We spontaneously decided to eat at Platzhirsch on Sunday evening and we really enjoyed it. We sat outside and admired the beautiful city. The location is lovely, right by the Krämerbrücke (Merchants' Bridge). There were patio heaters in the outdoor seating area. The atmosphere was very pleasant and we immediately felt comfortable. The service was particularly commendable. We've never received our food so quickly. Any questions were answered very professionally and courteously. It was exceptional. The Parmesan chicken with mashed potatoes and vegetables was delicious; the chicken was very tender, and the vegetables and mash were also flawless. The venison burger was good; the meat was tasty, and the salad, both on the burger and as a side dish, was excellent. The potato chips were also decent. Subjectively, one could criticize the sauces. Personally, I found the sauce on the burger to be perfectly acceptable, but compared to restaurants specializing in burgers, there's room for improvement. Mayonnaise and ketchup were served as dips with the potato chips. Both were of excellent quality, but unfortunately, they weren't served separately. This is my only real criticism; they should have been served separately. In conclusion: I highly recommend this restaurant, and although there were a few minor issues with the burger, both dishes were delicious and of high quality, and our overall experience was very positive. We therefore recommend this restaurant.

We spent five days in this beautiful city and found ourselves at Platzhirsch several times. Both the food and the service were always excellent. We even sat outside despite it being November.

Wow 🤩 We were guests at Platzhirsch yesterday and received a super warm welcome. The patio heater was immediately fired up, so we were able to spend this wonderfully mild evening outside. We meet there almost every week when the weather is nice and feel very welcome. And anyone who doesn't have time and thinks they should be able to get a table immediately in Erfurt's old town is simply out of luck.

Surprisingly good. We happened upon it on a Sunday evening and stopped in. The cafe is rather small inside, almost intimate. The service is attentive. My attempt to surprise us with an appetizer for two, instead of simply choosing something from the menu, was met with a very good selection of small, delicate dishes like honey-cured salmon, shrimp with pineapple, bruschetta, etc., all beautifully served on a large oval plate. And I have to say, even with the main courses, you could tell the chef knows his craft. My brother had Parmesan chicken, and I had a delicate curry with chunks of chicken breast. Both were really good, and combined with the excellent Lugano, they were the best choice of the evening. Thanks again.

The staff is exceptionally friendly – ​​from the telephone reservation to the on-site experience. You feel like you're in good hands. The ambiance is very cozy, and the restaurant's location is great near the Merchants' Bridge. Thank you for the lovely stay!

Looking for a good lunch, we let the menu guide us and visited the restaurant. Drinks were brought quickly by friendly staff. The food was quite good, but the MUTZBRATEN (roasted pork) is the highlight. Don't call it a Mutzbraten if the chef has no idea what it's about. The meat is completely wrong, and it's just boiled and rolled in marjoram. Absolutely not recommended.

As part of our seminar group meeting, we had pre-booked for 13 people, but ten of us arrived and were warmly welcomed. There's room in the smallest hut, if you want it – and the team at Platzhirsch wants to satisfy all of their guests. They've found it here – the food is delicious, and the service is very friendly, attentive, and thoughtful. We highly recommend a visit.

The vegetarian burger was okay. Too expensive for what it was. The appetizer (shrimp) was delicious. The interior is very cramped.

Good portion size for the price.

Last Friday we visited "Platzhirsch" for the first time and loved it. EVERYTHING is just right here. The second Essival took place in fantastic weather. Relaxed music, great service from Gabi, delicious dishes, and great cocktails. The time flew by, and we never had to wait for service and received excellent advice. Kudos to the entire team. You are GREAT.

My favorite restaurant—the name says it all. I've been going back ever since it opened, and I'm always impressed. The entire team is amazing. Everything is just right here: the ambiance, the service, and the menu. The first thing I look at is the daily special; you're surprised by old classics, reinterpreted and prepared incredibly deliciously. The ingredients are all fresh and local. Food was prepared with care, the atmosphere in the plaza was pleasant, and the staff was friendly and attentive. We had the gulasch and the wild burger - I would recommend both!

Great view of a lively square. I had a Mutzbraten (roasted pork). The piece of meat was good, but not a Mutzbraten. This specialty from eastern Thuringia is prepared with lots of marjoram on a rotisserie over birch wood and tastes completely different. So either call the dish something else or drive the 120 km to Altenburg and eat the original ;). The service was very friendly, but please put out your cigarettes at your table when you're working—it fills the guests with smoke!

Beautiful place, very friendly staff. We ate here twice. The salad was very good, with a great variety of flavors, including nuts, pineapple, and tossed greens. The vegetarian burger with feta cheese was also very good.

Thank you for that. We had the house lemonade, which was very fruity and perfect for the warm weather. The food was good and arrived at our table in an excellent time. We had a reservation and were very impressed by the service and the extremely friendly staff. The food was excellent. Despite the wait for our food, we were well looked after, including a small snack from the kitchen to pass the time. We would definitely come back.

We were just passing through, returning to the "north"... and unfortunately only enjoyed small bites (terrific "fries" - homemade potato chips including a fabulous leaf salad); but the service deserves special mention: A staff with heart and an authentic and almost loving eye for the guest – exemplary and perfect for the moment!! Auf Grund der Bewertung "Bestes Restaurant 24/25" in Erfurt habe ich heute den "Platzhirsch" besucht. Ich wählte den Wildschweinbraten und das Schwarzwälder Kirsch Dessert aus. Das Gericht war insgesamt nicht gut abgewürzt, der Rahmblumenkohl schmeckte fad, es fehlte definitiv Salz und Muskat, die Sosse mußte ich ebenso nachwürzen. Der Nachtisch war nicht schön angerichtet, auf einem flachen Teller lagen fünf Häufchen (keine Nocken abgesteckt oder mit dem Spritzbeutel aufdressiert) in der Mitte zwei Eßlöffel Kirschkompott, mit meiner Meinung nach zu viel Alkohol. Schade, da hatte ich mehr erwartet!

I asked for the sandwich without onions because I'm allergic, and I made this clear when ordering. There was no language-related comprehension problem, but the onions were still there. It was simply unacceptable; it's not a matter of taste...

We had dinner with friends. Our last-minute order was perfectly organized, and the staff was very friendly. The outdoor seating is very pleasant in the evening sun, with all the advantages and disadvantages of a restaurant right on a bustling market square. The food is good to very good, and the drinks selection is extensive. The only point deducted was the long wait for the food, with guests at tables for two who had arrived later paying while we were still waiting for our food. The staff apologized for this and pointed out the large crowd. We understood this.

Classic German cuisine with a modern twist. There's something for everyone, whether meat lover or vegetarian. Beautiful ambiance and very friendly service. Highly recommended.

We went to the "Platzhirsch" for dinner again. Nothing has changed! Again, a huge compliment to the kitchen; the chef here isn't called "Bling-Bling." The menu offers classic cuisine as well as more unusual dishes. The meat is tender as butter and everything is deliciously seasoned. The service is very friendly and attentive. And there's always something going on in the square. Definitely a recommendation.

Since our visit to Platzhirsch, I've also discovered Mutzbraten! What is that? Go there and order it yourself! 😄 The restaurant is located right on Wenigeplatz, one of Erfurt's central squares and practically at the end (or beginning, depending on which side you're coming from) of the Krämerbrücke bridge. The menu is varied and reasonably priced, the food itself was delicious, and the service was attentive and friendly. Unfortunately, there are also some people there who think they can actually make their time at the restaurant's outdoor dining area (incidentally, the last place the sun sets on the square) even more attractive by driving past in lowered cars with drilled exhausts—but stupidity isn't a matter of location.

Excellent ambiance, good, high-quality food, and delicious homemade pasta. The salad, however, could use a bit of an upgrade.

Very friendly and attentive staff. As the name suggests, it's very nice and centrally located with both indoor and outdoor seating. They even bring you blankets upon request. The freshly fried salmon with beetroot puree and the Thuringian Mutzbraten were something special and very tasty.

A great restaurant with delicious food at reasonable prices, located right next to the Krämerbrücke bridge. When the weather's nice, you can relax outside under the linden trees with a view of the Wenigemarkt market. The homemade lemonades taste wonderfully fruity and fresh and are also highly recommended. Wir haben hier eine Pause vom sightseeing gemacht und schön draußen am Wenigemarkt in der Maisonne gesessen. Das Essen war qualitativ und geschmacklich wirklich gut und hatte einige außergewöhnliche leckere Extras. Die Bedienung war nett und aufmerksam. Ein kleiner Fehler des Service wurde sofort und professionell korrigiert und als Entschuldigung gab es dann auch noch einen Espresso aufs Haus. Alles fein! Gern wieder.

Great menu, so it was difficult to choose. The food was a dream! Both visually and tastefully. I've rarely eaten so well! 😋 Unfortunately, I missed a beer from Thuringia, but I can live with that. Unfortunately only two stars, the kitchen was responsible for that. I relied on the positive reviews on Google, but had a different experience. If you want to eat dumplings with goulash then ignore my review, I can't say anything about it. First of all, about the menu: It's May and the nice little menu still has the winter salad on it. This wouldn't be a big deal, but it lacks any trace of seasonality (May and no asparagus?). That was the first indication of a kitchen that makes things very easy. I chose the salmon fillet with risotto and braised cucumber vegetables and was excited about the combination of these components. I was served a beautifully presented canteen meal. It sounds harsh, but unfortunately it was. The “spinach risotto” was neither made from a proper grain of risotto rice (Arborio, Vialone, Carnaroli…), nor were there any traces of spinach or onions. The consistency revealed that it wasn't just a fresh risotto being cooked here, but that there were two large pots. A red one ("tomato risotto") and a green one ("spinach risotto"). I have to say that I am a passionate cook myself and have spent some time in Italy, but I have never encountered a risotto like this in a restaurant. The taste composition of the three different components (salmon, braised cucumbers, risotto) was also like being thrown together in a canteen. The portion was just okay, which speaks for real savings in terms of quality. In summary: The ambience outside is so nice that you get enough walk-in customers so that you really don't have to make any effort in the kitchen.

I had the goulash. The dumplings, like rubber, the meat consisted of 70% fat. I didn't find it that tasty. The service is very friendly. However, the fact that there is only one toilet is also less nice.

A very nicely located restaurant. The two ladies from the service are very attentive, friendly and accommodating. The portions of the food are great, it tastes very tasty and is beautifully prepared. A visit is definitely worth it.

Really a very successful restaurant with very good food.

Drinks and friendliness of the waitress were good, Kaiserschmarrn was ok. The ambience at the fish market is always good. What doesn't work is that 3 different cards didn't work, although I tried again afterwards and they worked perfectly. It's probably the case that you don't want to pay the fees for card payments, but you don't say so openly and try to blame the non-working cards, i.e. the customer.

Tolle Essensauswahl, sehr freundlicher Service. Man kann draußen am schönen Wenigemarkt sitzen, oder drin - dort ist es eher klein und eng. Das Essen (Hauptgerichte) ist qualitativ und geschmacklich einfach großartig! Leider war der Kaiserschmarrn nicht gut (kleine Portion, fast ungesüßt und zu fest) Dennoch gebe ich 5 Punkte, weil die Hauptgerichte wirklich sehr sehr lecker sind.

I was here for a birthday party with my family. My food tasted good. Some others' dishes, however, really left a lot to be desired. Some of the food is not prepared properly and/or there is far too little. The meat is cooked noticeably too hard and you only get a piece the size of two fingers. The dumplings are just slightly larger than table tennis balls. We were told it would be passed on. The service, on the other hand, is nice and understanding. For those who didn't have enough there was an extra portion. The price of the extra portion was waived and two free coffees were included. The restaurant is very cramped and crowded. Hardly any space to eat. But it has to be said that there were seven of us there. You can only really sit outside in summer.

So, first of all. The store is actually designed for summer operations. In winter it gets a bit cozy in the restaurant, which is why it only gets 2 stars for the ambience. (Sat behind the door, but better than not at all) We were in Erfurt last week and I looked for some restaurants on TripAdvisor and came across the top dog there. Standard German is spoken here, which definitely made it easier for me as a tourist. The service was very competent and I had a pleasant, open but professional manner. The chef also enjoys praise. Just like every cook (praise the hands that prepare your food more(!)) Now for the most important part - the food. I took the offer on the board because, as I know it, it's a changing program and you can usually try out something really good and new there. I had the fish, my friend had the beer goulash. Both were very tasty and I was more than surprised at the price of the food. In my hometown you would pay twice as much for such quality. What I also thought was great was the atmosphere later after most of the guests had left, we were able to chat with the people there and find out more about the restaurant. So. An absolute recommendation if you are in Erfurt. Next year we will come again. We are looking forward to seeing you.
