The Waldschlösschen is a place that one wishes would still exist in a hundred years. We have rarely encountered such genuine warmth. Cakes, tarts, ice cream and food in the restaurant are excellent and recommended. I still knew the forest castle as a child. We vacationing children always played with Matthias on the slope behind the house. Today his daughters run the house. The hiking trails start directly behind the house. There are enough parking spaces available. An absolute must in Friedrichroda.

We had lunch in the restaurant with 20 people and were completely impressed. The food was very tasty, freshly prepared and the portions were generous - no one went hungry. The friendly and attentive service took excellent care of us and created a pleasant atmosphere. We would be happy to come back and can only recommend this restaurant for a successful lunch. This restaurant cooks with a lot of professionalism and ingenuity. Whether it's chicken with turnip vegetables, venison with red cabbage and Turkish dumplings or black charcoal with salsify - the combination is perfect, the seasoning is harmonious and we recommend it for every dish. Gladly again!

A very clean restaurant and the food is just great, I'm not an Asian fan, but I would go there again and again, everything is super fresh and very tasty, can only be recommended 😎

The food is home-style oriented. I had the lamb loin and absolutely loved it. That doesn't happen often. Everyone else involved also enjoyed it very much.

The man with the gold chain sometimes makes comments from the kitchen window that don't fit the ambience. The pepper sauce tasted like artificial sauce.

The hotel is not the youngest, but has everything you need and, above all, is clean. The staff is super nice, whether at the reception or in the restaurant. Lots of opportunities for children to let off steam. The food was delicious, but the menu sometimes didn't match the food, which sometimes made children sad. The fact that a large cola costs more than a large beer is not nice. The elevators take forever.

Food quality inadequate. After a waiting time of about 50 minutes, mashed potatoes made from ready-made powder, salmon and venison goulash are completely fried, therefore firm (sometimes already hard) and very dry. A disgrace for the chef and therefore not recommended, even if the service tries very hard.

Gasthaus am Weg zur Marienglashöhle. Freundliche, schnelle Bedienung, leckeres Essen. Biergarten vorhanden. Vom kostenlosen Parkplatz muß man ca. 200m laufen.

Dem guten Ruf und der vergangenen Besuche folgend waren wir heute zum Mittagessen in der Tanzbuche eingekehrt, um den 64. Hochzeitstag unserer Eltern gebührend mit einem guten Essen zu begehen. Leider wurden wir sehr enttäuscht. Trotz eines tollen Ambientes waren die servierten Speisen durchweg enttäuschend. Das Preis/Leistungs-Verhältnis absolut nicht stimmig. Die Linsensuppe war völlig versalzen und offensichtlich schon mehrfach aufgewärmt, die Entenkeule waren ebenso weder frisch noch knusprig und auch schon mal aufgewärmt, die Entensoße völlig versalzen und pampig. Alles in Allem war der Besuch sehr ernüchternd.
