Kaisergarten in München

Acabo de tomar unas copas / almuerzo con mis 3 novias allí. Llegando alrededor de las 13: 45 . La revisión de google parece ser buena, sin embargo, llegó a ser la peor experiencia en Schwabing. No recomiendo venir aquí. La señora que tiene el pelo largo con gafas, alrededor de los 30 , muy poco profesional y antipática. Tuve la amabilidad de pedirle un cambio de 5 € como (2 - 2 - 1 ) para mi estacionamiento afuera ya que todavía tenía mi medio trago, entonces ella dijo “No tengo ninguna moneda, todo el restaurante, si quieres tienes que esperar a que llegue el siguiente turno que es un par de horas después”. Mis amigos y yo quedamos impactados por la declaración de “todo el restaurante no tiene monedas”. Cuando pagué, la cuenta era de 15. 60 €, ella intentó darme el cambio de cien pero luego me dijo: “No tengo céntimos que cambiar por ti”. No tenía ganas de que me obligaran a darle propinas, entonces le dije “pagaré con tarjeta entonces”. Ella dijo, “no es mi trabajo cambiar para la gente, puedes escribir cualquier opinión que quieras en Internet” aparte del lento servicio desatendido, estos trabajadores antipáticos no deberían estar ahí fuera. Las valoraciones generales de google no coinciden con las puntuaciones del servicio.

Reservations only for regular guests.

I would like to express my disappointment with our recent visit to this restaurant. Despite prior clear communication and the express request for individual à la carte orders, we were again only offered a 3-course menu. Our emails went unanswered, which suggests a lack of customer focus. This restaurant is therefore not recommended for groups that value flexibility and individual orders.

Nice place in a non-touristy neighborhood where we often have brunch. In spring/summer it is best with the external dehor. The waiters are almost always friendly, sometimes the high number of customers doesn't allow them the usual attention, but it's okay.

Very tasty food, pleasant interior, excellent beer. The waiter with the hat wasn't very friendly, but the blonde waitress was very nice

I've been to this restaurant three weeks in a row and each time I've ordered the Kaiserschmarrn portion for three people. I was thrilled the first two times - the Kaiserschmarrn was fresh, hot and tasted excellent. But my last visit was a disappointment. The Kaiserschmarrn arrived only lukewarm and tasted completely different than before. I suspect it wasn't freshly made this time, although the restaurant emphasizes that larger portions are always made fresh and therefore take 45 minutes. A clear indication: in the first two weeks the powdered sugar melted due to the heat of the Schmarrn - this time it remained unchanged. This fluctuation in quality is disappointing for me, as I had already chosen the restaurant as my regular visit for my favorite dessert. If the quality was consistently as high as it was in the first two weeks, I would come back regularly. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously, because my intention is not to keep guests away, but rather to promote consistently high quality.

"Oh, you're the ones with all the kiddies" was the greeting when we showed up for our reservation, which included one (!) child. The second sentence was “But you have to be gone again in 2 hours, because we are expecting a slightly larger group.” A “Welcome” or “Hello” would of course have been nicer. My companion and I were once rejected very harshly and in monosyllables when we showed up on a Saturday evening without a reservation. In general, you get the feeling that regular Schwabing customers are welcome, but anyone who gives the impression of a newcomer - or worse, a tourist - is treated curtly and condescendingly.

Been there again for many years and never before in winter. So basically a new experience: A little cool inside. No special lunch menu, but a small daily menu, roughly the same price as the menu. The service was initially attentive and responsive to each guest. When it was full later it was more of a challenge. My choice from the menu was tasty, although 'clear'. For me, prices and quantities don't match well, especially at lunchtime.

Unfortunately there is no real lunch menu, just a day menu. The prices on the day menu vary from just under €10 for a soup to €26.50 for a roast wild boar and you cannot find the day menu online either. Unfortunately there were no typical Bavarian dishes like goulash with bread dumplings or something similar. In addition, the outside door was open the whole time and most guests sat in the drafty interior wearing jackets or coats. The food was really nicely prepared, but the portions were far too small. In any case, I was still hungry afterwards. I praise the Hofbräu am Oberwiesenfeld and the Görreshof.

We had a really tasty meal. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the service is very friendly and competent. I had fried chicken with mashed potatoes and fried onions.

Nice little restaurant, atmosphere is great, great service, very attentive and nice. Our only place was in the corner... there we only had wooden benches... but the food was a dream, especially the Kasierschmarren

The three of us wanted to eat something without a reservation and were greeted so unfriendly that we immediately turned around. There was still space at many tables that the boss didn't want to see. So they were ignored at first and then turned around. As we walked out the door, he called after us to sit at the bar. Apparently people here are only nice to guests when they are already seated. They then moved together somewhere else. There is enough choice in the immediate vicinity. ;-)

I had to return the aubergine vegan dish. It had too much salt. It couldn’t be replaced since the mix had been done for the day.

Great local bavarian experience with good food, service and atmosphere

Great small restaurant. Be sure to call earlier because they are full. We have luck and two hours before next guest. Cosy and warm atmosphere. Kind waiters. Food was delicious. They have draft beer. And the prices are decent. Definitely place you want to visit.

We returned to the Kaisergarten after many years. It was just as nice as it was back then. We made a reservation in advance. And this time #Bigfoot and #Littlefeet were there. So the salad was great, my schnitzel with gristle or fat wasn't such a burner. The others were fine. But hey, 32 euros for a normal schnitzel with fried potatoes (possibly quite fried, even black - and with cranberries and horseradish cream), that's a bit much, isn't it? Be that as it may, service was attentive and good and also quick with second forks. The Kaisergarten is a good, but all in all expensive place. Oh well: there is no children's menu.

They warn you on the menu that this is a slow food place and boy, do they mean it! Took 2,5 hours to order and finish lunch, which was delicious. Dishes came out at different times so that half of us were almost finished before the others got served.

Food and ambience really great. Price/performance ratio, however, borderline.

A bit by chance, in this residential area, we walked into this restaurant... and we didn't regret it. Warm decor with large wooden tables. Welcome and smiling service. We chose to have brunch dishes which were very good and plentiful, but the rest of the more cooked dishes looked very good too. A very comforting address with more than cool weather! To recommend

Terrible experience. We (three younger people) went for something to eat in the evening. We all ordered normal food (schnitzel, fish fillet, etc. with drinks) after the service was really miserable (were ignored, salad didn't come after 4 times of asking, generally rude service), I tried to give our waiter constructive criticism after paying (since I've been there about 5 times before). We understand that things can sometimes go wrong in the catering industry, especially when it's busy. However, instead of apologizing politely, the waiter shouted at me about how I could allow myself to do something like that, what I was thinking and how I could denounce him like that. I was completely speechless how customers could be treated so condescendingly (just because we were students). We will never come back and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I ate here many years ago and fondly remembered the experience; the food in particular the kaiserschmarrn. I recently went again and was hugely disappointed. The service was very lacklustre; our waiter gave the impression he didn’t want to be there at all and he didn’t want us to be there either. Every request came with an eye roll. The spannferkl main was outstanding but the kaiserschmarrn, the whole reason why we were there, was stale and doughy. The parts that were meant to be crunchy were rubbery; it had clearly been made earlier and then just warmed up. Parts of the dish were still cold. It was already a red flag when the waiter told us it would just take 5-10 mins to arrive instead of the 45mins it said on the menu. Huge shame.

Experiencia brillante. Visitamos en un momento tranquilo y tuvimos 3 principales (cerdo x 2 y albóndigas de ternera x 1 ) y 3 postres (Kaiserschmarmn x 2 y una crema brûlée) . Todo absolutamente delicioso y muy bien presentado. Excelente servicio y probablemente la mejor comida que hemos tenido en Munich

The place is really nice and tasteful Nevertheless we were pretty disappointed about the food. I tried a salad , I think it’s called Waldorfsalad, and it was awful The service is also pretty wird. They are convinced they are veeery cool. I advise to just go and drink a beer, which tastes really good

If you choose a dish from the “Our Specials” category, expect a starter that is extremely manageable in size! The price suggested a main course. The restaurant is visually beautiful, the seats are rather uncomfortable and it is very loud in the room. The waiter is very rushed. It's all a shame.

Als Münchnerin bin ich seit Jahren Gast in dieser traditionsreichen Gaststätte. Doch das wird sich jetzt ändern, da ich diese Münchner“ Institution“ nicht mehr besuchen werde aus folgendem Grunde: ich habe noch nie einen schlechteren Service erlebt. Der Ober völlig lustlos, führte erst mal ca 25 Minuten lang seine privat Gespräche lauthals mit seiner Kollegin fort und aß von der Bartheke ,obwohl wir bereits 25 Minuten in einem völlig leeren Gasthaus am Tisch saßen . Die Aufnahme der Bestellung nahm er mit einer Null-Bock Haltung auf . Ebenso lustlos wurden dann die bestellten Gerichte gebracht. Die Suppe lauwarm , obwohl man extra vorab drauf hingewiesen hatte, dass man Wert läge auf eine heisse Suppe. Das andere Gericht absolut ungenießbar , so dass mein Mann es sofort zurück gab und auch eine Suppe bestellte. Der Supergau : die Rechnung wurde uns von dem unverschämten Ober mit der vollen Berechnung der ungenießbaren zurück gegebenen Speise präsentiert. So was haben mein Mann u ich als weltweit Vielreisende NIE erlebt. Einfach beschämend …. Wie auch die schnoddrige Haltung des Obers gegenüber unserer Kritik dass das nicht die „ feine Art „ sei. Fazit: das war’s dann wohl . 1 Stern ist für diese Art des Service schon zu viel !!

Nice old established economy, but unfortunately very poorly managed. We were there around 4 p.m., the restaurant was completely empty, but we were still ignored by the waitress for a long time. I even had my food returned because it was completely inedible, but I still had to pay for it. A special feature of the waiter was his “not in the mood” attitude. Well, if I could give 0 stars, I would happily do so

What a great gem of a place! We came in for dinner late on a Wednesday, and not only did we get amazing food and beer, but we also got delightful service: at once helpful and not invasive. The beef tartare was fresh but would need a bit more texture, salt, and acidity. My friend loved the cheese dumplings. Stroll around the neighborhood if you have a moment; it is delightful.

We had dinner in the Kaisergarten. The experience was quite manageable: the food was okay, although the schnitzel had been under the heat lamp for too long and the fried potatoes were completely burnt. The service was slow and attentive and quite rude. Three quarters of an hour passed between the starter and the main course. I didn't even expect dessert. Our waiter in particular might be able to score points with this style in a “chip shop”, but not in a restaurant that charges these prices for a mediocre schnitzel.

BEWARE RAT!!! I have to say in advance that I have been to the Kaisergarten a few times. The food, especially the schnitzel, was again very good today. But sharing food with a RAT is overkill at these prices. After we pointed out the RAT to the waiter and were about to leave, the (head) waiter came up to us and said in an impudent tone: “Play the piano. We know the problem, but we can't change it right now." I've never experienced such impudence...

Subterranean and rude service. Rat in the guest room. After a rat ran through the dining room and the service was made aware of it, they probably wanted to discreetly sweep the incident under the carpet. As we were leaving the restaurant, the head waiter came up to us and said in a rude tone that we should “play the piano”, that we knew the problem but there was nothing we could do about it and that we should leave quickly. They acted as if it was the guest's fault that the restaurant obviously had a rat problem.

Kaisergarten is a restaurant outside the classic tourist routes…. It doesn't have many tables but the wait (if you don't book) is worth it. The Ayinger Lager Hell beer is very refreshing and excellent to accompany the chosen dishes Amazing wiener schnitzel, a Viennese cutlet consisting of a slice of veal breaded and fried in clarified butter. What can we say about desserts... the emperor's omelette (Kaiserschmarrn) is a sort of pancake cooked in a pan and accompanied with apple compote and blackcurrant jam, very good. While for this dessert we chose to pair it with a Riesling...

Highly recommended, the Wienerschnitzel!

We were greeted warmly, but then we always had to wait a long time until an employee came by. The food is average. When we ordered our food, we ordered Kaiserschmarrn straight away. After dinner we wanted to have our dessert. It's almost ready........then took another half hour. After asking twice, they always said: 10 more minutes. After 2 hours we left without dessert.

A very cozy little beer garden with excellent service. There are plenty of classics of Bavarian cuisine here. If you want to go on the weekend, it's best to make a reservation. The seats around the old chestnuts are particularly beautiful.

Good location, atmosphere and service. Short menu, which is typically a good sign and gives a hope that you can safely order any food and be satisfied. Unfortunately this is not the case. Every dish is an interpretation of Bavarian cuisine with a twist. But this is not an extra on top of perfection, it’s different just to be different. I was at this place several times and every time I feel that I’d prefer it to be done less fancy but more tasty with more attention to details (like washing mushrooms better or checking over-salted sauce before serving). It’s kind of pity because you can feel that the chef has a passion.

It's nice if you sit outside, the menu is not extensive. It is very very expensive. U. Schnitzel €32 seems amazing to me. The waitress was very unpleasant and even had to rectify when transferring the bill to the dataphone, giving an exaggerated tip without me being able to do so. Anyway, with the amount of Biergarten there are, I won't go back to this one again.

Excellent German-Bavarian cuisine with pizzazz. Everything is cooked fresh and with finesse and served on the plate. A relief considering the average food that most Bavarian inns in Munich usually offer. Wines also top, prices acceptable. Staff very hard working.

The two of us came here on the recommendation of locals. Exactly at rush hour, we had to wait 10 minutes and then got a table outside in the beer garden. Casual, friendly service. Classic dishes. You immediately come into contact with the other guests - typically Bavarian at a shared table. Drinks cold and with ice cubes. Food came quickly even though it was packed. Lively hustle and bustle under the castutia trees. Food was great and plentiful. Kaiserschmarrn absolute recommendation. We would come again

Brilliant beer garden and rustic restaurant with a very special mix of modernity and tradition. Super trendy! The food was absolutely brilliant, we were able to enjoy great mushroom dishes depending on the season. The Kaiserschmarrn is also great with applesauce and plums... definitely a brilliant tip and great floral decoration

Has nothing to do with Bavarian pub culture! Today I (and friends) sat down at a table that was not marked as reserved (later). We were not informed before our order that the table would be reserved later, so we ordered our food. Before the last of our group had finished eating, we were very abruptly informed that the table had to be free in 20 minutes. You can look for a “the guest is king” attitude here for a long time. When we asked/commented why/that the table wasn't marked, the manager started discussing with us that we hadn't asked, that they always did it like that, etc. He treated us in such an unfriendly and condescending manner... A real one Disappointment in the middle of Schwabing. Uncomfortable, rude and definitely not recommended!

We and several other guests were unexpectedly informed this evening that we had to leave at 8 p.m. because new guests would be arriving then. The whole thing without warning is absolute impudence and in no way legally tenable, house rules or not. The guest must be informed in advance that tables have been reserved, then they can decide whether to stay or look for another restaurant. But the way it works here, letting the guests order first and only then telling them during the meal that they have to leave promptly, is more than outrageous. Fortunately, Munich has many other nice restaurants where guests are treated as such.

Very nice beer garden, with upscale Bavarian cuisine and a good selection of wines. The ambience varies somewhere between rustic and sedate, the audience sporty-chic. Parmesan Schlutzkrapfen were very good!

We were here with friends and I thought the atmosphere was really nice. We were there very early for breakfast. The quality was good. But overall the prices have also risen, but that's the case almost everywhere in Munich, unfortunately. Later, when it was more crowded, you had to wait longer to get another coffee.

Expect classic German dishes and the brunch style avocado toasts here. Would recommend for friends and families. Decent beer and coffee as most spots in the neighborhood. Service was busy but still attentive and kind, which is not a given! Several beers and appetizers were had here and much enjoyed.

An outwardly very nice and inviting beer garden with unfortunately a lack of service. We were guests there for dinner this week. My companion received their food, but unfortunately my schnitzel was a long time coming. After asking the waitress for the first time, she wanted to ask inside - nothing happened, including no response from her. After asking the waiter a second time - my companion had already finished eating - she wanted to ask again and again no response as to where the schnitzel was. We then wanted to pay after more than an hour and the responsible, decidedly casual waiter with orange sunglasses was initially rightly horrified that a complete dinner was missing. He finally asked inside and then stated that they (i.e. we) “should have given it the go” because it was rated as a second course - but we all only had one course. Therefore the schnitzel was never processed, but that was the waiter's fault and not ours. Instead of Offering a quick alternative or a nicety, he accepted payment and simply said: "Next time it will work out again." That would be great! However, we won't be coming back. Luckily, there are other nice restaurants that pay attention to service.

It was almost a perfect evening until we were literally kicked out in the rudest way possible. For a restaurant in this league, I would expect better treatment of guests

The Kaisergarten manages to combine tradition and modernity. The cozy interior and exterior architecture invites you to linger. This restaurant is usually full at peak times, but after a short wait the employees almost always find a free seat. Most of the team is friendly and helpful. The food speaks for itself.

They have a nice biergarten outside and good looking inside seating. Prices are average for Munich but good for this quality. And highlight is definitely Kaiserschmarrn. They offer best Kaiserschmarrn in town without a doubt!

It just doesn't feel right! We are looking for staff and those concerned are not acting! In my opinion, people have become too comfortable and I'm tired of this blah blah blah, especially from men, as if they're all no longer men! What weak people! There is always a 2 boss! So please, you can save yourself the blah blah blah blah!

It's a mystery to me how the restaurant has managed to survive for years and is always busy. Every few years I give the store another chance and am disappointed again and again. Absolutely below average food at exorbitant prices and unmotivated staff. In addition, my food was always extremely salty. The last time I noticed it was when a dessert was offered on the house, which I declined. Basically quite nice but it doesn't make up for €30 for a main course. You wait there forever. Whether it's to eat or pay, even when there's less going on.

Absolutely unacceptable treatment of guests. We ordered a Kaiserschmarrn and wanted to share it. As soon as I started eating properly, I had eggshells in one piece, which we then told a waitress about. She apologized and took the Kaiserschmarrn with her. A minute later a waiter came to the table with the Kaiserschmarrn and asked if we had eggshell in the Kaiserschmarrn. I answered this question in the affirmative and then he wanted to see the eggshell. I then explained to him that I ate them. He then said that it was an egg dish and that it was normal if there were eggshells in it. As I already told the waiter, I don't think it's at all "normal" to have eggshells in food. He just stared at me. We immediately got up and wanted to pay the bill. At the checkout, the waiter in question told us that he couldn't take the Kaiserschmarrn off the bill, but he could give us a drink on the house. We politely declined and paid our entire bill. They don't even deserve a star for such treatment. Never again!

We came across this place attracted by the Kaiserschmarrn and I have to say that it's really worth it. All the staff were really kind, friendly and quick to serve us. Forget the reviews that say Kaiserschmarrn is "fatty and oily"......what do you expect a diet meal to be? Go home and eat couscous and leave those who work well alone :)

Amazing food... homemade lemonade too... everything was very very tasty. I'd love to know how they make the beetroot ravioli, my green asparagus was a dream, the deserts too.. the sauces, my goodness... just writing this, remembering it ... wonderful. We were lucky , sat outside in a quiet corner without reservation on a very busy afternoon.
