We arrived without a reservation. We each ordered a beer and roast pork with red cabbage. The food was amazing. Crispy crust, extremely tender meat. Excellent beer sauce, and delicious dumplings. Highly recommended.

The restaurant is a fine example of Bavarian pub culture, although the frequency is already at the upper limit. The food was very good. Typical Bavarian cuisine, extensive menu, and plenty of choice. The service staff deserves special praise. Beautiful weather, a full house, and yet they weren't stressed or impatient; they were always clear, even if it would take a little longer for our food. Friendly, always making an effort to ensure that guests don't have to wait (e.g., we never had to wait to order a refill of drinks). Truly first-class; something like that is rare these days. I would make a reservation in the evening so you don't have to wait long, even though the business isn't small. Overall, I highly recommend it!

We ate at Brunnwart. I had roast pork with dumplings – unfortunately, the food was more cold than warm, and the roast itself was quite dry. The taste was okay, though. For dessert, we had apple strudel, which was really good and somewhat saved the whole thing. Overall, it was okay, but with a classic like roast pork, I expect more care in terms of temperature and preparation.

El lugar tiene grandes asientos al aire libre y ambiente fresco. El servicio fue horrible! Teníamos un camarero nuevo y era un desastre. Cuando le preguntamos qué recomendaría del menú, dijo que no lo sabía porque solo comía comida india. Pedimos un aperitivo de pretzel y vino el primer pretzel, y estaba frío y rancio. El segundo que trajo estaba caliente fuera del horno y era mucho mejor. Pedí el especial del martes que era un schnitzel que se suponía que tenía queso dentro y una corteza de pretzel. No era como el queso derretido. Era un montón de salsa de queso viscosa que salía. Las patatas eran increíbles. Pedimos un pedido para un amigo y luego decidimos pedir el postre que no tenía idea de lo que estaba hablando cuando hicimos cualquier pregunta sobre los postres. Cuando le preguntamos si el strudel de Apple se servía caliente, dijo que no todo estaba frío. Después de recibir una llamada que necesitaba para llevar a alguien al hospital le preguntamos si podía encajonar nuestro postre y traernos la orden de ir para que pudiéramos irnos. Dijo que no podían encajonar el postre y que no podíamos entender lo que seguía murmurando. Él sale con el postre preparado para llevar que estaba caliente después de todo lo que dijo que no sería y nunca trajo el pedido de comida para llevar que pedimos para nuestro amigo. Nunca había puesto la orden. Así que lo pone y tenemos que esperar más cuando tenemos prisa. No solo era un camarero terrible, sino que parecía que no tenían suficiente personal para el volumen de gente allí.

Carrots in the Fleischpflanzerl make the meat very chewy. I didn't like the food at all.

Been here twice, food's good and the service is alright. Drinks are ok, everything you'd expect from an established beer garden. Schnitzels are a gem, but the pork knuckle could do with more crisp, rather chewy for me on that day. Will return in the future to try other dishes for sure.

A nice evening with international colleagues. Luckily we got a table at short notice. Crowd mix of locals and tourists. Beer OK. Roast pork OK. Service friendly. For the fifth star, that special thing that would make me come back is missing. But otherwise solid German home cooking.

Unfortunately we didn't like the food. The pork knuckle was as if it had been warmed up, the skin was hard and tough. Fried potatoes only tasted like butter. The service was very good, the staff was very nice and on point. However, we will not be coming back.

The food tastes very good, Munich schnitzel is a dream!! Service is very friendly, always makes sure everything is ok. The beer garden is fantastic, with old chestnut trees. And now the minus point: you are not allowed to play cards in the inn, it is forbidden!! A great Bavarian inn where no nines are allowed...it's a shame that tradition was banned. Otherwise highly recommended!

Food was good but service ignored us and our empty drinks.

We came with our tour group therefore our meals were planned and we had an option of three items. The pork knuckle was delicious and the noodles with cheese and onion was very good but heavy for me. The salad and cabbage slaw that was served with the meal was delicious.

We stayed overnight in Munich while passing through (living in Hamburg). Of course we (2 adults and 2 children) also wanted to try the typical classic Bavarian cuisine and got a recommendation from the hotel employee where we stayed. He hadn't promised too much. The inn with a beer garden is located in a quiet residential area, we really enjoyed the Bavarian cuisine and the service was very friendly and exemplary. The price/performance ratio was more than reasonable. Unfortunately there wasn't enough for a classic dessert because we were more than happy and full. Nevertheless, this inn deserves a full 5*. An absolute recommendation.

Service is always very friendly. Food very good and moderately priced. Drink prices are papal. Franziskaner wheat beer, non-alcoholic, €5.70. Hallelujah. God bless him.

Nice place. We had lunch there. So it was still pretty quiet. Which was convenient for us because of a sad occasion. We were about 20 people. The food came quickly and we were all served at the same time. Ambiance was nice and rustic/Bavarian. The service was great and the staff was attentive and friendly. The food tasted great. If I'm in the area again and looking for a restaurant, I'll probably go there again 😊

Parking situation is rather poor. But you are warmly welcomed, given a table, very attentive service, "special requests" are implemented easily,... familiar... The food has now become a bit more expensive, but the quality, processing, size of the portions (including meat) and the taste really leave nothing to be desired. The menu is clear, but there is something for everyone (including vegetarians). Conclusion: Very inexpensive => it is really worth the price! Very happy again!

Had an amazing meal at Brunnwart! Ordered the pork, and it was unbelievably tender and juicy—cooked to perfection. To top it off, the apple strudel was simply amazing—super fresh, served hot, and full of flavor. Great atmosphere and friendly service. Highly recommend!

Tuvimos una excelente comida! Pedí el Zwiebelrostbraten y mi marido tenía el boloñés. El ambiente era pintoresco, y los precios eran razonables. No teníamos una reserva, pero disfrutamos compartiendo mesa con otra pareja (que casualmente se estaba retirando de los EE.UU. a Munich! ) El personal era amable y el servicio era excepcional. ¡Vete!

Um es gleich mal vorwegzunehmen: Essen sehr gut und auch reichlich, Preise in Ordnung. Bedienung sehr freundlich und flink. Wir waren an einem kühlen Novembertag am Nachmittag im Gasthaus. Es waren nur 2 Tische belegt, was ja grundsätzlich nicht negativ ist. Aber es war praktisch nicht geheizt und es hat außerdem von der Tür her so wahnsinnig gezogen, so dass wir praktisch zwei Stunden lang gefroren haben - trotz anbehaltener Winterjacken. So stellt man sich keinen gemütlichen Aufenthalt vor. Bei allem Verständnis für Heizkosten-Sparmaßnahmen, so geht es nicht. Würde gerne wiederkommen, aber dann lieber in der wärmeren Jahreszeit. Vielleicht kann man diesbezüglich ja Abhilfe schaffen.!?

Super place to experience Munich cuisine. U know its good when u see lots of locals. Have to have the Pork Knuckle!! Started with a hearty beef broth with liver dumpling. Had a delicious hot chocolate pudding with vanilla ice cream (waitress recommended) to finish off. Overall, ist gut!!

Oh yes, now I could start every review of long-established Munich restaurants with “everything used to be better”. The Brunnwart is still a nice restaurant, but the days of moderate prices are long gone - they have now adapted to the general galactic price levels. Of course, the charming waiter from back then can't be there forever, but one would still wish for a little more personality in the service. Unfortunately, in recent years the Brunnwart has switched to more average food, higher prices and less warm service - what a shame!

You should definitely stick to meat dishes! Goat cheese on rocket salad for €17. The salad was drowned in way too much very acidic dressing. The cheese is lukewarm and 2 thin slices of baguette. That's better!

Waren happy auch ohne Reservierung einen Tisch zu bekommen. Sehr freundliches Personal und aufmerksam obwohl sehr viel los war. Rasche Bedienung und die Küche war auch top. Super Speisenauswahl und das Münchner Schnitzel hat nicht nur gut geschmeckt sonde rear eine Mega Portion. Kann man nur empfehlen und wie kommen wieder.

El restaurante tiene comida extremadamente deliciosa, la visito regularmente cada vez que visito Munich. El interior del restaurante es de estilo bávaro, y el jardín es simplemente increíble y tiene mucha sombra natural, algo que es difícil de encontrar en una gran ciudad como Múnich. El personal es extremadamente amable y ordinario. en trajes tradicionales, cálido recomiendo este restaurante al que estoy feliz de volver, sin falta. . .

Bavarian restaurant in a historic building with a nice ambience and large beer garden. Good food at a reasonable price, friendly service and a pleasant atmosphere. Certainly an address where you can't go wrong.

Never 4.4 stars. This evening we were at the Brunnwart and had Kässpätzle and Jägerteller. Unfortunately, the Kässpätzle were covered in cheese. On my Jägerplatter, the pork fillet was very dry and the wild mushrooms were from a can... Actually a very nice location, but the cuisine is not good. On Friday evening it's not even half full...

What should I report on? About the delicious food - cream mushrooms and tiramisu on speculoos - or the excellent specialist who looked after my friend and I or about the Christmas decorations that can only be described as magical and not only make children's eyes light up? See for yourself and you will understand that you cannot decide. In addition, my most recent visit: This time everything was in male hands and the care was excellent. Only after my appointment was almost an hour late (can happen with older women, especially when the wristwatch has gone) and you are almost starving, does the very long wait this time become difficult and easy quite early on Cooled dishes were very unusual. But you can understand it, because the restaurant was packed and there were many larger groups. I'll still come back 😊

I have been going here for around 15 years, both with family and big groups of colleagues. Their garden is really nice and they always deliver good food and service. Well worth a visit.

Consistently good restaurant with beer garden along the park Opens early for dinner. Atmosphere is very laid back with plenty of space to sit inside,restaurant style, or out in the beer garden. Menu has something for almost every taste, including vegetarian options.

Everything is delicious. The carrot and ginger cream was what we liked the most. The least of all, a dessert that was basically bread with huge vanilla sauce, yes hahaha as a funny anecdote, now, I would order another dessert next time hahahaha

We had to wait 10 minutes at the entrance even though several tables were clearly free. Furthermore, additional sauce was added to the yeast dumplings with sauce and charged extra. When we asked the waitress about it when paying, we were rudely insulted.

The blonde waitress was super nice, personable and customer-oriented, then we got a new waiter. He took longer to place his orders and asked for more tips when paying.

We sat outside around 7:00 p.m. and got a table without waiting or making a reservation. After 2 hours your bottom hurts on the wooden chairs. The service was friendly. I have a dark light beer with my meal... It's confusing if you just want a real dark beer in Bavaria. The food was delicious. The different interpretations of spaetzle take some getting used to, but they go well with the food. I'd love to come back.
