Very nice and helpful service. The portions are large and the prices are affordable. Only the wine prices are too high in my opinion, the prices in nearby restaurants are much lower. Still, I recommend it.

We were guests in August 2024 with a larger group, mixed with meat lovers and vegetarians. The positive first. The atmosphere is really nice and harmonious and you feel comfortable. No train station atmosphere, but a cozy old restaurant that knows how to present itself, which, however, has a bitter aftertaste, as you will unfortunately quickly notice when eating that you were relying on one-off guests. The service was very different compared to our group. Some of us complained of a rather unprofessional, cheeky behavior, others, including me, of a nice but not outstanding behavior. After us, a tourist tractor load of Americans came in, who were greeted with Cologne and whatever else the cliché heart could give. Unfortunately it was a tourism trap in my opinion. The food was OK, but for the price it was an absolute disgrace. The frozen food was an infusion in the local deep fryer and didn't turn into a 20-33€ dish. The selection for the vegetarian palate was clear and there was still a fried aftertaste even though everything ended up in the same deep fryer. Since we came here to eat, it remains an overall rating of one star. The postponed Cologne carnival stronghold was not ours at all. Service was OK on average, the ambience was great, but the prices weren't right at all. I cannot recommend the Drosselhof.

We met one of the owners. Jon and his brothers took over this establishment a little over a year ago. They have turned something which was already nice into an even more beautiful spot. The upstairs now consists of 2 flats for rent. They are brand new remodeled with great space, classic chic look, very clean, nice bathroom and kitchenette and an amazing view over the Drosselgasse, and a view up the grapes all the way to the Niedereald Monument. Their location is incredible. You can sit and enjoy wine while looking at the Drosselgasse and along the road, which takes you to Seilbahnen for the Monument. It's the perfect corner for relaxing. Jon is so friendly, and his wine selection and knowledge are awesome. His love for Rüdesheim is infectious, and we can honestly say that he made an awesome weekend even more romantic and beautiful.

We visited the Drosselhof with a large group of friends and hoped that the particularly advantageous location in the picturesque old town street that gave it its name would not only provide an aesthetically and stylistically appealing experience, but also good food. While initial expectations were definitely fulfilled - the old building has chic wall decorations and original decor - the food falls short of expectations. Obviously used convenience food, starter cheese platter, carelessly taken out of the Aldi packaging, chopped up and peppered with pretzel sticks and everything was slightly overpriced. Due to its location and the constant stream of Far Eastern tourists who may not have any reference sources for these dishes, the shop does not have to score points with special quality in order to make good sales and he knows that too. Regrettable.

We had dinner at the Drosselhof today, very good food (kudos to the kitchen), very nice, cozy restaurant, the food was served very quickly, the service was very friendly (Kerstin puts her heart into her work, thanks for the fun conversation , kind regards from the Palatinate and Franke 😉) we felt very comfortable and can only recommend it. We will be back.

We visited this wine garden and restaurant in 2021 and 2024, of course, for the wine, special food and great atmosphere. Exactly, we want to visit here again.

Touristy spot not the most authentic German food. Also the waiter insisted we tip, we were happy to tip before that but didn’t appreciate the rude pressuring from staff.

Americans beware if you don’t speak the language they will fill out a tip on your receipt that is 2x 3x the normal amount and pretend it was a language barrier. If you catch them doing this they compensate you with a bottle of wine. The food was ok The atmosphere was acceptable The service was quick and courteous … right up until it came time to pay. The manager was the one who filled out the tip so I assume it’s a systemic issue at this location. I would recommend avoiding this place.

The Drosselhof was recommended to us and we tested it on our last visit. Unfortunately, the menu only has really hearty, classic German dishes. If you're looking for something light and healthy to eat, you're in the wrong place here. The food arrived quickly after ordering, but unfortunately the schnitzel was still dripping with fat. The cuisine is designed for tourism and a quick change of guests, which you can't blame in such a tourist place and you shouldn't expect anything else. However, I would have liked a salad as a main course or something else easier on the stomach, which is why I deducted one star. The service is phenomenal! Very friendly, genuine smile on his face, very attentive and accommodating! We absolutely loved it!

Outdated party restaurant. I had a cordon bleu thrown in the deep fryer. The cheese has made itself comfortable in the deep fryer. Plus a few fries. No salad garnish. Mayo and ketchup from the discount store. I stopped after two attempts and fled.

Last week we were in Rüdesheim once again for a few days and ate in the Drosselhof on three evenings and had lovely evenings. The food was very good, as was the wine. We were served very friendly, quickly and courteously by Mr. Hamoudi, he has a complete overview. The Drosselhof is highly recommended.

We were at the Drosselhof on Saturday around lunchtime. Almost everything outside was occupied - inside we were the only guests. The prices were usual for the Drosselgasse, the service was very nice and the food was delicious.

Once and never again! The service is a total disaster. No one who is a guest needs to say “make room so I can serve” and “pass down what’s ready.” The good man in service can't do math either. We were only day tourists, but we spent 120 euros on coffee in half an hour. Total disappointment and not recommended.

Been there yesterday. Been treated very rudely. Five of us weren't allowed to sit at the front. They were supposed to go to the large table that was further back on the terrace. We would all have understood this if the restaurant had been full... But there were only two people present. Then why do you have to change? We then left again without eating or drinking. Service very rude.

Good food, delivered quickly and very courteous staff

The food and place were just fine. But the service was terrible. I waited 30min for the bill, during which time I walked over to staff three times to ask for the bill before any action was taken (twice I had to go into a different room to find someone). One woman (who I think was in charge maybe?) told me I just had to wait because the large group was getting their coffee - I found her very condescending. As usual, it only took a minute for us to pay and there were few others in the restaurant so it would not have held the group up. The waitress was apologetic when she finally came, so I wonder if it was poor expectations/management from the boss - I don't think she had forgotten or didn't care. This was the only time in my life I've seriously thought of walking out without paying.

As Rüdesheimers, we went to the Drosselhof and were not disappointed. The sauerbraten was super tasty and tender. We also had tomato soup which was also very tasty. It's quaint and definitely worth a visit. The ladies are friendly and the menu is manageable with German cuisine.

Excellent Sauerbraten? We enjoyed our lunch here waiting for our Viking Cruise ship (Missed Bus).

The food and wine were good, and so was the Rüdesheimer Kaffee. My main complaint is when we paid, the waitress took my card and automatically ran my card, which was obviously from a US bank, through in USD instead of Euros instead of asking my preference or just charging in Euros leading to a poor exchange rate and a surcharge.

Unfortunately we have? Fortunately? Caught an evening in December when it was relatively empty, which certainly lost a lot of the atmosphere. Nevertheless, the Drosselhof is really very rustic, which is really nice. Our service was very friendly and funny and the food was also completely fine.

You can't even imagine 1727, but the rooms exude history. We felt very comfortable.

Extrem unfreundlicher Service, schlechtes Essen.

Wenn man unhöflich und schlecht bedient werden möchte, wenn man klitzekleine Portionen Zwiebelkuchen, der flach, klein und hart ist mag und für extrem schlechte Qualität und kleine Portionen viel Geld zahlen möchte, kann man hingehen. Für einen leckeren Snack auf gar keinen Fall einkehren! Ich hatte meinen Federweißer ausgetrunken und mein Glas wurde abgeräumt ohne zu fragen, ob ich noch was möchte. Ein Federweißer und eine Cola sowie 2 kleine harte Stücke Zwiebelkuchen für EUR 22,50! Dachte erst, die haben den falschen Bon mitgebracht!

Wir wollten hier einen fröhlichen stimmungsvollen Abend mit Livemusik verbringen und es fing zunächst auch gut an. Wir hatten einen schönen Platz und eine freundliche Bedienung. Das Essen kam allerdings so schnell, dass wir stutzig wurden. Es erschloss sich jedoch recht zügig, denn unmittelbar danach teilte uns die Bedienung mit, dass wir den Tisch räumen müssten, weil eine Touristengruppe angemeldet sei. Und es gab tatsächlich in dem ganzen riesigen Restaurant keine zwei Plätze mehr für uns! So kam es, dass wir nach nicht mal einer Stunde regelrecht aus dem Lokal geflogen sind, das ist uns bisher noch nie passiert! Der Drosselhof ist also die reinste Abfütterung für Bus- und Schiffstouristen und daher für andere Gäste absolut nicht zu empfehlen.

Die Bedienung war sehr höflich. Das war es auch. Ich bestellte Saumagen und das war wirklich qualitativ und quantitativ sehr enttäuschend. Ich empfehle da eher die nächste Wurstbude. Klassische Tourifalle.

Gerne schreiben wir wirklich gute Rezensionen. Daher fange ich hiermit auch an. Der Federweise meiner Frau, sowie mein feinherber Riesling waren den Preis wert. Wir hatten uns jeweils für eine Kleinigkeit zum Mittagessen entschieden. So bestellte meine Frau einen gebackenen Camembert. Dieses Essen war ok, aber auch nicht mehr. Ich hatte ein Stück Zwiebelkuchen zum Preus von 6,50 Euro. Grundsätzlich nicht schlecht, wenn man nicht einen Bohrhammer benötigt hätte, um den Boden des Kuchens durchtrennen zu können. Dieser war wirklich steinhart. Evtl. lag es am Erwärmen in der Mikrowelle??? Der Kellner war gelinde gesagt; muffelig, als hätte er vergessen dass er schon drei Jahre in Rente ist. Sorry, aber das hatten wir uns anders vorgestellt.

Essen bestellt und nach 45 Minuten nachdem schon mehrere Gäste die nach uns kamen ihr Essen erhalten haben Nach nachfragen wurde mitgeteilt das der Bon runter gefallen ist und dass essen gleich kommt 5 Minuten später kamen von 2 Essen 1 richtig und das 2 war leider falsch Weitere 5 Minuten Wartezeit und endlich konnte gegessen werden Qualität lies zu wünschen übrig

Essen war soweit in Ordnung, allerdings waren die Bratkartoffeln weich und fettig. Bezahlen sehr schwierig, da alle mit einer Reisegruppe beschäftigt waren. Essen kam schnell, aber alles sehr kantinenmässig, schade.

Wir saßen draußen und wir wurden beim Essen von Touristen angelotzt und fotographiert, die die Drosselgasse entlang gingen. Wir glotzten die Passanten an und fotografierten diese. Es war einer der tollsten Urlaubserlebnisse ever.

Das Essen war grundsätzlich recht gut, nur die Bratkartoffeln weich und fettig. Wein war OK und die Bedienung sehr freundlich und bemüht. Der Alleinunterhalter sollte mal ersetzt werden, denn die Sangeskünste sind teilweise recht übel.

Muss mich hiermit mal zu Wort melden da ich einige Rezensionen nicht sehr fair finde. Habe schon öfters im Drosselhof verweilt und bin immer zufrieden gewesen. Angefangen beim Ambiente, der Küche und auch dem Service alles absolut gut, freundlich und ansprechend. Die letzten Kritiken wegen den Reservierungen sind meiner Meinung nach nicht sehr überzeugend . Der Drosselhof ist ein hochfrequentes Speiselokal mit Livemusik, guter Küche und Stimmung. Es wird sich sehr viel Mühe gegeben alle Kategorien zu bedienen und das Multi- Kulti Publikum zu erfreuen. Für mich ist dies auch gelungen. Nun zum eigentlichen, auch ich habe immer reserviert mit mehreren Leuten und auch bei mir ist es schon mal passiert das ich nicht den Tisch bekam den ich gerne gehabt hätte aber es wurde mir immer ein Ersatztisch angeboten und hey bei so einem Andrang der in diesem Hause herrscht ist das nicht mehr wie normal. Man kann auch mal Fünfe gerade sein lassen. Natürlich sieht das jeder anders aber Leute geht mal in Euch, haben wir keine anderen gravierenderen Probleme. Sollten wir nicht froh sein nach Corona und der momentanen Weltsituation, Inflation und Insolvenzen, sehr schlechte Voraussetzungen in/für die Gastronomie das es noch ein paar Menschen gibt die sich bemühen. Ich kann und werde den Drosselhof weiterhin gerne empfehlen.

Uns wurde „Der Drossehof“ von einem Bekannten wärmstens empfohlen und ich weiß jetzt auch warum: ein sehr uriges Restaurant in der Drosselgasse mit deutscher Küche und dem gewissen Etwas. Auf der Speisekarte findet sich eine großzügige Auswahl an Gerichten. Die von uns gewählten Speisen waren geschmacklich sehr lecker, reichlich und wurden von einem zuvorkommenden Service serviert. Zu empfehlen ist ebenso die Weinauswahl. Wir haben uns alle sehr wohl gefühlt und wurden am Ende freundlich vom Betreiber verabschiedet und mit einem kleinen Schmankerl für zuhause von dannen geschickt. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder. Nur zu empfehlen.

Für mich war die Bedienung Isabella das einzige positive. Das essen war in meinen Augen leider garnicht gut. Es war alles sehr fad und sah nicht hausgemacht aus. Die Rösti und Maultaschen waren ziemlich sicher Fertigware. Die tagliatelle mit Pilzen schmeckten wirklich nach Garnichts, da half selbst Salz und Pfeffer nichts. Dafür waren die Preise aber gesalzen. Klassische Touristen-Kneipe..

Kann die letzten Rezensionen überhaupt nicht nachvollziehen. Waren wiederholt dort und sind immer zufrieden gegangen. Typische Gastronomie für die Drosselgasse und passende Musik, was man dort auch erwartet. Mir kommt es vor als wenn die Schreiber mal wieder über das Netz ihre Macht gegenüber dem Dienstleister ausspielen wollen. Irgendwann wird es diese Dienstleister wegen solchen Gästen nicht mehr geben und dann werden gerade diese Menschen dies am lautesten beklagen. Prost !

leckeres Schnitzel, geschmackloser Sauerbraten

Wir sind hier eingekehrt, weil es veganes Schnitzel gab. Das waren leider Gemüsescheiben der ersten Generation mit Pommes. Es ging, aber ein Highlight war es nicht. Leider begann dann die live Musik, so dass wir schnell gehen mussten, weil das überhaupt nicht unser Geschmack war.

War mit mehreren Freunden hier und wollten uns auf der Terasse zur Drosselgasse hin setzen. Die Bedienung verweigerte es uns und so mußten wir weiter hinten auf der Außenterasse Platz nehmen. Wir bestellten verschiedene Speisen und Getränke, die leider nicht über ein Mittelmaß hinauskamen, wie wir zu fünft festgestellt haben. Anscheinend hat man genug Laufkundschaft damit man sich nicht richtig Mühe geben muss..

We were on a Viking cruise with a stop in Rüdesheim, Germany . Our cruise director and a large group of us went here for a very enjoyable evening of eating, singing and dancing. It really did give us a taste of the local culture as well as the food. It is a beautiful space and very historic. We really enjoyed the experience on every level!

Our Viking river cruise had an excursion to here. Although we had a lot of people, the service was fast and the food was good. For us they provided several selections of authentic German food which we enjoyed.

Gaststätte direkt in der Drosselgasse. Essen mittelmäßig, Preis Leistung ok. Laute Musik durch einen Alleinunterhalter für die ausländischen Touristen. Dies soll Deutschland wiederspiegeln. Von Elvis bis Böhmischer Traum war alles dabei, Gesang schlechtes Deutsch. Toiletten nur durch eine Treppe zu erreichen. Ausstattung aus den 70er Jahren. Wir sind sofort nach dem Essen gegangen, da wir uns wegen der Touri Bespaßung nicht wohl gefühlt haben.

Selten so schlecht gegessen ☹️...nur die freundliche Bedienung Izabela konnte unsere 10köpfige Gruppe noch bei Laune halten. Kurz zusammengefasst waren die Speisen zu fettig, schlecht bzw. gar nicht gewürzt. Manch ein Magen hat es dem Küchenchef übel genommen..... Das Restaurant ist vom Ambiente her auch etwas in die Jahre gekommen und lebt wohl von der berühmten Adresse - Qualität sieht anders aus, schade!

Die Location ist sehr hübsch und nett. Mit einem kleinen Mäuerchen und einer Glasfront mit direktem Blick zur Drosselgasse, wirkt alles sehr einladend - wenn auch natürlich etwas touristisch angehaucht. Blumen auf Fensterbank & Tischen und Verzierungen der Bänke & Geländer tragen zur Gemütlichkeit bei. Es gibt sowohl einen hübschen Bereich im Freien (der auch mit einer Markise überdacht werden kann) als auch ein nettes Plätzchen drinnen. Verbesserungspotenzial findet man dann aber schon direkt am Sitzplatz: Die Tische sind etwas schmal und können gut 20 Zentimeter breiter sein. Personal kommt dann aber äußerst schnell zum Tisch. Getränke werden sofort gebracht; auf das Essen muss man nur kurze 5-10 Minuten warten. Das Personal ist im Allgemeinen freundlich, wenn auch teilweise etwas barsch. Auch Hunde sind herzlich willkommen und sowohl ein Napf mit Wasser als auch etwas kleines zum Essen werden gebracht - letzteres ist wirklich selten. Das Essen ist rundum zufriedenstellend. Über den örtliche Sauerbraten mit Klösen und Rotkohl kann man sich nicht beschweren (3/5), das Rumsteak mit Pommes frites schmeckt hingegen sogar äußerst köstlich (4/5). Beides wird mundgerecht serviert und ist gut gebraten. Wer ein nettes, aber einfacher gehaltenes Restaurant sucht, bei dem man gemütlich sitzen und sein Essen genießen kann, ist hier definitiv nicht am falschen Platz. Es gibt in der Umgebung sicherlich auch noch bessere Restaurants, diese kosten dann aber auch meistens dementsprechend. Hier wird man nicht enttäuscht und im Allgemeinen ist es weiterzuempfehlen.

Touristisch angehauchte Lokalität mit schnellem, freundlichem und schnellem Service der auf das enge Zeitfenstr der Besucher eingerichtet ist. Die Getränke sind sehr gut, besonders der Wein, natürlich! Unsere Teller haben sehr gut geschmeckt, der Lachs mit dem Rösti ohne Schwächen und die gekochten Eier mit der grünen Soß eine Überraschung, weil die Soß ausgezeichnet war.

First of all, the restaurant looks pretty nice from the outside and has a charming outside seating area along the famous Drosselgasse. We both ordered their Sauerbraten. The food was okay, we have had better Sauerbraten in our life. The value for money was okay, so was service.

There are so many interesting looking and well rated restaurants in Rudesheim that it is difficult to pick your poison. After a complete Old Town walk-through twice, reading menus, etc. we settled on Weinhaus Drosselhof because they offered fresh Escargot and the music inside was...

I love this place. The German customers here are so inviting and welcoming. I only speak English and some of them only speak German, yet they encouraged me to dance with them. The live entertainment is very fun and the food is excellent!

Heel lekker geeten veel eten voor de prijs maar alleen spijtig dat de garcon vraagt of hij geen drinkgeld krijgt...

Excellent food, and delightful staff. Children's choices, good. Live music bit dated but suits the atmosphere. A really pleasant evening.
