Xaver's in München

A very nice evening. The waiters were super friendly and funny. The Kaiserschmarrn was amazing. Very good food. We had four wonderful hours at Xavers that flew by. You should definitely try it.

Service was at times very inattentive. Portions were very small for the price. We had three asparagus spears and a small piece of fish. The schnitzel and ham also only had three asparagus spears.

Dear Team, We were in Munich for the first time today and, based on your recommendation, were very much looking forward to our meal. Unfortunately, our visit was overshadowed by a poor service experience. Our waiter, Ivan, forgot our ordered appetizer. When the main course was served and we asked him about it, we only received a curt response asking if we still wanted the appetizer. There was no apology. We had the distinct impression that our food would either be thrown away or reheated for us. As a result, we forwent our appetizer – very disappointing, as we were particularly looking forward to it. After the meal, Ivan offered us a chocolate mousse, which, however, was no substitute for the forgotten appetizer. When we asked him to at least remove the fries we had ordered as an apology, he responded with a shake of the head and ignorance. When we paid the exact amount and – given the service – deliberately left no tip, he openly expressed his displeasure. All in all, it was a very disappointing experience. We would have expected a friendlier and more service-oriented approach from a restaurant of your caliber.

It's been a while since I ate at Xavers... As always, it was very nice. Good food, very attentive service and the atmosphere was relaxed. We were 5 people (3 from Düsseldorf and Belgium) and feedback was very good!

Outdoor terrace, lunchtime. Salad with goat cheese without dressing and bread, even though it wasn't very busy, it took 3 requests and 10 minutes for the dressing to arrive. Side dishes for the main courses were polenta (lumpy and bland) and mashed potatoes (watery and without seasoning). Cevapcici was ok, beetroot skewer excellent and special. Long waiting times, the service in our area was catastrophic, inattentive, forgetful. Overall, you can get it better and cheaper in any village pub.

We had a really good time at Xaver’s: the food was good, the service was kind (although we had to wait long for our dishes, but the place was crowed, it’s understandable). I also really liked the interior: very cosy! The price is a bit higher than average (Schnitzel around 35€, we ended up paying 50€pp) and the food was good but maybe not such a great quality/price ratio. Overall still recommended, but possibly not the most convenient.

We were there for lunch. We had good expectations from the high ratings. Unfortunately, these were not fulfilled at all. We were seated at a table near the toilets, which always smelled unpleasant. Overall it was very loud in the restaurant. The waitress was completely impossible. The food took almost an hour and we only received it after complaining. The food was ok, hence 2 stars. We also had to ask several times to pay to be billed. The highlight was when she gave herself a tip that was 5 euros higher. The card reader is handed to you upside down so you can't see the amount. When I noticed, she gave it back in cash. We won't come back.

We had reserved and were seated in the empty guest room, right next to the toilets. We would have liked to sit at another table, but that wasn't possible, but during our stay the dining room remained empty and the free bar was full. It's a shame we didn't get the place we wanted. Food was ok. you can get something similar somewhere else. Quality. What was irritating was that the fried potatoes had the skin on. No go unfortunately, ordered light twice, each time the bottom was 2 fingers wide. However, I paid for the full glass, a shame.

Unfortunately quite disappointing. Overall, the service took quite a long time and wasn't overly friendly either. The beef tartare wasn't cheap but tasted good! I asked for a little bit of bread and received a single very small slice of bread. In the end, I was charged an additional €2.80 for this as a ‘bread basket’.

Wir hatten zur Vorspeise 3erlei vom Gschmiertes und von der Tageskarte jeweils einen Backfisch, beides wirklich sehr lecker und empfehlenswert. Augustiner frisch gezapft vom Fass ist immer ein Genuss. Leider war der Service eine große Enttäuschung für uns. Der Empfang war noch sehr freundlich und wir bekamen einen Platz draussen direkt mitten Geschehen und wir hatten einen guten Überblick. Die erste Bestellung ging auch sehr schnell, dann war es aber leider vorbei und es fühlte sich niemand mehr zuständig für uns. Unser Essen hatte man leider vergessen und wir mussten, wie auch bei der nächsten Runde Getränke, dem Servicepersonal laut rufen, damit sich überhaupt jemand zuständig fühlte. Nach unseren Eindruck war der Service auf Stammkundschaften sowie zufällig vorbei kommende Bekannte fokussiert. So will man als Gast nicht behandelt werden.

The evaluation of this restaurant requires some specifications: The food is quite good: some dishes are closer to our tastes such as the schnitzel, others much less such as the sausage salad which I do not recommend for Italians. The environment is characteristic with Bavarian customs but it is dark and cramped. Terrible service, even more so for Italians who are always treated with disdain. In fact we didn't leave any tips. They serve late. We last. The arrogance of the waiters is unbearable. They feel superior but at the moment they are waiters who serve professionals.

If you can describe the store in two words, it's more appearance than reality! If you want traditional Bavarian cuisine, you shouldn't eat here. A disaster in terms of taste. I've never eaten such greasy spinach and wild garlic dumplings before. There was no wild garlic and it only tasted like melted cheese. The breading on the fried chicken was rock hard, taste was lacking. Too bad, too bad, too bad. We prefer not to talk about the service. At least the waiter who served us was unfriendly and arrogant.

The food was good, but unfortunately it was cold. The service left a lot to be desired - we had to wait an unusually long time for both the drinks and the food and were reminded several times. That was definitely the last time at Xaver's.

The Xavers on Rumfordstrasse is a completely successful, modern-rustic inn with charm. The ambience stylishly combines Bavarian cosiness with an upscale, contemporary look - you immediately feel at home here. I was only there for a few beers, but the perfectly tapped Augustiner Hell alone was worth the visit. Plus a pleasantly mixed, relaxed audience and extremely attentive and friendly service

Unbeatable Kaiserschmarrn in the Xavers Wirtshaus I was recently at Xavers Wirtshaus and tried the Kaiserschmarrn – and it was simply heavenly! The dough was perfectly fluffy and golden brown, with a delicious, fruity plum jam and powdered sugar to round it off. The Kaiserschmarrn is definitely a highlight of the menu and an absolute delight. The inn also has a cozy atmosphere and the service was friendly and attentive. I can recommend it to anyone looking for a traditional, delicious Kaiserschmarrn!

This was our first time at Xaver's and we both loved the food! Everything organic and freshly prepared! So the prices are definitely justified. For me the portions were sufficient, for men who are very hungry it could be a little more. I also recommend reserving a table, as Xaver's is very popular (especially on Saturday evenings).

Service is attentive and friendly, food arrives quickly and tastes great, it was relatively busy and therefore not particularly quiet, but not disturbing either.

Today was my first and last visit to Xaver's. How they come up with the stars is truly a mystery to me. I've been to many Augustiner restaurants, and you can usually rely on a reasonable price-performance ratio there, but unfortunately, in my opinion, not here at Xaver's. I'm happy to spend a few euros more for good food... unfortunately, it's not worth it here. The fried chicken was still slightly raw inside and not enough to fill you up - what felt like 2 kilos of potato salad couldn't save it either. The Kaiserschmarrn for 14 euros is no better when it comes to portion size. In my opinion, it's more show than substance, given the bold promises on the website. Thank goodness there are very good Augustiner alternatives in Munich! You won't see me again.

A really special experience at Xavers. We were there on a Saturday evening and I called several restaurants to try and get a spot. The courteous staff first told me that there was no space, but then CALLED BACK to tell me that there was a workaround. We then sat at a long table, a bit cramped but great in a lively and harmoniously furnished restaurant. The schnitzel and Handel are good, the cheese spaetzle is great and the wild garlic and spinach dumplings and the Kaiserschmarn are an absolute dream. A big recommendation goes out. We paid 30-40€ euros with several drinks and dessert. You can therefore get by with €20-30. Thank you very much, dear Xavers, for the lovely evening!

Erneut spontan ohne Reservierung in der Woche abends besucht und nur mit Glück einen Platz ergattert, am besten vorab reservieren. Wiener Schnitzel extrem gut, Kaiserschmarren kaum zu toppen, kann man sich gut zu 2 Personen oder auch 3 Personen als Dessert teilen. Überwiegend einheimisches Publikum, guter Service, recht ruhiger Geräuschpegel für ein Wirtshaus, angenehm. Kommen gerne wieder!

The food is fine but overrated and in my opinion overpriced, If you are looking for absolute authentic Bavarian food, you have to look somewhere else. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is very nice.

Ohne Reservierung geht hier wie so oft nichts. Sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter, wobei Lederhosen als Arbeitskleidung etwas zuviel Lokalkolorit für mich sind. Dafür ist es nicht zu laut und Unterhaltung ist möglich. Im Hochbetrieb klappte das mit den Bestellungen verbesserungswürdig, es gingen Getränkebestellungen verloren und die Hauptgänge wurden nicht abgerufen. Mit kurzer Erinnerung aber alles lösbar. Der Salat mit Backhendl war erfreulich gross, auch wenn der Salat schon etwas schlaff war schmeckte die Kombination mit dem leckeren Backhendl sehr gut. Der Kaiserschmarrn war ausgezeichnet, bestens karamellisiert und mit knackigen Rosinen sehr gut abgestimmt - keine gestockte Fertigware und auch perfekt angerichtet. Das geht nicht besser und hebt das Restaurant sehr deutlich von anderen ab. Die Preise sind fair. Sehr gerne wieder.

Love this place and have been a few times over the last weeks. Excellent atmosphere and fast and friendly service. The food is delicious, especially like the Tartar appetizer. The pork roast is tender and light and the duck was one of the best I had in a long time. Will for sure be back again.

The description says you attach great importance to organically certified ingredients and drinks. Unfortunately there is not a single organic drink. More transparency would be great, as corresponding prices are charged. I find the explicit emphasis on the 2 hour slot rude.

It was a very nice place and we could have a nice beer there. Service was fine but not great.

Very nice restaurant. Unmotivated service. Waited 30 minutes for 4 white sausages, then got 3, one of which was no longer edible. (sour+musty=old). 4. Sausage delivered after 15 minutes...no excuse. Not recommended.

We would have liked to get to know Xaver's and wanted to register for lunch with 13 people. Unfortunately, we were informed that for this group size we would have to spend a minimum of €35 per person. Since we are all pensioners, we find this requirement outrageous and discriminatory. Not all of us want or can afford that lunchtime. Apparently the operators can do without 13 guests. Too bad! For me this is the wrong concept of the inn!

We received the recommendation for the restaurant from ChatGpt. While strolling through the city we happened to walk past and take a look. A reservation is mandatory. We were only lucky enough to get a table for the following evening. We ordered the Wiener Schnitzel. This has really been excellent. Super thin meat with a sautéed breading. Probably the best thing I've ever eaten. The restaurant is very nicely decorated. A great mix between traditional and modern looks. So great. The only things that are a mystery to us are the drink prices and the note on the card “entertainment costs”. There were no drinks listed on the menu. After paying for the meal, we had to pay another €16 in addition to the meal (where the price was known) even though we only drank a beer and an apple spritzer. We couldn't fully understand that and we consider it to be quite a lot.

We were greeted with the information that we had to leave after 2 hours. We didn't have anything else planned, but that created a bad mood at the start with the motto: we just want you to pay, then we'll leave quickly so that we can make more sales. We had a relatively small table, quite narrowly placed and the volume was such that every time the other person said something, you had to ask what he said 2/3 times. A meaningful conversation was not possible. Most of the food was excellent, but the side potatoes were completely unsalted and some of the Kaiserschmarrn was still liquid. That's better!

Without question - one of the best pubs in the city. Great ambience, great service and great cuisine. Always my pleasure!

Unfortunately I can't do anything other than give it two stars. We went to Xaver's for a meal with the company. I had by far the worst roast pork I have ever eaten to date. The roast, the sauce and the two dumplings had absolutely no taste. When the waitress asked me as I was clearing away whether everything was okay and I answered with an honest "No, unfortunately not at all", my answer was just smiled away with a bit of embarrassment and uncertainty. Since the meal was at the company's expense and the other dishes were fine (according to my colleagues), I'll give it two stars in the interest of fairness. However, I won't be going to Xaver's again either privately or professionally, as Munich has far better inns to offer with a far better price-performance ratio!

Nice experience in Munich, quick pit stop to refresh after 4 hours in the city. Local beer, nice service, we got the table even without the reservation. And the snacky snacky for today was brilliant - bio kasekrainer with gurke..nice, soft and cheesy... like heaven and perfect size if you don't want to eat too much just snack.

There were not many options for food, but the atmosphere and service were high quality.

Unfortunately I can't agree with the positive reviews. We were there at the weekend and had the roast pork - the meat was slightly fried and the sauce that came with it came from the package, or rather it tasted very much like it. For €20.50 I expected a lot more and in terms of quality it just wasn't up to par. It's a shame, because the ambience and service are great.

The most cozy atmosphere, the best food thanks to selected ingredients and suppliers in organic quality (flagship!) and ice-cold Augustiner - rounded off by the staff who are always in a good mood. We're always happy to be there!

Excellent meals with pure organic products are offered here. Be sure to try the tartare as a starter and order the divine Kaiserschmarren for desert (one portion is easily enough for 2 people) On my next visit I had a whole organic char from Schliersee with leaf spinach and potato salad for lunch - simply delicious 😋

Nice, well-kept Bavarian inn with extremely good food. Highly priced but worth the money. Also popular with tourists due to its central location. Often very busy, reservations are strongly recommended. Very attentive, friendly service in traditional clothing. Overall, recommended for those who are looking for very good quality Bavarian and Alpine cuisine and are willing to pay a premium for it. The only irritating thing here is the use of the idiot apostrophe in the name. People have gotten used to it at hair salons now, but why at a place like this where a lot of thought has obviously been put into it?

Probably the most beautiful Augustinian stub in Minga. You feel really comfortable there and the food is world class.

Xaver’s impresses with its modern-rustic ambience, which perfectly combines tradition and contemporary elegance. Particularly noteworthy is the delicious starter with three homemade spreads - especially the aromatic pumpkin cream, which is a real highlight. The main course with tender Schliersee char was perfectly fried to perfection in fresh butter. At the end there was a gnocchi mousse au chocolat - served fresh from the large pot at the table! A wonderful overall culinary experience!

Steph, Chrisa, and the Xaver’s Staff, thank you so much for the amazing hospitality! We had an incredible time at this modern German beer hall. We arrived at 9 p.m. and got a table right away. The service was fantastic - friendly, knowledgeable, and spoke English really well, which was a huge help for us. They even gave us some fun spots to explore around town. The food was absolutely delicious! We tried the Bavarian Duck and Weinerschnitzel. The duck had a fantastic sauce and a hearty portion with tangy cabbage and riced potatoes. The Schnitzel was light, salty, and had a really great cranberry sauce to dip in for a new flavor. And of course, the beers on tap were amazing! The Helles was crisp and delicious, and my wife said she had one of the best Reislings of her life. This was our first stop in Munich, and it will definitely be hard to top.

The fish just need more salt....but it was cooked perfectly. Bar tender was nice.

Wonderfully renovated Augustinian restaurant in the middle of the city center. Run by young landlords with young, very committed and motivated staff. Food selection for a pub is ambitious and very tasty, always of good quality. Excellent selection of wines that you wouldn't expect in a classic pub. The highlight is definitely not just the wonderful ambience in the restaurant itself, but also the extremely friendly and fast service. An absolute recommendation!

Rarely have I had such bland pancake soup and there is much better roast pork. The Kaiserschmarren was good.

You can eat authentic Bavarian food. I think reservations are essential, the atmosphere is nice and the servers are friendly. As a woman, the amount of regular-sized food was a bit large. I think the average size is appropriate for men. The food was delicious, but I think it's okay for a one-time visit.

The quality of the ingredients for the dishes ordered was good, but there is still a lot of room for improvement in the preparation. Hardly any seasoning may seem more in keeping with a general taste, not ours. We cook ourselves often and with the best ingredients. A duck should be browned all over, a basic principle of duck preparation. Roasted ingredients, spices, pepper and salt would make a roast pork a real pleasure. Perhaps these comments can serve as inspiration.

Nice place. Attentive staff. Unfortunately… mediocre food at quite high prices. Even the Kaiserschmarrn was bland and unimaginative. There were four of us and we only ate cheaper main courses and drank beer or spritzer. The bill for this… 200 euros. Others can do it better!
