Food was mediocre. Service was terrible - staff were not helpful and slow. Blond lady in glasses and vest was arrogant (tried ansking for help and she waved her index finger at me and walked away - thought she could have at least redirected me if it’s not her job) and unhelpful which made it a bad overall experience. Could have been a friendlier spot - please go to Hofbrauhaus instead for the best experience!

A spectacular place to eat delicious local dishes. The waiters who served us were very friendly, elegant, and kind. The food was served very quickly despite the restaurant being very busy and our group of over 30 people. 100% recommended without a doubt.

It's great that there are still restaurants where you can eat good Sauerlunge (a type of cured lung) with bread dumplings at a reasonable price. Nice atmosphere and friendly waiter. Keep it up! We'll definitely eat here again when we're back in Munich.

I'm consistently impressed by the food and the professional service. Even a reservation for over 30 people goes smoothly. The prices are fair, and the beer is delicious.

I had the roast pork, which was tender and a decent portion. The dumpling was lukewarm. The service was attentive and friendly. The light beer was cold and delicious. It was very crowded and noisy.

My first visit to Munich was amazing, and I was blown away by Augustiner Stammhaus! Located near the New Town Hall, the restaurant had a fantastic atmosphere, typical of Bavarian restaurants. The roast chicken had crispy skin and incredibly tender meat, not dry at all, and it was perfectly paired with a slightly tangy and refreshing potato salad. We also ordered apple pie for dessert, which was delicious. The beer was rich in malt flavor but not too bitter, a perfect complement to the roast chicken. However, the soup was a bit salty.

This is exactly what a Munich tavern should be like: traditional Bavarian, with wooden tables and benches, attentive service, and excellent, traditional food and drinks. An evening here is guaranteed to be enjoyable. The only minor drawback is that the beer could be poured more accurately. Prices are perfectly reasonable for central Munich.

The meat was delicious and the service was good. It's hard to find a table during peak hours. You have to go.

The waiter asked us to pay. After paying by card, I noticed that the waiter had given himself a €7 tip. Outrageous!

We left a small tip and the waiter began complaining it was too low, saying that people from our country (and two others) were "horrible" tippers. He then said "we shouldn't have allowed you to sit in our restaurant." This was in front of our small children. The service in his section had already been poor, with multiple tables complaining while staff seemed indifferent. Tips are optional. If they're mandatory, that should be made clear at the time of reservation. Horrible experience.

A very large restaurant with a great atmosphere. Well located and close to Marienplace. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The service from the waiters was very quick and attentive. A place to enjoy, have a very pleasant time, and one where you'll definitely want to return.

Lovely looking place but major issues. After being shouted at by one waiter not to sit in the reserved seating, I waited 20 minutes until I got the waiters attention. He told me that I’d have to leave as they were switching the waiters. Appalling service if you aren’t German it seems

The restaurant was slowly getting crowded during dinner time; people were mainly there for the atmosphere. The food was decent, but not so amazing as to warrant a visit. It's worth a visit for its historical significance. The staff were quite friendly. I recommend arriving early to avoid long waits. I only learned from reviews that this restaurant is located inside a historical site. It's quite unique.

Despite its size, the flagship restaurant shows me how successful gastronomy can be. The service is mostly friendly, but can be quite firm when reserved tables are occupied or tables are moved. The service is prompt and the food is good.

One of the best breweries in Munich. Very large, but with a labyrinthine layout, making it quite cozy. Good and relatively inexpensive food. Excellent service.

Quite centrally located, but not entirely convincing. We were a group of over 20 people and had reserved a month in advance via an online form that required a signature beforehand, as apparently many people cancel at the last minute. Our tables were free at our chosen time, and we were able to sit down immediately. The food was okay, but we've had much better Bavarian cuisine. We felt the staff was a bit stressed and overwhelmed, as clearing the tables took longer than expected, and we had to wait quite a while for our drink orders.

A typical spot with good food and unbeatable beer. A superb pork knuckle and a couple of Helles beers and you'll leave feeling refreshed.

A typical Bavarian inn in the center of Munich, known for its beer. Very busy on weekends. The food was good and typical Bavarian. The service was friendly. My conclusion: A good place for Bavarian flair and Bavarian pub fare. However, it's very crowded on weekends.

It's a very big place, the staff is very attentive. The taste is debatable. You shouldn't have too much expectation.

Food was fine for a beer hall, and once you get seated and settled at the beer hall the service was great, but the servers working the restaurant will literally tell you "I don't work here" and cold shoulder you like a 5 year old while they wear their Augustiner Stammhaus branded sweater vest and stare intently at the POS system. I'm sure they're plenty busy and get tired of telling people over and over there's a difference between the restaurant and the beer hall, but dude seriously needs to learn how to take a breath and act like a normal adult human, or hang up a sign. It's not difficult.

It's ok but overrated. You come to "check it off the list"

Staff is very rude (they force you to order a full course menu if you just come for dessert/bier/coffee dont come they treat very badly) there was a funky smell and ventilation system wasn’t good inside aannd i’ve been served a cold espresso. Although the interior is super nice i wouldn’t recomment this place at all.

I stopped here during a tour. The seating capacity is MASSIVE! I was with my brother who was visiting from the U.S. There was no wait to be seated. The menu is made in several languages and was very easy to read! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We had a platter with roasted chicken and pork with potato dumpling served with brown gravy. It was amazing! 🤩 Give this place a try.

We had a traditional Bavarian white sausage breakfast. What can I say? It was fantastic!

The atmosphere is great, high ceilings, old stonework – it really makes a statement. The food, however, is at best okay to below average for the price. Unfortunately, the service is quite unfriendly; everyone seems very stressed, even though the restaurant was perhaps only half full. The meals (for our party of six) all arrived at different times. Comments like "you can see I'm going to another table" were made several times. It's a shame, because they could have sold more customers otherwise. Only the bill arrived without delay.

I had a Weisswurst, but it was just okay. The mustard was delicious. The beer was also delicious. I bought a beer mug and a mustard container, but they said they don't sell the mustard containers anymore, so they gave me one of their old ones.

I regret to inform you that I must revise my previous five-star rating: Prices have spiraled completely out of control. The option to simply join a table (as they say in Munich) is now severely restricted. Pretzels on the tables have been removed since the pandemic. It's essentially just a tourist trap now. What a shame!

German cuisine is not my thing but the local atmosphere is very good

We walked in and were able to get a table. Warm greeting and polite waiter. Beautiful building. It was busy and buzzing, lovely atmosphere. Food was very good and didn't have to wait too long, considering how busy it was. I had the pork shank and my companion had the schnitzel with fries. Mine was delicious, the fries were ok. Yummy apple strudel with warm custard. Would recommend!

Compared to Dresden, Munich's Augustiner in the heart of "its" city is a big parody of a true Bavarian pub, with no atmosphere. Impersonal. Go elsewhere.

A typical Munich pub. Designed for mass production. Unfortunately, quite expensive for the quality offered. And why is a Russ beer only available by the liter? A good option if you want to grab a quick bite in a large group. Not recommended for a leisurely meal.

Beware metal pieces in sausages

The food was good, we got schnitzel which we liked, but duck was undercooked with overcooked cabbage which isn’t the greatest combo Beer were great But that was the worst part was service, where the rude waiter was demanding tips from us while in the beginning he literally throw the menu on us. But for the good side there was a very nice and funny gentleman of color who know how to make a service in a nice way, unfortunately he wasn’t no our table. If you can go to another place you better do as u don’t know which service you get there.

A classic brewery restaurant with an adjacent taproom for enjoying beer without having to eat. We ate in the historic central section of the restaurant, not far from a portrait of Franz Josef Strauss. The food was good, but not exceptional. The ambiance, however, more than made up for it. If you're looking for the spirit of a place, this is it.

The food was underwhelming. The decor was nice. One of the waiters was friendly, but some of the others weren't as attentive or welcoming. The sausage platter had a metal sausage clip that wasn't visible at first. You could damage your teeth on the metal or accidentally swallow it, which can be very dangerous, so be careful. Large portions, reasonable prices for central Munich.

Spectacular drinks had here. Staff were friendly and helpful and got us seated, beer was unreal good and the tapping of the barrels was great to watch. Plenty of locals and sone unusual characters in traditional dress!

Sausage patty burger, baked with cheese: Sounds like meat, right? Unfortunately not, just a dried-up cheese thing with salad. The accompanying coleslaw was pure horseradish, not really what you'd expect. The service was very unfriendly, both to us and to the neighbors. We pointed out the lack of meat and were met with aggressive dismissal. You can tell that tourist restaurants get new customers every day and don't rely on good food or service. A smaller, more secluded restaurant is definitely a better choice.

Everything was fine so far. However, the "Kaspressknödel" (cheese dumplings) aren't dumplings at all, but rather two slices of cheese. For someone who's hungry and paying €19.90, they should definitely order something else. The price-performance ratio is simply not right.

Tourist rip-off; two out of three beers weren't even close to being filled to the fill line. The waitress ignored my suggestion. :/ My meal, a pork chop, was okay, no complaints there. I am always dissatisfied when I visit Augustiner. The service is zero, the staff is unfriendly, and they served terribly low-quality beer. I don’t know — HB is much better than this. Train your staff more, teach them to say hello and to smile. Same situation in Berlin of the filial of Augustiner ((((((((( never visit.

Delicious beer and delicious food 👍🏻 Service is fast and polite.

A very cozy pub. We went there twice in one day. The beer was really good, and the light beer was even tapped directly from the wooden barrel. The bartender was incredibly fast; I've never seen anything like it. A true master of pouring! The food was very good, nothing extraordinary, but top quality, and special requests were no problem. The waiters were all friendly and efficient. I also liked that many locals frequent the pub—I think that speaks for itself. We'll definitely stop by again for a beer!

The beer and food here are really good. At lunchtime there aren’t too many people, but in the evening there’s usually a line to get inside. It’s definitely better to make a reservation in advance so you don’t have to wait too long. The staff are very polite and always do their best to find a seat for you as quickly as possible. The place has a traditional Bavarian beer-hall atmosphere, which makes the experience even more authentic and enjoyable.

The worst beer hall we've visited in Munich. They slapped us with a 25% tip. I don't recommend it at all. Plus, the dishes we tried weren't among the best we've had.

Highly recommended! The food is delicious, the service impeccable! We had a grilled chicken, a grilled knuckle, and a Leberkäse (meat loaf) menu. The grilled knuckle and the side dishes were excellent; the rind was perfectly crispy and the meat wasn't dry (I've never had that before). The grilled chicken was also perfectly crispy and the meat was juicy. The Leberkäse (meat loaf) tasted truly meaty. The beer was also very good, fresh from the draft. Although it's very large inside and busy, the noise level was fine. You could have a normal conversation. The service was also good, and the drinks and food came quickly. We didn't have to make a reservation; we could just sit at an available table.

Very disappointing service. We walked in and politely asked if we could have a table for two without a reservation. The waiter just told us to find one ourselves. Most tables had “reserved” cards on them, and although there were about a dozen waiters around, no one offered to help us. When we finally found a table without a reserved sign, a waiter nearby simply said, “These are reserved,” without any attempt to assist or explain. It was clear that they had no intention of serving us, so we decided to leave. Afterward, I checked the Google Maps reviews and noticed that many other Asian visitors experienced the similar kind of attitude. Very disappointing and unwelcoming.
