We spent New Year's Eve 2024 in the hospital basement. The event was excellently organized. The food was excellent, although the quality is usually not great at such large events. Here, however, the quality of the food was first class. A small point of criticism concerns the dessert: this was probably not the kitchen's best decision. The service is in no way inferior to the quality of the food. The young lady who looked after us for over six hours (we were a group of nine people) was extremely motivated, in a very good mood and extremely personable and very friendly. The innkeeper was also at the table with us and looked after our group and tried to ensure our satisfaction. He also set off some great fireworks. So we had a really nice New Year's Eve. Thank you.

A quaint restaurant and a great beer garden that also has a lot to offer for children. Food is very good and plentiful, in terms of price I would say it is rather upscale, but it could also be the norm now, I don't know. Service is actually great too, only in the evenings, when the beer garden slowly empties out, you see the waitresses much less often, so you get the feeling that you should please go slowly... Apart from that, absolute recommendation!

Very good cuisine. Large and differently divided beer garden. Space for lots of people. There are also 3 separate rooms inside. Also suitable for larger groups of over 100 people. Food is very good. For example, there is a large selection of schnitzels. Service is attentive and very friendly.

Classic Bavarian cuisine with very good quality. Nice, partially newly renovated ambience. For me, the beer garden outside is one of the 2-3 most beautiful in Regensburg, but it is not overrun with tourists. Predominantly local audience, that speaks for itself. Location a little outside the center, that may also be an advantage. Still within walking distance if necessary, otherwise parking around is not a problem.

After almost an hour and asking, our food was warmed up again. It was ready to be issued forever. Unfortunately we were naive enough to eat something and pay for the meal. There wasn't enough Aperol either. Drink was on the house. OK. The waitress was nice and visibly embarrassed. The boss reacted absolutely wrongly. The food should have been newly cooked. Roast without crust???

Simple Bavarian cuisine. The young boys (seemingly 17 years old) who were serving as waitresses are a bit overwhelmed (or haven't been in the Brance for long). Ordered a table for 6 people. We got a table for 5, even though the guest rooms were empty except for 2 occupied tables. We then got ourselves a chair. There weren't enough cutlery and napkins either, so we had to get them from the next table. Flammkuchen, salad, Kässpätzle and Bay. Snack was served. It's all ok. Loveless ice cream sundae for dessert. But the beer was great. A thank you, or have a nice evening, or hello would also have been nice...

We live very close to the restaurant and we always enjoyed going there. But unfortunately the quality of the food has declined significantly this season. It all started with a beer glass that still had lipstick on it. After I complained about it, it was replaced immediately. Today we had, among other things, a mixed salad with baked chicken breast. The salad was slippery and the chicken was hard and tough, which indicates poor quality goods. I got a cold tarte flambée. Unfortunately, the walnuts listed on the menu, which I was really looking forward to, were also missing. The vegetables on the tarte flambée were also absolutely not fresh. All a real disappointment! However, I have to say that the service was absolutely great. Very understanding of our complaints and absolutely friendly.

A bit difficult without a reservation. We still got a table and the food was plentiful and tasty. Everyone can find something to eat and drink. Very nice and shady. Even a stair lift up to the first floor, but then gravel and a little difficult for wheelchair users, but possible.

I had dinner here in the evening with a cycling group of over 20 people. The Orders for drinks and food were taken quickly. The drinks were served quickly. The waiting time for the food was longer because the beer garden was full. The beer garden is hidden and cannot be seen from the street. The atmosphere of the beer garden is great.

There were ten of us here on a Sunday evening and got a round table in the beer garden. The beer garden is beautiful, especially when the weather is good. Unfortunately I can't give a single star for the food. Suckling pig knuckles with two types of dumplings, the latter was only 1 type of dumpling without prior notice. The sauce was terrible, indescribably almost like the sauce of a Rhenish sauerbraten mixed with something sweet or probably mixed. It had nothing to do with pork gravy at all. It's a real shame, the other meals didn't score either. It was a birthday invitation and the bill came to 121.10 euros, a shame for the money.

Beautifully renovated and shady beer garden in the north of Regensburg. Always feels a bit 'underrated' because of its big brother Spitalgarten in the old town, but the beer garden can really do something: A great menu with beer garden delicacies, especially the schnitzel variations are great. You can also get ribs or fresh salads. The highlight is the whiskey museum, which is also on site. The beer garden can be reached via stairs (disabled wheelchair available). Card payment is also possible. A small drawback: parking spaces are rare due to the location. About 5 cars can park in the inner courtyard. It's best to plan a bike ride.

Are on July 27th. Great service at one table with 25 work colleagues. Great service, good food and great ambience with entertainment from the Honeytones. Everyone was very satisfied. The hospital cellar is recommended at any time.

Unfortunately, the service didn't work at all during my visit. We had to wait quite a long time for the drinks, what with can happen in a full beer garden. Unfortunately it didn't work at all when it came to eating. Almost everyone had gotten their food, only one spaetzle for the children was missing. When, after asking several times, the spaetzle still wasn't there and everyone else had already finished eating, I contacted another service employee. Unfortunately, he wasn't interested in my inquiry at all. A few minutes later I asked the kitchen directly because our waiter preferred to serve other tables. Here too I was sent away unkindly. When I tried again to finally get the spaetzle for the child, I was sent back to my table in a relatively unfriendly manner. About 5 minutes after the last request (20 minutes after everyone else had eaten) we received the children's spaetzle.

Super schöner Biergarten, sehr freundlicher Service, schnelle Bedienung und gute Preise. Wir wurden vom Chef persönlich durch den Keller geführt und haben super interessante Einblicke in die Lagerung und ursprüngliche Eisgewinnung zur Bierkühlung und Bierherstellung bekommen. Eine Privatführung für uns zwei von Herrn Dannert mit vielen historischen Erläuterungen. Ein herzliches Dankeschön für diesen tollen Service! Der Keller ist absolut sehenswert und sollte unbedingt erhalten werden!

We were in the hospital basement as guests of a larger celebration. The service was great. There was so much going on and the service still fulfilled all our wishes incredibly quickly. We had a great time with a great atmosphere.

We were there for dinner and unfortunately it was really bad. I got a steak unsalted, you can also see fried potatoes below. Table had no fork, and dirty from greasy napkins. After 15 minutes I picked up the fork myself from the table next to it. For €25 I expected something different. For example, if the dish was no longer available, the waitress should simply let them know and not bring burnt leftover potatoes that the man couldn't eat. I've been there several times before and was really good. but this time was a disaster.

Eat: Schnitzel “Viennese style” is great, the fries are excellent and the salad is fresh. Service: Ordered schnapps - about 30 minutes waiting time, Waiter drinks the last of our table's schnapps together with another table. AWESOME!!! Ambiance: Only 2 trampoline areas for jumping, which are permanently occupied by the same children so that others (including “adults”) cannot enjoy jumping. We would come back for the food. Service should be reconsidered and the ambience is a small side note.

Food and Drink The Spitaleller on Alten Nürnberger Straße in the Steinweg district offers predominantly traditional Bavarian cuisine in a slightly more modern presentation. The prices are very reasonable. Ambiance In the very cozy beer garden with the large trees you can find sun or shade - depending on your needs. A large playground with a trampoline, located slightly away from the seats and away from the street, offers children a good variety without disturbing the guests. The vaulted cellar is also worth seeing. A chair lift is available for people in wheelchairs or with walking difficulties. service The service staff is very friendly and works very quickly and effectively. The drinks come immediately. The food is always served very promptly and to all guests at the same time, which is unfortunately no longer the case everywhere. Even if it's very busy at lunchtime on the weekend, there's always time for a friendly remark. The kitchen always comes along very well, even when the house is full. We never had to wait an unreasonably long time. Conclusion The beer garden and the inn are recommended for an evening beer or for a visit with the whole family. I will definitely be happy and come back often.

Here, as foreigners, we weren't eating Regensburg, service was good and fast, currywurst was more of a snack quality at star restaurant prices. Just under 12 euros for the sausage and 4.50 for a special.

Very unfriendly employees! Eating takes over 1 hour Forgotten half again took 20 minutes! Pepper & salt ordered didn't come for 10 minutes! Would have to get it yourself. So very unfriendly!

Traditional beer hall with a very pleasant summer garden. The service was very cheerful and added to the nice atmosphere. Flamkuchen as well as Kaiserschmarn were great. We went there mainly because it was listed as a venue for the European Football Championship matches and indeed there were screens and it was comfortable, but alas there was no sound from the match or any music.

I've eaten out a lot in my life, but what I experienced there was the greatest outrage of all Waited 2 hours for our drinks After 2 hours we canceled our meal, and when we asked more times we were simply turned away. It was the first and last time that I or we showed up there.

Great tavern, but please don't offer public viewing to this extent if you can't cater to it. We waited over an hour for beer (food came quicker) and then another hour just to pay, that's not possible.

Der Spitalkeller liegt nicht im Zentrum, ist aber die kleine Reise von dort wert, wenn man einen ruhigen Biergarten mit guter bayerischer Küche sucht. Auch das eigene Bier ist nicht schlecht.

The Spitalkeller is a little pearl of Regensburg and one of the most beautiful beer gardens in the city. If you are looking for the classics of Bavarian tavern cuisine, you have come to the right place. Schnitzel, roasts or even ribs are simply great. (I've tried EVERYTHING and sometimes I don't know what to choose because everything is really good.) In addition, the Spital Kellerbier is only served HERE - exclusively! The old trees together with the old walls create an atmosphere from a bygone era. If you haven't visited the vaulted cellar yet, you should definitely do so - the wow effect is guaranteed! We were in Regensburg over the weekend and I have to honestly say that we have never received such friendly and courteous service in any restaurant. The young gentleman with a deep voice was really fond of children. I have rarely experienced such service towards children. Really highly recommended

Was there for the first time today. But definitely not the last time. Even though there was a lot going on, the food came in a reasonable time. Service was always friendly and attentive.

I have known the Spitaleller for several years and it is now my absolute favorite restaurant in Bavaria for traditional Bavarian food. Great food, drinks, a beautiful building and beer garden. The service is also good and always quick. Absolute recommendation!

Great place to learn a bit about whiskey

Great local restaurant serving traditional German food. The waiter was nice and explained the menu in English for us. It was wonderful to find that the restaurant served vegan dishes (I was ready to eat sauerkraut and chips for dinner) - I had the vegan chicken with couscous which was actually really tasty. It tasted like they made the vegan chicken patty themselves.

The food was alright. But, it's more expensive than in the menu pictures. Anyway prices changed. It's hard to find a parking lot. The people were friendly.

We were here for the first time on New Year's Eve. Everything was great with the reservation. BUT: a New Year's Eve menu was offered in the flyer. What did we get? A buffet, which unfortunately didn't correspond to €89. You always had to wait in line for a long time to get to the buffet. You don't need something like that on New Year's Eve😏Unfortunately there was no explanation from the boss personally that they had spontaneously changed the menu to a buffet in the summer. Out of whichever reasons. We didn't find out. Unfortunately there wasn't the food that was offered in the flyer. We had expected more from this evening. You should actually inform your guests as soon as there are any changes to the planned process. Too bad😔 The staff was great and did their best. The band and the fireworks were great.

Yesterday at the New Year's Eve event we were disappointed, instead of the menu a buffet was offered that in no way lived up to the menu promise. Unfortunately it was overpriced at €90 per person and we spent a lot of time in the queue 🤨 It's a shame we had imagined something better.

Toller Garten mit Heizpilzen, sehr einladend. Servicekraft war super freundlich jedoch ein wenig verlorenen bei der Abrechnung. Essen war im Großen und Ganzen lecker, jedoch wurde bei der Aufnahme des Essens nicht nachgefragt wie gar das Fleisch sein sollte. Kommunikation bei Reservierung fehlgeschlagen. Aus diesem Grund eine Gesamtbewertung von 3/5 Sternen.

Sehr freundlicher Service, heller aber auch hellhöriger Gastraum, gutes Essen. Haxe könnte noch einen Tick röscher sein. Wir werden wieder hingehen.

Interessante und sehr persönliche Führung von Herrn Dannert durch den Sommerkeller; schön, dass es so etwas Besonderes noch in Regensburg gibt; toll war auch die Möglichkeit, anschließend einen limitierten Whisky kaufen und selbst mit allem Drum und Dran unter netter Anleitung abfüllen zu können

Bei Ambiente, Essen und Service ist noch Luft nach oben. 4 Punkte, weil sich direkt auf dem Gelände die einzigartige Walhalla of Whisky befindet.

Ich war mit meiner Freundin beim Essen hier, und muss sagen ich werde hier nichts mehr essen. Es gibt bessere Biergärten/Gasthäuser. Getränke hatten wir sehr schnell,aber aufs essen haben wir 40 minuten gewartet. Ich hab mir das Forster Schnitzel bestellt wo hausgemachte Spätzle mit drauf standen. Leider waren es keine selbstgemachten Spätzle. Die Soße war leider lauwarm und kaum gewürzt. Der Kaiserschmarn, war dafür lecker. Daher auch die 2 Sterne.
