Tegernseer Tal - Bräuhaus in München

A fantastic restaurant! The staff was friendly and the food was superb. The prices are a bit higher, but the taste is worth every penny, and the portions were perfect. The Kaiserschmarren (shredded pancake) is also highly recommended. The restaurant gradually filled up, so you might want to make a reservation. We'll definitely be back on our next visit to Munich.

If you just want to grab a beer shortly after 11 pm on a Wednesday, you might get a rude response and your order will be taken very reluctantly and handed out as if they were distributing beer for charity. It has nothing to do with Munich grumpiness. It's simply an unfriendly establishment.

Still highly recommended. The portions are smaller now, but it doesn't have to be as excessive as it used to be.

A cozy Bavarian atmosphere. Good, traditional cuisine. Detlef at reception spontaneously helped me out of a tight spot with an overnight stay. Commendable! Service-oriented and very helpful. He even had some tips for me. That's a big plus.

A cozy restaurant with generous portions; we had roast pork, pork knuckle, roast beef, and a mixed grill. All dishes arrived simultaneously. The service was friendly but not attentive. The tiramisu was unfortunately disappointing. Nevertheless, it was a pleasant evening, despite the slow service.

It's simply unbelievable what we experienced at this "tavern." There were six of us, and two of us didn't want to order drinks. No sooner had we said so than we were seriously told that we'd have to leave immediately because there would be "trouble" if everyone didn't order something. Excuse me?! Since when is it forbidden for guests to arrive first? I have rarely experienced such rudeness, disrespect, and arrogance in the restaurant industry. Hospitality: 0 out of 10. Instead of being treated kindly, we felt like a burden—or a problem they wanted to get rid of as quickly as possible. If a restaurant has rules like these and communicates them in such an arrogant way, it should seriously reconsider whether it even wants customers. Anyone who treats guests like this should seriously question what "tavern culture" actually means. For us, one thing is certain: Never again. And I can only advise everyone else: Avoid it like the plague.

The sausage salad wasn't bad, and the service wasn't bad either. It wasn't bad last time, but today's offering was very mixed. The pork neck steak with fried potatoes and herb butter was, well, very fatty. The fried potatoes were okay, and the herb butter was so hard and cold there was no way to even begin to melt it on the steak. So, for €21.90, the quality wasn't great and the price was outrageous.

Server handled 15 people with food and drink by himself for an hour. Def come here to experience traditional foods and drinks with great service.

The food is delicious, but the service is sometimes overwhelmed and makes mistakes due to the high volume of customers; for the price, this shouldn't be the case.

Absolutely delicious food at the Tegernseer Hofbräuhaus in Munich! The mushrooms in cream sauce with bread dumplings were incredibly tasty and perfectly seasoned. Authentically Bavarian, creamy, aromatic – simply fantastic. Highly recommended!

Had a couple of beers here and a few pretzels. Pretzels were not stale. Beer was beer. The service was good and the overall atmosphere was decent.

We visited the Bräuhaus Tegernseer Tal in Munich as a quick stopover for a relaxing drink during our vacation. We sat down in the beer garden in front of the restaurant, and before we could even look at the menu, a man came to our table to take our order. We asked for a moment to look at the drinks menu, and both my friend and I ordered a shandy. The waiter didn't seem to like the fact that we didn't want anything to eat. Our drinks arrived shortly after. We hadn't even finished our drinks when the waiter was back at our table to ask if we wanted anything else – we didn't. He then said he would bring us the bill. Two minutes later, it arrived, and we paid. It really felt like they wanted us to leave as quickly as possible. There was plenty of space, and a few tables were still free, but that was fine. We quickly finished our glasses and left. It was a real shame, because I actually really enjoyed it there.

A typical Bavarian beer hall, with excellent meatballs and burgers, and for those who like it, the pork shank was also very good and crispy. A folksy atmosphere, friendly and cheerful staff, rivers of beer flowing like there's no tomorrow... prices are average for Munich, but water is very expensive. It's best to fill your water bottles at Marienplatz or buy it at the Muller supermarket.

Before we ordered, we were told that we would have to leave the restaurant after 2 hours... after 1.5 hours, we weren't allowed to order anything else because "the next guests were already waiting." Overall, very rude and clearly only interested in maximizing sales. I have very fond memories of your restaurant from my last visit to Munich and have recommended it to everyone who asked me where they should go when they visit Munich. Today's visit has put an end to that. The food is good, but this all-round service is unacceptable. Even the person at the next table thanked the waiter for "thanks for the sound."

I planned lunch at this place in Munich. I love their beer, but I'd never tried the food before. It's a wonderfully authentic atmosphere. The staff is very attentive and friendly. I had a chicken dish with a special sauce and mushrooms, and it was truly delicious. I want to come back again next year for Oktoberfest, and I'll definitely stop by and eat there again.

We ate here with our children in the early evening. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. The Tegernseer Tal Bräuhaus is one of the few breweries with a children's menu. When we're back in Munich, we'll come back here for dinner.

We were very surprised that such a good selection of vegetarian dishes was presented in a typical Bavarian (meat-heavy) brewery restaurant. And they were also very tasty (if a little too salty). The service was also very good. Friendly staff, and drinks and food arrived quickly despite the full house. Even the chef pitched in. A well-organized team. Ordered two different snack boards: Unfortunately, they were very small. The tartare was so sour that it was inedible. Everything else on the boards was relatively bland and unappealing. The service was very friendly and attentive.

After a round of the main train station, we ended up at the Tegernseer BH (a German restaurant with a bang). We got a seat on a Friday evening without a reservation. The restaurant had a pleasant, quiet atmosphere (you could chat with your neighbors, unheard of in the main train station!), a very friendly server (with a great beard!), good food, and delicious beer at reasonable prices. We were thoroughly satisfied. Highly recommended!

It's a tourist trap, and we fell right into it, but in 2025, I didn't believe places like this could still exist. Two medium beers and a hunk of bread with two tablespoons of industrial cheese spread on top cost €27. It would cost nothing to be a good and loyal person.

Very friendly service, good beer! What was annoying, but nobody can do anything about it, was the street cleaning on a Friday at 5 p.m.

The crispy roast pork was lukewarm with a soft crust. Microwaved chicken soup was piping hot with a meager, millimeter-sized garnish. The apple strudel, to top it all off, was mushy.

We only had drinks. Great place to sit in the center. Very good service. Great beer.

THE HISTORY The Tal 8 has always been an address for culinary enjoyment. The town house in the center of Munich used to be the famous Schlicker-brewery up to the last century. Back in the 15th century, wagoners, retailers, town clerks and councillor used to stop at the "Thal" for a snack or drink. Our concept of a comfortable Bavarian restaurant continues the tradition and revives the Bavarian culture of beer in its best way. We had a wonderful experience at Tegernseer Tal Bräuhaus, right in the heart of Munich. The location is perfect – you can’t miss it, as it’s right next to McDonald’s in the city centre. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating, with a lovely atmosphere that feels welcoming and authentic. The menu features classic Bavarian cuisine, and we were really impressed with the quality. Everything was served very well, the prices were fair, and the food itself was delicious. We ordered the traditional apple pancake pudding, which we were told would take about 25 minutes – a sign that it’s freshly made, and well worth the wait! Alongside, we enjoyed a selection of refreshing white wines, which paired beautifully with the meal. What we especially liked was that it was an easy and enjoyable stop for everyone: while we enjoyed our authentic Bavarian lunch, the kids were perfectly happy grabbing McDonald’s nearby. A win-win all around! If you’re in Munich and looking for a tasty, authentic, and relaxed Bavarian dining experience right in the city centre, Tegernseer Tal Bräuhaus is a fantastic choice.

Across the street, the Schneider was crowded on Saturday morning. And we received a warm welcome at the "Tegernseer Tal Brauhaus." Hopf Weisse is a very good alternative to the Schneider. The white sausages and pretzels were good. The friendly waiter even helped us get a ride. We'd love to go back!

Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience at this place. One of our group members asked to use the washroom, but was directed to the McDonald’s next door, which was both surprising and unwelcoming. To make matters worse, some of the staff began discussing and laughing about her appearance, apparently unaware that other members of our group could hear them. This kind of treatment is unacceptable and deeply disrespectful to customers.

The Tegernseer beer hall has a great selection of Bavarian food. The waiters are always very friendly. I go there often for Bayern Munich games, and the beer is delicious.

Everything was great until the waiter changed. Apparently, the staff had some problems among themselves, but letting the guest feel it was completely unacceptable. If you've been served a certain drink for hours, and it's suddenly no longer available, or you're supposed to mix it yourself, something's wrong. The tone and arrogance of the last waiter were truly outrageous. We would have liked to stay longer, but that was no longer possible after the incident.

Beer and food are one of the best in the city. Guess only German restaurant at the city centre that serves food past 11PM. They have a night menu though! But a decent spread 😊

Beware of this establishment if you are not German speaking. Post our meal we requested the bill, we were asked if it was cash or card, we said card, the waiter refused to give us the bill, and said if we pay by card we will receive a receipt once we've paid. We refused to pay without a bill as we became suspicious. The waiter then tossed the bill at us, there were two extra charges and when we queried this a colleague was sent to our table, she used her telephone to deduct the extra charges and charged our card accordingly. We were clearly intentionaly overcharged and our departure was extraordinary uncomfortable and embarrassing.

I highly recommend this brewery in downtown Munich. My wife and I reserved a specific table for Saturday evening at 10 p.m. Since we couldn't make it, we asked to reschedule for half an hour. We were told it wouldn't be a problem. When we arrived, our desired seat was still available, even though the brewery was very full. The hot food was very good at this late hour, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely visit this brewery on our next visit to Munich. The value for money is still good here.

The Wednesday offer of schnitzel for €12.90 was really very good and sufficient. The service was also very polite. BUT there is (at least) one point deducted for the condition of the toilets. The paper dispenser obviously hasn't worked for a long time and unfortunately there wasn't a replacement (in the men's toilet). The toilet facility is also in urgent need of renovation.
