The hotel is not the youngest, but has everything you need and, above all, is clean. The staff is super nice, whether at the reception or in the restaurant. Lots of opportunities for children to let off steam. The food was delicious, but the menu sometimes didn't match the food, which sometimes made children sad. The fact that a large cola costs more than a large beer is not nice. The elevators take forever.

Friedrichroda is a beautiful place. Ideal for hiking through the Thuringian Forest. The AHORN Berghotel is visible from a distance and is therefore always easy to find. We'd love to come back!!!

At short notice we booked a few days' vacation with our grandson. Since it was our first time here, we didn't know the Yoki Ahorn Children's World concept yet. We were very positively surprised and there's nothing else to complain about. The buffet in the morning and evening was always very varied and tasty. Anytime again... we don't just have one grandchild.

We had gotten married the day before and we had asked to come a little earlier. No problem and there was a bottle of champagne there too. Totally delighted, thank you again for that. Otherwise everything was great. We'd love to come back 👍🏻

Registration reception/lobby Very good // Towels only got after the 3rd day upon request in the lobby, very poor room service, a brochure from Ahornholel was stuck to the table in the room by the previous person, we left it and it wasn't put down. The water ran out of the shower in the bathroom, so we used the towels to soak up until they were gone. In the lobby we were given some to use the swimming pool. We had registered at the reception one day so that our grandson could create an ice cream for us, here we were rudely turned away (service), we wanted to order something on the terrace when the weather was nice and we could only get it indoors.. If stars are distributed only 1 .maxial 1+

Parking fee of €9 for housekeeper is a rip off.

We spent a few days vacation here. It was a wonderful time... big compliments to the reception staff, the service staff and all the other employees. The hotel is not the youngest...but the special flair of the construction is unique. Breakfast was great as usual at Ahorn. There are a lot of leisure activities. All around a recommendation...we'll be back.

Large hotel with lots of leisure activities. Rooms simple but comfortable. Fantastic views of the forested mountain slopes; Family room without balcony on the 7th floor. Staff very helpful and fond of children, from the cleaner to the waiter to the receptionist. The waiters do hard work, so I think it's right and important to give tips. Great offer for children: children's pool, mini golf, playground with bouncy cushion, ropes course, goat enclosure, everything is great. The playroom is a bit dreary, but our daughter still liked it. Animation program available, unfortunately no aqua fitness. Everything together is partly comparable to a Spanish holiday hotel. When the Tobeparadies is finished, we'll come back. Food very good for a 3 star hotel. Tasty, varied with a very good salad bar. Outdoor area well maintained with flowers and bushes. Even pretty flower boxes on the railing. Colorful fence around the playground, seating circles in the main hallway, etc. I don't know that from other Ahorn Hotels. Everything lovingly and attractively designed. The hotel stands out from the other Ahorn hotels. Surroundings are incredibly beautiful. Beautifully landscaped spa park, pretty town with many well-preserved old houses and villas. Marienglashöhle, NP Hainich with treetop path, Drachenschlucht etc., all very worthwhile. A great family vacation in Germany.

Were only for dinner. The buffet was more than meager for 28 euros. Used a lot of frozen products. I wouldn't do it again.

I was there as part of a seminar. All the employees were very friendly and accommodating. We particularly recommend the a la carte restaurant on the 12th floor, the view and ambience are great 👍

The food was delicious and the selection was sufficient! The room was nice and clean. It was a great weekend as a couple and I would go there again (but with children) in a heartbeat. The offer is great!

The area itself is very beautiful, mountains, lots of ways to spend your time. However, the condition of the hotel is no longer up to date. A strange smell in the hallway and room permeates the hotel, which makes it absolutely not nice. The breakfast was okay, but not great either. The hotel is very old and needs modernization. Unfortunately for me it's not worth checking in there again.

We stayed at the Berghotel Friedrichroda for the fourth time in the last 4 years. Our now 8-year-old son always gets a shine in his eyes when he knows we're going here again. The view and location from the hotel is perfect for us. Behind the hotel, some interesting forest paths lead, among others, to the town of Schnepfenthal, where you can whet your appetite for a meal on a 40-minute walk. We find the breakfast more than sufficient, and the children's buffet is also great. You can always find a place and the staff have always been polite and friendly. Indoor and outdoor swimming pool, games rooms with, among other things. Table tennis, air hockey and a foosball table further enhance the hotel. There is an indoor playground and there is also plenty to play outside for small and large children. Another highlight is the in-house cinema. The weight room is sufficiently sized and, as a highlight, offers a cable tower where full-body training is possible. Only the rowing machine could use some maintenance (worn out line) and the two wobbly stands for holding the barbell for the bench press should also be treated with caution in my opinion. The standard double rooms are sufficiently sized and offer enough space for two adults and one child. We love the hotel for its distinctive charm and are looking forward to hopefully more wonderful stays.

We were at the Ahornhotel for the first time. Overall we liked it. The great view and the swimming pool is really great. The breakfast was also really good, everything you would want as a normal guest. With around 450 rooms, it's obvious that it's louder there than in a small restaurant. What wasn't so nice was the long waiting time at the elevators and the fact that the display didn't work. This is how we got to know the stairs up to the 6th floor.😊 What I would also like to mention is the friendliness and helpfulness of all the employees, no matter what it was, we were always helped in a friendly manner. Thank you for a few nice days.

There are many suitable reviews here. Parking situation is bad, but understandable that guests are directed to the second parking space. Why does it cost €4? Cleanliness could be improved. Pistachio under the bed wasn't ours. Petting zoo was a joke. Elevator complete disaster, always waiting forever. Otherwise everything was good, food was good, leisure activities, staff, etc

Currently back - arrived on Friday, hungry, thirsty, pee - lots of children🙄. I was teached a lesson. Checking in was quick, we paid for everything straight away - then the departure was more relaxed. The rooms are functional and modernly furnished. A clothes horse is also available. (There's probably a rope in the bathroom to pull out, my husband discovered today - on the day of departure.) I was woken up by party guests (in front of the hotel) at 3:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, so I wished there was a security guard to keep the night's quiet... Saturday afternoon party - brass band in front of the hotel in the afternoon. We came from a strenuous hike and just wanted to relax before dinner. When the Steigerlied was played - we were reconciled 😉 For food: Breakfast - MEGA. The only point of criticism: adults are allowed to have enough fruit!!!, dinner - difficult to suit everyone's taste. But fish was always there👍 We enjoyed the swimming pool every day and even found times when it wasn't very busy. Entry into the swimming pool is easily possible via stairs👍 The staff is always friendly 😊

We travel very often, but we have never experienced this kind of child-friendliness. Great! Keep it up! Even in bad weather there is always something for the little ones! We would like to come again!

The curtains in the rooms have no darkening effect. The whole hotel urgently needs modernization. The employees do not respond to guests, but simply follow the processes. In some cases the GDR style comes through and you are treated very unpleasantly (reception). The lunch was like in a canteen and the restaurant has a nice view but the steak for over 40 euros is a disgrace. It was completely cooked, the service had no plan and the vegetables were different than ordered.

Hotel in a cozy GDR style, but already much renovated and modernized. We reserved a 2 bed room and had a very spacious (3 bed) room with lots of space. The bathroom with shower is quite small, but completely sufficient for us. Food was good, sufficient and something for everyone. Small buffet for dinner where you are not overwhelmed by the crowd. It was quiet, even though we had our room on the first floor of 10 floors. A well-maintained hotel that is constantly being renovated. Even outside. Beds were very comfortable and not sagging. Highly recommended for families with children. The swimming pool is sufficient. There is a lot on offer. Staff at all points were very friendly and accommodating and tried to solve problems. We felt good. It's pretty warm in all areas. It's a shame that you have to pay separately for parking each night.

Overall, our stay at the Berghotel this year was “just” okay. The staff (especially at the reception) should convey significantly more (hospitality) friendliness. The food offerings (breakfast and dinner) were better. Among other things, we missed the buffet for the little guests.

A classic for traveling with children and all. Lots to do for the kids, swimming pool with children's pool and spacious rooms. A larger bar area might be something to consider.

I recently spent a few days at the AHORN Berghotel Friedrichroda and was thrilled. The location in the middle of the Thuringian Forest is simply beautiful, especially the proximity to the Rennsteig hiking trail was a highlight for me as a hiking lover. The room was clean and cozy, with a wonderful view from the balcony. The breakfast buffet was very rich and there was even a corner with lactose and gluten-free dishes - great for people with intolerances. I was particularly impressed by the leisure options: a great outdoor swimming pool, mini golf and many other activities. The staff was always friendly and helpful. Overall, a really pleasant stay that I can only recommend. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Always worth a trip to the beautiful Thuringian Forest with friendly hosts in the Ahorn-Theam.

For my birthday 😊 🍀 I had a wonderful stay, the first time, at the Ahorn Berghotel. Great reception with Ahorn Berghotel sparkling wine, a great 2-course dinner and a beautiful view of Thuringia from the 10th floor. The hotel team, no matter what day, is always attentive, friendly, helpful and accommodating, whether at reception, at breakfast or in the individual areas. The bathroom in the Classic room was quite small, but sufficient. It doesn't get any better than this when it comes to size. The breakfast buffet is very varied. There is something for everyone. In any case, I will spend more vacation days here too

Nice hotel for the whole family!

Panorama Room: The bathroom was much too small, the door could only be opened halfway! Shower head holder loose, the water comes out at an irregular temperature. Very old. Great view though. Great food, nice, fast staff.

We have visited there several times, beautiful location right next to the forest. A really large indoor pool and outdoor pool in summer, outside mini golf course and soccer field. The facility itself was very clean and well maintained, staff were always helpful. It's just a shame that as a guest you have to pay for the parking space separately, the hotel isn't exactly a bargain and that should be included. Overall, as always, it was a lovely and relaxing holiday and we would be happy to come back.

The recession was edited again by me on May 24th: Unfortunately, it is getting old. It's neat and clean in the important places, but not everywhere. Carpeting the entire building is certainly not the best decision after all this time. The children's pool is overcrowded in the morning and smells intensely and unfortunately there is often dirt in it. In the evening the swimmers pool is full. The food is typical of the locality (spice). We only enjoyed it to a limited extent. The elevators are also a disaster. Please repair the light display. Give the opportunity to go up and down. The wardrobes smelled very strongly. In general, there is a “special” smell in the house due to carpets and the like. Dining area...so clean, oh well. Unfortunately, people just tackle everything and children rub the dishes and eat as if it were normal (idea here: place the dishes differently). Overall, hygienic, no. I think less would be more here. This canteen experience was not a vacation for us and overall not a relaxation. The curtains don't help. Way too bright. Completely robbed our kids of sleep. A welcome bottle of water was free. 12 floor view fantastic. Playground good, but hardly any shade. It's great that this is being changed. The location is great. Offer is also there.

We stayed with you for the second time, this time with the grandchildren, and we really enjoyed it. The rooms are tidy and clean, the food at the buffet is very rich and good, and above all I would like to emphasize the friendliness of the staff from reception to entertainment to room service. The many opportunities for the children - they particularly liked the large indoor pool - are particularly worth highlighting. We had great days over Pentecost!

It was already getting on in years, and the worst thing I found was the coffee for breakfast, simply terrible. I expected more for the money. Food in the buffet per person was 28€ without drinks, slightly excessive, sorry... we found the swimming pool positive. Service staff was friendly and nice. But honestly, I wouldn't book it again.

We stayed at the Ahorn Hotel in Friedrichrode for 2 nights. You had to take a card before driving into the hotel parking lot because this parking lot costs 9 euros per day. For us, a parking space is part of the hotel. The hotel has the character of a GDR building and is still very GDR-like within. We were welcomed very nicely at the reception. We hadn't booked dinner and then booked it separately. It cost 28 euros and was definitely not worth it. We were very disappointed about that. Some containers where the food is kept warm were no longer filled properly. We found this to be mass processing. We found the breakfast very good. It was always a gamble on the elevators, because the displays didn't show whether the elevator was going down or up, so you always had to wait a long time until an elevator stopped on the respective floor. We knew that it was a hotel where dogs were allowed, but you should pay a little attention to the fact that the dogs are wearing a muzzle or that they are kept on a very short leash. There are a lot of little children running around there now. What also really bothered us was that the dogs were allowed on the playground. The rooms and the indoor pool were fine. But there is no option for us to go there again.

We stayed at the hotel as a family for a long weekend. Friendly welcome at reception. The facility is getting old, the rooms are spacious, but not every corner is clean. Despite the window being completely open all day, there is extreme heat and stuffy air in the evening and at night, and it's only May. In addition, the rooms are extremely noisy. The buffet for breakfast and dinner is varied, but occasionally very questionable: two pasta dishes were offered, but no grated cheese - when we asked, the service staff rolled their eyes and made it clear to us that Parmesan would only be available again the next day is on the menu. This makes neither sense nor customer-oriented behavior. Unfortunately, in the children's playroom there was sometimes very bad air mixed with a strong smell of sweat; due to the lack of windows, it would at least be advisable to switch on the ventilation system here. The swimming pool is sufficient and there are plenty of bath toys for children. Unfortunately, you sometimes wait 10 minutes for the elevator, despite there being a total of 5 elevators. All in all, a solid hotel, but it needs some basic renovation.

A relaxing holiday as the hotel is very quiet. The evening buffet was very varied and delicious. The staff is very friendly and has a good overview. Small downer: when you go to the indoor pool, it smells very unpleasant. But the pool is great. There is 1 lane reserved for swimmers.

Unfortunately, the website and reality do not agree on all points. The hotel is old and you are greeted by a musty smell in the hallways. The room is small, the bed is sagging and the bathroom is a mini plastic cubicle that is absolutely no longer up to date (not like the pictures on the website!) There were no rental bikes in the hotel either, even though they were advertised as such. Parking is expensive and the sauna also has to be paid extra. No recommendation

My husband and I were there this weekend, the environment is unique, the cleanliness of the hotel was good, but what bothered me was the strange smell in the entire building as well as in the room. We ate in the hotel once, but very late because we We arrived late, unfortunately the buffet wasn't that tasty anymore, too bad for the money. Then I think it's a shame that if you come with a dog you have disadvantages when eating, he wasn't allowed in the dining room, in other hotels they have set up special areas for guests with dogs. Because we also paid a lot of money per night. But good. Nevertheless, it was a wonderful weekend. And we booked again.

A hotel that has been around for several years. You can see that in some corners. Such as the old bathroom with the high entry into the shower or the tiles in the swimming pool.

We were always very satisfied and felt very comfortable. But not since last year. Some of the food was cold and poorly seasoned. The meat dishes didn't look appetizing and some of them had ready-made sauces. Our bathroom was not cleaned properly e.g. Dust on the shelves and water stains were not removed. We actually wanted to vacation there again in June, but we will cancel.

A big hotel in the middle of nature. There's a swimming pool and lots of areas for kids to play. Hiking trails are right next to the hotel. Food was buffet style with lots of options. Also enough vegetarian options. Staff was friendly and rooms were clean.

Perfect for a short trip without children or family. I was always in Friedrichroda or Oberhof with my child or family. Good service in both hotels. In the summer with children, Friedrichroda is great because of the two swimming pools. During the autumn holidays we usually go to Oberhof because of the play arena. Breakfast is great.

We stopped in for a cup of coffee and a piece of cake. Both are recommended in any case. 👍

Went to the hotel as a family with a dog. There are many leisure activities. And there is no shortage of excursion destinations either. The food was delicious and there was something for everyone. All employees are very friendly. The rooms were clean. Unfortunately, when there is a storm, the wind whistles through the windows. Unfortunately, the bathroom is really very small... The games room could be designed a little more lovingly. Unfortunately, the lack of windows means it's a bit stuffy. The outdoor playground is large and has various play options. The swimming pool is clean and completely OK for splashing around and swimming. Special praise also goes to Andreas the lifeguard. He does his job great. And even takes the time to teach the kids something. Top. All in all a good hotel that you can visit again.

Nice family hotel, not absolutely state of the art, but still recommended.

We stayed in this hotel over the weekend. We were greeted very friendly by a young man at reception. As it turned out, he was only at the reception for the second day. We found it impossible for the ladies who also worked at the reception, who used a very bad tone and then made it clear to the young man in front of the guest that he was not allowed to charge us. Here again a big compliment to the young man. He did a great job. The hotel is clean, but very noisy. The beds are ok. We had booked half board. Breakfast and dinner were absolutely great. We didn't miss anything.

Overall it was three great days. Only the rooms are a bit noisy.

Really old, run-down, eastern building. Everything is old, really poorly maintained and renovated. You immediately notice the company philosophy: maximum profit with minimal effort. Electrics are surface-mounted in cable ducts that a child can open. Tiles in the bathroom are loose, there is no toilet brush. The food, well, you can eat it, but good is different. You get ripped off for parking, even though there is endless space. The fitness room is a disgrace, my basement is better equipped. What is not possible, however, is that a huge range of leisure activities is advertised without mentioning that it feels like you have to pay extra for everything. Which ultimately leads to total costs for which you could have booked a much better hotel with offers included - as a children's hotel it is clearly a cost trap.

I recovered well again with you

This was our second time in an Ahorn Hotel. The staff were very friendly and breakfast and dinner were of course very, very good. Lots of choice and also very tasty. Unfortunately, the stuffing of cuddly toys was canceled due to too few people (but this was also entered on the wrong day in the weekly plan). A pity. Pool was good and great (also for the children). I was pleasantly surprised by the room, but the bathroom was again very small. Still okay. We were lucky when we checked in, there was a very long queue at the reception for ten minutes with a long waiting time. Parking fees should be part of the price as no one parks down in the city and walks up. I see this as a small “cost trap”. But now a really big minus point for me. Unfortunately, I lost the bonus card with the stamps from Oberwiesenthal and took the invoice and the children's card with me, but it is not allowed to be re-stamped. In a family-friendly chain of this size in Germany, it should be possible to record this digitally and get the 11th night free after 10 nights. This is not pointed out either. Since we would have already stayed 7 nights with this vacation (but didn't get the first three nights added), we decided against asking again and starting "anew". Prices for the drinks in the evening are also a bit high, but just hotel prices... Nevertheless, it was a beautiful environment and we can recommend the Ahorn Hotels.

We stayed at the Ahorn Berghotel Friedrichroda with our two children over Easter and thought it was great. The location in the Thuringian Forest is wonderful and invites you to take long walks. The rooms are bright, modernly furnished and offer a great view of the surrounding area. The Thuringian Forest Railway is easily accessible and offers the possibility of excursions even without a car. The hotel itself has, among other things, a large swimming pool, a sauna and a children's indoor playground. But also a large outdoor playground. In general, the hotel is very child-friendly and offers various activities for them, so that parents can also relax a bit. Dogs are also welcome and there are quite a few there. The food is good for the number of guests in the house and offers a decent selection. Both at dinner and at breakfast. The steak restaurant on the 12th floor is also a quieter alternative. However, you should reserve a table. We were particularly impressed by the very friendly staff. Any concerns were taken care of immediately. Conclusion: A nice, but quite large family hotel... It can get crowded and especially loud, especially on public holidays or during the holidays. Maybe not the best address for a romantic weekend for two. But perfect for families with children who don't want to worry about every quickser! And that's exactly what I think the hotel wants to be. We will be happy to come back and can fully recommend it for families with kids.

We came on Good Friday and it was pure chaos, then in the evening the food was already cold. The next day our room cards stopped working. Breakfast was good. Beautiful area and the excursions were also nice.

Unfortunately a very outdated hotel with good heels. Unfortunately, the pictures on the homepage don't really correspond to the truth. The radiators in the playroom are covered with mats, some of which were broken. The ceiling is only suspended with a net and unfortunately there is no window or ventilation in the playroom. It's dark and rather uncomfortable. The homepage states that you should contact the staff if you have any questions regarding the advertised allergens. Unfortunately, that wasn't possible because the staff didn't understand us and when we asked if someone else could help, they didn't understand us. There was therefore not a large selection for allergy sufferers. The children's buffet is presented on the homepage as a super creative and child-friendly buffet. Unfortunately, that wasn't even close to being the case. The fish fingers weren't crispy and the fruit and vegetables were rather carelessly lying on the tray. The carrots, for example, were already dry. Since we were a slightly larger group and needed a table for 13 people, the staff told us how inconvenient that would be and that we now had enough people and hopefully no more would come. Mind you, we all paid for our stay. As described, the indoor pool is rather boring for children. A little equipment to swap or have fun might be an idea here. Since we brought everything with us, it was still very nice. However, after my son was injured while swimming, we were greeted by the swimming supervisor with the words: "Well, I always say, there's no running here!" Willingness to help is zero. Although my husband mentioned that my son got his arm hit by another child's face while diving. Rooms were very nicely furnished. Bathrooms can be a little cleaner here and there, but otherwise the room was very nice and spacious. The cleaning staff was also very nice.

The rooms are clean, small but good, you just sleep there... The food is great. If you don't get enough, it's your own fault... just perfect for the children, yes it can happen that a pedal tractor comes towards you in the lobby is coming😂😂😂 It's a children's hotel... ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A lot is done for the children - the pool for non-swimmers, the playrooms or the fun zone, craft lessons, etc... Yes, families get their money's worth here... But smokers have a hard time with two smoking zones in front and behind the hotel ..😂

Nice location, but already getting old, service sometimes lackluster (reception and catering), no childcare available (not even specially designated activities are supervised, no one showed up even though we were registered), the food on offer is not very appealing and The taste was mixed. The food for the children from the special children's buffet was largely out of the question. Dry pancakes or rice pudding as the only warm component for dinner is not an option. However, the room service was nice and attentive. Plus point: coffee machine in the room. The Azado Panorama Restaurant has a great view. In addition, the food and service are definitely better than in the buffet restaurant, although you have to pay separately.

I'm visiting the Ahorn Hotel in Friedrichroda with my 10-year-old son for the third time! It is family & child friendly! Hotel & rooms are getting old, but very clean! Service & staff very nice. I would like to highlight the lifeguard Mr. Guest, he does an excellent job and is super nice! Go on like that!

Always a very nice holiday. Super friendly staff, especially Mr. A. Guest, from whom our child was able to receive the seahorse badge, is very praiseworthy. Rooms, entertainment and food were again unbeatable.

An impressive hotel that is suitable for short trips with children.

A great hotel, super friendly staff, a few small flaws but you have that everywhere, but there should be more vegan selection at the buffet, not just tomatoes and cucumbers

The hotel is a bit winding. But otherwise okay. Breakfast great.

The check-in process is not well thought out. You can check in in advance to get your room card, but you still have to check in again later at the reception. The waiting times there are often quite long, the employees are not very friendly and none of the data entered via the online check-in has ended up in the real systems. It's completely useless to do the work beforehand. The rooms are very old, the conditions in the bathroom are accordingly. The toilet doesn't flush properly, you have to repeat it quite often. There's a really unpleasant smell of urine in the bathroom, but I can't figure out where it's coming from or how it goes away. The food is very one-sided: the breakfast doesn't have much variety, an egg station is advertised, and if you're lucky you can get a fried egg from an incredibly unfriendly employee. However, no fresh scrambled eggs, omelets or anything similar. The scrambled eggs are such a terrible ready-made mix. There is nothing else surprising about the breakfast either. The juice station is usually empty by 7:30 a.m., is not refilled even when asked, and there are puddles of juice around it in the morning that are not removed by the end of breakfast. Dinner is served in a buffet, almost exclusively prepared products, which you can taste. Under no circumstances should you book the buffet when booking, you can no longer deduct it if you would rather eat elsewhere. Even for your own asado restaurant you cannot have the buffet booked in advance counted towards it. The hotel obviously thrives on large groups, and large areas are reserved for them throughout the entire breakfast/dinner period, even if they have a very early breakfast or a very late dinner. Individual travelers have to make sure that they get a place. Evening time is also limited for individual travelers. When you reach the magical table change time, the drinks bill is handed over in the middle of the meal, regardless of whether you had to queue forever or wait for refills. By the way, even the groups said “it’s not nice here” and there were often discussions about bad food with the employees. I have to say that in principle, I don't think it's a good thing, there are superiors for that, but I've experienced myself that they don't take you seriously. Overall, I can't understand the many good reviews and recommend everyone to use another hotel

Unfortunately not recommended for those traveling by train with luggage. A steep climb of around 800m long, and unfortunately there is no shuttle available.

Been here for 5 days. It was nice.

Probably one of the old FDGB holiday homes that were only poorly converted into a hotel. With a little more care you could keep it clean and create a neat impression. So everything is very simple and improvised. Grotesquely narrow doors and simple bathroom. Beds ok. Breakfast room huge with long ways to spill coffee. But very nice old people there. Swimming pool is large but in need of renovation.

The location of the hotel is ideal, beautifully located in the Thuringian Forest, at the top with a wonderful view and fresh air. There is a secure parking lot in front of the building, large coaches can drive up and park here. The building itself is old, there are elevators and the rooms can also be reached via the stairwell. The stairwell, which is probably used by fewer visitors, has not been renovated and is still as it used to be. I can't comment on the service and the rooms as I used them during my visit. There will probably also be an indoor swimming pool.

Very clean rooms. The staff is very nice and fulfills all wishes. Very well located in the Thuringian Forest. There are enough sights nearby.

Good hotel but a bit too big. Zimmer was in House V and had to run a marathon first. Friendly staff

A great thing for families with children and grandchildren. Lots of leisure activities and opportunities. Price/performance is right 👍 I usually visit one of these maple chains 2-3 times a year.

Shower and toilet very, very small. Bed great. Food: it's a matter of taste and it wasn't my taste at all.

The place is very nice and cozy. I was very disappointed at Azado because as a steakhouse there was only one dish and it was served very carelessly placed on fries. My wife ordered a farmer's breakfast which had no taste and the potatoes were completely mush inside and she didn't even eat half of it. We've been coming to you for ten years now but this will be the last time at Azado.

Very family friendly hotel. Staff is very friendly. You have a beautiful view and many leisure options. Unfortunately a bit too few staff, especially when it comes to food. Otherwise highly recommended.

3 stars without any ifs and buts... The classification as a 3-star superior hotel is accurate. I don't understand how you can give this 5 stars. Room: I stayed here for a week in a comfort double room. The size is sufficient for a family with a child (room with an extra bed). The beds were ok, unfortunately the extra bed creaked. Cast iron radiators are installed. Unfortunately, they take a while to release heat. The room was carpeted and therefore pleasantly quiet. Surrounding noises could only be heard muffled. The biggest disappointment was the bathroom, which was extremely small. Only one person can be in the bathroom at a time... The WiFi was stable, the TV was modern and surprisingly large. Food: My package included half board, which was served in the form of a buffet. The food tended to be rather boring. Don't expect any culinary delights here. We can only hope that the new chef will further optimize the offering. The staff was highly motivated and really fast. To provide support, gastro robots are used here to autonomously drive the dishes into the kitchen. The dining room is huge, but thanks to the clever arrangement of room dividers and soundproofing elements on the ceiling, there is no excessive noise. Conclusion: The hotel offers the main target group (couples with children) a good opportunity to spend a relaxing holiday. The very extensive leisure activities on offer further enhance the hotel. However, you have to be tolerant and make compromises in some areas.

We spent a lovely weekend here to switch off from everyday life. We really liked how open it was and where we could explore the area and do a lot of hiking. The free use of the pool was one of the highlights of the hotel. You could swim lengths and relax on the loungers - the temperature of the water was pleasant. If you wanted you could have gone to the cinema, all included in the price. We also found the offer for children quite good. We had booked half board and therefore had the pleasure of taking part in the evening buffet. However, there is a small negative point that we didn't like so much: it was the same on Saturday and Sunday and the selection was very sporadic. What I missed was that the selection of sausage was very small. I would have expected more, but that's it My opinion is also that there are prescribed meal times that you have to stick to, but given the number of guests, that's quite understandable. Unfortunately we were not able to visit the restaurant on the 12th floor because it closes on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. and there was no possibility of eating dinner there, which is definitely too early. The evening program, however, was again great and it was all included in the price. The rooms were very simply furnished, the bathroom was very small and the ventilation was not working and it was very difficult for slightly taller guests to move around freely. The corridor to the room was long, unfortunately we were only able to get one on the lower floor. Unfortunately, the view was only of the parking lot on the upper floors. I imagine the view over the Thuringian Forest would be nice, maybe next time. In the end, we liked the stay open despite the criticism mentioned and we will definitely stop by again.
