Xaver's in München

Schnitzel is very tasty, the atmosphere is really harmonious and the staff is particularly friendly. Would go there again when I'm in Munich

Love this place and have been a few times over the last weeks. Excellent atmosphere and fast and friendly service. The food is delicious, especially like the Tartar appetizer. The pork roast is tender and light and the duck was one of the best I had in a long time. Will for sure be back again.

The description says you attach great importance to organically certified ingredients and drinks. Unfortunately there is not a single organic drink. More transparency would be great, as corresponding prices are charged. I find the explicit emphasis on the 2 hour slot rude.

It was a very nice place and we could have a nice beer there. Service was fine but not great.

Very nice restaurant. Unmotivated service. Waited 30 minutes for 4 white sausages, then got 3, one of which was no longer edible. (sour+musty=old). 4. Sausage delivered after 15 minutes...no excuse. Not recommended.

We would have liked to get to know Xaver's and wanted to register for lunch with 13 people. Unfortunately, we were informed that for this group size we would have to spend a minimum of €35 per person. Since we are all pensioners, we find this requirement outrageous and discriminatory. Not all of us want or can afford that lunchtime. Apparently the operators can do without 13 guests. Too bad! For me this is the wrong concept of the inn!

We received the recommendation for the restaurant from ChatGpt. While strolling through the city we happened to walk past and take a look. A reservation is mandatory. We were only lucky enough to get a table for the following evening. We ordered the Wiener Schnitzel. This has really been excellent. Super thin meat with a sautéed breading. Probably the best thing I've ever eaten. The restaurant is very nicely decorated. A great mix between traditional and modern looks. So great. The only things that are a mystery to us are the drink prices and the note on the card “entertainment costs”. There were no drinks listed on the menu. After paying for the meal, we had to pay another €16 in addition to the meal (where the price was known) even though we only drank a beer and an apple spritzer. We couldn't fully understand that and we consider it to be quite a lot.

We were greeted with the information that we had to leave after 2 hours. We didn't have anything else planned, but that created a bad mood at the start with the motto: we just want you to pay, then we'll leave quickly so that we can make more sales. We had a relatively small table, quite narrowly placed and the volume was such that every time the other person said something, you had to ask what he said 2/3 times. A meaningful conversation was not possible. Most of the food was excellent, but the side potatoes were completely unsalted and some of the Kaiserschmarrn was still liquid. That's better!

Without question - one of the best pubs in the city. Great ambience, great service and great cuisine. Always my pleasure!

Unfortunately I can't do anything other than give it two stars. We went to Xaver's for a meal with the company. I had by far the worst roast pork I have ever eaten to date. The roast, the sauce and the two dumplings had absolutely no taste. When the waitress asked me as I was clearing away whether everything was okay and I answered with an honest "No, unfortunately not at all", my answer was just smiled away with a bit of embarrassment and uncertainty. Since the meal was at the company's expense and the other dishes were fine (according to my colleagues), I'll give it two stars in the interest of fairness. However, I won't be going to Xaver's again either privately or professionally, as Munich has far better inns to offer with a far better price-performance ratio!

Nice experience in Munich, quick pit stop to refresh after 4 hours in the city. Local beer, nice service, we got the table even without the reservation. And the snacky snacky for today was brilliant - bio kasekrainer with gurke..nice, soft and cheesy... like heaven and perfect size if you don't want to eat too much just snack.

There were not many options for food, but the atmosphere and service were high quality.

Unfortunately I can't agree with the positive reviews. We were there at the weekend and had the roast pork - the meat was slightly fried and the sauce that came with it came from the package, or rather it tasted very much like it. For €20.50 I expected a lot more and in terms of quality it just wasn't up to par. It's a shame, because the ambience and service are great.

The most cozy atmosphere, the best food thanks to selected ingredients and suppliers in organic quality (flagship!) and ice-cold Augustiner - rounded off by the staff who are always in a good mood. We're always happy to be there!

Excellent meals with pure organic products are offered here. Be sure to try the tartare as a starter and order the divine Kaiserschmarren for desert (one portion is easily enough for 2 people) On my next visit I had a whole organic char from Schliersee with leaf spinach and potato salad for lunch - simply delicious 😋

Nice, well-kept Bavarian inn with extremely good food. Highly priced but worth the money. Also popular with tourists due to its central location. Often very busy, reservations are strongly recommended. Very attentive, friendly service in traditional clothing. Overall, recommended for those who are looking for very good quality Bavarian and Alpine cuisine and are willing to pay a premium for it. The only irritating thing here is the use of the idiot apostrophe in the name. People have gotten used to it at hair salons now, but why at a place like this where a lot of thought has obviously been put into it?

Really nice, upscale inn with excellent cuisine. The portions are more than sufficient. We had the trio as a starter, the char, fried chicken and the chocolate mousse. Very nice service and upscale ambience.

Xaver’s impresses with its modern-rustic ambience, which perfectly combines tradition and contemporary elegance. Particularly noteworthy is the delicious starter with three homemade spreads - especially the aromatic pumpkin cream, which is a real highlight. The main course with tender Schliersee char was perfectly fried to perfection in fresh butter. At the end there was a gnocchi mousse au chocolat - served fresh from the large pot at the table! A wonderful overall culinary experience!

Steph, Chrisa, and the Xaver’s Staff, thank you so much for the amazing hospitality! We had an incredible time at this modern German beer hall. We arrived at 9 p.m. and got a table right away. The service was fantastic - friendly, knowledgeable, and spoke English really well, which was a huge help for us. They even gave us some fun spots to explore around town. The food was absolutely delicious! We tried the Bavarian Duck and Weinerschnitzel. The duck had a fantastic sauce and a hearty portion with tangy cabbage and riced potatoes. The Schnitzel was light, salty, and had a really great cranberry sauce to dip in for a new flavor. And of course, the beers on tap were amazing! The Helles was crisp and delicious, and my wife said she had one of the best Reislings of her life. This was our first stop in Munich, and it will definitely be hard to top.

The fish just need more salt....but it was cooked perfectly. Bar tender was nice.

Wonderfully renovated Augustinian restaurant in the middle of the city center. Run by young landlords with young, very committed and motivated staff. Food selection for a pub is ambitious and very tasty, always of good quality. Excellent selection of wines that you wouldn't expect in a classic pub. The highlight is definitely not just the wonderful ambience in the restaurant itself, but also the extremely friendly and fast service. An absolute recommendation!

Rarely have I had such bland pancake soup and there is much better roast pork. The Kaiserschmarren was good.

You can eat authentic Bavarian food. I think reservations are essential, the atmosphere is nice and the servers are friendly. As a woman, the amount of regular-sized food was a bit large. I think the average size is appropriate for men. The food was delicious, but I think it's okay for a one-time visit.

The quality of the ingredients for the dishes ordered was good, but there is still a lot of room for improvement in the preparation. Hardly any seasoning may seem more in keeping with a general taste, not ours. We cook ourselves often and with the best ingredients. A duck should be browned all over, a basic principle of duck preparation. Roasted ingredients, spices, pepper and salt would make a roast pork a real pleasure. Perhaps these comments can serve as inspiration.

Xaver's is really the best place for me when I want good Bavarian cuisine. And for me it's just another really great aspect that I get the meat from an organic farm. I have never had better Kaiserschmarrn. And such friendly people. Top.

Nice place. Attentive staff. Unfortunately… mediocre food at quite high prices. Even the Kaiserschmarrn was bland and unimaginative. There were four of us and we only ate cheaper main courses and drank beer or spritzer. The bill for this… 200 euros. Others can do it better!

Beautiful classic style beer hall: wood is predominant and makes you feel at home. The menu is typical Bavarian but executed with great care and quality. The wine list is excellent, out of the ordinary I would say. Good service.

Nos enteramos de Xaver directamente del propietario mientras visitaba Oktoberfest y nos invitó a pasar. ¡No decepcionó! Comimos muy temprano porque la única hora de reserva en línea era a las 5 pm, pero había varias caminatas durante nuestra hora con ellos. Deberías hacer reservas para cualquier cosa más tarde. Esta es la comida clásica alemana con algunos giros. La tartera de carne fue la mejor que tuvimos en Munich Esto fue seguido por la ternera en una salsa con zanahorias y guisantes y algunas patatas au ralladoras increíbles. La ternera estaba ligeramente seca, pero cortarla en rodajas finas, remolinarla en la salsa y luego agregar una papa al bocado lo hizo increíble y literalmente limpiamos el plato con nuestro pan. Nuestro camarero era encantador y sombreros de Jacob el propietario. Mi único negativo realmente era la ubicación es simplemente “bien” desde un punto de vista de ambiente y sí permiten perros en el patio exterior, que normalmente estoy bien, pero anoche el compañero de la cena peluda era un molesto yapper : )

Wir hatten bereits bei der Reservierung schriftlich angegeben, dass wir mit einem Kinderwagen kommen würden. Leider wurden wir an einen Tisch gesetzt, der keinen Platz dafür bot und inmitten des Restaurants stand, so dass sich ständig Personen am Kinderwagen und uns vorbeidrückten, keinesfalls eine angenehme Atmosphäre in der man lange verweilen möchte. Als wir noch ein paar Minuten auf einen Freund warteten und erst einmal nur Wasser bestellt hatten, wurden wir mehrmals genervt von Kellnerinnen angesprochen, von denen uns eine unhöflich fragte ob wir vor haben würden mehr als Wasser zu bestellen. Der Service war anschließend miserabel. Nachdem wir das Essen bestellt hatten erhielten wir überhaupt keinen Service mehr. Das Essen war teilweise gut, teilweise nicht gut (u.a. den Kaiserschmarrn können wir nicht empfehlen, der Salat mit Hirse war in Ordnung). Wir werden aufgrund des mangelhaften Services nicht wieder kommen. Einen Pluspunkt gibt es für den Wickeltisch auf der Damentoilette und die dort bereitgestellten Windeln.

Not only were we contacted by phone before the day of our reservation to say that we only had the table available for two hours, we were also informed again when we arrived in the second set that we would have to leave the table at 8 p.m have to leave at least two more times during the evening. So you don't really feel wanted as a guest. In addition, there were two stalks in my side salad, which doesn't exactly reflect careful preparation of the meal. Unfortunately I can't recommend this restaurant.

I was one of the first customers at Xaver`s and have always felt comfortable. Service and ambience are top. But actually all Augustiner restaurants have this to offer. But there's a huge problem with the food: the menu doesn't change a bit: roast pork, fried chicken, tartare, salad, Kaiserschmarrn, ... Prices are 25% higher than other Augustiner restaurants. I then decided on the dish of the day to have a little variety: Käsekrainer with potato salad. I stupidly didn't ask about the price. Judge for yourself / picture attached / € 17.50. And the wooden barrel beer comes just before 8 with 15 liters. I'll be happy to come back once you've returned to the Augustinian ideals.

We were very happy with the food at Xaver’s. The service was quick and friendly. The food tasted good and was plentiful. Great praise for the fact that a lot of it is organic, so the prices are completely reasonable.

The food and ambience were OK, the menu balanced. The service staff seemed poorly organized and not customer focused. Despite several small faux pas (not bringing a card or taking an order, forgetting some of the drinks, etc.), each time an indifferent reaction followed instead of a short apology. It's a shame that the service drags down the overall experience.

Das Xaver liegt unweit vom Marienplatz, Plätze außen sind ausreichend und gut im Schatten ! Essen ist nicht günstigen aber gut ! Tageskarte spareribs waren top aber etwas spärlich.

Delicious meal with pleasant company

We were here for a business lunch. The atmosphere is very nice, but at first I had long black hair in my salad - this was only commented on with an "oh". The salad was then replaced upon request but there was no gesture of apology. In addition, the snack board only comes with a small slice of bread (in 2 halves), which of course is not enough for sausage, cheese, obazda, tartare, etc.: so we ordered 2 more bread baskets. The surprise on the bill was that each bread basket (without saying this when ordering) costs €2.50 extra. For me it's just a ploy to make more profit. The focus here is on maximizing sales and not on the guests, so unfortunately no recommendation.

Price-performance ratio is not right. Prices too high even for us as Munich residents. For a salad (with chicken) that costs €24, an extra €3 for 3 mini pieces of bread is simply cheeky!

we were there on August 3rd. there. Not right at lunchtime. Many tables were filled. Nobody made us aware of the long waiting times. In the end we waited an hour for our food. (Schnitzel and meat patties with potato salad) ... in my opinion it's a no-go not to point this out to customers. But food was good.

Unfortunately I have to make a negative comment here. We sat down at one of the many free tables and were sent away again, apparently it was reserved... The neighboring table had already complained that they had been waiting for their order for 50 minutes. A pity

I can't really rank this place since we were there on a street event (organized by them). There was a Bavarian band playing, and the atmosphere was great. The staff was nice and cheerful. The food offered for the occasion was limited to a couple of choices, and the quality was really mediocre.

Great food. We really enjoyed the roast beef. The service was friendly and quick. Unfortunately the portion was a bit manageable. For 31 euros I expect a meal that will fill me up.

I love this place. It’s a youth / modern uplift of traditional Bavarian/Munich bar & restaurant. The staff is very qualified , friendly and quick. The food is great and the beers are always cold & fresh, especially when they are served from the wooden barrel “Holzfass”. A must visit in Munich with great outdoor spaces and nicely decorated interior spaces.

If it weren’t for Xaver’s, the neighborhood would be missing something. It was a summer festival again and, as always, there was a wonderful atmosphere.

This is a fantastic spot for enjoying authentic Bavarian dishes and German beer. I had a great time for lunch there, enjoying the cozy, traditional atmosphere. I am always a fan of the German beer! Tartar and schnitzel from another star. Highly Recommended. Unfortunately there were some problems with the service on the second visit. "Forgot" reservation, waiter inattentive.
