A good Bavarian restaurant right on Rotkreuzplatz. The extensive menu offers a wide selection. The food was tasty, but nothing more. It lacks a certain polish. The staff was friendly and efficient. Good beer and still reasonably priced.

Unfortunately, the food quality declined a bit last time. I hope it was just a one-off. We've been very satisfied so far.

It's always worth a visit, the service is Bavarian and cozy.

We spontaneously dropped in on a Saturday evening and were lucky enough to get a table right away, even though the place was very busy. You could see that the customers were mostly locals, which is a good sign. The food was excellent and served very quickly. We'd gladly go back!

During my visit on September 17, 2025, I noticed that my ordered half-liter of light beer was not poured correctly. The pour was about 1 cm below the calibration mark. This is apparently common practice. During my last visit last Monday, the half-liter of beer was again poured about 1 cm below the calibration mark. The Jagdschlössl advertises online that it is open until midnight, with the last beer served in the restaurant at 11:30 p.m. This is also stated on the receipt. Last Monday, I was in the restaurant with a companion. Shortly after 10:00 p.m., the waiter arrived and informed me that he had to settle the bill because the restaurant closes at 11:00 p.m. He demanded that I pay the bill. My companion had to get up to pay at the card terminal and was treated rudely. We complained about the procedure and received the response that it would be very expensive to accurately display the changed opening hours. The Jagdschlössl on Rotkreuzplatz is a long-established inn and should present itself accordingly. As a paying guest, I expect friendly service, adherence to the posted opening hours, and proper serving. My companion and I decided not to visit the establishment again.

A quaint, classic pub. Good food and drinks, and fast service. We go there once every three or four years while on vacation, and it's a regular visit for dinner. The price/performance ratio is more than fair.

One of the best Bavarian restaurants in Munich. Food is very delicious and authentic. Atmosphere is nice and very easy accessible via U-bahn or Bus. We have visited few occasions and will not think twice to visit again.

Seven of us, including a child, dined there. The waitress was very attentive and brought my son something to draw. We've never been offered that in a restaurant before. The drinks came very quickly, and so did the food. Overall, the wait was very short. The portions are generous, and the price is more than reasonable for the size. It's even reasonable by Munich standards. The food was very well prepared and perfectly seasoned. We were all full, and for a small price, it tasted great, too. We will be back. The zander is a dream, as is the Swabian plate.

The two of us were here at lunchtime in the beer garden on September 15, 2025. It's nicely laid out, protected from the heaviest traffic by a hedge, with lots of locals, a very busy place, and a pleasant atmosphere. The staff are friendly and attentive. The beer selection and prices are typical for Munich. We were quite satisfied until my wife ordered something 'for a light snack'. Two Reiberdatschi (potato pancakes), frozen factory-made, each about 8 cm in diameter, flat as postage stamps, with a small bowl of apple sauce for a whopping €10.20!!! Our mood was immediately ruined; there's no point beating around the bush, this is nothing but a rip-off. We asked ourselves: Why do they do this (it's been similar elsewhere in Munich)? It ruins the otherwise positive impression for the guest, leaves a bad taste in their mouths, and actually demonstrates a lack of respect for those who keep the restaurant business running – the customers!

Extremely unfriendly service! As a guest looking for a seat, you only find out where you're not allowed to sit. You feel like a nuisance, not a welcome guest. We left and had dinner at Ayinger on Rotkreuzplatz. The staff were much more hospitable here!

It's actually a cool restaurant, but the staff is truly unfriendly. I've never experienced anything like this before, where you feel so uncomfortable just ordering. Unfortunately, the second time I was served so rudely that I had to leave. But maybe that's just my friendly nature.

Unfortunately, the service was very unfriendly. We wanted to order just a portion of fries with our beer, but were refused with the words, "Fries are only available as a side dish with the meal." We were then quite rudely escorted away. For a beer garden where many guests simply want a drink, this doesn't seem very hospitable. Even on previous visits, we had to actively alert the staff that we wanted to order. Overall, the impression is that guests are more of a nuisance than a welcome addition.

The atmosphere is typical and welcoming, perfect for enjoying a good beer. The pork knuckle (Schweinshaxe) was delicious, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, served with knödel. The sausage salad (Wurstsalat) was also a great choice. I recommend it! 🍻

Your Obatzda is truly divine! You rarely find anything like it these days. It's beautifully ripe, beautifully seasoned, and creamy, but not so perfect that it's too creamy. There are still nice, large chunks of the cheese skin, just as it should be. I've also had your roast pork delivered to me, and that's amazing, too. Especially the sauce. The same can be said about the service: very fast, very nice, very friendly. Bottom line: I have many places where I have a regular dish – you're definitely one of them!

Beer garden plate ???? I've been going to this restaurant for almost 30 years and have always been satisfied (especially the Jägerschnitzel is highly recommended!!). On August 24th, I went there again with my wife for dinner, and due to the beautiful weather and great atmosphere, we opted for the BEER GARDEN PLATE this time – a complete disaster! There was no horseradish, mayo, or ketchup. Instead of an Obatzz, there were four pieces of Camembert, and instead of a pickle, there were three pieces of a pickled gherkin... what a shame :( :(

We're both from Munich and are familiar with the regional cuisine. The waiter was grumpy and rude because we wanted to pay separately. The atmosphere was also very uncomfortable. There are definitely better restaurants in the area.

A very good, pleasant inn in the best sense of the word. It's not for nothing that it's full of regulars. That's how it should be!

I had a salad that wasn't seasoned at first, and after complaining, it was unfortunately just water with two drops of vinegar. My colleagues had meat that was completely overcooked. The kitchen has deteriorated considerably. You had to wait a long time for drinks if you wanted to reorder them.

We visit here regularly and are more than impressed by the quality of the Bavarian cuisine. The dumplings are as fluffy as Grandma's pillow, the roast pork with a crust that makes such a satisfying crunch when you bite into it that you pause for a moment and nod in appreciation. Even the side salad here acts like a little refreshing buddy, patting you on the shoulder and saying, "I'm still here!" – charming, crisp, and well-seasoned. There is one small drawback, though: The proximity to the hospital and the rather busy traffic at Rotkreuzplatz occasionally create a somewhat rustic background sound. So, anyone hoping to hear nothing but cowbells and birdsong while eating will be rewarded with sirens and the occasional honking bus. But let's be honest – after the second beer and an extra portion of pork knuckle, even that becomes a rhythmic part of Munich's city symphony.

For me, this is the number 1 Bavarian restaurant in Munich! The pork knuckle is by far the best I've ever eaten. The cheese spaetzle is homemade and very fluffy. The Kaiserschmarrn is a dream. The piquant cream sauce is highly recommended. A visit is definitely worth it. The waiters are mostly very friendly, but there are a few odd ones 😂 5 stars anyway because the food is 100% convincing!

I ate at the Jagdschlössl and ordered cordon bleu with fries. Unfortunately, the cordon bleu was a bit cold inside – the legally recommended core temperature of 70°C was clearly not reached, which is problematic from a hygiene perspective. The service seemed rather reserved and unattentive, which further spoiled the visit. One positive aspect is the beautiful ambiance, especially for a city location – well-kept and cozy. Conclusion: Nice atmosphere, but the food and service clearly have room for improvement.

We're from North Rhine-Westphalia and have been to Munich and the Jagdschlössl many times. It's a typical Bavarian inn with a beer garden under chestnut trees. Delicious, traditional food, and very reasonable prices (compared to the city center). Whenever we're in Munich, the Jagdschlössl is our first stop. If we lived in Neuhausen, it would be our regular.

We were a small group. Unfortunately, we were seated with empty glasses. Only one waiter for the largest area. Four waiters were working in the smaller areas, and a large group joined us in our area. It was too much for the waiter. His colleagues didn't help him, so several guests were left with empty glasses. Our plates weren't even cleared. After we made it clear that we'd like another drink, a female waitress told us to chill out. Such an unfriendly lady! She herself didn't have any tables to attend to at the time. This is a waste of time and customers. I won't recommend this restaurant to anyone, unless you want to be insulted.

Very delicious food. The service was friendly, although a bit rude: "We're still practicing ordering together!" I found it quite entertaining. They didn't want to push tables together for our larger group.

I've never eaten the Bauer Cordon Bleu before, it's very tasty but the prices are outrageous. One of the most expensive roast porks comes with an extra 5.90 for the coleslaw, which you can't get anywhere else, and the roast pork isn't one of the good ones, unfortunately, that's just not acceptable!

A lovely little garden on Rotkreutzplatz. Tables under chestnut trees and a busy place. I managed to snag a spot in partial shade. Service was quick despite the full garden. Prices typical for Munich. The beer was fresh and well-chilled. The asparagus with schnitzel was excellent.

We stopped by the Jagdschlössl restaurant on a Friday afternoon to satisfy our hunger. I ordered a veal Wiener Schnitzel with jam and fries, along with a pancake soup and apple spritzer. The food was delicious, the restaurant is very cozy, and the service was super friendly and customer-oriented. We didn't have to wait long, even though the place was already quite busy at that time. We'd be happy to come back to try the other dishes.

We ate and drank there several times with a large group throughout the weekend. All the dishes were excellent, the beer was delicious, the service was good and the staff was friendly and nice even just before closing time. We will definitely come back 😊

The Jagdschlössl Munich on Rotkreuzplatz is a historic Bavarian inn with an inn garden, the ambience is cozy and rustic. The menu is extensive and very tasty, the food comes quickly, the waiters are friendly and on point. Definitely worth a visit.

Whenever I visit Munich, I always come to this restaurant to enjoy their Wienerschnitzel with Weissbier. I love their atomosphere, and the Schnitzel is very juicey and tasty. And their service ? It is just "German style" service without smile or friendliness, but I think much better then any other restaurants in Munich area since I've never felt high-pressure fear from them. You can enjoy beer and food peacefully here.

Ordered the daily dish asparagus with veal for 33 euros. 2 pieces of meat and 3 sticks of asparagus. ABSOLUTELY sad!!! Unfortunately, if you have any questions about the cellar, there is no one responsible on site. Complaints are welcome online. Absolute disappointment.

The waitress was apparently annoyed by other guests and, in my opinion, let the other guests or me feel it a little too much. It was quite crowded and you felt a little ignored. The food was good and the ambience was also ok. I wasn't allowed to move my seat outside because then the waitress would no longer be responsible for the area. I perceived this inflexibility as a result of the whim of the waitress.

The staff was very unfriendly, made inappropriate jokes from the start and made us leave at the end by clapping our hands as if we were animals. This happened on Monday evening, no one was drunk, me and my friends wanted to have a quiet dinner and have a little chat, but the staff was in a hurry to clear the plates away. You couldn't eat normally in peace. They still wanted to get tips when paying. Absolutely unacceptable! The food was okay, no complaints about it.

In the area of ​​inexpensive but still good, this Bavarian inn makes a good living with the good Augustinerbier 4⭐️. You have to come here with the right expectations. The portions for most dishes are generous. And the quality of the roast young pig I tried is impressive. Apart from the crust, the taste remained the same. a roast pork from another restaurant that uses organic products from the Hermannsdorfer Landwerkstätten. The only difference is that the organic roast pork there (without crust) starts at €23.90, mind you for the small portion, and here at the Jagdschlössl a generous portion costs €12.90. It can hardly be cheaper in Munich. The other dishes, such as the pike perch (see picture), are served quite unpretentiously, but this should not be overrated in this price segment. On Sunday lunchtime, the guests include both younger families and older semesters.

Above average food; The new menu (July 2022) has, among other things, a very tasty dessert (pancakes with red berries and vanilla ice cream) on the menu. Today (March 2025) Weisswurst breakfast with dark draft beer. Outside in the beer garden in the sun. Simply wonderful. And all in all less than €30 for two. Sometimes Munich is also affordable 😀

Bad, loveless food for a lot of money. Onion roast, advertised outside as loin, was a tough loaf that could hardly be cut with a knife because the tendons are naturally strong. Accompanying vegetables were lukewarm. Onions came from a can, like the Danish hot dog. Nothing like this has ever happened to me.

Two people were there last night and just wanted to have a drink. The restaurant was by no means overcrowded, but no waitress felt responsible for us. A service person kept walking past our table, but studiously ignored us. We tried to order several times, which we finally managed to do after about 10 minutes. I remember the Jagdschlössl from before, but I have never felt as uncomfortable and unwelcome there as I did this time! For a long-established Munich Augustinian economy, this is just sad!
