We had a Negroni as an aperitif, steak tartare (as a main course), a bottle of Amarone, and Kaiserschmarrn for dessert. Absolutely top quality, very delicious, and the dessert was enough for two people to share. Very friendly, courteous, attentive, and quick staff – simply superb.

Went there for lunch today. Roast pork was okay, but nothing special. The sauce was thin, you could even call it "juicy." The meat was tender, but the flavor was okay. The schnitzel with fried potatoes was also okay. You can definitely stumble into it. The service and atmosphere were great!

The food was okay, but there's no lunch menu. The fried chicken was a bit too crispy. €27 for lunch unfortunately doesn't offer good value for money.

We arrived at 5:00 PM with four adults and two children without a reservation and were given a very friendly welcome. Our order with various special requests was also acceptable. One criticism of the food was that the roast pork had at most been flash-braised and was more rare than medium. I found it unreasonable that the children's portion of schnitzel for a seven-year-old was charged €25.50.

The interior designer was definitely more talented than the chef. The food (on Thursday evening, soup and fried chicken) was very modest, so you really shouldn't go there. I wouldn't recommend it.

Xavers used to be really delicious, but now, in my opinion, it's one of the worst restaurants in Munich. The cheese spaetzle was absolutely tasteless—as if they had simply been warmed up. The salad would have been better served separately in a bowl; then maybe at least the dressing would have been a little highlight—but unfortunately, it wasn't. The potato salad also tasted like it came straight from a plastic container. Overall, just disappointing.

For a €20 roast pork, I simply expect more. I didn't like it. But the service, ambiance, and drink prices were completely fine.

A local we met on our flight to Munich recommended Xavers to us for an authentic dining experience- and we were NOT disappointed! The food, ambiance and service all exceeded our expectations! So much fun with our server Andre! He explained the menu- and gave great recommendations! Loved it and will def visit again on our next visit!

What an amazing restaurant. A real gem. We had 7 different dishes and they were all delicious. I had the veal schnitzel and it was perfect! The location is also amazing. Simply beautiful! The service was very attentive and fulfilled our every wish. If you're looking for a good Bavarian restaurant in Munich, this is it! The price-performance ratio is definitely justified! I'd say around €20-€40. Depending on what you eat. Important! You definitely have to make a reservation! Thank you!

This place came highly recommended for it's traditional Bavarian food and didn't disappoint. High quality food and excellent flavours, I found it all delicious and am already considering coming back to try some of the other dishes.

One of the few remaining authentic Bavarian restaurants. Wonderfully fresh, cold Augustiner beer, decent food, truly excellent Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle). And friendly service; they still train their staff here! It should be a model for all other Bavarian restaurants in the city center that think they can make enough money from tourists, who can serve them anything. Bravo!

"Xaver's" is a modern, cozy restaurant with a sidewalk terrace. The four of us dined here on September 8, 2025. The reservation worked, and we were greeted and served warmly. The snack board was a sight to behold, and the value for money was excellent. Everyone enjoyed everything, and we would happily recommend the restaurant!

The food is very good, fresh, and simply delicious. Reservations are essential on weekends. Service is friendly and prompt, and the large staff means there are no long waits.

The starters (beef tartare and pumpkin/bread salad) were excellent, but the main courses were not. The roast beef with onions was tough, flabby, and had far too little sauce. The pumpkin dumplings were too dry. What a pity!

We sat outside, right on the street, so there was plenty to look at, but of course, you didn't get the atmosphere of the inn. The service was friendly and quick, as it's always busy. The cheese spaetzle were unfortunately a disappointment for me: dry and rather tasteless. On the plus side, however, they were served with salad, which is by no means standard.

The service was friendly and generally decent, but unfortunately, the experience was rather disappointing. We were sold very expensive drinks without being informed of the prices beforehand. The shots ended up being more expensive than our food, which was a shock. The food didn't taste good enough for the price, and it arrived cold and had to be reheated. The atmosphere was otherwise decent, but overall, it didn't make up for the shortcomings. I wouldn't come back for dinner, except for a beer.

Positives: Wonderful terrace and pleasant atmosphere. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. The food was mixed: The roast pork had excellent, tender meat with a perfect crust – the craftsmanship was excellent. Unfortunately, the side dishes were disappointing: the sauce was too thin and the bread dumplings weren't convincing. The service could be significantly improved – both the speed and coordination left something to be desired. Overall, a place with potential, where the cuisine is partially convincing, but still has room for improvement.

Beautifully decorated inn, very friendly, attentive service, and truly excellent Bavarian cuisine. The beer glass isn't just placed in front of the guest, but is carefully turned toward the guest. Please keep it up!

I was at Xavers in Munich the day before yesterday and was completely thrilled. The food was simply perfect – authentic, fresh, and prepared with love. The service was warm, attentive, and left nothing to be desired. I would also like to particularly highlight the beautiful ambiance: cozy, stylish, yet typically Bavarian. You immediately feel welcome and at home. A truly fantastic restaurant that I can wholeheartedly recommend. I will definitely be back!

Great dining experience with friends. We had 4 adults and 3 children (ages 6-8). We sat outside, and while the tables are somewhat close to a side road, it was still quiet and traffic was not noticeable. The service was friendly and attentive. Food was absolutely delicious and so fresh. The only downside, which would have been great to know beforehand - the staff refused to split the check (even straight down the middle) for payment. With 2 families, this was an inconvenience.

The worst roast pork in Munich, for over €20. Just fat, tendons, and bitter sauce. The coleslaw was good. The service is friendly, but they don't care how the food was when they clear it almost full. For the price, you would have expected more professional service and less standard fare. The location is good, on a side street near the Viktualienmarkt.

Upscale Munich tavern cuisine with a contemporary twist! It felt like a lot of locals were there, and the atmosphere was great. We had the artichoke with herb vinaigrette (very tasty) and outstanding bread, followed by the ox cheek sandwich, which was also sensationally good. The service was also very friendly and attentive. I can recommend Xavers without reservation.

Yesterday, eight of us went to Xavers with a reservation. Unfortunately, the service was not commendable. The two waitresses seemed listless and in a bad mood. No smile, no friendly greeting. There are no drinks listed on the menu. When I asked what beer selection they had, the server briskly replied, "Augustiner." Then, upon further enquiry, he listed all the varieties. What was served was König Ludwig Weissbier, not Augustiner. The same thing happened again when one of us, who was late, asked for a beer. The food was okay, but rather small, despite different prices for small and large portions. A large Wiener Schnitzel made from organic veal cost €34. A small jar of cranberries, a few roasted potatoes that tasted reheated and were partially burnt. According to the menu, the prices already included the service charge. No one asked if I enjoyed the food. But now for the kicker: I decided not to tip for the reasons mentioned above. The server took 50 euros in cash from me, and I waited with my wallet open for the change. He then jingled some change in his wallet behind my back and suddenly disappeared without saying a word. I've never experienced anything like that before. I only said "please," not "that's right!" or anything like that. I didn't want to shout afterward. Conclusion: I won't be visiting Xaver's again in the future, nor will I recommend it to anyone. There are countless much better restaurants in Munich if you can live without organic food.

Very tasty food (albeit a bit pricey) and spectacular Kaiserschmarrn. However, everything took a very long time (even the simple dishes), which didn't bother us much that evening.

No rez, pero nos sentaron con el entendimiento de que necesitaban la mesa en 1. 5 horas. ¡No hay problema! Sí, este es un restaurante ocupado, y sí, los camareros están ajetreados. Pero no están demasiado ocupados para seguir atentos y proactivos, por ejemplo, para pedir recambios de cerveza o vino. Tienen a Augustiner oscuro en el grifo, que fue una gran victoria para mi papá. Nuestras comidas eran abundantes, muy bien plateado, y absolutamente delicioso. Llevo décadas viniendo a Munich, y la de Xaver fue una sorpresa maravillosa. Muy recomendable!

The place has this really cool, modern Bavarian design, sleek but still cozy. What really stood out was the atmosphere… it was full of locals, which always says a lot. You could tell this is one of those places people from the neighborhood genuinely love. It made the whole vibe feel warm and alive. The staff were amazing, super friendly, attentive, and just good energy all around. It felt natural, not over-the-top, just genuinely nice people who enjoy what they do. And the food? Honestly, everything we had was delicious. You could taste the care in each dish. It wasn’t trying too hard, just really solid cooking with great flavors. Xavers just gets it right! great setting, great people, great food. Definitely coming back.

Mi compañero pidió una pieza de schnitzel — hay una opción para pedir 1 o 2. Buena idea es pedir una porción grande y compartirla, y obtener algunos lados. Viene con ensalada de patata alemana.

Service was at times very inattentive. Portions were very small for the price. We had three asparagus spears and a small piece of fish. The schnitzel and ham also only had three asparagus spears.

Dear Team, We were in Munich for the first time today and, based on your recommendation, were very much looking forward to our meal. Unfortunately, our visit was overshadowed by a poor service experience. Our waiter, Ivan, forgot our ordered appetizer. When the main course was served and we asked him about it, we only received a curt response asking if we still wanted the appetizer. There was no apology. We had the distinct impression that our food would either be thrown away or reheated for us. As a result, we forwent our appetizer – very disappointing, as we were particularly looking forward to it. After the meal, Ivan offered us a chocolate mousse, which, however, was no substitute for the forgotten appetizer. When we asked him to at least remove the fries we had ordered as an apology, he responded with a shake of the head and ignorance. When we paid the exact amount and – given the service – deliberately left no tip, he openly expressed his displeasure. All in all, it was a very disappointing experience. We would have expected a friendlier and more service-oriented approach from a restaurant of your caliber.

It's been a while since I ate at Xavers... As always, it was very nice. Good food, very attentive service and the atmosphere was relaxed. We were 5 people (3 from Düsseldorf and Belgium) and feedback was very good!

We had a really good time at Xaver’s: the food was good, the service was kind (although we had to wait long for our dishes, but the place was crowed, it’s understandable). I also really liked the interior: very cosy! The price is a bit higher than average (Schnitzel around 35€, we ended up paying 50€pp) and the food was good but maybe not such a great quality/price ratio. Overall still recommended, but possibly not the most convenient.

Outdoor terrace, lunchtime. Salad with goat cheese without dressing and bread, even though it wasn't very busy, it took 3 requests and 10 minutes for the dressing to arrive. Side dishes for the main courses were polenta (lumpy and bland) and mashed potatoes (watery and without seasoning). Cevapcici was ok, beetroot skewer excellent and special. Long waiting times, the service in our area was catastrophic, inattentive, forgetful. Overall, you can get it better and cheaper in any village pub.

We were there for lunch. We had good expectations from the high ratings. Unfortunately, these were not fulfilled at all. We were seated at a table near the toilets, which always smelled unpleasant. Overall it was very loud in the restaurant. The waitress was completely impossible. The food took almost an hour and we only received it after complaining. The food was ok, hence 2 stars. We also had to ask several times to pay to be billed. The highlight was when she gave herself a tip that was 5 euros higher. The card reader is handed to you upside down so you can't see the amount. When I noticed, she gave it back in cash. We won't come back.

We had reserved and were seated in the empty guest room, right next to the toilets. We would have liked to sit at another table, but that wasn't possible, but during our stay the dining room remained empty and the free bar was full. It's a shame we didn't get the place we wanted. I asked for a little bit of bread and received a single very small slice of bread. In the end, I was charged an additional €2.80 for this as a ‘bread basket’.

Wir hatten zur Vorspeise 3erlei vom Gschmiertes und von der Tageskarte jeweils einen Backfisch, beides wirklich sehr lecker und empfehlenswert. Augustiner frisch gezapft vom Fass ist immer ein Genuss. Leider war der Service eine große Enttäuschung für uns. Der Empfang war noch sehr freundlich und wir bekamen einen Platz draussen direkt mitten Geschehen und wir hatten einen guten Überblick. Die erste Bestellung ging auch sehr schnell, dann war es aber leider vorbei und es fühlte sich niemand mehr zuständig für uns. Unser Essen hatte man leider vergessen und wir mussten, wie auch bei der nächsten Runde Getränke, dem Servicepersonal laut rufen, damit sich überhaupt jemand zuständig fühlte. Nach unseren Eindruck war der Service auf Stammkundschaften sowie zufällig vorbei kommende Bekannte fokussiert. So will man als Gast nicht behandelt werden.

The evaluation of this restaurant requires some specifications: The food is quite good: some dishes are closer to our tastes such as the schnitzel, others much less such as the sausage salad which I do not recommend for Italians. The environment is characteristic with Bavarian customs but it is dark and cramped. Terrible service, even more so for Italians who are always treated with disdain. In fact we didn't leave any tips. They serve late. We last. The arrogance of the waiters is unbearable. They feel superior but at the moment they are waiters who serve professionals.

If you can describe the store in two words, it's more appearance than reality! If you want traditional Bavarian cuisine, you shouldn't eat here. A disaster in terms of taste. I've never eaten such greasy spinach and wild garlic dumplings before. There was no wild garlic and it only tasted like melted cheese. The breading on the fried chicken was rock hard, taste was lacking. Too bad, too bad, too bad. We prefer not to talk about the service. At least the waiter who served us was unfriendly and arrogant.

The Xavers on Rumfordstrasse is a completely successful, modern-rustic inn with charm. The ambience stylishly combines Bavarian cosiness with an upscale, contemporary look - you immediately feel at home here. I was only there for a few beers, but the perfectly tapped Augustiner Hell alone was worth the visit. Plus a pleasantly mixed, relaxed audience and extremely attentive and friendly service

Unbeatable Kaiserschmarrn in the Xavers Wirtshaus I was recently at Xavers Wirtshaus and tried the Kaiserschmarrn – and it was simply heavenly! The dough was perfectly fluffy and golden brown, with a delicious, fruity plum jam and powdered sugar to round it off. The Kaiserschmarrn is definitely a highlight of the menu and an absolute delight. The inn also has a cozy atmosphere and the service was friendly and attentive. I can recommend it to anyone looking for a traditional, delicious Kaiserschmarrn!

This was our first time at Xaver's and we both loved the food! Everything organic and freshly prepared! So the prices are definitely justified. For me the portions were sufficient, for men who are very hungry it could be a little more. I also recommend reserving a table, as Xaver's is very popular (especially on Saturday evenings).
