Quite a large inn, but one that packs a punch. On a rainy Monday in October we decided spontaneously based on the good reviews and were not disappointed. Luckily we called ahead and got one of the last tables reserved, it was completely booked. So you should make a reservation. Despite the full hut, super fast and attentive service. When the tourist asked how the Frankfurt Green Sauce tasted, a sample was quickly put on the table. That's how service works! The typical regional dishes were all super tasty, one better than the other. Highly recommended! We'll be back when we're in the area again!

It was just very uncomfortable. You were processed quickly so that the space was quickly freed up for the next person. The tables were far too close together and that made it extremely loud. A personal conversation is not possible! As a wheelchair user, there's no way you can get into the restaurant alone. What's the accessibility when you need help? The disabled toilets also need a lot of improvement. However, the problem starts when parking. There is no designated disabled parking space and it is almost impossible to get around in a wheelchair on the gravel parking lot. We expected a lot from the Guglhupf, but unfortunately we were very disappointed. The quality of the schnitzel was not particularly good and the food, including the salad, was very bland and tasteless. But it was quite expensive!

A cozy inn with rustic German and Hessian cuisine. When the weather is nice, you can sit in the beer garden. The service is friendly and quick. The food is tasty - I had an Odenwälder Schnitzel (cooked cheese schnitzel) with fried potatoes. The portion is easily enough for a really hungry person. 🙂After I saw the plates at the neighboring tables, I decided against starter and dessert. 🤔

Guglhupf reloaded. The last time we were here was before the pandemic. A lot has happened, including new management. We were positively surprised by the modernized guest room. As before, the food was good and the price-performance ratio was inflationary. Sanitary facilities are sparkling clean and the sustainability concept for the towels is very good. My experience with the Guglhupf Wirtshaus is quite positive. We were there today with a very large group and had dinner. Unfortunately our group would be divided as it was divided into two rows of tables. The ambience is very nice. There is a pleasant parking lot and also opportunities to keep children busy. The food was distributed very evenly, which unfortunately affected the quality of the food. My fries were cold (just barely warm) and so were my partner's spaetzle. However, I wouldn't give this point much weight since we were really a large group. The food was very tasty but unfortunately too expensive for me personally. The Kaiserschmarren was also very, very small for €10. But the staff was perfect! Very attentive, friendly and competent, just as I expect. The menus are very lovingly designed and fit in very well with the rest. Extra praise to the bartender for his friendliness towards the guests. Conclusion: I can recommend the place if you value good service, food and ambience and money is of secondary importance. I would rather plan larger group events outside when the weather is nice.

Very friendly service. Unfortunately, most of the tables are reserved, so it's not possible to spontaneously visit the beer garden. This makes the employees seem pretty annoyed. Food is too expensive for me personally. I don't think the quality stands out for the price. Had a breaded schnitzel with fried potatoes that was ordinary. Not very big, thin and dry. Only kept warm in the pan. Salad is extra. Five euros, just for A side salad in addition to the expensive meat dish is too much for me. It's a shame, it's a nice location, clean and attractive and, above all, with its own parking space. This is now a criterion for me when I go out to eat somewhere.

The food was unfortunately unseasoned, the fried potatoes were burnt, the vegetables were sometimes bad, the Viennese schnitzel (veal) was unfortunately with tendons, which was a shame for the price. The veal cutlet was also no longer fresh, which was also a shame for the price. Great location, tucked away with plenty of parking. Amazing atmosphere and delicious traditional local food. The staff were very welcoming and spoke English. They even brought me a taste of the region’s famous green sauce. Paid 56 euros for a 3-course meal—worth every cent! Strongly recommend!

The onion schnitzel tasted great and the portion size was okay. The apple strudel was just lukewarm, the ice cream more liquid than solid. The service was good and the food came quickly. There is a deduction for the parking space (included in the service). When we visited, on a Friday evening, there was no parking space available.

We were very disappointed with the service... we ordered a cream schnitzel for a small child. A schnitzel with mushrooms came... when we tried to say that it was wrong we were loudly insulted that it was our fault because there was no cream schnitzel on the menu. Wow!!! Firstly, they could have pointed this out when ordering, secondly, there is cream sauce on the menu (but probably only in conjunction with spaetzle), and thirdly: the sound makes the music!! Especially when it comes to a child.

We have been coming here for many years and always enjoy eating here, whether as a couple or with the whole family, it is always really good. Friendly welcome, attentive staff and a very good price/performance offer. Even our dog is welcome there.

We had the schnitzel with cooked cheese sauce and the cheese spaetzle, both of which were very good. The service was very attentive, friendly and quick. It took about 15 minutes from ordering to serving. The restaurant was about half full when we visited, so the time was fine. The prices are still within normal limits, so they are quite reasonable considering the high quality of the food. The restaurant is located on a busy street, but you can't see or hear it due to a structural separation. We will definitely come back.

Been to the Guglhupf again. Always worth a visit. Today the construction noise alone was a bit annoying, but that's only temporary. Service first class as always. First I tried the baked hand cheese with green sauce, what can I say - crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and the green sauce in a separate bowl was also extremely tasty, as was (unfortunately only) one slice of farmer's bread. For dessert, Kaiserschmarrn. Since I couldn't decide between applesauce and plums, the dashing waiter simply brought me both. In fact I still can't say which was better, both were very, very good! Thanks for the successful afternoon snack!

In addition, some Hessian specialties are served, such as green sauce or hand cheese. The prices are mediocre. Schnitzel costs an average of €17.50. The food is good, but nothing special. The interior is air conditioned.

Were there with 14 people and three smaller children. We are all big. There were one or two elbow duels. Whoever sat against the wall really suffered.

It was a very nice evening in a really great restaurant. The traffic situation is favorable and there are more or less sufficient parking spaces available. If possible, I would recommend a taxi, as the restaurant is always busy and offers well over 100 seats. And in summer there is also a very large beer garden. So at full capacity, things can get tricky. The service and the kitchen are obviously battle-tested, because everything went quickly and still looked appealing. In terms of taste, I can only send high praise to the kitchen. Personally, I really liked the sinat pralines as a starter, although the beetroot was also tasty. However, you have to be allowed to have a favorite... As far as the choice of food is concerned, there is a wide range from good home-style to German-style, with something for everyone. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free are noted on the menu and, what I think is great, the local suppliers are shown. I really liked the concept. The rooms are bright, clean and recently renovated. Went to the Gugelhupf inn for dinner for the first time. The ambience inside and outside is very nice and inviting. The food is freshly prepared and of very good quality. In terms of taste, it was a delight. I would like to emphasize the very friendly and courteous service. No matter who served us. The waitress always asked whether we needed anything else and whether we were satisfied. As a guest at the Gugelhupf Wirtshaus you feel very well looked after!

I would like to lodge my complaint about my recent visit to this restaurant. Unfortunately the service was very unfriendly from the start. The lady (Ana) who served us looked at us with a long face. When we received the food we discovered that it was not cooked thoroughly. However, we decided not to say anything. While paying, the guys in our group made some jokes in our own language (Romanian) which had nothing to do with the service but were just internal jokes for us. However, the waitress misunderstood what was said and reacted very aggressively. She directly asked our names and threatened us that we would never be allowed to come to the restaurant again. She did not attempt to interact with us in a friendly manner to understand or defuse the situation. When we asked for the manager she continued to be condescending and we had to insist in order to speak to him. Unfortunately, the manager was also unable to resolve the situation to our satisfaction, even when he attempted to bring the waitress to our table to resolve the conversation. Overall we were very disappointed with this experience. We expected to have a pleasant evening in your restaurant, but the behavior of the waitress and the lack of support from management completely prevented this. Edit with answer: The staff should limit themselves to the languages ​​they know and not other languages ​​where they do not understand the connotations, especially since we only addressed the staff in German at this restaurant. I find the management's response very disappointing, especially when it comes to discriminatory behavior that was evident from the beginning. Never been treated so badly in a restaurant! I asked and the person who treats the guests so badly is the “head” of service. I wonder how someone like that can allow himself to do that! Very poor performance for Egelsbach where there is such good service in town.

Friendliness is not their quality. They "allowed" us a reservation only for 1h, and when we arrived all the tables were empty, and continued to be, for the next 2h there. Food: Undercooked schnitzel, undercooked liver. Our "dinning attendant" was not so interested in helping, serving and taking care of our table, and always assigning tasks to other trainees there. Ordering food was terrible, making fun of the words pronunciation in german, when german is not the mother tongue. When I had to pay I didn't left any "trink geld" due to the above mentioned reasons, and she started to make a scene that we don't come anymore there.. very funny.. we asked the manager to come. Nothing was settled. We had issues also with the languages, as not all of us speak german, so speaking a different language than german in their restaurant is not recommended, as advised by the manager. I recommend that the manager and server goes to a customer service training and language training. Include, under their badge name on the chest, the languages they speak. You visit a restaurant to enjoy and have a nice evening, but not the case here.. they forgot that the client needs to be welcomed with a smile on the face and needs to placed on the #1 spot until is leaving the restaurant. Not going there soon.. :) never say never.

Highly recommended, regional dishes, very tasty and varied. Nice service, whether inside or outside, you can sit well everywhere. There are enough parking spaces available. We were very satisfied and would like to come back.

Our first visit after the renovation, as it is not possible with a dog. Had a lovely evening with delicious food. Great praise that the meat comes from good, regional sources. You should see it more often.

We eat with two small children. The waitress brought the food so that the children ate first so we could enjoy our warm steak. Kudos for that. The two rump steaks were fried to perfection as ordered medium/rare and medium. The vegetables on the side were fresh and delicious. We'd love to come back.

Great ambience, super friendly service, but once again the food didn't live up to expectations in any way. For us, the restaurant was once part of upscale gastronomy. The times are over. In terms of quality, the Gugelhupf can now be placed in the chip shop category. The starter salads were delicious. But the rump steak, cooked sour vide and then panned over high heat, was cold. The vegetables were mushy, the fried potatoes were mushy, still okay, the completely burnt ones were discarded. The Jägerschnitzel also arrived cold, the hot but watery, tasteless sauce warmed it up a little. The sauce couldn't hide the fact that it was apparently a finished product that had been baked in the deep fryer, it was tasteless cardboard. At least the sauce was made with fresh mushrooms. Maybe we'll visit the Gugelhupf for a cold beer after a hot summer day, because it's nice there. But we definitely won't eat here again.

The service was super accommodating, attentive, fast and incredibly friendly and gracious (despite the house being full AND two medium-sized parties at the same time!). The food was absolutely excellently prepared, the courses were not served too close together but not too long in a row either. The ambience is cozy and modern at the same time, inviting you to linger for a longer period of time. All in all excellent!

Stopped here for lunch in the afternoon. The restaurant is located on a busy main road (noisy background) and the beer garden is right next to the parking lot with plenty of shade. The service was attentive and not unfriendly. Large portions, quite reasonable for the price. The food was well-crafted, just a little under-seasoned. But salt and pepper were on the table. The salad was very fresh and the dressing was delicious. What we like... that there is always hot food and that we can eat warm food at lunch time.

Delicious local food like eggs with green sauce and apple cider. Particularly nice - there are many vegetarian dishes, which are also clearly marked on the menu. Also top - game dishes made from regional game. (Unfortunately this is often the case in New Zealand) The service was quick and friendly. Clear recommendation!

We have been to Guglhupf many times now and it is always wonderful. Food and dessert very tasty. Delicious apple juice and homemade lemonade. And service is just great.
