This is for tourists. But not for Munich residents. The beer glass is only 2/3 full Portions are so small that you need double. Can be forgotten. NO REPEAT

As usual, terrible treatment from the waiter even though he doesn't have much to do, he is irreverent and has to take the orders in a hurry. Menu only in German. He mimics the orders even when speaking to him in English. He explains himself in approximate Italian and doesn't understand a thing.

Friendly service, good beer, good food

The restaurant deserves a plus point for the kitchen, which stays open very late, so you can still get something to eat after going to the theater after 10 p.m. The ambience is also very nice, traditional, but you can't get a beer under 0.5l, which is expensive and the glass isn't even filled to capacity. Unfortunately the food was very greasy and a bit bland. The waiters were friendly, but didn't really seem to be trying hard.

Tastes very good, but rather smaller portions. Otherwise great atmosphere and friendly service.

Bright guest room, a little away from the big tourist crowds, but still very central. Inexpensive lunch special, the special is from PepsiCo (SchwipSchwap).

A great restaurant, great decor, the terrace is also nice. The food is good, the beer is very drinkable, but very poorly poured. What's nice is that it's not so crowded at lunchtime. A bit expensive but it's okay in the city center. Our waitress was super quick and always attentive.

Cozy pub with good food and service

Very nice decor and a great place to try German fare. Do try the Kristal beer, it's very interesting. The pork knuckle was intriguing and the mushroom soup was great. Good service and great atmosphere!

The waiter takes the guests from the door to the seat. Therefore, there are no searching guests wandering through the restaurant. The service was friendly and worked quickly. Food and drinks met my expectations.

Nice brewery, but it disappointed me. Delicious beer. I ordered a large portion of dumplings with mushroom sauce and only got one dumpling. Unfortunately I didn't get enough of it and I don't think it's fair for the price. How could the portion be even smaller? The waiter seemed rather demotivated and didn't even bring us cutlery or ask if the food was good or ask again when we paid. very unfortunate. I'll probably come back to drink beer, but I'd rather get food at another brewery :)

Very nice staff. Ambience was ok, unfortunately not an old building basement, but a designed new building. Kitchen even late. Food was good, standard brewery standard.

We found this place by luck, the food was excellent, the service was excellent and very accommodating. We had 8 people in our party. The beers were fantastic. We ate lunch there and it was great to be able to sit for a little bit and take a breather. There was no rush to get us out of there and it was a busy day. The snitzel was excellent.

Quite small, manageable portions. You shouldn't be very hungry. Tastes good, but way too many onions on the Wallberg burger. There wasn't enough in the 0.5 liter beer. Service is dull, unfriendly and only focused on quick ordering. Tourist brewery. Probably zero locals in attendance. Typical ambience to be expected. Toilets including hand basins dirty. We will not be guests again.

The location is located in Munich's most lively city center, so it is recommended to come during off-peak hours to enjoy your meal. The space and decoration style of the store are very elegant, and overall it gives people the feeling of being in a spacious Bavarian country restaurant. Here you can taste delicious Bavarian cuisine, and most importantly - have a glass of Bavarian beer🍻🍻🍻. The waiters in the store all wear traditional clothes and speak fluent Bavarian. (English can also be communicated) It is highly recommended for tourists who want to come to the center of Munich to taste Bavarian wine and food to replenish their energy with a meal, and then continue traveling through this beautiful ancient city of South Germany with a long history.

I don't know why, especially considering the location, but it's very quiet here and everything seems a bit unmotivated! You get the feeling that every employee is waiting until the end of work! Atmosphere is missing! The beer was very good!

Bad service and they rip you off with drinks. Depending on the waiter, they charge you one price or another. They don't give you a receipt for payment.

Tourist trap!! Beer poured poorly - not for the first time, the glasses were only 80% full, AT EXPENSIVE PRICES ANYWAY! The main course consists mainly of side dishes, you have to look for meat. Complaints are accepted without accommodation.

Service very nice and attentive. Nice typically Bavarian atmosphere. The beer very good. The food tastes very good BUT these are children's portions.!!! Leaving the restaurant hungry after eating is not good. The waiter saw it that way too...just said the chef wanted it that way... You can quench your thirst here, but not necessarily hunger...

Unfortunately the worst brewery on our trip. I had moldy bread with my sausage salad and unfortunately the service wasn't convincing either. In addition to the beautiful ambience, the “not interested” attitude of the service clearly ruined my visit. Go to another brewery!

Zufällig dieses Lokal in münchen endeckt.und es war ein Volltreffer. Auch der Service war ein Volltreffer volle 10 Punkte mit Sterchen wir wurden von Joe bedient ein lustiger Mensch. Speisen alle von sehr guter Qualität. Unser Tipp sind Schweinshaxe und Sparerips zu jeweils 19,90€ Wir kommen auf alle fälle wieder bei unseren nächsten münchen Trip.

Discovered this place by chance and it was a direct hit. Service was also a win. We would be served by Joe. Cool, funny person. Tip pork knuckle for €19.80 and delicious spare ribs for €19.90 We will definitely come back on our next trip to Munich

Food not good - soup tasted like from a powder, pretzels hard like a stone. Staff rude and made us feel like we are not welcome at all. Do not recommend.

Quality of food is amazing, and very nice service.

We visited these premises after enjoying a visit to the Bräustüberl in Tegernsee a week previously. We ordered two drinks but on paying, noticed the price was much dearer than it should have been. When queried, the waiter initially laughed it off, telling me this was how much the drinks cost, but as I questioned it further the price miraculously dropped on his tablet to the correct price. Other customers had noticed this and commented it was clear he was trying to overcharge us, no doubt with a self imposed tip we had not agreed too. To make matters worse, after this embarrassing situation, and being caught out by us, he asked us if we wanted to pay a tip!! It all left a bad taste in my mouth. The waiter was a con artist and customers here need to he aware of this practice to avoid being cheated. Better still, go somewhere else. It has totally spoilt how I view this brewery.

Super friendly service, even at peak times no one shows any stress here. The rooms are nice and bright and open, you don't sit crammed together in the dark. I ate here twice, both times great, would come back at any time!

Fantastic food, beer and service. Much nicer than some of the busier beer houses slightly closer to marienplatz (it's only 3-4 mins walk, so not far by any means!) Highly recommend, I will be going back again!!

Finally things are running as usual again. Jason Bardis is back. When he's on vacation you notice a big difference. Under his management the inn has a different character. Everything works as it should. We always like to come.

Indecent service, our order was not even finished and the waiter was already walking to another table to take another order. We understand when it is busy that work can be done in a hurry, but hearing an order properly is really the minimum I expect when I go out to eat. Food is good, beer tasty too. Too bad the service makes it a negative experience. Waiters who served other tables seemed friendly, just bad luck for us I guess with that one.

We chose him because he was the only one who could give us dinner at 10:30 p.m. Once at the table, when we wanted to order, a waitress told us very rudely “five minutes”; I thought, did you say a minute, a moment? No, I had said five minutes. Later, I wanted to order just the drink and he didn't even answer me, turning away. When after 15 minutes a waiter served us, he was very kind, we ordered the drink and food, but the drink took another 15 minutes to arrive. Shortly afterward came dinner, perhaps the worst I had ever had. A soup flavored with artificial powder and absolutely hard meat, impossible to cut with a knife. Maybe it would have been better to stay without dinner or to have returned to the hotel and ordered something from Room Service.

Cola had almost no carbonation. Colorful daily lettuce was oily with some brown stalks in it. A completely normal portion of fries that came later was lukewarm. Toilet condition is terrible. Dispenser defective, soap dispenser defective. Faucets without handles.

During our recent stay in Munich, we dined here on two occasions. The tastiness of the food (especially the apple strudel and the fries) and the conviviality and helpfulness of Roland, a staff member, made these dinners both enjoyable and a nice respite from our travels. We highly recommend!

Short and sweet! I was sitting at the bar with my girlfriend. Half-full glasses at the bar were cleared away, poured into new glasses, topped up with the tap and distributed to new guests! Better go to the brewery next door. Disgusting and I'm probably not the first to experience it. People often talk about stale beer here. This can be explained wonderfully with my observation!

I was there in the evening, there were a lot of people regardless of that the manager wearing a blue vest managed to find us a sit quickly, he made our night. Overall the service was excelent and the beer was ecen better! I would go back.

My visit from Berlin and I were totally satisfied! The food was tip top! We had the tartare, the cheese dumplings and the Braumeisterschnitzel. Everything was very delicious. Considering that you are in the middle of the city center, the prices are also ok. Our waiter Roland was super nice and very accommodating. Unfortunately, I'm no longer used to that in restaurants in the city center.

Best beer, fair prices for downtown Munich

The service is quick and friendly. The schnitzel we ordered was more like cream mushrooms with knöpfle with a few Alibi chicken pieces.

This afternoon (2:30 p.m.) at dinner. Waiter was waiting for him (tables IN FRONT of restaurant) moderately attended. Yawning emptiness in the restaurant... 2:50 p.m. Waiter takes drinks. 3:05 p.m. Waiter brings drinks. Notes in the menu: some dishes can no longer be ordered after 3 p.m.! Ordered food, cheese sparrows without onion (my God... horrible!), no taste, no seasoning. A mess... searched for salt & pepper, discovered 4 tables away & borrowed it. After a while the waiter comes and mentions that you could have said RIGHT when you ordered that you needed salt and pepper.. Toilet not very clean. Roof garden closed (today 07/16/24, 30°) Waiter says: it will NOT be open this year!!! So what??? I praise the “original” at Tegernsee. Food good, service on the ball and also a great view of the lake. A pity!

We were in Munich on June 21st, it was around 10PM after we're done wandering the beautiful Old Town, it's time for dinner. And what's more of a German experience than enjoying our wurst and beer next to the Marienplatz? A once in a lifetime experience, or atleast that's what we thought. The restaurant was full, football fans were watching their teams playing in a EUROs night, the referee then whistled the end of the game and fans started to leave, we thought well let's enter now or atleast ask the waiter to reserve a table... It goes downhills from there. Long story short, the waiter was rude, disrespectfully answering our inquiry as if he was enacting an old grudge against us or something. We left immediately. In fairness, I can't generalize about the whole staff, as another waiter was there to calm things up. Kudos to him. We came expecting the best food and drink in Bavaria, but this experience (or lack thereof) almost made us dislike Munich (it didn't).

Not only was the service quick and friendly, the beer also went down quickly - the pork knuckle was huge, with a perfect crust and the crispy fried celery schnitzel was also excellent 👍 and good value for money.

I am not satisfied with the waiter who took orders today. I ordered a radler and he brought a beer and argued that it was a radler and that he poured it himself. He also brought drinks that we did not order and said that we did. The service is just terrible. I will never come here again. The waiter behaves very badly. I do not recommend this institution to anyone.

Very poor food quality. The dish I ordered looked good at first sight. However, as soon as you ate part of it, the inedible part became apparent. When I paid, I had the dish returned, but had to pay half because I had already eaten part of it. Disgraceful and incomprehensible.

Went here for dinner. Two students and two pupils. Food was great, if you come from Bavaria it was just below average, it's just mass processing. Beer is way too expensive but that's normal in Munich. When paying with a card, the waitress wanted to know if I wanted to pay appropriately, which I said yes. I immediately received a biting, ironic comment: "Thank you very much for the tip, gentleman!" I actually left enough money in your tourist trap, as a student I don't have unlimited money and I actually planned to give him a cash tip. Of course not anymore after that. Pretty embarrassing, but the store has enough customers... The bonus star is only given for the good beer, otherwise avoid it if you don't have visitors from America and want to give them the illusion of an "authentic" Bavarian meal.

I quite enjoyed eating there. Staff was friendly, beer was quite good, and there was a large selection of good dishes. I had a Gröstl, which is a pan with potatoes, meats, mushrooms and egg, it was quite big and filling.

The food was consistently subpar. Seriously?!

I asked for the bill and indicated we would be paying by visa. He brought the machine over, breifly presented it while I tapped. Upon completion he quickly whisked the terminal away. At my brief glance of the total it seemed higher than expected. I waited several minutes for him to come back after disappearing and asked for the receipt. His demeanour immediately changed and said that the extra charge was for service. I then asked if the 10% service fee was mandatory or he clicked it before presenting the machine. He then proceeded to say that its normal in Germany to include 10% evading my question. Upon further confrontation he admitted it is not mandatory but continued to insist it's expected. He said if I didn't like the service I could get it back. He then gave me the difference back in cash ruIuctantly. I explained what he did was sneaky and wrong, that selecting a tip amount before passing along the machine is the equivalent of theft. He got visibily upset and walked away. He tried to steal, got caught and wouldn't admit wrongdoing. Avoid this place.

Cancellation of the reservation without giving reasons. Quite difficult to find an alternative for Saturday evening during the European Championships.

Stopped in for a beer and I am glad we did. The quality of beer is very evident. Everything we tried was pretty stellar. Our service was quite friendly and pretty funny. We did not eat here but the food looked and smelled incredible. Would definitely if I am ever in Munich again.

I have been here a few times… because the beer is good. Generally, the service is good with a good connection between staff and customers. Food is generally good too.
