A very clean and good restaurant.

Food: Unfortunately the raw materials were not of good quality. We had two starters and two main courses and there was quite a lot left over. The food was well prepared. For me personally, the salmon starter (pickled salmon) was too small, but the portions of all the other dishes were absolutely sufficient, so I would also like to contradict some of the reviews that complained about the portions being too small. The bottom line is that I was disappointed with the food and because of the quality I find the price-performance ratio to be unsatisfactory. If the quality was appropriate, the prices would be justified as it is not an overpriced location. Service: The service initially works very well. What was good for us, however, was that we were already in the restaurant at 6:30 p.m. As the evening progressed, the service became more and more difficult and you had to accept longer waiting times. The service staff was nice and accommodating, we were given some information about the bottle of wine we ordered, so there is nothing to complain about. However, there were too few service staff. The bottom line is that you can't blame the staff, but management is welcome to think about adding a person. Ambience: I really liked the ambience. I didn't think the restaurant was "old-fashioned", but rather it seemed like a very good combination of tradition and modernity. The ambience also made me give it 3 stars and decide against 2 stars.

Very nice place to have typical German food

I would like to give 0 points for the friendliness and service. Let's see if this review is deleted or allowed to remain. But feel free to convince yourself. We ate at the Waldhaus and were greeted in a less friendly manner. After we had chosen a table, we were asked about drinks and also about the food. We shared what we would like as a starter and as a main course. A friend wanted a starter as a main course. This wasn't possible, according to the waitress. She had to bring the appetizers together and she was told to “eat more slowly.” She ordered the baked feta with fresh oven-baked baguette, as it said on the menu and without honey. Because she has several allergies. The food came (all together starter and main course) and the waitress brought the feta (four mini rolls of dough) with honey. She was very surprised and asked if my friend could still eat it because it had been prepared incorrectly. So the operator knows it's wrong and brings it anyway? And everything is always not friendly at all. The food was now there, of course there was no oven baguette as it said on the menu. After we asked in a friendly manner, the answer was “no, that’s not part of it,” which was again very unfriendly. My food was supposed to be cleared away in front of my nose even though I was in the middle of eating. After our friend ordered a cocktail, she received it with a plastic straw that was chewed and had lipstick stuck to it. Even as we pointed out, people became increasingly rude to us instead of apologizing (as they should). You leave a lot of money there, service and friendliness are 0. And then the patio heater was turned off even though we were still eating, so it quickly got cold. After 30 minutes a gentleman came and turned it on again. It was our first and last visit to this restaurant. Ambiance is really nice, that's it.

Relaxed atmosphere even in the run-up to Christmas. The food was very tasty and the service was more than friendly. Super nice restaurant 😊

Very pleasant restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere and surprisingly good cuisine. In a very positive sense, the menu contains a manageable number of dishes and wines. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes are represented in roughly equal numbers. The two red wines we drank were very drinkable in a down-to-earth way. We had cheese dumplings with roasted vegetables which were really good. The cooking cheese was homemade and very good. The schnitzel with pommes carre was also very tasty. The service was very attentive and friendly. We were there on a Friday evening in winter and it wasn't too crowded. I am very pleased to have discovered this small, fine restaurant. In summer the beer garden is busy and unfortunately the service lags behind the orders.

I was in beautiful Idstein yesterday and had a wonderful meal at the Taunushof! The hunter's schnitzel with fries and salad was delicious! The staff were also very friendly and accommodating! I'd love to come back!

The visit was a while back, but I remember it fondly

We went here for dinner with our kids. Unfortunately, the prices are very exorbitant and the service provided is rather poor. No salad with the schnitzel despite the high price. Our junior ordered a schnitzel and got a children's portion that wasn't ordered. Conclusion he ate my food... Our place was right by the door and the entrance to the toilet. Noisy and not comfortable. The table was dirty and there was no cutlery, only when asked. Conclusion: Price performance inadequate!

Very nice location, in the middle of Frankfurt and still in the countryside, this little place is nice and quiet. The food was again super tasty and the service was also top. The prices are ok - correspond to the European Quarter, but it's worth it. Always my pleasure.

Outside in summer, inside in winter. Both great. Food top and inexpensive. Service was nice and quick. 100% and gladly again. Already picked up dishes. Keep it up...
