Bedienung und Service waren gut, Kuchen und Kaffee ebenfalls. Die Räumlichkeiten lassen kein gemütliches Kaffeetrinken zu, es ist sehr laut, sehr schade.

We were here for the first time today. Completely exhausted after an 8km hike, we were kindly let in and said, "You can sit at the counter", even though it was packed. All the ladies were super friendly, we were served quickly, and the food was top class, grade 1 from us. Despite the crowds, the waitress always had a smile on her face. Stay as you are. We would be happy to recommend you. Maybe we'll see each other again sometime. It was beautiful and delicious Thank you

We went to the Waldschlösschen for lunch and I was impressed by the service, the food and the friendliness of the staff. The food selection is very good and delicious 👌😋. But you should make a reservation here for the weekend, it is really very busy and recommended. We will be back definitely. 👋😁

Romantically located in the Thuringian Forest. We were there for coffee. The cakes and tarts are all freshly prepared daily and are very tasty. Inside you feel like you've been transported back in time. Everything is still furnished like it was almost 100 years ago, very nostalgic and loving. The house is family run, everyone is very nice. Everything is done to make you feel comfortable there. We went there to have coffee on a festive occasion. The table was festively set and there were lots of delicious cakes to choose from.

5 stars are not enough for the Waldschlösschen! Cake selection and taste are first class. The staff does a fantastic job!

We were there after a hike Cafe & Restaurant Waldschlöschen Stopped in and had a delicious wild garlic soup. Then a piece of cake from the fantastic cake buffet, all homemade Made by the dad of the 3 lovely sisters who took over the forest chowing from their dad. The whole ambience and the dining rooms, They are in the style of the 60s, just to feel good. There are enough photos floating around, just go there and feel good.

I returned to this time-honored house with my husband to have coffee. We chose a nice table for two in the dining room and didn't have to wait long for the waitress, who very kindly invited us to choose our cake at the counter. Man oh man, what a huge offer!!! A paradise for those with a sweet tooth like us. With very good coffee, we enjoyed these works of art baked and created by the chefs themselves and thought it was a shame that our stomachs weren't bigger. In any case, we will come back again and again and again because there are still so many varieties. We wish all the good brownies and ladies from the Waldschlösschen lots of strength and energy and all the best!

Service was simply top class, something I've never experienced before. Cakes and tarts were great, just like grandma's. I can only recommend it if you are nearby.

We “only” visited the café. The cakes were to die for. The staff is just great. If you want a place, you should reserve in advance. At 2:15 p.m. almost all seats were occupied.

A really beautiful place. The hotel and restaurant are pleasant and the service is exceptionally friendly. The rooms are not "mainstream" and somehow everything is consistent. Anytime again with great pleasure!

We were invited and have never been here before. We found it very busy, too many tables in a small space and therefore very crowded on a public holiday. The cake was tasty, the staff was very friendly. It would have been nice if we had been advised about hearty food. There was no card for this on the table Parking situation for people with mobility problems is catastrophic, even worse in bad weather. Highly recommended as a hiking restaurant, but reserve in advance. Which is of course always a bit difficult when hiking. We can't understand the big hype.

The Waldschlösschen Friedrichroda has the largest selection of delicious cakes and tarts that I have ever seen. The pieces are huge, delicious and absolutely inexpensive. I always eat half of it in the cafe and have the other half packed up for home 😊 I haven't been here for dinner yet, but the soup for lunch was very good and lovingly prepared. I often come to the Waldschlösschen; the house is slightly offset from the road, right on the edge of the forest. The staff and management are genuinely friendly to the guests. There is always a good mood, which is passed on directly to the guests. The furnishings are quaint and cozy and it is pleasantly warm. Everything is very clean. I'll be staying in the Waldschlösschen for the first time at Easter and I'm really looking forward to it. Thanks to the good location, you can eat first, then hike or hike first and then eat 😉 Unfortunately, this house is no longer an insider tip, so it's a good idea to reserve a table in advance. But so far we have still spontaneously found a place 😊 There are also two very nice terraces. Thanks to the Kühmel family and the whole team!

We were here for coffee as well as for lunch 2 days later. The selection of cakes is very large. The 4 cakes chosen all tasted very good. Today for lunch the reserved table was beautifully set and the birthday child was even congratulated. The food was very original and professionally prepared and tasted very good. We were surprised by the iced tea, which was literally taken here, and also the dessert. Highly recommended. Reservation strongly advised.

We had dinner in the restaurant in the evening and we really enjoyed it. Great attention was paid to our reservation with a small child. When we arrived there was already a high chair with painting supplies ready. The service was very accommodating and the food was really tasty. We really enjoyed our own creation of the “Omelette Suprise” dessert. We have arranged another visit on site.

Just top top. Rarely have we been greeted so warmly, and we only bought a piece of cake to take away. The cakes are incredibly tasty and made in-house. The address in the area for cafés and cakes. We will be back. :)

Thank Google for landing there, otherwise we would have missed it. Rather inconspicuous from the outside - a bit of a shame. Inside the bear is humming and all the cakes are presented to you in peace and quiet and in the most beautiful Thuringian style - very tasty and varied!! It was great !!! Keep it up !!

Unfortunately we haven't been to this café/restaurant before, but today we went there for coffee. Although the café doesn't open until 2 p.m. (we were there at 1:15 p.m.), we were able to test out the mega selection of cakes in the restaurant. On the upper floor (café) we were able to choose the cake, which we then ate in the restaurant. We were given a really friendly welcome and you can tell that the guest is king here. The young team is really nimble and you can tell that they have fun at work. The furnishings are very cozy and you feel very comfortable. We'll definitely be back!

Mega delicious cakes/tarts that are also pleasing to the eye. Beautiful atmosphere with lots of old things as decoration and furniture. Friendly, open service. And it's been a long time since I got a real mocha and then from original GDR cups - simply brilliant. Felt completely at home and definitely wasn't there for the last time.

Dieses Cafe sollte man bei einem Aufenthalt in Freidrichroda unbedingt mit einplanen. Ein Spaziergang über den GEO-Bergbaupfad führt dort vorbei, oder man fährt mit dem Auto auf den Wanderparkplatz direkt vor der Tür und wandert zur alten Bobbahn. So lässt sich ein perfekter Ausflug mit leckerem Kuchen und sehr gemütlichem Ambiente verbinden. Im Cafe kann man sich viele alte Dinge ansehen, die mit der Geschichte der Pension mit Konditorei zu tun haben. Wirklich sehr empfehlenswert!
