Nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. The food was very good. Anyone who likes to eat Hessian specialties is in good hands here. However, the other dishes are also very good 😉 We'll definitely be back

The Guglhupf is one of our most popular restaurants. We eat there very often. Also recommended are the liver or the 400g willow veal steak. The fish offerings are also perfect. Flori and his team are always on hand to help you choose the dishes.

We have been to Guglhupf several times now and are always happy and satisfied with our choice. The whole team/service is always super nice and accommodating. You just feel comfortable, from the reception to the moment you leave. The food is always delicious, fresh and simply a pleasure. The variety of the dishes is also outstanding. It was my first time in this restaurant with a friend and definitely not the last time. It is very nicely decorated, the entire team is very friendly and the food is delicious 😋. There are enough parking spaces right in front of the door and the motorway is not far away.

We recommend the “Gugelhupf” without reservation. Today was an anniversary and we celebrated it with dignity. The food was tasty - the waiting time was rather short. The service was friendly, cheerful and accommodating. We liked the atmosphere. Everything was clean and tidy. No excessive decoration. The napkins with the house lettering and the thick, solid table tops look rustic and yet valuable. Finally, it should be emphasized that we find the price-performance ratio to be pleasant and justified.

We went there for a birthday dinner yesterday and were thrilled. Great service, plenty of parking spaces in front of the door. The food was excellent, generous portions at an acceptable price. Very good seasonal German cuisine. Homemade ice cream for dessert for every boneur. Children up to the age of 7 eat free, unfortunately this is no longer available everywhere. In addition to the menu, there is also a changing weekly menu. All in all, a great evening, highly recommended, will definitely come back. Thank you.

The food is delicious, value for money is completely okay :) There were five of us there with three cars - Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. - it was pretty full and the parking lot was overflowing. Part of our group had to park down the street. The service was relatively quick, you could see that almost every table was occupied and yet we didn't wait long for our food. Good service!

For so many years, the Guglhupf inn on the Egelsbach-Wixhausen section of the B3 has greeted me invitingly into my car when I drove on this route to Darmstadt... and in the evening, in the dark, the courtyard and house glowed so enchantingly homely, promising something beautiful to the eye... Now we were finally there... At lunchtime… in the scary winter weather you were warmly welcomed…. Got a nice place in the winter garden… had a delicious drink and a meal… As stated on the website, 100% implemented on site... A nice selection of local dishes… really tasty prepared and presented… the warmth and sovereignty are convincing and the guest feels seen and can enjoy… Here we leave with a smile in our eyes and a lasting feeling of well-being... The liver tastes good… and first of all the puree… my fish market salad is a dream… The recommended Pinot Blanc full-bodied... also the Rosé... Flashing glasses... sparkling cutlery… soft light…. Excellently thought-out ensemble in the sanitary area too... the green towels so awesome… Even seemingly small things there are plenty to marvel at in the Guglhupf... There is plenty of space for disabled people... Thank you dear Guglhupf team for you!!!

Rustically furnished inn with German cuisine. Some of the furniture seems a bit old to me. But the service is much worse. First, out of three people at the table, only two are asked about their drink preference. The waitress then left and after calling back the third order could be placed. The visit to the restaurant was topped off by a wait of a good hour for the food. The excuses were varied and apparently inaccurate, as other guests who arrived much later had already eaten when we received our meals. The food itself was okay, apart from the lukewarm to almost cold spaetzle. Tastes good and is reasonably priced. I would have liked to give it more stars, but maybe it will work better overall on the next visit.

It was a very nice evening in a really great restaurant. The traffic situation is favorable and there are more or less sufficient parking spaces available. If possible, I would recommend a taxi, as the restaurant is always busy and offers well over 100 seats. And in summer there is also a very large beer garden. So at full capacity, things can get tricky. The service and the kitchen are obviously battle-tested, because everything went quickly and still looked appealing. In terms of taste, I can only send high praise to the kitchen. Personally, I really liked the sinat pralines as a starter, although the beetroot was also delicious. However, you have to be allowed to have a favorite... As far as the choice of food is concerned, there is a wide range from good home-style to German-style, with something for everyone. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free are noted on the menu and, what I think is great, the local suppliers are shown. I really liked the concept. The rooms are bright, clean and recently renovated. The toilets also make a decent impression, which usually indicates a decent kitchen. In summary, I would definitely recommend a visit and it is best to make a reservation in advance. Even though I think you could still find a place...

It wasn't our first time at Gugelhupf and this time too we ate very well. We were currently there three days ago, on the first Saturday after the winter break. The restaurant was already full at 7 p.m., but our table was still available for us on time and beautifully prepared. Please make sure to reserve in the evening/weekend! The small adjustments and innovations on the map are a nice change. We had the green sauce hummus, the spinach dumpling with mushroom cream sauce, spinach and beetroot pralines, beef liver and the sea bass with vegetable risotto from the daily menu. We were very satisfied with all the dishes, everything was plentiful, beautifully prepared and very tasty. At the end there was a delicious dessert, also very nicely presented. Both the service and the kitchen are really on point! We were served drinks and food very quickly and in an extremely friendly manner. Respect and many thanks to the team. The only downside: when it's full, it's quite loud in the large dining room. Finally, a sentence about the washrooms: despite the large crowds in the restaurant, the toilets and sinks were clean and there were enough towels. All in all a clear recommendation for the Gugelhupf. We'd love to come back.

Very nice, cozy restaurant with good home cooking. The food was very tasty and the service was great! I was there as a wheelchair user and got help immediately as there were 3 steps to overcome at the entrance. A mobile folding ramp was placed over the steps 👍 Disabled-accessible toilets are available! Thank you!

We were there on December 25th at 1:30 p.m. and the inn was full to capacity. Hardly any possibility of movement at the table. The service team was very good, but unfortunately the food wasn't worth the price. My mushroom risotto was not edible. I think that too many visitors don't do the cuisine justice. Furthermore, there was no possibility to park in the parking lot. We'll try again in the summer...

Great and cozy atmosphere. Whether with friends or the company, the Guglhupf is worth a visit. The food is quite hearty but also really good. My Odenwälder Schnitzel was excellent and very well portioned (not for the small appetite). The stuffed beef olade, the fillet steak, rum steak and the onion schnitzel are highly recommended. The portions were quite large and tasted really good, but if you are only a little hungry you should order something else. The dessert also consisted of apple strudel with vanilla ice cream, which was very good and excellently portioned. The men's toilet is very well maintained and really nice. As a bonus, there are even small real towels instead of paper towels.

Great ambience, great food, great staff. All in all a restaurant that can be recommended. The original Wiener Schnitzel made from grass-fed veal was great, the breading was as it should be, the meat was tender and juicy. The dessert was delicious and the salad was fresh. The prices are partly justified, partly I find them a little unreasonable. For example, I found the extra side salad offered too expensive. But you can eat very well and comfortably.

I can only recommend this restaurant. The food is great 👍 5 stars! It's very cozy there. We sat inside. We weren't in the beer garden in November. Unfortunately, the beer garden is on a very busy country road, which is really loud. There's 1 star deduction here... But the operator can't do anything about that. We ended up there by chance and I would go there again any time. Ok... as we all know, you can't get a good meal for €10. But if it tastes good and the ambience is right, I'm happy to pay €20 - €30 for a portion.

We were guests here for lunch. ...and were satisfied. The inn is well organized and the staff is quick and committed. The menu is really rich. There is something for everyone here. Also nice..everything looks professional and no long waiting times.. We were there for the 4th time so this is not a hasty review. We'll be back.

Very tasty German cuisine, such as creative hand cheese dishes, cheese spaetzle or sausage salad etc. with good and very friendly, courteous service. There is always a daily menu of seasonal dishes and extremely tasty desserts, 7 days a week from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. (kitchen closes at 9:30 p.m.)

The food was good and the price was reasonable

It felt like I drove past the restaurant 1000 times. According to the parking situation, the restaurant was always very busy and the reviews were also good. So we decided to try this restaurant. Unfortunately, our first visit to the restaurant was disappointing. We ordered Wiener Schnitzel three times (around €25 each) and it just didn't taste like anything. For dessert we were looking forward to Kaiserschmarrn, which was simply extremely sugar-coated and was a real disappointment. We really hoped for more from the restaurant. The service was nice and the ambience is also quite nice.

Very good Hessian restaurant. The food is home-style and without a lot of frills, simply delicious. The portions are generous and flavorful. Everything is very fresh and, according to the menu, everything is locally sourced. Conditions are friendly, although sometimes a bit overwhelming when it's busy. After the renovation, the rooms are attractive and cozy. Outside there is still the option to take a seat in the beer garden. However, the main road that passes directly in front of it is a problem here. UPDATE: Unfortunately the food has gone down quite a bit. The schnitzels were very dry and hard and the fried potatoes were still quite al dente on the inside. Wasn't that great.

Employee celebrations - 9 people. When we first ordered they asked if 1.5 hours would be enough for us (🤔 was very cheeky), the food didn't taste particularly good. After all the action and fat receipt there were no shots or anything. Very unprofessional and guest unfriendly - never go back!!!

Einfach perfekt in allen. Sehr freundlich im Service und auch sehr kinderfreundlich. Der Fischerglück Salat war der beste Salat, den ich seit langem hatte. Auch die Preise stimmen. Wer hier meckert, sollte einfach zu Hause essen.

We were asked to leave because I put my Westie on a chair next to me, I had put a cloth on the chair that wasn't accepted so we left, we won't go there anymore, he can keep his food.

Quite a large inn, but one that packs a punch. On a rainy Monday in October we decided spontaneously based on the good reviews and were not disappointed. Luckily we called ahead and got one of the last tables reserved, it was completely booked. So you should make a reservation. Despite the full hut, super fast and attentive service. When the tourist asked how the Frankfurt Green Sauce tasted, a sample was quickly put on the table. That's how service works! The typical regional dishes were all super tasty, one better than the other. Highly recommended! We'll be back when we're in the area again!

It was just very uncomfortable. You were processed quickly so that the space was quickly freed up for the next person. The tables were far too close together and that made it extremely loud. A personal conversation is not possible! As a wheelchair user, there's no way you can get into the restaurant alone. What's the accessibility when you need help? The disabled toilets also need a lot of improvement. However, the problem starts when parking. There is no designated disabled parking space and it is almost impossible to get around in a wheelchair on the gravel parking lot. We expected a lot from the Guglhupf, but unfortunately we were very disappointed. The quality of the schnitzel was not particularly good and the food, including the salad, was very bland and tasteless. But it was quite expensive!

A cozy inn with rustic German and Hessian cuisine. When the weather is nice, you can sit in the beer garden. The service is friendly and quick. The food is tasty - I had an Odenwälder Schnitzel (cooked cheese schnitzel) with fried potatoes. The portion is easily enough for a really hungry person. 🙂After I saw the plates at the neighboring tables, I decided against starter and dessert. 🤔

Bei insgesamt 5 Besuchen gab es immer etwas zu beanstanden. Oft fehlte etwas beim Essen, was laut Speisekarte dabei sein sollte. Bratkartoffeln sind grundsätzlich verbrannt und fade. Vollkommen geschmacksfrei auch die Schnitzel. Dafür der Salat klebrig süß. Pommes sind so zugrunde frittiert, dass sie zerbröseln, wenn man die Gabel hinein steckt. Immerhin ist das Ambiente ganz nett und der Service meist aufmerksam. Aber auch stets sehr trubelig und laut. Gemütlich geht anders. Man gibt sich zwar einen gehobenen Anstrich, doch gilt das ausschließlich für die Preise. Die sind in Anbetracht des gebotenen einfach unverschämt. Kommt noch hinzu, dass man negative Bewertungen bei Google mit fadenscheinigen Argumenten löschen lässt. Da Google in der Benachrichtigung darüber die Adressen aller betroffenen Bewertungen angehängt hatte, konnte ich sehen, dass es weit über 100 waren. Man sollte die vielen positiven Bewertungen also durchaus kritisch sehen. Die negativen werden einfach gelöscht.

Guglhupf reloaded. The last time we were here was before the pandemic. A lot has happened, including new management. We were positively surprised by the modernized guest room. As before, the food was good and the price-performance ratio was inflationary. Sanitary facilities are sparkling clean and the sustainability concept for the towels is very good. All that remains to be mentioned is the super friendly staff...

My experience with the Guglhupf Wirtshaus is quite positive. We were there today with a very large group and had dinner. Unfortunately our group would be divided as it was divided into two rows of tables. The ambience is very nice. There is a pleasant parking lot and also opportunities to keep children busy. The food was distributed very evenly, which unfortunately affected the quality of the food. My fries were cold (just barely warm) and so were my partner's spaetzle. However, I wouldn't give this point much weight since we were really a large group. The food was very tasty but unfortunately too expensive for me personally. The Kaiserschmarren was also very, very small for €10. But the staff was perfect! Very attentive, friendly and competent, just as I expect. The menus are very lovingly designed and fit in very well with the rest. Extra praise to the bartender for his friendliness towards the guests. Conclusion: I can recommend the place if you value good service, food and ambience and money is of secondary importance. I would rather plan larger group events outside when the weather is nice.

Very friendly service. Unfortunately, most of the tables are reserved, so it's not possible to spontaneously visit the beer garden. This makes the employees seem pretty annoyed. Food is too expensive for me personally. I don't think the quality stands out for the price. Had a breaded schnitzel with fried potatoes that was ordinary. Not very big, thin and dry. Only kept warm in the pan. Salad is extra. Five euros, just for A side salad in addition to the expensive meat dish is too much for me. It's a shame, it's a nice location, clean and attractive and, above all, with its own parking space. This is now a criterion for me when I go out to eat somewhere.

The food was unfortunately unseasoned, the fried potatoes were burnt, the vegetables were sometimes bad, the Viennese schnitzel (veal) was unfortunately with tendons, which was a shame for the price. Great location, tucked away with plenty of parking. Amazing atmosphere and delicious traditional local food. The staff were very welcoming and spoke English. They even brought me a taste of the region’s famous green sauce. Paid 56 euros for a 3-course meal—worth every cent! Strongly recommend!

The onion schnitzel tasted great and the portion size was okay. The apple strudel was just lukewarm, the ice cream more liquid than solid. The service was good and the food came quickly. There is a deduction for the parking space (included in the service). When we visited, on a Friday evening, there was no parking space available.

We were very disappointed with the service... we ordered a cream schnitzel for a small child. A schnitzel with mushrooms came... when we tried to say that it was wrong we were loudly insulted that it was our fault because there was no cream schnitzel on the menu. Wow!!! Firstly, they could have pointed this out when ordering, secondly, there is cream sauce on the menu (but probably only in conjunction with spaetzle), and thirdly: the sound makes the music!! Especially when it comes to a child.

We have been coming here for many years and always enjoy eating here, whether as a couple or with the whole family, it is always really good. Friendly welcome, attentive staff and a very good price/performance offer. Even our dog is welcome there.

We had the schnitzel with cooked cheese sauce and the cheese spaetzle, both of which were very good. The service was very attentive, friendly and quick. It took about 15 minutes from ordering to serving. The restaurant was about half full when we visited, so the time was fine. The prices are still within normal limits, so they are quite reasonable considering the high quality of the food. The restaurant is located on a busy street, but you can't see or hear it due to a structural separation. We will definitely come back.

Been to the Guglhupf again. Always worth a visit. Today the construction noise alone was a bit annoying, but that's only temporary. Service first class as always. First I tried the baked hand cheese with green sauce, what can I say - crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and the green sauce in a separate bowl was also extremely tasty, as was (unfortunately only) one slice of farmer's bread. For dessert, Kaiserschmarrn. Since I couldn't decide between applesauce and plums, the dashing waiter simply brought me both. In fact I still can't say which was better, both were very, very good! Thanks for the successful afternoon snack!
