We were at the Margarethe Restaurant Essen today for our 38th wedding anniversary. The table reservation was great. Everything happened over the internet. When we arrived there, we received a very friendly welcome. The table was very festively set. The food was excellent, everything was freshly prepared and the staff was very accommodating. Sehr freundlicher und unkomplizierter Service, schmackhaftes Essen, angenehme Räume. Obgleich wir relativ spät am Abend kamen, wurden wir überaus freundlich begrüßt. Der Service war hilfreich und zuvorkommend, dabei sehr angenehm locker. Die Karte ist übersichtlich, und es ist für jeden etwas dabei. Geschmacklich und optisch wurden auch alle Erwartungen bestens erfüllt.

It was just great! We were greeted very friendly and shown to the table. The rooms are very rustic and you feel like you are in Greece. A good selection of drinks and food on the menu. The dishes we ate were generous in portion size and also very tasty. The selection of fish and meat were great. Thanks for the food and drinks, keep it up!

Tried to get a table for 2 people at short notice, which wasn't a problem. The service was really good and the food came quickly and was also very tasty. The prices are also appropriate. The plates are nice and big and well filled, so you'll definitely be full. We'd love to come back.

Homemade Thuringian dumplings and a goose breast with sauce and Rotraut: a Sunday dinner just as I wanted it. The atmosphere is also, as expected, very secret, as it should be in the village. The service is very courteous and friendly. I and the others who were there (8 people) really enjoyed it and enjoyed it. Highly recommended.
