Restaurant Fohlenhof in Darmstadt

Despite its changing patronage, the Fohlenhof remains a cult favorite! The food is good, home-style, plentiful, and reasonably priced!

The atmosphere is cozy, and it's definitely a nice place for a beer. Unfortunately, I personally can't recommend it for food. I find it rather unsuitable for vegetarians or vegans. There are very few suitable dishes on the menu, and my salad was simply not tasty. Besides, I didn't feel full at all. The portion was tiny. The salad itself was far too small, underseasoned, and served with a rather uninspiring dressing. My companion also had a bad experience when ordering. She asked about the meat and received a rather rude answer. Maybe we were just having a bad day. Otherwise, the man at the counter was friendly, but it's just not okay to be selectively friendly. Unfortunately, there were strange insects everywhere. Of course, the restaurant can't be blamed for that. After all, it's outdoors and surrounded by many trees. Nevertheless, I would like to emphasize that there were indeed a lot of insects constantly on the table or on you. So if you're sensitive to those, I would advise against coming here. I might come back for a drink, but only if I happened to be in the area.

Boss can't take criticism. Even if I've been shelled out €20, they don't want to hear anything negative, and unfortunately, they can't have a reasonable, informative conversation. Besides, I've never experienced anywhere else where you have to pay €2 extra for a 1-liter Bembel apple wine and cola (because it's not listed on the menu). I just don't understand the logic behind it. I could just order 1 liter of apple wine on its own and a cola on the side, and I'd get more out of it in the end.

A very nice restaurant, with really comfortable seating. When it's busy, the food takes a little longer to arrive, but otherwise, the food is really delicious!

Once and never again! It was supposed to be a lovely evening in the beer garden – the weather was great, the rest was forgettable. We waited a good half-hour in line for drinks. One tap and one cash register for the entire beer garden (including ordering food). The two girls serving drinks were somewhat overwhelmed due to the large number of guests (this isn't a criticism of the girls, who were doing their best, but rather a criticism of the management, who apparently cut down on staff to increase revenue). They both also had to load the dishwasher and collect the empty drink glasses in the beer garden. No wonder the wait lasted forever. We actually wanted to get some food (which looked quite delicious), but we would have had to allow for a wait of well over an hour. We decided not to eat. Apparently, the kitchen was very understaffed, and collecting the dishes required a lot of capacity, which was then lost in the kitchen. Simple summary: There's no reason to come back to the Fohlenhof. After we finished our beer, we went to the Bavarian beer garden. As usual, everything went very quickly, and we had our drinks within a few minutes.

Really delicious food and a lovely beer garden.

A lovely place to relax – especially in good weather. The outdoor area is large, well-maintained, and offers plenty of seating, some of which is covered. Food and drinks are ordered from a small booth and picked up by yourself – everything went quickly and smoothly. The food was excellent – 5 stars! Fresh, delicious, and absolutely great value for money. The service gets 4 stars because you take care of yourself, but everyone was friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, especially for families. There's a large area for children to play and run around, while the adults can sit and enjoy themselves in peace. I'd love to come back!

The ambiance is truly fantastic, with a play area for children, and everything is lovingly designed and surrounded by greenery. You have to fetch your own food and drinks, which isn't unusual in a beer garden. The hostility of the service staff behind the bar is unusual—just unfriendly and snippy. The food is very sparse and tastes rather poor. We had the hand cheese and green sauce with a whole one-and-a-half eggs and maybe three or four very small potatoes—a joke for a main course. The white cat was great, but all in all, we were very disappointed and certainly won't be coming back.

Great beer garden with excellent food in a very nice atmosphere. Sometimes it takes a little longer when it's very busy, but the wait is definitely worth it. I wrote a review here a few years ago about the old Fohlenhof and its owners. For some reason, Google updated it. Sorry, Ben! It wasn't intentional! I always enjoy coming here.

Creative chaos best describes this location in my opinion. The beer garden was supposed to open at 6:00 p.m., but at 6:10 p.m., people were still queuing at the entrance until someone opened the gate. The whole area unfortunately seemed a bit run-down to us. Of course, this is a beer garden, and leaves and dirt are to be expected, but a quick sweep before opening and removing the worst of the dirt should be doable. The table was also still sticky. The wait for the food was almost 60 minutes. At least a sign warned about the wait before ordering, so you know what you're getting into. Whether the wait is worth it is up to each individual to decide. We had bratwurst and schnitzel. The bratwurst were very tasty and the highlight of the evening, but the fried potatoes as a side dish were unfortunately very flavorless and, both visually and palatably, lacked any seasoning. We unfortunately found the "schnitzel" with mushroom cream sauce to be a bit of a cheek, see picture. The animal had apparently stepped on a landmine; in any case, there were only breaded pieces of meat – something like that can be processed further, but not sold as a schnitzel. The meat itself was fine, but the breading was unfortunately completely tasteless to our palates, as were the fried potatoes, which also appeared to be completely unseasoned. Without the sauce, it wouldn't have tasted of anything at all. Unfortunately, I also think it's too expensive for what you get. A real shame.

She loves discovering new things along the way, trying good snacks, and always looking for photo spots where she can be seen. Whether it's the playground, the castle garden, or the beer garden – Glorya is always there. 📍 Location & Arrival: The beer garden is located on Kranichsteiner Straße, on the grounds of the former Fohlenhof. There is a private parking lot – a short walk across the courtyard leads to the shady garden area. 🍻 Self-service & offerings: The Fohlenhof is self-service: Drinks are available directly at the drinks station. Food is ordered at the ordering counter – a light-up token indicates when it's ready. Pick-up then also takes place at the counter. The menu offers classic beer garden fare, vegetarian options, and small dishes. We opted for the Frankfurt Green Sauce – very tasty, but rather small portions for a main course. 🌳 Ambience & Playground: The garden is beautifully landscaped, shady under large trees, and pleasantly quiet – ideal for relaxing. There's a playground for children, making it a worthwhile family outing. 🦒 Glorya's conclusion: "Great beer garden, lovely playground – but next time, please, two portions of Green Sauce. For me and Felix!"

The crowd is more from the alternative scene, very kid-friendly, and chilled out. You sometimes have to wait a long time for the food, but it's good and reasonably priced 👍

The food is okay for the price...the sweet potato fries are particularly outstanding...everything is self-service but very well organized...plenty of space for the kids to play. We'll definitely be back when we're in the area.

The food is actually very tasty, but the salad gets smaller and smaller as the price goes up. Criticism and feedback aren't welcome; the manager would freak out. It's a shame, I really enjoyed my time there. Unfortunately, I can't respond to the reply. Yes, after the plate was snatched from my hand, the money was thrown onto the counter. I repeatedly said that I would like the salad and wanted to eat it, and of course I paid for it. We don't have to speak English either... and yes, I'll go somewhere else in the future where service is still lively and criticism is viewed as positive, as it was originally intended, and presented just as politely.

I'm a regular at Fohlenhof, especially in the summer. The atmosphere is always really nice, outside when the weather is nice, and cozy inside when it's open in the colder months. The prices are always very fair, sometimes you have to wait a bit in line to get a drink or order food. The food is usually tasty and fresh but the vegan options are not clearly marked and there's often not a lot of choice for vegans. I would adjust to 5 stars if there was more thought given to dietary requirements. The handsome local cat - Schlingel - is usually around to greet you as well!

The hangover is real, almost too relaxed and the food is delicious. Service attentive and friendly. The failed (or switched off?) heating meant we had to keep our jackets on inside, which unfortunately didn't help the comfort. Toilets super clean. We will appear again.

The family is nice, the cat is cute and the food is good home cooking. However, the owner made it clear to us that he had no interest in hosting our celebration here. Very irritating! The sound makes the music.

Very pleasant restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere and surprisingly good cuisine. In a very positive sense, the menu contains a manageable number of dishes and wines. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes are represented in roughly equal numbers. The two red wines we drank were very drinkable in a down-to-earth way. We had cheese dumplings with roasted vegetables which were really good. The cooking cheese was homemade and very good. The schnitzel with pommes carre was also very tasty. The service was very attentive and friendly. We were there on a Friday evening in winter and it wasn't too crowded. I am very pleased to have discovered this small, fine restaurant. In summer the beer garden is busy and unfortunately the service lags behind the orders.

The food was outstanding! I will 100% come back. The schnitzel was so juicy, the pepper cream sauce was bombastic and the pea soup I had beforehand was incredible! 🤯 the prices are too crazy!

A reservation (2 months in advance) for 20 people was forgotten. Can happen. However, the owner's response was rude and unprofessional. No insight or accommodation.

I love coming here and always look forward to the delicious cooked cheese schnitzel! The fried potatoes are also highly recommended. Afterwards there was a delicious ice cream dessert. The ambience could be spiced up a bit now but remains true to its old German style. The drink prices are fair, the staff (especially the bosses!) are friendly and in summer the Fohlenhof is a great place to go with its outdoor area. See you soon!

Food really wasn't bad, ambience could be better. The men's toilet was an absolute disgusting disaster, it smelled of urine and was dirty and full of spider webs. After the “confrontation”, the service was very unfriendly and dismissive. Thank you, never again! Update: Immediately after this review, you will be discreetly informed via a whisper message that you should leave the store immediately. Unfriendliness and complete incomprehensibility find their name here.

Closed society. Food and service really good. At the end of the event, the staff and the boss were super unfriendly and he insulted the guests, including me (even though I was completely satisfied and hadn't spoken to the staff at all outside of ordering), and kicked them out and banned them from the house because we... mentioned the poor situation of the sanitary facilities, but praised the rest. It's a real shame that the reaction was this way, because it then became unpleasant for our hosts... It's a shame, for this reason the store is unfortunately absolutely NOT recommended!!!!!

Perhaps most people are unable to cope with sunny conditions and do not sufficiently appreciate that restaurants are still available. Therefore, I do not attach any importance to these reviews. Der neue Betreiber baut gerade um. Momentan kann man nur draußen sitzen, gekocht wird im Zelt und die Karte ist entsprechend klein. Aber es sieht vielversprechend aus. Sind gespannt und kommen wieder, wenn alles fertig ist.

Nice location, lots of play options for children, young and old. Eating takes time when the weather is good and when there is a lot going on, you should be prepared for it. Just get another beer and enjoy the weather while you wait and stay cool. 😎 The food has always been good and the portions are filling.

Great place to spend a Saturday / Sunday evening. Excellent veg food options. The sweet potato fries are best. Great beers, wines and non alcoholic beverages. There is also a kid play area for the little ones.

Every time you want to eat or drink something, you have to wait in a huge queue. When you finally order, it takes ages. Hardly any choice when it comes to food. After the owner's response, I deducted another star.

Sehr schöner Biergarten und Restaurant, alles in Selbstbedienung. D. h. an der Kasse bestellen, Getränke sofort mitnehmen und für das Essen gibt es einen Summer der sich meldet sobald das Essen an der Ausgabe abgeholt werden kann. Es wird schon am Eungang darauf hingewiesen das es, wenn es sehr voll ist, mit dem Essen bis zu einer Sunde dauern kann. Wir hatten unser Essen innerhalb 20 Minuten.

Food and ambience are good. You can't rate the service because it's self-service. Beer garden attractive, cozy. In the restaurant itself, guests brought 4 greyhounds with them. The animals are higher than the table and have shaken themselves several times because they got wet from the rain and were brought inside. That can't happen in a restaurant. Guests and tables got wet. Disgusting. Owner lets it go. A white cat came running out of the kitchen. Sorry. I never have to go there again. And I don't want to have to look into the kitchen at all. Dogs that are hit bark. What is malicious about my statements? There are events in the foal farm that, in my opinion, are not good. Why should I fight with 4 dog owners and laboriously discuss hygiene with them? The reaction to my review is just unprofessional. And that's often the case here if you read on. It's good that this platform exists for everyone to see.

An updated modern biergarten. Very nice place and the employees were all awesome. The food was delicious as well (i had rumpsteak and potatoes). The guy behind the bar for a bit noticed my American accent right away and spoke English too. Seemed like he may be the manager or owner and was a very nice and polite man. Definitely going to be a new regular place to eat for me now.

A perfect place for the whole family. We'll definitely be back. The kids love the fries. The rest of the food is open and honestly nothing great for too high a price. But that is always somewhat subjective and an observation that applies to the entire Darmstadt gastronomy. The waiting times are known and are not a problem if you know it. The people are nice. The beer is local and therefore okay.

Wir waren heute im Fohlenhof und waren vom „Service“ sehr enttäuscht. An der Getränkebar wurde schnippisch mit uns gesprochen und der Koch machte eine freche Bemerkung als etwas reklamiert wurde. Die Bemerkung hätte er sich sparen können (denken können). Wir kommen wohl nicht mehr wieder. Woanders wird man freundlicher bedient….

Were there on Sunday. The beer garden opens at 5 p.m. and no food could be arranged from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Had just ordered at 6 p.m. - the waiting time for 2 cooked cheese schnitzels: 90 minutes. Unfortunately, no one could say when it would come...The food itself was OK. Drinks could be ordered quickly. Lots of play options for children. Sufficient parking spaces available.

Relaxed beer garden with a small but fine menu would be happy again

A very nice small and quiet beer garden. There are many opportunities for the children to play here, there are enough parking spaces (cars and bicycles), the toilets are very clean and there is also indoor dining. There.is a sign that it may take longer after ordering food. After we ordered it was not possible to order food for an hour (6 p.m. to 7 p.m.). We waited a total of 90 minutes. The salad is delicious, the schnitzel and the fried potato were okay.

A very nice location for a beer garden, with a sufficient drinks menu and one of the best Äppler Sauer that I have drunk so far. However, we were unlucky on Ascension Day. We were there shortly after 6 p.m. and first ordered something to drink. About half an hour later we also wanted to order food. We had worked up an appetite from other people's plates. But suddenly it was said that there was nothing to eat. When asked, no reason was given. The annoying thing is that there was no information on the board; we only found out about it after queuing for 15 minutes. We would have liked more transparency here.

One of the most beautiful beer gardens in Darmstadt. The prices are totally reasonable and the staff is super nice. Sure, it can be very crowded at peak times, but everyone tries to please everyone. Always happy to come here.

Never again!!! We waited almost 1.5 hours for our food. When I asked the boss, he was unfriendly and said either I would get my money back or I would wait. I would have these two options. Or money back and we can eat somewhere else. Very nice beer garden, delicious food selection, also enough selection for vegetarians. Good drinks. Prices moderate. Friendly service. And if the weather isn't so good, there are also places to sit inside. Two bus lines stop (almost) directly in front of the door.

Sorry the cooking cheese on the schnitzel in the summer was inedible, we were also told that it was from yesterday. It really didn't taste good. It's stupid if 4 of us had this schnitzel. Kitchen overwhelmed, stalk in 2 salads, that shouldn't be the case. There were no longer 4 or 5 meals on the menu, so they could have removed the disgusting cooked cheese schnitzel. The staff at the counter was new and really overwhelmed, she said she had to cool down the glasses in order to fill them with something or she had to ask her colleague if there was still dessert and she wasn't interested in the queue. It wasn't possible to record the items either because she didn't know where they were on the map. It's a shame, I didn't feel well and won't be coming back. Unfortunately, yesterday's curry yellow hard "cheese" is not cooking cheese. By the way, it was a really nice location, but because of the queues you couldn't get drinks and that was a shame, you had to queue for ages. Not recommendable.

Noise from children, long waiting times and cheeky staff. It's a child-friendly restaurant and you just have to think about whether you want to go for it. That's why it's always very loud and tiring, but I don't criticize that at all. But the waiting times are always extremely long. You wait in line forever until you can order and then it takes an extremely long time until the food is ready. You can't get any information in advance about how long it will take at the moment. If you've waited an hour for your food, you'll get a cheeky answer from the kitchen staff. Never again!

Good value for money The schnitzels are big and tasty and when it's not too busy you can get your food fairly quickly. The landlord is very nice and nothing can bring him peace.

Ich komme immer wieder gerne in den Fohlenhof. Es ist eine Mischung aus Biergarten und Indie-Küche. Wenn es voll ist, bei warmen Wetter, kann es etwas dauern, einen Platz findet man aber immer noch. Der Wirt macht seine Sache inzwischen recht gut, in Anbetracht des Personalmangels. Das war nicht immer so. Die Biersorten sind lecker, von naturtrübem Bier bis Guiness, das Essen auch, es gibt Fleischgerichte, aber auch vegetarisch, vegane Küche und so Kleinigkeiten wie Süßkartoffel Pommes, die für den kleinen Hunger ausreichen. Man kann nicht reservieren, geöffnet wird ab 18 Uhr, Montag und Dienstag ist geschlossen, eine reguläre Website existiert nicht. Zumindest eine einfache Webvisitenkarte mit den Öffnungszeiten und Anfahrt wäre für Interessenten eine gute Sache, das wäre mein Verbesserungsvorschlag.

Since the change of ownership I have been going to the Fohlenhof more often. Especially because of the food. Delicious. Freshly prepared. In my opinion very good value for money. And yes, I like waiting for delicious food.

Durchaus schöner Biergarten, wenn da nicht das zum Teil unsägliche Personal wäre (von den extremen Wartezeiten mal abgesehen). Ein Mitarbeiter spielte mit seinem kleinen Kind, welches Straßenschuhe anhatte, auf dem Tresen. Das Kind lief auf dem Tresen hin- und her und hatte Spaß. Über den Tresen wird aber nicht nur Bier ausgegeben, sondern auch unverpackte Brezeln und kleine Knabbereien-also Lebensmittel. Ob das Kind vorab in einem Hundehaufen gestanden hatte, weiß ich nicht. Als ich den Mitarbeiter freundlich darauf ansprach, wurde ich massiv beleidigt und bedroht. Die beiden Mädels am Zapfhahn schauten nur verängstigt. Ich gehe nicht wieder hin (auch nicht mit meiner Spielerunde). Wer sich nicht mit Keimen infizieren will, einen Mindeststandard an Hygiene haben will und Beleidigungen und Drohungen nicht braucht, sollte den Laden besser meiden. Woanders kommt das Essen auch noch deutlich schneller als hier.

Tolle Location und auch die Nächtigung 1A. Prädikat sehenswert. Tolles Engagement - Respekt was hier geschaffen und geboten wird.

Schöner Biergarten mit Selbstbedienung, Essen ist schmackhaft, Bier ist gut (Grohe-Bier), Essen dauert etwas länger, dafür aber frisch zubereitet.

Pah! Das war's Fohlenhof! Nie wieder. 2 Stunden auf das Essen gewartet. Mit guter Laune den Biergarten betreten, mit schlechter Laune gegangen.

EDIT: Alter, iss mal 'n Snickers ^^ ich hab seit 1915 Uhr versucht was zu essen zu bekommen , und war dabei immer nett und respektvoll deinen Leuten gegenüber. frag doch mal wie wir uns an der Theke gemeinsam gefreut haben als ich um 20 Uhr endlich bestellen konnte. Was btw mehr war als das schnitzel, aber du hast vor Ort ja nicht ausreden lassen ehe du meintest ich soll verschwinden. Wenn du nicht willst dass man deine Angebote annimmt dann mach diese Angebote nicht ungefragt. Ich wollte nur wissen ob ich noch was zum essen bekomme. Von wegen Erpressung :Wir sind eine spielegruope. Wir treffen uns bei dir zum gemeinsamen spielen. Wie soll das denn gehen wenn einer nicht kommen darf XD bitte lies doch mal wirklich durch was in den ganzen negativen Bewertungen der letzten Monate kritisiert wird. ja, es dauert manchmal lange, aber wirklich kritisch ist dass du und andere eure Gäste ampampen wenn dann gefragt wird ob was mit dem essen schief gegangen ist. Wir sind eine Gruppe von 6 Leuten die normalerweise regelmäßig hingeht. Heute um 19:30 Essen bestellen wollen, als nach ewigem Anstehen die Ansage kam Küche wegen zu vielen Bestellungen. vorübergehend geschlossen. Doof da ich wirklich Hunger hatte aber okay. Kurz nach 20:00 konnte ich dann mein Schnitzel bestellen und direkt bezahlen. Als um 21:15 dann immer noch nichts zum Essen da war bin ich vor um mal zu fragen ob vielleicht was schief gegangen ist. Andere Gäste haben zeitgleich das gleiche gemacht da sie auch schon seit 1h auf ihr Essen warteten. Der Frau vor mir wurde vom Chef angeboten dass sie entweder ihr Geld zurück haben könne oder das Essen *jetzt* zubereitet würde. Umsonst gab es dazu eine Story wieviel die Angestellten arbeiten würden und dass wenn man zum Fohlenhof kommt halt damit rechnen muss dass man auf sein Essen warten muss. Sie entschied sich fürs Essen. Da unsere Gruppe alle schon fertig waren entschied ich mich fürs Geld und sagte ihm dass ich das Angebot annehmen würde. Das Geld bekam ich. Umsonst gab es noch seinen Rat ich solle nicht mehr wieder kommen. Ich dachte erst ich hab mich verhört und bin dann hinter ihm hergegangen und hab nochmal nachgefragt. Aber nein. Ich solle einfach nicht mehr zum Fohlenhof kommen. Auf meine Frage ob unsere ganze Gruppe der ich angehöre nicht mehr kommen soll hieß es nur "Ich hab nur von dir geredet. Komm nicht wieder!" Versuche das ganze irgendwie zu klären wurden dann später mehrfach von ihm abgewiesen, erst wolle er seine Pause haben, und später hatte er dann jetzt keine Zeit für eine Klärung. Was soll ich sagen, das ganze hat an den Witz erinnert in dem der Gast ruft "Da bin ich aber schon besser bedient worden" und der Kellner dagegen brüllt "Aber nicht hier!" Hungrig und mit schlechter Laune nach Hause gehen, das geht beim Fohlenhof anscheinend auch wenn mal bisschen was los ist. Chef, deinem Wunsch kommen wir übrigens dann doch alle gerne nach.

Wir waren zu fünft. Ein Mann aus unserer Gruppe hatte 2 Stunden vergeblich auf sein Essen gewartet. In dieser Zeit hat er mehrmals nachgefragt. Als er sich dagegen beschwerte, wurde ihm vom Chef gesagt, dass dieser ihn da nicht mehr sehen wolle. Hausverbot, weil man sich in dieser nachvollziehbar sehr ärgerlichen Situation beschwert? Die Freundin des Mannes hat danach mehr als einmal versucht, die Situation mit dem Chef zu klären und wurde jedesmal unhöflich und unfreundlich abgewiesen. Schade, bisher hatte es uns gut gefallen. Wir waren regelmäßig alle 14 Tage zu sechst da. Da können wir jetzt nicht mehr hingehen. Blöd gelaufen, richtig blöd. Crash-Kurs in "Wie vergraul ich treue Kunden am besten?" Schade, Ben, aber so nicht!

Ich gebe nur 4 Sterne weil es noch nicht ganz fertig ist. (Edit: Doch 5 Sterne weil das Essen einfach mega gut ist) Aber dennoch eine Empfehlung! Entspannte Atmosphäre, kaum bis kein Straßenlärm, gute Preise und super Qualität. Hut ab! Eine großartige Verwandlung und das alles in so verrückten Zeiten!❤️❤️

Das Schnitzel ist dort mega-lecker und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis für Darmstadt absolut fair. Man muss sich seine Getränke und das Essen selbst holen, abgeräumt wird vom freundlichen Personal dennoch. Durch schlanke Strukturen schafft es der Fohlenhof sehr gutes Essen zu einem angemessenen Preis anzubieten. Die Karte ist zwar nicht groß, aber jeder in unserer Gruppe von 6 Leuten hatte auf Anhieb etwas gefunden. Alle waren zufrieden. Nachtisch ist ebenfalls zu empfehlen. Die 4 Sterne für den Service bringen nur zum Ausdruck, der der Service, aufgrund von Selbstabholung limitiert ist. Das Personal bekommt ganz klar 5 Sterne. Da es in Sichtweite von Tischen draußen für Kinder Spielmöglichkeiten gibt, ist der Fohlenhof für Familien absolut geeignet. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Bester Biergarten in Darmstadt zu vernünftigen Preisen und einem wirklich schönen Ambiente. Tischtennisplatten und Spielgeräte für Kleinere gibt es auch. Das Essen ist wunderbar und die Getränke stets kühl. Bis in die Nacht kann man hier wunderbare Abende mit Freunden verbringen.

Toller Biergarten. Nette Menschen. Mittlerweile ist die Wartezeit beim Essen auch OK. Tolle und sehr leckere Küche. Mit Kindern absolut zu empfehlen. TISCHTENNISPLATTE!!!

Ein schöner Biergarten, toll mit Kindern. Hat viel zu bieten von Holzpferden über Sandkasten über Playmobil und Spiele. Eine vielfältige Karte, auch vegane Gerichte. Leckeres Essen, schöne Beleuchtung.

Einfach unfassbar dort! 1. Selbst für ein simples Getränk lange anstehen... Ok, es ist halt viel los 2. Schon bei Bestellung schnippische Art der Angestellten aufgefallen... Ok, kann mal rausrutschen im Stress 3.lange Wartezeit auf Essen nr1... Ok, viel los und evtl Personalmangel 4. Vorsichtige Nachfrage nachdem Essen 2+3 nach 1,5h noch immer nicht fertig waren im Gegensatz zu etliche später bestellte Essen, wird sofort in einem schroffen Ton beantwortet (wenn es nicht passt könne man ja gehen!) und dann behauptet es sei in der Reihe schon ganz vorne... Okaay, siehe Punkt 1-3 Aaaber : 5.bei erneuter Nachfrage nach weiteren 30 Minuten sowohl von Angestellten als auch Chef angeschnauzt und rausgeschmissen (!!!) zu werden geht gar nicht! Fazit: da ist wohl jemandem der vermeintliche Erfolg zu Kopf gestiegen bzw man ist einfach komplett überfordert mit der Aufgabe. Bitte "Gastlichkeit" und "Kundenfreundlichkeit" nochmal googeln! Schade, aber das kann/wird wohl noch ein ganz harter Fall vom hohen Ross werden.......

ein super lokal, klasse geführt und mit leidenschaft geführt. das essen ist mega lecker, getränkeauswahl klasse. die preise sind moderat. wir gehen seit der neue inhaber da ist wieder richtig gerne hin :) . ps an die meckerer der nation: in selbstgemachter zitronenlimonade ist immer zitronensaft drin .. was denn sonst? überteuert? auf keinen fall … ansonsten geht doch zu netto und machts selber. nur dort sitzt nicht so idyllisch …, schade schade motzies …

5 Sterne. Wir waren gestern das erste mal vor Ort, alle Mitarbeiter waren nett und höflich. Das Essen war super lecker und preislich wirklich ok. Schöne schattige Plätze, Gruß an die Küche uns hat es wirklich richtig gut geschmeckt wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Einmal und nie wieder. Unfreundliches Personal am Getränkestand, essen haben wir garnicht mehr bestellt. Ausgepresster Zitronensaft mit Fruchtfleisch und mit Wasser aufgefüllt wird als Hausgemachte Zitronenlimonade überteuert verkauft. Da gehen wir definitiv nicht mehr hin.

Schöner Biergarten mit Platz zum Spielen für die Kinder (bis 8 Jahre) in schönem Ambiente. Essen lecker mit toller Auswahl (nicht nur typische Biergartengerichte). Leider mussten wir 1,5 Stunden auf das Essen warten, daher Abzug.

Grausam…. wir waren am Sonntag dort und wollten eine Kleinigkeit essen und haben dann mit zwei mal nachfragen nach etwa 2 Stunden unser Essen bekommen… unmöglich ….. und auch nicht wirklich appetitlich.

Schöner Biergarten mit einigen Spielmöglichkeiten für Kinder und sogar mit einem Tischkicker und einer Tischtennisplatte! Das Essen schmeckt super und ist vom Preis-Leistungsverhältnis gut, allerdings einen Stern Abzug da das Essen sehr lange dauert, meistens eine Stunde nach Bestellung erst fertig

Wirklich lecker aber welf Service! Man kauft an der Hütte sein Essen und holt es wenn fertig am Restaurant ab Immer gut befüllt und essen ist lecker Parkplatz vorhanden aber Einfahrt sehr eng

Sehr schönes Ausflugslokal mit Selbstbedienung. Das Essen war sehr 👍 und reichhaltig. Ideal auch für Familien mit Kindern.

A family friendly outdoor restaurant. Kids have enough playing options around the place. The meals are well prepared and very delicious. Its very popular and thus during peak hours it might take a while before you get your order in. However, the wait is always more than worth it. It has a very cool atmosphere in general. It is one eatery I would definitely recommend in Darmstadt.

Leider 1,5 Stunden aufs Essen gewartet und wir hatten nur Kleinigkeiten bestellt. Keine Sonne, aber die Getränke schmecken.

Eigentlich ein schöner Biergarten, wenn man nur etwas trinken möchte. Nachdem wir über eine Stunde aufs Essen gewartet haben, wollte ich mal nachfragen. Bevor ich überhaupt etwas sagen konnte, wurde ich vom Koch angeschnautzt "es geht auch nicht schneller wenn ständig jemand kommt". Meine Anmerkung, dass wir seit über eine Stunde auf unser Essen warten wurde mit "kann gar nicht sein" abgeschmettert. Glücklicher Weise haben mehrere Personen hinter mir meine Aussage bestätigt. Nach der Antwort des Inhabers habe ich meine Bewertung auf einen Stern abgeändert. Zum einen gab es keine lange Schlange und zu anderen sind 1,5 Stunden für ein einfaches paniertes Schnitzel von durchschnittlicher Qualität definitiv nicht akzeptabel. Ihr tut gerade so, als gäbe es bei Euch Sterneküche. Aber Euer Wunsch ist mir Befehl, ich werde mein Geld zukünftig bei Eurer Konkurenz ausgeben. Eine derartig abfällige Behandlng habe ich als Kunde nicht nötig. Ihr habt einfach Euren Laden nicht im Griff.

Schöner. schattiger Biergarten. Braustüblbier im Ausschank. Gut temperiert und lecker. Wir hatten ein Köchkässchnitzel mit Bratkartoffeln und Salat zu einem angemessenen Preis. Der Kochkäs war super lecker. Leckeres panuertes Schnitzel. Die Bratkartoffeln waren gut. Der Salat dafür nicht so. Die Wartezeit für das Essen war kurz.

Einer meiner Lieblingsbiergärten in Darmstadt. Leider oft lange Wartezeiten bei der Bestellung. Preise sind ok und das Essen super lecker. Komme immer wieder gerne und freue mich über Alternativen zu Fleischgerichten.
