The excellent reviews can be fully endorsed. You are welcomed into a pleasantly modern ambiance, the service is friendly and prompt, and the value for money is good. The most important thing, of course, is the food, and there's nothing to criticize here. Whether it was the liver Berliner style or the schnitzel Wiener style with potato salad, both dishes were perfectly prepared and of very good quality. A visit to this restaurant is highly recommended.

Very reasonable price, taste, and the server's service were very impressive... The orange butter that came with the appetizer bread was hard, but the flavor was crazy! The main dish was pork shoulder steak with cheese on it, which was a local dish, and baked in the oven, and it was delicious! It's not salty, it's just right!! I had a hard time because the damn DB was so chaotic today, but I'm happy!! P.s) The salad sauce was crazy. It's like berries, but I almost fainted

While looking for a restaurant for lunch on Whit Monday, we landed on Restaurant Margarethe because of the great reviews. We were definitely not disappointed. Delicious food, friendly service, and a chic atmosphere. Highly recommended.

If you want to enjoy a delicious meal in a chic setting, this is the place for you. We visited for the first time today and were more than pleasantly surprised. The ambiance and decor are elegant, tasteful, and very inviting; the colors are just my thing. The menu isn't overly elaborate, but still very varied. There were four of us, two of us are pescatarians (vegetarians who eat fish), and there were more than just two dishes for us to choose from. There was also a special "asparagus" menu according to the season. A delicious "greeting from the kitchen" was also served beforehand. I had an asparagus dish with Amarena cherry ravioli (very delicious) and shrimp, my husband chose three different dumplings with mushrooms, and the others chose beef roulade. Everyone enjoyed it very much. Of course, dessert was a must. The staff was extremely friendly. A truly successful restaurant visit. We will definitely be back. From the outside, it looks rather inconspicuous...a few signs would be nice to help find the entrance.

We've been to the asparagus restaurant three times, because the food was equally good both times. However, the last time, it seems a different chef was working. This time, the schnitzel was deep-fried, very thin, and quite black, which was noticeable even from a distance when it was brought to the table. It was a shame that it wasn't as good this time! The service is good, but you always have to go to the counter to pay. That could definitely be changed.

The entrance is a bit hidden, but once you arrive at the restaurant, you feel very comfortable: friendly, attentive, unobtrusive service, delicious food, and a pleasantly relaxed atmosphere. Reservations are a good idea; everything was fully booked on Friday evening, but we were flexible and enjoyed it even more on Saturday.

We were in a group of 12 at the restaurant. Everyone enjoyed the food excellently, and the service was very friendly and attentive. We felt very comfortable. The restaurant is a real asset to the culinary scene in Gotha.

regionale Küche, toller Service, schlne Einrichtung, aufmerksamer Service und das Essen schmeckt herrlich( nur etwas sehr Öllastig- Butter wäre besser gewesen, das Öl liegt schwer im Magen, aber das Steak war perfekt medium und Preis passt), allein befremdlich ist die geöffnete Tür zum Hausflur, da sich das Restaurant in einem Altenheim befindet und damit die Atmosphäre leidet, aber im Ergbnis sehr zu empfehlen

Went for dinner today as a group of 6 after prior reservation. We come from Leipzig and are spending the weekend in Gotha. Beautiful ambience, first-class service, super nice staff and world-class food. Just the right portions and great value for money. If we come to Gotha again, we will definitely come back! We were at the Margarethe Restaurant Essen today for our 38th wedding anniversary. The table reservation was great. Everything happened over the internet. When we arrived there, we received a very friendly welcome. The table was very festively set. The food was excellent, everything was freshly prepared and the staff was very accommodating. Traditionelle Küche auf hohem Niveau. Sehr empfehlenswert Ochsenbäckchen mit Ackergemüse und Rinderoularde (schmeckte wie bei Muttern!) mit Rotkohl, beides mit Klößen und reichlich Soße. Besser geht es nicht.

Friendly welcome and service in the restaurant. The ambience is modern and German cuisine is served. The menu is manageable, but offers something for every taste and diet. The food was very, very tasty. There was a greeting from the kitchen with fresh baguette and a homemade butter variation. That evening we ate the main course and dessert. The quality of the ingredients was top. You can taste the fresh cuisine. The drinks menu also offers something for everyone - I personally found the white wine very good. We can really recommend the Margarethe restaurant. Price-performance ratio is absolutely right here. We'd love to come back.

Vielen Dank für den sehr aufmerksamen und freundlichen Service. Die Einrichtung ist gemütlich. Das Angebot an Speisen und Getränken gefiel uns. Das Essen war lecker, die Speisekarte nicht allzu groß, muss es aber auch nicht sein! Der Koch ist zum Feierabend nochmal zu den anwesenden Gästen und hat sich erkundigt wie das Essen geschmeckt hat, super fanden wir das. Ich hätte mich gefreut wenn er zum Rundgang dann seine befleckte Arbeitsjacke kurz in eine saubere Jacke getauscht hätte, ist aber nur ein Hinweis. (natürlich weiß ich dass seine Arbeit auch Spuren hinterlässt). Wir haben zwar mehr als eine Stunde auf das Essen gewartet, was wir aber durchaus tolerieren können, das Haus war voll, es gab einen leckeren "Gruß aus der Küche" und wer die personelle Situation NOCH nicht verstanden hat, sollte zu Hause essen. Wir jedenfalls sind dankbar dass es noch Menschen gibt, die für UNS am WE, am Abend und an Feiertage arbeiten, um uns einene angenehme Zeit zu ermöglichen. Alles in Allem, das Haus ist bedingungslos zu empfehlen! Lieb Grüße und bis bald mal wieder.

Man musste zu lange warten die Getränke hat man erst nach 1 Stunde gekriegt sie haben nicht mal eine Möglichkeit Kinder zu wickeln es ist überteuert und man kriegt ganz wenig für die hohen Preise. Da gehe ich lieber Döner essen!

A culinary enrichment for Gotha! We went to dinner at Margarethe Schönes Leben on Friday evening, December 20th, 2024. The ambience is classically modern and very stylishly furnished. The food The food was excellent and met our expectations, was very attractively prepared and the taste was convincing. Furthermore, praise for the convincing service, which enriched our great evening in an appealing ambience. Upon request, Neudietendorfer Spätlese was even served even though it wasn't on the menu. This was the first, but definitely not the last visit. Many thanks again to the entire team.

We had dinner at Margarethe on November 30th, 2024. We were curious because the restaurant took part in the television series “My Local, Your Local”. It completely exceeded our expectations! A very nice, pleasant and quiet atmosphere with extremely friendly staff. The food (we also tried 3 courses) was excellent, very nicely prepared and tasted very good. We can highly recommend it! Thanks for the lovely evening!

She is very attentive and also offered me sauce with the dumplings, even though this was not included in the price. So top service and top food!

Full 5 stars for a really great restaurant. We went there spontaneously for lunch on the weekend. The service was extremely friendly. We ordered 2 x fish and the goose leg from the daily menu. I have rarely eaten such a delicious leg of goose. The fish was also excellent. Everything is fresh and visually appealing. Just great. The prices are absolutely justified for the level. We'll definitely be back!

The food and service were really on point. After a bit of confusion as to how to actually get in (this is better with the directions) we found ourselves in a really nice restaurant, modern but not intrusive. We were given very nice, very nice places and we were also told where the stroller could stand. But that wasn't the problem, the space between the tables is generous, you don't sit on the lap of the person sitting next to you. By the way, it's different than with the person sitting next to you! I don't fully understand why, with a fairly expensive furniture design, both chairs don't fit under the table and so one has to sit quite far away. But the restaurant can't help it. A beautiful and completely sufficient menu, expanded to include a page with seasonal specialties, a well-stocked wine list, and a good mix of fish, meat and vegetarian were convincing. The quality of the 3 meals was very good. Special praise for the game goulash, a tiny criticism of the dumplings. Very tasty but too firm for Thuringians. But especially in better restaurants, soggy dumplings are often viewed as unsubtle, even if it would be more correct. What was particularly highlighted was the very good service across the board. Courteous but not stiff, it was particularly fun. Conclusion: We look forward to our next visit!

Today we went to a birthday party in the beautiful Margarethe restaurant in Gotha. Everything was perfect all around: from the really delicious, freshly prepared food (with a great selection and also many vegetarian options) to the exceptionally beautiful ambience and the outstanding service. The latter deserves an extra sentence here, because the friendliness with which our birthday dinner was accompanied was truly extraordinary! The price-performance ratio is right here! We'd love to come back!

A beautiful à la carte restaurant, with very good, high quality food. The menu is clear and changes according to seasonal offerings. The restaurant therefore guarantees good quality and a reason to come back. The waitresses are very competent and friendly. The prices are very reasonable and fair. The combination of a senior residence and an elegant restaurant is unusual. The ladies serving us were charmingly attentive and active. The restaurant is stylishly decorated. We found the bright light from the stairwell, which shone through the large double doors, a bit disturbing. The last whistle was missing during dinner. Unfortunately, the sauce for the cheeks and roulade was not the result of long braising. Still, it was a nice meal.

My husband and I can only say positive things about this restaurant. We were in town for two days for a concert. I really wanted to eat Thuringian dumplings and we didn't have many options. This restaurant no longer had a la carte from 6 p.m. due to a barbecue evening. We still got our food and it tasted fantastic! Clear recommendation!

We were there for the first time today. The restaurant is very tastefully and comfortably furnished. Everything is clean and tidy. The food was great. I can highly recommend the wild herb salad with nuts and quinoa. In principle, everyone can find something on the map. Just great. The service was courteous, friendly and quick. There is a parking garage nearby, from which you can reach the restaurant in about 2 minutes on foot.

After visiting the castle, take a walk into the old town to enjoy very good German cuisine in this restaurant. We had ox cheeks (very tender with delicious jus) with dumplings and vegetables as well as three kinds of homemade dumplings (tomato, cheese, spinach) with a side salad. But then came the icing on the cake: the homemade ice cream (see picture): chocolate orange, vanilla tonka bean, savory pumpkin ice cream, cherry chili. We had the feeling that we were sitting in a gourmet restaurant. This was due to the many fresh ingredients and flavors, but also to the very nice service. By the way: we also really liked the simple and elegant restaurant interior. We can highly recommend the restaurant and would be happy to come back!!

Very friendly service staff. The food was very good, the taste and quantity were tip top. The restaurant was very well maintained, clean and modernly furnished. Overall really nice and recommended. It was also very well attended. The reservation via Google also worked. What could be improved is appropriate music for the food and the ambience (no radio if possible). The view from the restaurant, through the double doors (directly onto the elevator where people are constantly getting in and out with boxes and cleaning buckets) could be improved by closing the door or placing a large screen in front of it so that the restaurant's guests do not have to walk into the brightly lit hallway have to look. You could then enter the restaurant past the screen on the right and left. I also didn't think the uniform of the friendly waitress was appropriate for the restaurant, so a chic black blazer, etc. could be used. Create a remedy. This med. In my opinion, the top didn't fit into the nice restaurant. I liked the fact that the chefs served in their chef uniforms.
