Unfortunately we were very disappointed. My husband wanted to reserve a table as soon as he booked his room. He received no response to this email. When we asked by phone on the day of arrival, we were told that the restaurant was closed. The room was getting old. Basically not a problem, but when we entered the room we immediately noticed a bad smell. After we ventilated and let the water run, it worked. There was mold in the shower and some of the tiles were dirty and chipped. The bed covers, like the sheets, were torn. Emergency vehicles kept driving during the night, so ventilation was out of the question. The restaurant on the ground floor was in better shape and also inviting. The breakfast was OK. Eggs were freshly prepared upon request. I think you have to differentiate between a hotel and a restaurant.

Amazing, authentic Mexican (NOT TEX MEX) is a surprising beautiful location! As an expat Southern Californian who loves Mexican Cooking, finding great Mexican food in the UK and Europe is really difficult. Thankfully there's Don Gallo Comida Mexicana and it's a whole lot closer to the UK than Mexico. Located in the beautiful town of Rotenburg O.D.T off the revered Romantic Road in Germany, this delightful restaurant delivers fabulous, authentic Mexican cuisine served by the nicest of hosts one can meet. A great find! A delicious dinner with a wonderful selection of Tequila and Mezcal as well. Highly recommend taking a trip to Germany just to eat here!

A very beautiful place inside the castle..

A very good restaurant and delicious food.

Went here for dinner with a group of four and had a fantastic experience. The waitress was extremely accommodating and answered all of our questions. The food was of a very high quality and delicious. We got the Argentinian marinated steak, the Wiener schnitzel, and the roasted pork shoulder and all were great. The atmosphere was very comfortable, nice music at a good volume, traditional cozy decorations, and nice temperature. We can highly recommend!

We tried to eat in the restaurant and the persons were so rude and sarcastic, they were doing the cleaning so I kindly asked at what time will open and she answered very rude and sarcastic “Please seat”, so I was seating and then she scream “Can’t you see we are cleaning?” Laughing in very bad way. Very bad service, no way of treating a client. And very awful person.

Perfect meal, had a rump steak today that was simply delicious.

We tried to reserve in advance in mid-January and received no response, only a confirmation of receipt. Then tried to contact us by phone. Unfortunately it wasn't possible either. What happened to us before with this restaurant. It said on the internet that it was open. So we went there. Result: Restaurant was closed, without information why and for how long. We won't come back again.

It felt like they just wanted our money and didn't bother to provide decent service. I specifically chose this place because their website and Google listing said they had vegetarian options. However, when I asked about it, I was simply offered fish - my dietary needs were completely ignored. No effort was made to accommodate me or even show interest, which was both frustrating and misleading. It felt like false advertising. The service was by far the worst. The staff was rushed, inattentive and completely uninterested in providing a good experience. They didn't bother to explain the menu or drinks, and when we asked questions we got curt, hasty answers, as if we were a burden to them. There was no friendliness, no engagement - just an obvious desire to get us in and out as quickly as possible. This place is nothing more than a typical tourist trap with no real charm or character. If you are looking for an authentic experience with great service, I would strongly recommend you avoid this place and go to Gurkloch 38 or Altfränkische Weinstube instead. Both offer a much better atmosphere, genuine hospitality and a dining experience that actually makes you feel valued. I would give this restaurant 0 stars, but the minimum you can choose is 1 star. Today I went to the Landsknechtstubchen with my parents. And I was very positively surprised. Excellent price-performance ratio, friendly service, simple but tasty dishes, and the spaetzle was definitely homemade. I can only recommend it.

We had a wonderful evening right by the fireplace :)

Das Personal ist freundlich, aber wenn um 12.30 Uhr der Grill aus ist, muss man sich nicht wundern wenn das Fleisch kalt ist. Sie haben sich zwar bemüht aber die Zutaten waren am Montag nicht frisch und gerollt wurde der Dürüm direkt auf dem Thresen ohne Unterlage. Hier wird auch Geld hingelegt. Wir werden wohl nicht mehr hier her kommen.
