Brunnwart in München

Tuvimos una excelente comida! Pedí el Zwiebelrostbraten y mi marido tenía el boloñés. El ambiente era pintoresco, y los precios eran razonables. No teníamos una reserva, pero disfrutamos compartiendo mesa con otra pareja (que casualmente se estaba retirando de los EE.UU. a Munich! ) El personal era amable y el servicio era excepcional. ¡Vete!

Ottimo cibo tedesco . Molto buona la vellutata di castagne e l’anatra . Squisiti i dolci . Veramente cortesi ci hanno offerto anche il tiramisù . Prezzo adeguato alla qualità .

Um es gleich mal vorwegzunehmen: Essen sehr gut und auch reichlich, Preise in Ordnung. Bedienung sehr freundlich und flink. Wir waren an einem kühlen Novembertag am Nachmittag im Gasthaus. Es waren nur 2 Tische belegt, was ja grundsätzlich nicht negativ ist. Aber es war praktisch nicht geheizt und es hat außerdem von der Tür her so wahnsinnig gezogen, so dass wir praktisch zwei Stunden lang gefroren haben - trotz anbehaltener Winterjacken. So stellt man sich keinen gemütlichen Aufenthalt vor. Bei allem Verständnis für Heizkosten-Sparmaßnahmen, so geht es nicht. Würde gerne wiederkommen, aber dann lieber in der wärmeren Jahreszeit. Vielleicht kann man diesbezüglich ja Abhilfe schaffen.!?

Super place to experience Munich cuisine. U know its good when u see lots of locals. Have to have the Pork Knuckle!! Started with a hearty beef broth with liver dumpling. Had a delicious hot chocolate pudding with vanilla ice cream (waitress recommended) to finish off. Overall, ist gut!!

Oh yes, now I could start every review of long-established Munich restaurants with “everything used to be better”. The Brunnwart is still a nice restaurant, but the days of moderate prices are long gone - they have now adapted to the general galactic price levels. Of course, the charming waiter from back then can't be there forever, but one would still wish for a little more personality in the service. Unfortunately, in recent years the Brunnwart has switched to more average food, higher prices and less warm service - what a shame!

Very, very nice restaurant, the food is great, the beer anyway! Only recommended! I just don't understand why they have Becks on the menu in Bavaria 😄

You should definitely stick to meat dishes! Goat cheese on rocket salad for €17. The salad was drowned in way too much very acidic dressing. The cheese is lukewarm and 2 thin slices of baguette. That's better!

Waren happy auch ohne Reservierung einen Tisch zu bekommen. Sehr freundliches Personal und aufmerksam obwohl sehr viel los war. Rasche Bedienung und die Küche war auch top. Super Speisenauswahl und das Münchner Schnitzel hat nicht nur gut geschmeckt sonde rear eine Mega Portion. Kann man nur empfehlen und wie kommen wieder.

El restaurante tiene comida extremadamente deliciosa, la visito regularmente cada vez que visito Munich. El interior del restaurante es de estilo bávaro, y el jardín es simplemente increíble y tiene mucha sombra natural, algo que es difícil de encontrar en una gran ciudad como Múnich. El personal es extremadamente amable y ordinario. en trajes tradicionales, cálido recomiendo este restaurante al que estoy feliz de volver, sin falta. . .

Bavarian restaurant in a historic building with a nice ambience and large beer garden. Good food at a reasonable price, friendly service and a pleasant atmosphere. Certainly an address where you can't go wrong.

Never 4.4 stars. This evening we were at the Brunnwart and had Kässpätzle and Jägerteller. Unfortunately, the Kässpätzle were covered in cheese. On my Jägerplatter, the pork fillet was very dry and the wild mushrooms were from a can... Actually a very nice location, but the cuisine is not good. On Friday evening it's not even half full...

What should I report on? About the delicious food - cream mushrooms and tiramisu on speculoos - or the excellent specialist who looked after my friend and I or about the Christmas decorations that can only be described as magical and not only make children's eyes light up? See for yourself and you will understand that you cannot decide. In addition, my most recent visit: This time everything was in male hands and the care was excellent. Only after my appointment was almost an hour late (can happen with older women, especially when the wristwatch has gone) and you are almost starving, does the very long wait this time become difficult and easy quite early on Cooled dishes were very unusual. I have been going here for around 15 years, both with family and big groups of colleagues. Their garden is really nice and they always deliver good food and service. Well worth a visit.

Lovely waitress who was attentive and despite language barrier, she understood our request. Menu has English translation so easy to figure out. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit!

Everything is delicious. The carrot and ginger cream was what we liked the most. The least of all, a dessert that was basically bread with huge vanilla sauce, yes hahaha as a funny anecdote, now, I would order another dessert next time hahahaha

Very nice atmosphere, excellent selection of local and international dishes. Staff is attentive and friendly.

We had to wait 10 minutes at the entrance even though several tables were clearly free. Furthermore, additional sauce was added to the yeast dumplings with sauce and charged extra. When we asked the waitress about it when paying, we were rudely insulted.

The blonde waitress was super nice, personable and customer-oriented, then we got a new waiter. He took longer to place his orders and asked for more tips when paying.

Unfortunately, the food was really just ok Sausage salad was bland...

We sat outside around 7:00 p.m. and got a table without waiting or making a reservation. After 2 hours your bottom hurts on the wooden chairs. The service was friendly. I have a dark light beer with my meal... It's confusing if you just want a real dark beer in Bavaria. The food was delicious. The different interpretations of spaetzle take some getting used to, but they go well with the food. I'd love to come back.

We left this place after 25 minutes just siting at the table. We were waiting 15 minutes to get a menu and then 10 minutes for beers. The place was half empty on friday evening. Poor service.

We have been here for dinner several times on business and it is a particularly beautiful beer garden in Munich. The food and drinks are excellent and the service is quick and courteous. We will definitely come back this year!

Nice atmosphere in the beer garden, which is very manicured and aesthetically pleasant. Staff is friendly, quick and attentive. And food, most importantly, is delicious. Fresh, abundant and pretty portions. I’ll go again and try the winter menu. Furniture is beautiful and authentic inside.

Great atmosphere and friendly, fast service. Unfortunately, I found the food (Bergbauernschnitzel) a bit disappointing. Fried potatoes boring and dry, the schnitzel carelessly prepared without sauce.

Excellent service, the staff was friendly and very helpful. Although the biergarten was crowded, we were served with a short and reasonable waiting time. Food quality was very good. Nice atmosphere, cool and relaxed.

Nice beer garden, quaint tavern. The food is solid, but now too expensive for what is on offer. I also find the presentation too simple, almost loveless. Service was top.

Authentic German fare at a reasonable price. We always try to pick a different dish with each visit. Service is fantastic, and after several visits, we feel a person warm welcome. As Americans, we travel to Munich often on business, and this is ALWAYS top choice when bringing a new co-worker.

This is a hidden GEM and I was lucky to have been told about it. I was in Munich for work and was staying at the Munich Marriott. My wife and I were walking around looking for a place to eat when a local started talking with us while we were looking at a menu of a corner establishment. He told us just down the road was a nice Bier Garten, out of the way but great. Great it is. Fresh beer and the food is awesome. Order the pork knuckle, you won't be disappointed. Thanks Brunwart for making this Floridian feel welcome.

There is nothing bad about the food, service and atmosphere. This is truly one of the most memorable restaurants I've been to in Germany. I recommend it. Be sure to visit. However, depending on your taste, the food may be slightly salty, so you should take that into account. German food is generally salty.

I have ordered 3 different dishes , everyone was with meat and potatoes. Potatoes were the worst one I have ever tasted. Meat also want good one. So the price and the taste are not comparable

Wir waren auf Durchreise und haben vorher reserviert. Das helle Bier war recht schnell am Tisch und die Bestellung wurde zügig aufgenommen. Wir hatten den Schweinebraten und den Zwiebelrostbraten. Beides von sehr guter Qualität. Beim Zwiebelrostbraten war für mich viel zu wenig Soße dabei. Auf Nachfrage kam ohne Probleme eine volle Sauciere mit der leckeren Soße. Insofern hat alles gepasst!

When it comes to the kitchen alone, the picture is extremely mixed: While the Bavarian schnitzel and the pasta with strips of beef were tasty and at least acceptably large, the hunter's plate was very manageable for the price, and when asked, I was told that the size of the pork medallions corresponded to the house's standards; However, I would be happy to prepare more meat for an additional charge. In order to fill myself up after these "senior plates", I decided on a pancake soup, but was very disappointed to find when it was served that the dried-out pancake strips contained seemed to be dying of loneliness and the contribution to my satiety would be limited. It's a shame, a beer garden with potential that, with a little more effort, could be just as buzzing as the neighboring Osterwaldgarten. So it's not surprising that there were plenty of free places to be found.

We spent a very nice evening here. Service was quick and friendly. The food came quickly. We had a roast pork and once the baked potato with salad and turkey breast stiffs. Everything beautifully prepared and delicious. Personally it was a bit too loud for us but the inn can't help it.

Overall, a good restaurant to stop by. Eat: Ordered, Munich schnitzel with fried potatoes. Good portion, decent schnitzel that tasted good. However, the quantity of fried potatoes was a bit low and they were more boiled potatoes than fried. Therefore, unfortunately, points are deducted here. Service: Friendly, but it always took a long time to arrive. Both when ordering and when paying, the time was unfortunately significant, there is room for improvement here. Due to the high number of visitors, it could not have been right. Beer garden was 50% full, inner rooms only 2-3 tables. Ambiance: Overall the restaurant is very nice. However, rather disturbing on the day of the visit. It was raining outside when we arrived, so we went inside. There was football going on here, unfortunately at a very high volume, which made it difficult to have a conversation. Very popular spot because of traditional German food and beer garden. Service is decent...more so if you speak German. The food is apparently good German food...if you like tge cuisine. Prices are reasonable compared NYC area

We went here for dinner as part of a business trip. It was great that we could still order a warm meal at 9 p.m. Friendly and attentive service team. Unfortunately very loud inside, but the furnishings are rustic and appealing. Food delicious. We'd love to come back!

Wir waren im Rahmen einer Dienstreise hier zum Abendessen. Toll war, dass wir auch um 21 Uhr noch ein warmes Essen bestellen konnten. Freundliches und aufmerksames Serviceteam. Im Innenbereich leider sehr laut, Einrichtung aber rustikal-ansprechend. Essen lecker. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Food is expensive for what it is

The one place where I always order a Münchner schnitzel. It's awesome there.

I had the menu that was only sold on Wednesdays. The schnitzel was sprinkled with pepper, so it was really delicious and not too salty. The potatoes were also really delicious, but I didn't know how much it was, so I just ordered it, but I think it would be enough for two people. The price including beer is 22.9 euros.

I find it audacious that you have to pay an extra €5 for a bit of cabbage when roasting pork. In every other restaurant you can get it for free as a side dish. Greed is the downfall of the restaurant industry.

Addendum May 2024: we were there again Here - with voucher book. Everything went quickly and friendly. The food was freshly prepared and was very hot. The cheese spaetzle could use more cheese. The salad with it was good. We sat all alone in the room. Cozy inside, outside with garden area. Super good Munich schnitzel.

Very friendly service. Great atmosphere, we were here for the first time. We stopped there in the pouring rain. Greetings to the friendly waitress, she said, always thinks about pizza (Magerita)🤗

The atmosphere is nice, the place is delicious, but the food is worth trying.

The price was reasonable and the service was good. Of course it tasted good too. During weekends when there are many customers, you may have to wait a long time after ordering.

Luckily reserved in a full pub. There were three of us and we all enjoyed the food very much. Our table was in the hall, where the acoustics were very loud. But you have to live with that in almost all larger inns. All in all, it worked out.
