Go somewhere else. A total disaster. The service is terrible. The food is poor, tending toward underwhelming. Please never again.

The food tastes "okay," but the wait (despite the dining room being only half full) is beyond good and evil. We waited 15 minutes after being seated to order drinks. After another 20 minutes, we got our drinks. After the meal, the plates sat on the table for ages, and the drinks were empty. There was probably just not enough staff. It happens. But then they shouldn't accept reservations anymore. We then waited 25 minutes to pay. The ambiance/soundscape is unfortunately not great either. About the food: The portion size is okay. The quality is also "okay," although no one at the table would return just for the food (too cooked, over-seasoned, very dark spots on the schnitzel).

The schnitzel was not good quality meat, there was very little sauce, and the fries were salty. The spaetzle were not good, and the pork knuckle is also not recommended. Long wait times, and the waiters were arrogant. And this despite the restaurant not being at full capacity. Reservations could not be made by phone because the phone line was down. There was no response by email either. The comfort was poor. Definitely not recommended at these prices.

A beautiful place, authentic, with delicious food. I'd gladly come back to Bonn for this schnitzel. The Backhändel (fried pork schnitzel) arrived juicy and tasty, and we all loved the potato and cucumber salad as well. The fried potatoes were crispy and delicious 👍🙏

If you're not sure where to head, come here, you'll be sure to have plenty to eat and nice beers to go with. And if you're visiting from abroad, that's a guaranteed local experience (so says a visitor!)

The almost complete Paulaner selection in the Rhineland is something special in itself. It's also a great place to while away the time waiting at the nearby main train station.

Really great restaurant, great selection of food (good home cooking) and drinks, attentive friendly staff (they came without asking, when the crowd was good) quite quickly the ordered items, prices are in line with the ambience and quality, overall highly recommended

Delicious food with very friendly service.

We really enjoyed our lunch here. The food was great, the service very friendly, we would gladly return. The goulash was the best I ever tried in a restaurant. Just the tart flambé needed a few extra minutes in the oven, but I'm sure it was an exception in my case. There is a kid's menu too.

If you like hearty food, this is the place for you. I tried the homemade Leberkäse (meatloaf) and was a little disappointed, as I remembered it being much more delicious on my last visit to Bavaria. However, the mashed potatoes were very tasty. The service staff seemed a bit stressed, although they were always polite.

Me and my boyfriend stayed for a week in Germany, we’ve got plenty of experiences and we loved and enjoyed this place :) all the waiters were very nice and even tried to speak Spanish with us. They were kind and servicial. We really loved the beer and the food. We will hopefully come back someday! Thanks so much :)

It's a shame the portions have gotten smaller, which is untypical and unworthy of a Bavarian restaurant. We were very disappointed 😞 and found it almost embarrassing to our guests. The service and ambiance were very good. Hence the 4 stars.

This restaurant in Bonn is quite popular, so I decided to try some German dishes here. The weather was very hot that day—most guests chose to sit outdoors, while I preferred to stay inside. We ordered a pork knuckle and a pork chop with creamy mushroom sauce. For two of us, the portions were really generous. The taste was excellent! The pork knuckle was oven-baked with a wonderfully crispy skin and tender meat. The side of fries was outstanding—living in the UK, I eat fries quite often, but these were even better than most I’ve had there. The pork chop with creamy mushroom sauce was also good, though I’ve had an even better version in Frankfurt. If there had been just a little more sauce, it would have been perfect. Our waiter, who happened to be from Greece, was not only handsome but also very attentive. Since I cannot drink alcohol for health reasons, he kindly served us extra ice water to keep us refreshed. The restaurant is conveniently located near the train station. If you are visiting Bonn, it’s definitely worth a try.

Our server was great. Very friendly, and even though he was very busy, he managed to get two tables together outside. We had reserved inside. The knuckle of pork was crispy, which is rare in restaurants.

We've been there several times. Everything has always been excellent up until now. This time we were very disappointed. We ordered Leberkäse (meatloaf), which tasted good but was cold. We ordered Obazda (traditional pork sausage), but the portion was very small, which used to be different. The food was poorly presented on the plates. It doesn't reflect the value for money. Service was friendly, but they didn't respond to a request for a drink change. Apparently, they couldn't change it. We were very disappointed; something definitely needs to change. That's how you drive your customers away.

Good traditional German food and a nice beerhouse, Bavarian style

I went there for lunch. They had a lunch menu and I was able to eat at a reasonable price. The sausages were very tasty, and the fish on the lunch menu was also delicious. I think Japanese people would find it delicious.

A pleasant establishment with a good selection of Paulaner beer and a good range of dishes. The menu includes a tasting set of 5 beers of 0.2 l each. High-level service, card payments are accepted.

One of the best places to get beer and food in Bonn, during my short stay there we visited the places multiple times. The atmosphere is cosy, the beers are fresh and food is delicious. You have options of both indoor and outdoor seating ( this is hard to get on a hot summer day). The staff is good though service gets slow when it is crowded. They also have a happy hour during low hours, good deal on cocktails. My top recommendations - fries and vegetarian options. Also pork knuckle. For beer all are amazing just be careful with salvatore as it high alcohol percentage while still being delicious. I would say it's a must visit when in Bonn.

I ate at Salvator for the first time today. All I can say is, the rösti with glaze was the best, and it was very fresh. The staff was super friendly and quick.

Delicious food and drink at fair prices

On Saturday evening, I wanted to have dinner there with my partner. It was very crowded and noisy. After 30 minutes, the waiter came to order drinks. Then we ordered the food, and after an hour, it still wasn't there. After asking where the food was, they said it was only being prepared after an hour. So we would have had to wait another hour. So we canceled the meal. The waiter left with a grin and an unfriendly expression.

The waiters ignored us for about 20 minutes after we sat down. They were already there and saw us, but they just didn't come. But when someone did arrive, the service was friendly and quick. The food is good brewery fare, and the beer is fantastic. Overall, I'm happy to wait for it. The problem is the crowd that approaches the tables outside and begs for food.

Very good food. However, the service could definitely be improved. Coordination doesn't work. Guests are sometimes skillfully ignored, especially by a young lady.

Today I'm here again. There are two servers on duty. It's busy both inside and outside. Understandably, they're completely overwhelmed. The kitchen's doorbell is constantly ringing, which is annoying!!! My schnitzel was extremely pink today. What a shame!! The kitchen has to pay attention to quality, even with so many customers!!! I didn't have a beer with my meal!! There simply has to be more staff with this number of customers!!

Most importantly, the cuisine is excellent. The food is delicious and worth the price. But: I regularly wait forever to be served. 30 minutes to get the menu and another 30 to pay, even though the restaurant is almost completely empty, is not uncommon.

One of our favorite lunch spots in Bonn city center — and honestly, hard to beat for both price and quality. Where else can you get a proper lunch for around 9 Euros and enjoy a freshly tapped Bavarian beer? Life doesn’t get much better. The weekly lunch menu always offers a good mix: meat dishes, Flammkuchen (think German-style pizza), pasta, and salads. Portions are usually generous, especially for the changing specials. There are also a few permanent lunch options, though those tend to be a bit smaller. If you want something properly German, I’d definitely recommend their meat dishes. They usually come with the classics — sauerkraut or red cabbage and potato dumplings. As a German myself, I’m normally skeptical of eating traditional food out — nobody cooks it like your mum or grandma — but I have to say, they really nail it here. Must be some decent chefs in that kitchen. We’ve also tried their pasta dishes, which are delicious too. But let’s be honest — the real star is the beer. I recommend the Zwickel if you like something full of flavor. I’m not a fan of overly sweet wheat beers or bland Helles, so the Zwickel hits just right. And for the drivers, good news — they now even have non-alcoholic Weizen on draft.

I was just thrown out of the restaurant by the unfriendly restaurant manager Sabatin. What did I do wrong?

Maybe I'm a bit old-school, but in a beer garden that's only a third full, after several glances at the waiters, I expect either a signal or service. After 13 minutes of nothing, I left. Still, I'll give it a positive rating, since I've enjoyed coming here for many years and have always been satisfied.

I can recommend this restaurant. The food was truly delicious. The service was extremely friendly, but unfortunately, a few orders slipped through the cracks. As a group, it was okay. But overall, it was very, very loud. So, relaxed conversation wasn't possible. I'd love to come back in the summer to sit on the terrace.

We were rudely turned away as walk-ins because we had bikes with us. We were told to leave them somewhere in Bonn. Just to tell you, there was no one else sitting at the tables besides us. And we've been there before... WITH bikes. The waiter's comment, when I said we'd rather leave than leave our valuable bikes unattended somewhere, was: "Very good, have a nice day." Conclusion: Someone just didn't want any customers.

Most of the service staff were very helpful and friendly. After asking for a high chair for our baby three times, I gave up and pushed the stroller to the table (we were sitting outside) to feed our 8-month-old daughter. The waiter at the next table then loudly complained about how "stupid" we were to leave the stroller there. Most of the food was inedible (wooden asparagus, tough potatoes), only the schnitzel was excellent. We won't be returning to this restaurant again.

Three of us ate there. When paying by card, the device is placed on the table without a word. Then you're asked to choose something, which only turns out to be a tip on the receipt. BE CAREFUL WHEN PAYING BY CARD!!!! If you then comment that a €10 tip is way too much for an amount of almost €70, you get snapped at and told: "You chose that, and you had help from your companion" (who also couldn't make sense of it and said it would be best if it were explained again). END OF STORY: THE CONDITIONER GOT REALLY RUMPLED AND THEN "THROWED" THE TIP ON THE TABLE. Only recommended if you're paying in cash.

We eat here regularly and enjoy it. The quality has always been more than good; there's hardly anything to complain about. The price/performance ratio is also excellent for a brewery. Now that the outdoor terrace is open again, the beer tastes even better. A very, very good brewery in the Bonn area.

After a long search, we finally found a really good Bavarian inn! The Salvator Wirtshaus impresses with its traditional atmosphere, friendly service and delicious food. This is exactly how you imagine Bavarian hospitality. I'd love to come back!

The inn is more reminiscent of a loud train station hall, ambience is zero. The prices have risen significantly and the food is unfortunately below average, I didn't like it at all. Had asparagus with hollandaise sauce and boiled potatoes. Portions too small, three dry potatoes and hard asparagus, and far too little sauce. I'll dine somewhere else next time.

We were always very happy to come. Unfortunately, the menu has changed, so that several really good dishes are no longer available (make-your-own salad, fried Maultaschen, vegetable strudel, baked potato).. that's a real shame. So we probably won't come back as often in the future.

It was my first time as a guest in the inn. The starters are very extensive. The opazer with a pretzel - a poem. The salad with the liver cheese strips was also delicious 😋. There was a little too much cheese in the cheese spaetzle. Lots of different beers. Everyone has their own taste. I would happily recommend it.

It's a very popular place. The food and beer are great. However, since the employees are very busy with many customers, it is better to pay in advance before leaving. This is a restaurant in Schweinhaksen.

Mein Mann und ich haben jeweils zwei Frikadellen mit Bratkartoffeln für je 17 Euro bestellt und zwei Helle Bier. Wir erhielten nach langer Wartezeit zwei so Mini Portionen, das wir unseren Augen nicht trauten. Das Essen war lauwarm bis kalt und in einer der zwei Mini Frikadellen befand sich ein Haar. Von den Portionen konnte niemand nur annähernd satt werden. Unser Bier kam, als wir fast schon mit dem Essen fertig waren. Wir zahlten schließlich die stolze Summe von 45 Euro, welche in keinem Verhältnis zu dem Stand, was wir bekommen haben. Fazit, die guten Zeiten, in denen man noch angemessen im Salvator essen könnte, sind scheinbar vorbei. Schade, denn früher sind wir dort gerne essen gegangen, wir kommen jedenfalls nicht mehr wieder.

I would like to rate the service, but it wasn't even there... it was after 8:30 in the evening, so not crowded at all. 10 minutes after we sat down we asked if it was self service or if you ordered at your seat because no one came. It said we can order at our seat. Another 10 minutes passed. When the waiter brought us the food, half of it was missing. So that we couldn't take a napkin, the napkins were taken away and distributed at the table next door. This is below average… never again.

The schnitzel looked suspiciously like convenience food, the mushroom cream sauce was rather bland. The fries weren't salted. Some cafeterias can do better. The service was disorganized, and the wait times were long. The friendliness doesn't make up for it when you have to ask for the bill three times before someone finally arrives. ****** Rustic, cozy, Bavarian. Great food, nice atmosphere. The beer is very good! Cozy old place. The waiters are probably overworked or disorganized; everyone comes by, takes their order, and after a loooong time, they get a beer, and then the second one only when they've already forgotten the first. The food is similar. But always worth a visit, between shopping trips; you should always make yourself known.

Pork elbow was too dry, tasteless and not tender when eaten

A nice restaurant with very good and friendly service. Unfortunately, the food was inedible. The potatoes with the meatloaf were completely oversalted. The veal schnitzel was completely coated in butter in the breading, so it had to be removed before eating. The owner didn't even accommodate the guest in any way. The complaint about the food was dismissed. The waiter paid for the schnapps on the house out of his own pocket. All of this doesn't speak well for the restaurant. You'll gladly come back for a beer, but you're better off eating somewhere else.

In the heart of Bonn, birthplace of the musical genius, Beethoven, a place that evokes the predominant beer culture, and the best thing is the service, its staff is very friendly.

Three of us arrived on a Tuesday evening without making a reservation and managed to get a table. The inn became completely full as the evening progressed, so I think we actually got a little lucky. My meal was very tasty, but unfortunately at the beginning I was served a meal that I hadn't ordered. The waitress took the food back without discussing it and brought me the right food a short time later (approx. 15 minutes). This was unfortunate because my colleagues were already finished when I could start. The sociable atmosphere tempts you to have a drink every now and then.

There is a lunch menu so you can have lunch at a low price. You can order as much beer as you want, and I ordered two dishes that I had never seen before and they were delicious. However, something different from what I ordered came out, and the waiter didn't speak English well, so I ordered with my fingers, and the above came out. Still, it was nice to try something new.

Rustic pub that unfortunately only a few still exist. A diverse mix of people of all kinds come here. You feel comfortable and welcome and the service is very good. Food and drink too!

We chose the restaurant in advance because I was looking forward to Knusperhaxe. My expectations were completely met 👌Food was very tasty, service was great... only the hustle and bustle and noise in the restaurant weren't that good. We still enjoyed the meal.
