Hofbräuhaus Regensburg in Regensburg

Eine durchaus schöne Gaststätte im Herzen der Stadt. Wir konnten im Freien einen schönen Platz ergattern und wurden von einem super netten Kellner betreut. Nach etwas Wartezeit konnten wir einen guten Schweinbraten und leckerer Bratwürste serviert bekommen. Beide Gerichte waren sehr gut gekocht, etwas fade abgeschmeckt, große Portionen, auch etwas lieblos angerichtet. Der Preis, Ambiente und der Service absolut gut und da kommen wir gerne wieder!

Bei unserem Regensburg Trip dürfte ein Besuch im Hofbräuhaus natürlich nicht fehlen. Es gab sehr leckeres Bier .Wir wurden sehr freundlich von allen bedient.

Man kann es nicht mit Hofbräuhaus in München vergleichen. Hier ist es keine Atmosphäre. Fürs essen haben wir lange gewartet ohne das Lokal voll war. Das Bier war lecker

Das Hofbräuhaus hat aktuell die 2 besten Kellner Regensburgs. Guy und Maarten Aufmerksam & freundlich! Essentechnisch kann ich aufgrund der Vorliebe zum Tatar keine anderen Erfahrungswerte schildern.

Wir gehen immer wieder dort hin, wie auch die gesamte Verwandtschaft. Es ist gemütlich und man kann auch draußen sitzen. Ehrliches, leckeres Essen und sehr freundliche Bedienung.

Das Hofbräuhaus ist absolut einen Besuch Wert. Sehr leckeres Essen (mega leckere selbstgemachte Remoulade 👍🏻) und toller Service.

Schöner Biergarten und freundliches Personal. Das Essen ist auch sehr gut.

Wie immer, war der Besuch eine Wohltat für die Seele!

Schöner Ort. Super nettes Personal mit einem freundlichen Lächeln. Sehr hilfsbereit und spricht fließend Englisch.

Touristenfalle mehr nicht. Essen unterste Schublade, genauso wie der Service.

Super bedeutende Institution in der Stadt, tolle Wirts-Familie, sehr gutes, abwechslungsreiches Essen, sehr gute Biere, ehrliches Ambiente, vernüftige Preise. Die absolute Lieblingskellnerin ist kürzlich nach vielen Jahrzehnten in den wohlverdienten Ruhestand getreten, ich vermisse sie etwas. Doch gehe ich hier immer wieder sehr gerne hin, und so geht es ganz vielen in Regensburg. Alles von der Karte kann man empfehlen, und es gibt auch Gerichte, die selbst in Bayern langsam selten werden, wie geröstetes Herz oder Tartar, und zwar in konstanter Top-Qualität.

Sind heute spontan eingekehrt. Essen war super und die Bedienung schnell und freundlich.

Wenn ich könnte würde ich 0 Sterne fürs Essen vergeben. Fleisch trocken, Knödel bazig. Schweinshaxen unter aller Sau. Keine Kruste, trocken und absolut ungenießbar. Nie wieder und nicht zu empfehlen.

Habe den Sauerbraten mit gerösteten Knödel gegessen. Leute unbedingt probieren!!! War einfach nur göttlich, sehr lecker, speziell die Sauce. Auch der Service war sehr freundlich. Schöne Grüße aus der Schweiz

Bedienung kommt nicht ... zu wenig für zu viele Gäste Essen gut

Als erstes die Nudelsuppe und Brotsuppe bestellt. Beides nach Tütensuppe geschmeckt. Garantiert nicht selbst gekocht. Als Hauptgang Gefülltes Schnitzel und Schweinebraten. Schnitzel war ok nur der ganze Teller war voll mit Kümmel bestreut. Mindestens eine Hand voll. Die Soße beim Braten hatte den selben Pulversoßen Geschmack wie die Suppen. Enttäuschend da in der Vergangenheit immer gut geschmeckt. Schade

Ein traditionelles bayrisches Wirtshaus wie man es sich vorstellt. Da ist nicht alles perfekt, aber dann wäre es auch nicht mehr echt. So soll es sein - und bleiben!!!

This restaurant is truly an institution of Bavarian food. The dishes are traditional classics that have likely stayed the same for hundreds of years. If you are looking for modern cuisine, this is definitely not the place. But if you want to experience authentic Bavarian food, service, and atmosphere, this is exactly where you should go. It’s a family-owned place, and compared to the Hofbräuhaus in Munich, the Hofbräuhaus Regensburg feels much cozier and more personal. A great spot to experience real Bavarian hospitality!

When you only get mediocre roast pork at a Bavarian Hofbräuhaus 😔

It's not a traditional Bavarian inn, but it's close. The food was okay, but not exactly delicious. We had sauerbraten (three of them), beef, and schnitzel. We were really looking forward to the venison stew, but it was already sold out on Saturday evening, even though it was the pre-Christmas season. 🤔 The kitchen wasn't even open for dessert by 9:30 pm. Well, what can I say? Form your own opinion; I've already formed mine.

The Hofbräuhaus in Regensburg is a classic, traditional Bavarian restaurant offering all the typical Bavarian dishes – from roast pork and crackling to fish dishes. The food is generally good, often excellent. I particularly remember the liver with boiled potatoes and the pulled pork on dark rye bread. Simple dishes like dumplings with gravy are also readily available. The ambiance is traditional: a large dining room, set tables, and an overall down-to-earth, Bavarian style. The service is a bit of a letdown. Once, we only wanted a beer and were completely ignored for over 15 minutes, so we left. This was an exception, but still worth mentioning. On all our other visits, we received normal and friendly service. Overall, it's a reliable, classic inn with good food and a traditional atmosphere, where the service can vary somewhat depending on the clientele.

Hofbräuhaus is always worth a visit!!!

Since Kneitinger was too crowded, I visited Hofbräu yesterday. The liver dumplings were better and fluffier than at Kneitinger, almost as good as my grandma's... and that's the highest possible compliment. The roast pork with dumplings and sauerkraut was also SUPER good. And Mrs. Meier's service earned it the fifth star. I'll gladly come back again and again.

We gave our waiter Maarten a generous tip. Apparently, that wasn't enough for him. Instead of €115, €120 was debited from our account. Beware of scams! Outrageous! Addendum: @Landlady K.S. That's absolutely right. The waiter didn't show us the amount on the card reader and simply charged us €5 more. We also didn't receive a receipt. That's not right. Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening with you.

We were at the Hofbräuhaus on a foggy Sunday afternoon... we had reserved a table for 7 people. At 11:45 on Sunday, the place was empty! My roast pork was okay. But the roast pork was an outrage... for €18.50, only small pieces of meat... like leftovers... and the gravy was anything but delicious! The fried chicken looked very pale, as did the schnitzel... unfortunately, there wasn't even a scoop of ice cream for the kids... the Hofbräuhaus is not the best place for good food... By the way, the place was empty until 12:30, then about 7 tables were occupied...!!!

We had the "stuffed Hofbräu schnitzel with fried potatoes and salad." The food was good, and the service was quick and friendly despite the crowds. We'd be happy to come back.

The price/performance ratio isn't right here – the schnitzel filled with cheese was unfortunately very dry and cost almost €23. A shame. However, the service was friendly and quick.

We ate here around 12 noon in mid-October! We had our three children (5, 4, and 3 months) and my parents-in-law with us! Upon entering the restaurant, we were immediately greeted warmly, and everyone made every effort to give us a large table with space on the side so we could leave the baby in the stroller at the table! Only after we sat down did we notice how empty the dining room was! A few tables were occupied, the rest were free! It was a Sunday shopping day in Regensburg that day! Menus were brought to us promptly, and our orders were taken promptly! Up to this point, everything was excellent! The service was very friendly and courteous! We ordered a salad with fried white sausage, a sauerbraten (sauerbraten), a children's schnitzel, and a side dish with pumpkin (I can't remember what it was exactly). Unfortunately, schnitzel with fries wasn't available for the kids; they only served potato salad! The salad was delicious, but very poorly presented. Which actually wasn't so bad! The Sauerbraten, the schnitzel, and the other hot dish were served lukewarm! We expected more for €20 each. The Sauerbraten wasn't particularly sour, and the dumplings were mushy. The schnitzel was unfortunately a bit bland, but it was okay for the kids! The side dish, "pumpkin," was carelessly served ice-cold on a separate plate! When asked if we enjoyed it, we made our presence known and told the waitress that our food had been served cold! Her response was, "Oh, how stupid." No apology, no surprise, nothing. After her reaction, it was clear to us: she hears this all the time! Unfortunately, there was no apology. A few tourists wandered into the restaurant during our stay, despite the busy city center, but it remained noticeably empty!

The Kaiserschmarrn was poorly made, almost raw, and the chef ignored our criticism. Only the friendly waiter saved the day.

Everything was great and clean. The selection was excellent and the food was of excellent quality. The service was nervous.

The menu is small, but everything is fresh. It's nice to sit outside, even if the table is on a bit of a slope. The sour sausages were excellently marinated in vinegar and onion broth, the Swiss sausage salad had plenty of sausage and was also well seasoned and dressed, and the stuffed schnitzel had a delicious cheese inside. Special requests were accommodated. The service was friendly. The cook even came out and asked everyone there if everything was okay. We found that very pleasant 👍🏻 Beer on tap: a pale wheat beer from the Hofbräuhaus was delicious/a smooth wheat beer. Verdict: We'd gladly go back 👍🏻

I visited Regensburg as a day trip and I also wanted to eat pork knuckle. The dish was so good. Very fulfilling. The crispy skin was perfect. The dumpling ball and the gravy were delicious too. I ate on the inside because I did not want to deal with the insects. The server was really nice and attentive even though I did not speak German. The atmosphere was nice and quiet. That may be because it was early during the day.

A quick beer in the rain; the orders from the neighboring table looked very good. The staff immediately took care of the guest's well-being.

We've gone here occasionally for seven years. The food has gone shockingly downhill. On our most recent visit, the sauce with the sauerbraten was sweet and had so congealed that it was inedible. The spaetzle was so soaked in butter that it was also essentially inedible. We ate a few bites and left most of the dish uneaten. The bratkartoffeln with the herz vom rost were undercooked and came closer to a gratin. A nice family runs this place, but that's not enough to recommend it.

Unfortunately closed when we visited… :-(

The food was delicious. Unfortunately, the pork knuckle was sold out on Monday afternoon, which is really annoying when you're going to a Bavarian Hofbräuhaus just for that.

An authentic Bavarian inn in the best sense of the word. Roast with dumplings or grilled sausages with sauerkraut, accompanied by a freshly tapped beer. If you're lucky, the landlady might stop by for a moment.

It was good, the atmosphere is nice, the food is good. Not extreaordinary or memorable just simply normal good food with nice service. There are herz on the speisekarte which you cannot find a lot of places nowadays. So yes overall rating 3.8.

Nice atmosphere and service, we were not lucky though with food that day, despite ordering traditional Bavarian meals. They simply lacked flavour and taste. Maybe it is better place for drinking, than eating?

I'm rating the inner courtyard here, which isn't necessarily bad, but not particularly beautiful either (in contrast to the interior). There's also outdoor seating near the busy pedestrian zone. The food was hearty and delicious, and the beer was as good as ever and freshly tapped. The staff was quite attentive; even though there was only one person running around, everything still worked out.

Very unpleasant experience. I stopped in to have a beer. There were musicians playing some oompah music and I took several photos. One of the staff members came over and yelled at me for taking photos and told me to stop - which I did. He then came back several minutes later and yelled at me again for not respecting the people playing music. This is a tourist destination in the heart of Regensburg. I would think taking pictures of people playing music would be a daily experience. The staff member was extremely rude! Would NOT recommend this establishment.

Had visited Munchen several times so when I came here on my final evening to taste delicious Bavarian food and beer again. The roast pork was delicious and the piece of crackle extremely crunchy - yums!! Portion size is good. Price is reasonable for the quality. The HB beer is the best beer I tasted on this trip which included beers from other parts of Germany, Czech, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia. Wonderful thirst quencher on a hot early evening. I thought the male waiter (in white short sleeve shirt) who served me was extremely patient and helpful. On first look at the English part of the menu, I saw only cold platters and sausages so I decided to leave. But fortunately I let the waiter know why I was leaving and he told me the first page in German had the more traditional meaty dishes I wanted. He proceeded to then translate each item for me! No sign of displeasure or unhappiness from him at all. I gave him a bigger tip because he deserved it. I do not understand the bad recent reviews here. Maybe its members from the same cruise ship writing in individually. Give this restaurant a try and judge for yourself. P/S: if you think I am a soft touch, have a look at some of the harsh reviews I have handed out in the past and on this current trip. I tell it as it is!

Nice ambiance, but the waitresses were completely unmotivated and disinterested. After a long wait, we weren't served and left the place thirsty. It wasn't busy, and there were enough waitstaff.

I ordered asparagus which arrived after a long time waiting. The asparagus was not warm, the ham was thick and hard, potatoes too soft and salty But still I was so happy finally to get asparagus and started eating. The nice waiter asked me if all is ok, I answered truthfully that the asparagus is not hot. I asked him to feel it and he agreed that it was cold. He offered a new portion of asparagus. Please note I did not complain and would have eaten it as I was hungry as well. So he took the meal Shortly after, a woman who called herself 'chefin' Frau Gardner-Schafbauer, came back with a styropor box and my whole meal inside. What a disgusting sight, all mixed up in this cheap box. She said 'you can take it home'. I thought that was a joke and said ' I live in a hotel and do not want to take it. Still expecting to get a new portion of asparagus. No I was mistaken. They made me pay for the horrible meal in the styropor box. I had to leave hungry and needed to go to another restaurant for a meal. I travel a lot and eat often in restaurants. NEVER EVER anything like this happened before. This unprofessional woman said 'the cook took out the asparagus of the hot water. So maybe the plate was waiting too long to be brought to the customer. Could be many reasons why the meal was cold, but so brutally putting the customer into the wrong, is just shocking.

Good traditional bavarian restaurant

Die Bedienung war erst mal sehr nett. Das Schnitzel und die Haxenstücke waren kaum gewürzt und die Haxe so hart und trocken, dass sie fast nicht zu schneiden war. Auf nachfragen, ob es geschmeckt habe äußerten wir unser Anliegen und wurden ab sofort ignoriert. Das war für uns leider ein Reinfall.

“Just” had a beer in the courtyard. The lady from the service made a rough impression at first, but that was put into perspective pretty quickly. Typically Bavarian style, tough in tone but still warm and funny. Had a lot of fun!

I would have given the food a five but I thought the Schweinshaxe was cooked a little too long. It was still good, just not great!
