It was actually very nice, the food would have benefited from a little more spice, but everything was ok. Unfortunately, the 1.5 hour wait really clouded the overall picture. The location is great, right on the lake. We go there occasionally. But it is noticeable that the food is consistently nothing special - and the prices are. Examples: a very boring salad with a fried “Backhändl” for €16.80. Wiener Schnitzel, quality OK, for €26. If it had been good, no problem, but it was average and overpriced. Last week at live music the glass was a run-of-the-mill wine for €7.00. Parking cost €5 that evening - in the middle of nowhere at the edge of the forest. I think people get blinded by good marketing in their reviews. We continue to go there occasionally because of the location, but the ratio of price to quality is not right.

We went to this restaurant for the first time today because it was recommended to us and we absolutely love it!! The atmosphere is super nice, right on the lake, there is a nice playground for children and there is a beer garden next to the restaurant. The service was all very friendly and the food was delicious (the knuckle was one of the best we've ever eaten, despite staying in Bavaria for many years ;) We'll definitely be back!

We've been there several times and have always been directed to a table we didn't want. That's why we made a special reservation for an important event today. It turned out that we measured it with different measures, absolute zero stars, unfriendly behavior and absolutely unworthy of customers. Since even the authorities there are being bullied from side to side, I can only recommend that everyone think twice about going there.

There were six of us and we had reserved a table inside. When we were there, we were seated outside at the only table in the sun. All other outdoor tables were occupied. It was extremely hot. The question of whether we could sit indoors was answered in the negative several times. In the end we persevered and ate in the sun. We had finished eating and everyone was completely sweaty. I can't even say what the food tasted like. It was just stressful and hot. It's a shame that people are so inflexible there. Therefore I ask the management directly: Do you want to eat directly in the sun in the scorching heat (for money!) while you see empty tables in the shady indoor area 10 meters away?

Sunday afternoon, wonderful weather, just enjoy it. You can do that at the Wirtshaus am See! I recommend making a reservation, but you can also be lucky like we were and get a place for two. The staff is friendly and accommodating and drinks requests can be accommodated very quickly. Despite the large selection, the menu is clear and there should be something for every palate. Excellent quality and good taste characterize the traditional, yet modernly interpreted cuisine. Praise at this point goes without saying. The pork knuckle was perfect and the Bavarian cabbage with it was very tasty. You can also treat yourself to something sweet with the standard coffee variants. The seating outside is sufficient for larger groups, children are also welcome and there is also a self-service area. Smoking is permitted at the sites. The beach chairs with a wonderful view of the lake are an insider tip! You can reserve this for 3 hours and get wine, a dish, water and a shot for 98 euros (as of July 2022), a great date idea. In terms of price, it's in the middle range overall, but it's worth every cent. There is nothing comparable in the surrounding area. Also a good place to stop for a break for cyclists. Clear recommendation, very happy again and again! Many thanks to the entire team at the inn!

We had reserved for the grill buffet, but unfortunately it was canceled. Too bad, so we had to choose from the menu. The cucumber salt lacked spices, as did the green sauce. The onion roast was tough and the sauce was very salty. We were also disappointed with the knuckle, very dry. The food is always great. But if I make a reservation by phone and ask for a table for two people, as a smoker I don't want to sit at a non-smoking table for 8 people. So unfortunately not as enthusiastic this year as last year. However, due to the strong influx, there is no need to keep regular guests, which was evident today. Free would have been enough. On a sunny, hot Saturday we were warmly greeted on the terrace and our order was taken quickly. The quality of the food is okay but of course in the area of ​​system catering. The young, male waitress seemed a bit confused and brought the food to the wrong table first (it can happen). The surroundings right on the picturesque lake are unbeatable. We will try the self-service beer garden again on another day (only from 4 p.m.).

Very, very nice terrace, nice view, solid food. In the adjacent self-service beer garden there is an LRS system that automatically notifies when food is prepared - but card payments are not available. What's stopping you from offering card payments in 2024? Not understandable.

Mein Kollege und ich waren beruflich unterwegs und hatten nur begrenzt Zeit für unsere Mittagspause. Direkt nach Ankunft bestellten wir an der Theke und baten um möglichst flotte Bedienung. Den Ratschlag, Weißwürstl zu bestellen, weil die am schnellsten gehen, nahmen wir gerne an. Als nach einer halben Stunde noch immer keine Wurst in Sicht war, fragten wir beim "Oberkellner" nach und bekamen die patzige Antwort: "Wenn Ihr keine Zeit habt und schnell essen wollt, müsst ihr zu McDonald's". Tatsächlich kamen kurz darauf die knapp lauwarmen Würstchen in einer langweiligen Brühe, am besten geschmeckt hat noch die Brezel. Vielleicht wäre ein Abstecher zum nächsten Fast-Food-Laden tatsächlich die bessere Alternative gewesen...

I came to the inn from Mainz to try it out. I was seated at the reserved table which had not been cleared. I took care of the crumbs, the napkin on the floor and the order on the table myself. After 15 minutes I was noticed and was able to order a drink and food. I ordered onion roast with the homemade coleslaw. Older pieces that were dry and hard were placed between the freshly prepared roasts. The sauce was too salty and the spaetzle was sometimes hard. Coleslaw was ok, but for €4.50 I could have done with a bit more. There's not much you can do about the rising prices, but there's also a lack of quality. It's a shame that this pub focuses more on maximizing profits instead of customer satisfaction

Five of us visited this location after a wonderful day at Lake Kahler and were really disappointed with the service and especially the food, five different dishes and all of them were tasteless and overpriced and the side salad we ordered was also not only overpriced, but small and forgotten . We urgently wish you improvement and good luck with the Mini 0815 dishes. We weren't asked whether the food was tasty.

If you want to spend a lot of money for little food, this is the right place for you. Quality wasn't convincing enough to justify the prices. Spaetzle is very dry and the Jägerschnitzel is not breaded.

Update were back today, unfortunately there was no more steak, the menu went up and down several times. Unfortunately, the steak was gone, the food was still good, but we didn't feel comfortable, we are both strong and the table and benches were small as if pressed in, I could have used another table at the back, but it was loud there, as I am extremely sensitive to noise (due to illness) it wasn't a choice for me, the children's screaming was too loud for me, I have nothing against children, they were just very loud loud. I think next time we'll go outside because it was really pleasant there, but I had made a reservation for inside. But we'll still come back because the food is really good. And maybe there will be steak again :)

Die persönliche Besprechung vor Ort, die Begrüßung an dem Tag der Feier und der weitere Verlauf war für alle ein unvergesslicher Abend mit köstlichem Essen, tollen Vorspeiseplatten, leckeren Getränken und professionellem Personal. Wir hatten eine lockere Atmosphäre, die Location am See mit der Grillhütte ist einzigartig. Ich bekam einen Tisch für Geschenke, durfte Musik laufen lassen, der Kuchen wurde gekühlt. Das Preis Leistungsverhältnis stimmt hier auch. Ich kann es jedem, der im Sommer mit Freunden unbeschwert feiern will uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. Um unserem Fahrradausflug ein Ziel zu geben, haben wir nach einem vermeintlich guten Restaurant gesucht und sind innerhalb unseres Suchradius auf das "Wirtshaus am See" gestoßen. Die Photos sahen ansprechend aus und die Erwartungen entsprechend hoch. Wir hatten nicht reserviert. Als wir ankamen, war es sehr voll, aber wir bekamen sofort einen Tisch im gewünschten Außenbereich. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt wirkte alles noch recht professionell, auch wenn sichtbar war, dass es sich hier eher um ein Ausflugslokal als um ein Restaurant handelt. Die Enttäuschung war das Essen, das Kernstück eines Restaurantbesuches. Mit der geringen Auswahl an Speisen kann man noch leben, dann sollten diese aber wenigstens in positiver Erinnerung bleiben. Bestellt wurde als Vorspeise eine "Maxi-Brezn" mit Butter und als Hauptspeise ein Jägerschnitzel (2x Pommes als Beilage, 1x Spätzle als Beilage) mit Tagessuppe und Beilagensalat. Die Maxi-Brezn war eine Standard-Brezel, die es in gleicher Qualität auch in jedem Discounter gibt. Nichts Schlechtes, aber halt nicht das, was man zu dem Preis und bei der Bezeichnung erwartet hatte. Die Tagessuppe war eine Kartoffelsuppe, an der man den "intensiven" Eigengeschmack der Kartoffel nicht mit irgendwelchen Gewürzen oder Kräutern zerstören wollte (Ja, das ist Sarkasmus). Das Jägerschnitzel hat jede Kantine wie ein Sterne-Restaurant aussehen lassen. Die Pommes steinhart, die Spätzle in Kaugummikonsistenz, zwei kleine unpanierte Fleischscheiben und eine Champignon-Rahmsauce. Alles in allem bei 3 Personen knapp € 90,00 incl. Getränke. Hier wieder der Eindruck das Ausfluglokals, die keinen Wert auf Kundenbindung legen, da ja ständig neue Opfer kommen. Echt Schade um das Geld und die verbrachte Zeit.

Went there today (on a Sunday) with a reservation for lunch - luckily early enough to get a parking space. When we drove away after dinner there was pure stress in the parking lot, which was obviously too small. Except for one young lady who seemed annoyed, the service was courteous, nice and natural. Drinks and food came quickly, even though almost all tables were occupied. Knuckle, Wiener Schnitzel, fries, green sauce and bread were really tasty. Unfortunately, the coleslaw had an overdose of caraway seeds and was inedible. Therefore no full marks for food and service. After reading your answer, our total points collapse, dear Mr. "Owner", i.e. due to your astonishingly cynical answer, we now have a "0" recommendation: So you mean, we could have arrived by bike with my almost 90-year-old mother to secure a parking space to receive... from Darmstadt? Although they advertised for Mother's Day in a grandiose way, their comment is unfortunately unacceptable and age-discriminatory. Thanks no... now we definitely won't be coming back!

The beer garden is a great location with a very nice view of the lake, the restaurant also offers very tasty food... A cool Munich Helles with it...perfect! The service is courteous and friendly. Right next door there is a small playground with a climbing park and slide for younger guests...great for families. 5/5 stars!

Failure from start to finish! Nice location, that's it. We had reserved for 2 people on our wedding day. The waitress brought us to the table. From then on, NO ONE served us for 35 minutes! We told her that we would also like to finally order food. She sent us the waiter (He probably has a better position!?) About 40-50 years old, initial with M. He took our order and said that we can't order an appetizer because it's too busy and it's not comes in time. We accepted that and ordered the salads with the main course. We still found it ridiculous, but remained polite. Our food still didn't come after 2 hours. People who came an hour after us left already full. The waiter wanted to explain to us that it was busy and depending on what you ordered, it would take a while. Understandable! However, we ordered green sauce+eggs+potatoes and the starter salads. Where's the problem? Do the herbs still need to be planted? We pointed out to him that only 50% of the tables were occupied and that if the weather was really nice he would be completely overwhelmed and then we went to eat at the Hotel Zeller. Luckily we got something around 9:30 p.m. When you're 9 months pregnant, you're hungry at some point. There was a lot of service staff to see. But nothing seems to be working in the kitchen? A pity! Wir waren heute zum ersten Mal hier. Es hat alles gepasst! Wir haben einen tollen Tisch mit direktem Blick zum See bekommen, das Wetter war perfekt, Essen, Getränke und der Service super! Wir werden definitiv wieder kommen.

Especially since I have already invited my guests!

We had lunch/afternoon today, it was very good, great food, very nice service! Despite being busy!!

Nice place, nice staff. Unfortunately we were disappointed with the food, and not for the first time. We would come back for a few drinks in good weather.

Beautiful Paulaner See restaurant with Bavarian dishes. Acceptable prices.
