Beautifully situated in the forest with a fantastic view of Marburg. A cozy beer garden. The food was delicious and the prices fair. The staff is very friendly.

After a successful climb, you've earned a delicious snack. You can enjoy it at the Spiegelslust forest restaurant, with friendly service and a very pleasant atmosphere.

Initially, we were told that card payments weren't possible, which we weren't told when we made our reservation. The food was simply awful. The chicken breast was marbled, the fries were half-raw, the chanterelle mushrooms were mushy and tasted like frozen food, and the Gorgonzola sauce on the schnitzel was floury and tasted like nothing else. Our feedback was noted, and even though some of us didn't even eat half of the food, they didn't even offer a discount on the price. When we finally wanted to pay, they suddenly accepted the card option. More than disappointing.

The food was delicious and good value for money. The portions were normal, not excessive. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful view. We loved that the restaurant is open all day, from lunch to dinner.

The food was largely standard, somewhat uninspired but tasty, and served extremely quickly. The prices are very fair. The service was impeccable. I only saw the outdoor area, but in good weather, the location (in the forest, on the edge of the cliff, with a view of Marburg) is of course excellent. For a "day trip restaurant," it's definitely above average.

After hiking 8km, I was hungry. When we arrived, we had to order and pick up food and drinks inside or at the window. So: get up, order, sit down, get up, get drinks, sit down, get up, get food, sit down. Although hardly anyone was sitting in the beer garden and no one inside at all, the young man taking orders preferred to play with his phone rather than serve the few guests. (When I asked why it was self-service, I was told that one of the assistants was sick and the other simply hadn't shown up.) We had a Gorgonzola schnitzel with fries and a Spiegelslust schnitzel with fries. There was no side salad. The food was ready in less than 15 minutes. (I don't know if it was frozen, the food was quite tasteless. I felt it lacked seasoning.) In any case, after the hike, it didn't fill me up. We had a large 7Up and a wheat beer with both schnitzels. The total came to €41.50. A sign said payment for amounts over €20 was possible with a Girocard, which is a Visa debit card. But they actually meant EC cards. When I pointed out that this was causing confusion, I was told that they had previously offered EC cards, but customers wanted to pay with Visa. Luckily, we had cash with us; otherwise, it would have been impossible to withdraw money anywhere. However, it's a very pleasant place to linger for a cold drink or two and enjoy the view.

A wonderful destination to relax and sit comfortably in nature... I recently met up with a friend there on a hot summer day... pure nature... wonderful!!!

Very friendly staff and a great view. Sitting outside under the shady trees is very pleasant on hot days. The food is very tasty and served in a reasonable time. We went there once with nine people and again with seven without a reservation and got a free table right away, but not everyone is so lucky. Therefore, I definitely recommend making a reservation. I'm already looking forward to our next visit.

Service is fast and friendly. The prices are reasonable. Unfortunately, the food was a bit bland and nothing special, and fries simply come with ketchup and mayo, so you can just give them a bottle and not have to ask for sachets. As a night out, with the location, view, and ambiance, it's good.

Unfortunately, the location and the great view were the best part of this visit. The service was attentive but instead of non-alcoholic wheat beer, banana wheat was served. The white wine spritzer was a maximum of 0.2 liters and that for €6.90... Mozzarella Caprese as well... I think the cost of goods was a maximum of €2 and that's €14.90. The two main courses were also by no means tasty. It was the worst thing we have ever eaten, carelessly prepared. Hardly seasoned. With love and the right know-how and a good chef it could be a real goldmine🤔🙄

Nice excursion restaurant with a really nice beer garden. The food is delicious and the prices are ok. The beer garden offers wonderful city views. Parking is available, but with a lot of visitors it can be tight. We'll definitely go there every now and then. Try it out 😋

Unfortunately I can't describe my impression because the first thing I heard after entering the (almost empty) restaurant was: big dogs are not allowed in the restaurant, unfortunately I have to ask them to leave. At the same time, two small dogs barked and growled at us from the next table in an unmannered and unregulated manner. Our unwanted large dogs remained peaceful and calm. We would have liked to have something to eat, so I can only recommend every potential visitor to take another trip

This reminds me of the Schöne Blick restaurant in Frankfurt. Really very nice restaurant found here in Marburg.

The rump steak was not medium rare, but rather bloody, the fries that were on the same plate were soaked in blood, there were small bags of mayonnaise like at the chip shop, the schnitzel was covered with mushroom sauce, which was done by frying it until it was crispy beforehand if it then got soggy becomes. They didn't respond to my complaint at all. The whole restaurant looks old. I haven't eaten so badly in a long time.

Not suitable (in my opinion) for a refreshing drink after the climb. Because card payments will only be accepted from 20€ - and that in 2024! but it's nowhere. Something like that disqualifies, then not 🤷‍♂️

We were there with 16 people. The food was consistently praised. I had Schnitzel Spiegelslust...totally delicious. Nice and attentive service. Price/performance fits 100% I'd love to come back.

We were registered here for lunch as a large motorcycle group. Unfortunately, despite the weather, we had to eat outside, which was quite uncomfortable... The food was OK, although I would have liked something more vegetarian (grill buffet). The restaurant itself seemed very classy, ​​the bathrooms were extremely clean and the hot water flowed automatically! Water. There were small textile towels to dry off with.

The view is beautiful. The condition was nice, but only reluctantly allowed people to pay by card. The food was almost unseasoned. The sauce simply pureed tomatoes with some dried, tasteless herbs. Never had such bad pasta with Bolognese sauce.

Food quality: The chicken breast fillet with chanterelles was a flat 100g piece of chicken schnitzel and the chanterelles had little taste. The same thing with the pasta with chanterelles. Lots of oil on both and not seasoned. No binding of the individual foods in the overall taste. The dressing for the side salad was either ready-made dressing or poorly seasoned, far too thick and just a blob on top instead of being marinated through. 90% iceberg lettuce. The food came noticeably quickly, too quickly even with perfect preparation, which is certainly one of the reasons for the result. At the next table I looked at the pizza: completely covered in cheese, similar to the pizza you often get at a kebab shop. Overall very low - medium level, quality was saved when purchasing. There wasn't too much going on, that couldn't have been the problem. The price: Chicken breast (26), pasta (16), side salad (7.90), shandy 0.3 (3.80), non-alcoholic wheat (4.90), espresso (2.90). Total 61.50 euros. Nothing unusual for Marburg these days, but the price of the food absolutely doesn't match the quality. Service: Friendly and tried hard, but criticism of the price-performance ratio was not taken seriously and the expensive purchase was pointed out. As a reminder: the chicken was a schnitzel instead of breast fillet as advertised and the salad consisted of 90% iceberg lettuce. That's why I don't understand this as an explanation. In the end it was billed incorrectly, but I only noticed now. Instead of the side salad (at the beginning I was kindly pointed out the option of having a smaller salad that wasn't even on the menu) the mixed starter salad was charged. Summarized: Great to stop for a drink when the weather is nice because of the beautiful view, but it's better to eat somewhere else. The conclusion is also hidden in other reviews, although I don't understand how you can give it 4 stars. I only gave it 3 stars because of the view and the nice waitress.

Essensqualität: Das Hähnchenbrustfilet mit Pfifferlingen war ein flaches 100 g Hähnchenschnitzelstück und die Pfifferlinge hatten wenig Geschmack. Bei der Pasta mit Pfifferlingen das gleiche. Unmengen Öl an beidem und nicht abgeschmeckt. Keine Bindung der einzelnen Lebensmittel im Gesamtgeschmack. Das Dressing zum Beilagensalat war entweder Fertigdressing oder dürftig abgeschmeckt, viel zu dickflüssig und als Klecks einfach oben drauf statt durchmariniert. 90% Eisbergsalat. Das Essen kam auffällig schnell, selbst bei perfekter Vorbereitung zu schnell, was auch sicherlich mit ein Grund für das Ergebnis ist. Am Nebentisch noch die Pizza beäugt: mit Käse vollständig überzogen, ähnlich wie man oft Pizza beim Dönerimbiss bekommt. Insgesamt niedriges - mittleres Niveau, beim Einkauf wurde an der Qualität gespart. Es war nicht allzuviel los, daran kann es nicht gelegen haben. Der Preis: Hähnchenbrust (26), Pasta (16), Beilagensalat (7,90), Radler 0,3 (3,80), alkoholfreiem Weizen (4,90), Espresso (2,90). Zusammen 61,50 Euro. Nichts ungewöhnliches heutzutage für Marburg, aber der Preis für das Essen passt absolut nicht zur Qualität. Service: Freundlich und bemüht aber Kritik am Preis-Leistungsverhältnis wurde nicht ernst genommen und auf den teuren Einkauf hingewiesen. Nochmal zur Erinnerung: Das Hühnchen war ein Schnitzel statt wie ausgeschrieben Brustfilet und der Salat Bestand zu 90% aus Eisbergsalat. Das ist für mich als Erklärung daher nicht nachvollziehbar. Am Ende auch falsch abgerechnet, aber hab ich jetzt erst gemerkt. Statt dem Beilagensalat (ich wurde zu Beginn noch freundlich auf die Option hingewiesen, einen kleineren Salat zu nehmen, der gar nicht auf der Karte steht) wurde der gemischte Vorspeisensalat abgerechnet. Zusammengefasst: Zum Stop auf ein Getränk bei schönem Wetter toll wegen der schönen Aussicht, aber Essen gehen lieber woanders. Versteckt sich als Fazit auch in anderen Rezensionen, wobei ich dann nicht verstehe, wie man 4 Sterne geben kann. Die 3 Sterne habe ich lediglich wegen der Aussicht und der netten Kellnerin gegeben.

Nice place to sit outside. The waitresses are quick and attentive. The food was also served quickly. I had a delicious Jägerschnitzel. The price/performance ratio was right. Some dishes would be too expensive for me. That is of course a matter of opinion. Definitely a nice place. Also for drinking coffee.

The last thing I ate was the Spaghetti Carbonara, you wouldn't think it was anything special, but it was really absolutely fantastic and the taste couldn't be compared to any other "Carbonara" that you can eat anywhere else. Completely different level and a very reasonable price.

A nice shop in itself, lots of seating available, nice atmosphere.. Child friendly. Good and fast service, especially friendly. Beer was okay but there was no wheat on tap. It had little carbonation. Unfortunately I have to say that the food was okay. As quickly as it was ready, I would say everything was thawed completely (except the salad xD) and that's how it tasted. Like I said, it was okay. But unfortunately too expensive for ready-made food.. Definitely recommended for a quick SNACK.

🌟🌟🌟Walk or drive down a 1-lane wooded path that opens to a spectacular view! Great beer. Great food. Great view! Our server was kind and patient and understood our American English. Inside is quite lovely as well (for days that weather is not cooperating⛈️☔️) They DO NOT take foreign (Visa or Mastercard) credit. Cash or local German cards. Thankfully, our friends helped, so we didn't have to wash dishes! If I lived locally, I would be here all the time. Absolutely wonderful ❤️

What is it, a German or an Italian restaurant? Neither the German food was well prepared nor the Italian. Pasta soft pizza like from the freezer. Asparagus with steak for €34 3 sticks of asparagus and a steak with breadcrumbs?, sauce from the bag. Oh yes and 3 potato halves. Not recommendable. But there's an orange slice on every plate that doesn't go well with the meal. Schnitzel looked like it came from a chip shop. Hardly any parking spaces at the restaurant. Bare furnishings and the staff didn't enjoy their work.

1 star for swimming pool fries. Otherwise it wasn't a nice visit. I also expect nice, friendly and alert service from a restaurant. Unfortunately we got 3 disinterested waiters who we had to run after in the end to pay. At the time, the restaurant had about 6 tables occupied, which is nothing on a nice afternoon. Sticky cards don't work either. Love is missing there.

Nice excursion restaurant in the forest. However, the staff shortage is noticeable and things don't always run smoothly. Eating is very quick as it is well prepared. Schnitzel so-so but still okay. Unfortunately, in times when the restaurant can't find any staff, there's probably no other option. There is potential here, but the implementation is not perfect. Interiors also very nice and tidy, toilets clean.

Positive: the location in the forest with a beautiful view, playground and free parking. Inside everything is a bit old, but okay. Service was so-so. Negative: the food... Tomato sauce tastes like canned tomatoes without any spices, the salad was completely bland with ready-made dressing and the fries had no salt and were almost frozen inside. I would go there if only for a drink outside.

In and of itself a beautifully located inn with a nice beer garden. If only it weren't for the unfriendly and sometimes arrogant staff. It started with the waiter turning up his nose because “only” three bottles of water were ordered out of six people. The food came very quickly, almost too quickly, especially for a schnitzel. If a Viennese-style schnitzel has been prepared correctly, the breading on the outside is always a little wavy from the prompting. It doesn't stick directly to the meat. Wasn't the case here. Way too even and smooth. There was also a lack of seasoning on the meat. The pizzas were relatively small and didn't taste anything special. Definitely not Italian. The salads, some with soft cheese and chicken, were far too small for the price. However, the dressing was tasty and good. The tartufo and tiramisu were okay. However, the ice cream for the children was a disgrace. Not only did the industrial ice cream have a lot of ice crystals from freezer burn and therefore didn't taste good at all, but you also had to charge a whopping two euros for a very small ball... The price-performance ratio is not right here at all. On the bill I discovered an item for 50 cents, which had been charged for the ketchup with the schnitzel. Overall, it can be said that there is a lack of hospitality and a good atmosphere here. Apparently there are enough tourists coming.

The restaurant is located a little below the Spielgelslusturm, but can be easily reached by car or on foot. It's incredibly comfortable, you have a great view of the city of Marburg and you can also sit outside (in summer) and enjoy the beer garden feeling. The dishes (we had schnitzel) are really delicious and tasty. The Allgäuer Büble Edelbräu is highly recommended as a beer.

Das Restaurant liegt mitten im Wald in der Nähe des Kaiser-Wilhelm-Turms. Kostenfreie Parkplätze sind vorhanden. Gerade im Sommer, wenn der Biergarten geöffnet ist, hat man einen sehr schönen Blick über Marburg (inklusive des Schlosses) und die Umgebung. Das Restaurant ist schön gestaltet und im Winter ist ein schöner Kamin in Betrieb. Der Gastraum ist durch die großzügige Glasfront sehr einladend und hell. Heute habe ich das Restaurant im Rahmen einer Wanderung zur Mittagszeit aufgesucht. Mein Handyakku (Samsung / Android) war leer und die Restaurantmitarbeiter haben mir freundlicherweise Ihr Ladegerät zur Verfügung gestellt, so dass ich das Handy laden konnte. Insgesamt ist die Bedienung sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Neben typisch italienischen Gerichten (Pasta / Pizza) bietet das Restaurant auch Schnitzel und Steaks an. Das Essen ist auf jeden Fall gut. Insgesamt ist das Restaurant sehr zu empfehlen.

Wir waren dort gestern essen mit 10 Personen und es war fürchterlich. Schnitzel waren zäh,panade viel so ab,die Sauce und das Gemüse hat nach nichts geschmeckt, Bratkartoffeln waren ich wirklich Bratkartoffeln,eher Kartoffeln in Würfel man kurz angebraten. Kaum vegetarisches oder etwas vom Rind,nix für kleine Kinder. Und am Telefon wurde man noch belogen nur um anscheinend Gäste zu locken. Service war ok. Und sehen sie nicht mehr wieder. Ambiente war gut. Sehr schade ,denn so wurde der Tag echt ein grauen und wir sind noch woanders essen gewesen.

Sehr schönes Restaurant mit netter Bedienung. Zum hinfahren etwas abgelegen und die Straße dahin ist nicht die beste, allerdings ist das Essen gut und die Aussicht Klasse.

Super Service mit tollem Ambiente und schönem Ausblick und das Essen war auch top. Wir würden immer wiederkommen.

Fing an zu regnen und wir wurden drinnen platziert. Essen wurde schnell gebracht, war wirklich preiswert und lecker. Das Personal war auch sehr freundlich zu uns und ging gut gelaunt auf uns zu.

Gutes Essen und richtig guter Service

Wir waren gestern spontan in der Gaststätte essen und es war echt schön. Wir haben am Spiegelslustturm geparkt und sind das kurze Stück durch den Wald zu Fuß gegangen. Angekommen wurden wir herzlich begrüßt und hatten im Biergarten freie Platzwahl. Das Wetter hat super gepasst und draußen zu sitzen und die schöne Aussicht zu genießen. Für Kinder super toll, da es viel Platz zum rennen und toben gibt und auch einen Spielplatz. Das Essen war gut, es hat super geschmeckt, da gibt's nichts zu beanstanden. Vielleicht für das was man auf dem Teller hat ein wenig überteuert, aber gut, dass ist Ansichtssache. Wir hatten gebackenen Weichkäse und eine Pizza Capriciosa. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und auch auf Zack. Getränke kamen schnell und auch das Essen war zügig nach Bestellung auf dem Tisch. Die Toiletten sind sehr sauber und riechen auch gut und das Restaurant sah innen auch super gemütlich aus. Sicher eine gemütliche Anlaufstelle für eher schlechtes Wetter, der Wintergarten war wirklich toll.

Von dem Restaurant Spiegelslust hat man einen schönen Blick auf Marburg mit Landgrafenschloss und Elisabethkirche .

Anscheinend sind die Preise hier der Lokation und dem Ausblick geschuldet. Der Service ist mies. Wenn mich eine Servicekraft ansieht und keinerlei Reaktion zeigt, sondern sich locker weiter unterhält, mit wem auch immer, ist das mieser Service.. Für ein Rumpsteak mit Pommes 30€ anzusetzen, ohne auch nur das Gewicht des Rumpsteaks anzugeben, zusammen mit gewissen visuellen Eindrücken haben uns zur Flucht veranlasst. Die Lage des Restaurants mitten im Wald verleiht ihm eine idyllische Atmosphäre. Der Blick auf die umliegende Natur und Stadt Marburg ist atemberaubend und sorgt für ein einzigartiges Erlebnis. Das Essen war ebenso beeindruckend. Die Speisekarte bot eine vielfältige Auswahl an Gerichten. Die Qualität und der Geschmack des Essens waren hervorragend. Der Service im Restaurant war freundlich und aufmerksam, was das Gesamterlebnis noch angenehmer machte. Ich kann dieses Restaurant im Wald jedem empfehlen, der eine erholsame Zeit in der Natur genießen und gleichzeitig kulinarische Genüsse erleben möchte. Es ist definitiv einen Besuch wert!
