Das Essen war köstlich. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Einrichtung gefällt mir sehr gut. Hunde sind im Restaurant erlaubt.

Ein wunderschönes Hotel, das schon von außen ein echter Hingucker ist – die mit Efeu bewachsene Fassade verleiht ihm einen ganz besonderen Charme. Die Zimmer sind unglaublich gemütlich und liebevoll eingerichtet, fast wie in einem kleinen Schloss. Der Service war durchweg hervorragend – alle Mitarbeitenden waren herzlich, aufmerksam und haben dafür gesorgt, dass wir uns rundum wohlgefühlt haben. Das Frühstück gehört definitiv zu den besten, die wir bisher genießen durften: mit viel Liebe zubereitet, abwechslungsreich und einfach köstlich. Auch das Restaurant können wir sehr empfehlen. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet, der Wein lecker und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt absolut. Dazu kommt die tolle Lage, die den Aufenthalt perfekt abrundet. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder! 😊🏰🍷✨

Schon von außen ist dieses Restaurant total malerisch mit seiner Efeubewachsenen Fassade, den kleinen Fenstern, alten Balken und kleinen Tischen davor. Innen ein uriger Gadthof mit mehreren Räumen, vielen alten Sachen zum Entdecken von Ölgemälden, ausgestopftem Wildschweinkopf, alten Flaschen bis zum rußgeschwärzten offenen Kamin. Das Essen ist lecker und toll angerichtet. Kindergerichte gibt es nicht aber wir konnten uns die Reste einpacken lassen. Wir lieben es hier einfach.

Lecker Essen und schöne Atmosphäre

Wir kamen uns vor wie der Ritter und das Burgfräulein. Die Zimmer waren einzigartig, wie im Mittelalter, jedoch alles schön. Das Bad groß und modern. Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und das Abendessen in der Weinstube sowie der fränkische Wein waren super. Das Frühstück am nächsten Morgen genial. Wenn Rothenburg ob der Tauber, dann sofort wieder die Altfräbkische Weinstube.

Ein sehr schöne gemütliche Altfränkische Weinstube. Der Service und die Freundlichkeit einfach mega. Das essen geschmacklich ein Gaumen Schmaus. Das Rumpsteak auf den Punkt gebraten. Die Schweine Medalions mit Steinpilzen auch super Lecker. Wir haben für 2 Personen mit Getränken etwas über 50 Euro gezahlt. Einfach top.

Ein Highlight unseres Urlaubs. Die Atmosphäre ist genial. Alles top in Schuss, sehr sauber. Ein altes Haus das voller Leben ist. Die Gastgeber sind sehr aufmerksam, und das Frühstück ist sensationell. Zukünftige Aufenthalte in Rothenburg nur mehr in der altfränkischen Weinstube.

Abscheulichrs Verhalten. Ich werde diese negative Erfahrung entsprechend öffentlich teilen und verteilen Ich bin schockiert über die fehlende Menschlichkeit dieses Hotels. Aufgrund eines Todesfalls in meiner Familie war ich gezwungen, die Reise abzusagen – eine absolute Ausnahmesituation. Dennoch zeigte das Hotel keinerlei Mitgefühl und bestand stur auf den vollen Kosten. Hier geht es nicht nur um Geschäftsbedingungen, sondern um grundlegende Menschlichkeit. Wer in so einer Situation keine Kulanz zeigt, stellt Profit ganz klar über seine Gäste. Für mich ist dieses Verhalten absolut inakzeptabel. Ich werde dieses Hotel definitiv nicht mehr buchen und kann jedem nur raten, sich gut zu überlegen, ob er hier im Ernstfall ebenso behandelt werden möchte. Besonders irritierend ist nicht nur die Entscheidung selbst, sondern die komplette fehlende Bereitschaft, auch nur ansatzweise auf die Situation einzugehen. Hier entsteht der Eindruck, dass wirtschaftliche Interessen ohne jede Abwägung über menschliche Aspekte gestellt werden. Ich werde diese Erfahrung entsprechend öffentlich teilen und bei zukünftigen Buchungen konsequent auf Anbieter setzen, die in solchen Situationen verantwortungsvoller handeln. Jedem potenziellen Gast kann ich nur empfehlen, sich genau zu überlegen, ob er dieses Risiko eingehen möchte.

Schnuckliges Hotel, freundliches Personal, reichhaltiges Frühstück, Hund kein Problem

Wir hatten ein wunderbares Abendessen mit Wein. Die Schweinekoteletts mit Spätzl und Pilzsoße waren hervorragend. Die Einrichtung ist eklektisch und etwas kitschig.

Für uns war das der Besuch in der mit Abstand schönsten Weinstube in Rothenburg. Urgemütlich und mit sehr viel Charme einer leider fast vergangenen Zeit. Das Essen war reichhaltig und sehr gut. Dazu noch eine sehr große Auswahl an Fränkischen Weinen. Wenn wir wieder in Rothenburg sein werden, ist der Besuch in der Altfränkischen Weinstube schon heute fest eingeplant. Kleiner Tipp: Unbedingt vorher telefonisch reservieren.

Wir waren zum Essen vor Ort. Eine echt tolle Küche, sehr leckeres Essen. Kleiner minimaler Minuspunkt, man wartet etwas bei der Nachbestellung von Getränken. Das Ambiente ist wundervoll und die Bedienung sind sehr nett.

Wir haben hier in Rothenburg gegessen. Was für ein schönes und gemütliches Restaurant! Wir saßen im „Freshman Zimmer“. So charmant und gemütlich! Alles war aus Holz, und die Wände waren mit kleinen Dekoartikeln geschmückt. Das Essen war köstlich und preiswert. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Man merkte, dass sie gerne Gäste bedienten. Absolut empfehlenswert!

I paid 276€ to not stay at this location because they cancelled my stay without my knowledge and no one took responsibility and they will not reimburse me. I could not contact anyone for booking errors prior to my trip and I couldn’t believe how flippant the husband was when I went there to clear things up and how incredibly unhelpful he was about giving me information about when someone who was more knowledgeable about booking would be available. It is criminal that they pass the blame to booking when they have no one to call about booking issues / don’t respond to messages on booking / don’t answer questions on the premises. This has been the worst experience I’ve ever had with booking and/ or a hotel. What a nightmare. Avoid. Este hotel no tiene vergüenza para nada para coger tu dinero y cancelar sin razón. Y no puedes contactarle por el número en su página web/ booking/ ni nada…. Tampoco es imposible para hablar con ellos presencial. Intenté resolver el problema hace meses… pero no le apetece devolver mi dinero aunque me cancela y tenía el hotel lleno las noches. Evita este lugar a toda costa, los propietarios no tienen vergüenza y fingen ignorancia para eludir responsabilidad.

The food is truly above average. The dressing on the side salad was particularly delicious. Despite the restaurant being full, the food arrived quite quickly. The only downsides were that we waited quite a while for the beer and it's quite difficult to make reservations by phone. We called at different times (daily) throughout the week and only got a reservation when we were there in person. Payment here is cash only.

The most delicious dinner of our week in Rothenburg

This review is for the Altfränkische Weinstube restaurant. Six of us went there for dinner for our mother's 91st birthday, and our opinion of the food and service was unanimous: absolutely outstanding! We haven't eaten this well in years. All the dishes on the small but select menu were exceptionally good. The salad and dressing were delicious, the pork loin was above-average quality, the steak was cooked to perfection, the schnitzel was perfectly seasoned and prepared, the spaetzle was just like mom's homemade, and so on. The food is clearly of a Michelin-star standard, the portion sizes are perfect, and the price? Unbeatable! Six people with drinks (including wine) for under €150. Here in the West, you would have paid twice as much. The service was very friendly and relaxed. Always take good care of the chef 😏 Small suggestion for improvement: There should be at least one sweet wine (not semi-dry) on the menu, and the exterior lighting should be brighter and more inviting, so that people don't think the shop is closed and it's also safer for older people to access. In any case: Highly recommended!!! 😋

We really liked the place and asked if there were seats outside. We were told no, only that there might be some in another area (though the answer wasn’t very clear). It turned out there were free tables inside, but the waitresses attended to a couple who arrived after us. We ended up waiting over an hour for our food, which was the biggest issue. That said, the food itself was excellent.

A small, quaint, but one of the most beautiful, comfortable hotels I've ever stayed in in my 60 years. The bed and breakfast was excellent. I would stay there again anytime.

While reading the Google reviews beforehand, I immediately noticed the reasonable prices in the menu pictures—but these were confirmed during our visit. The place is truly unique: authentic, quaint, and original—no trace of tourist rip-offs. In addition to the remarkable ambiance, there's a friendly, quirky chef who even serves himself. The dishes are regional (Schlotengel, Schmalzbrot), delicious, and beautifully prepared. A clear recommendation, and not just because of the incredible value! I explicitly link to my pictures.

A beautiful hotel in a picturesque place. We arrived later than check-in time (18:00), but the staff was very kind and we were checked-in in the room without any problems. Everything is saturated with history and creates an incredible atmosphere of a fairy tale.

We stayed in a vacation apartment right next to the restaurant for a long weekend. After having dinner there, we returned for dinner on our second evening. The food was excellent; all the dishes were very tasty. We had lovely outdoor seating. It was clear that the waiter wasn't a full-time professional, but he was still on the ball and very attentive. The prices were reasonable, too; highly recommended in summer.

We made a reservation for our daughter’s birthday. The place is beyond charming, and staff very nice. Seems like everything is made fresh daily, and although they didn’t have any desserts that day, they put something together for our daughter for her bday and didn’t charge us. Very sweet. Food was delicious. A very nice evening!

Beautiful restaurant with a quaint outdoor seating area. Unfortunately, it's not suitable for vegetarians. The only dishes are cheese spaetzle and baked Camembert. The spaetzle were a dry, greasy lump, definitely not homemade. The Camembert also seemed to be store-bought and not even homemade. It was served with dry bread.

A beautiful little hotel in the heart of Rothenburg, yet quietly located. The staff is super friendly and attentive. The rooms are newly renovated and very comfortable. The restaurant impresses with excellent cuisine and fine wines at fair prices. The rump steak was gigantic. Top quality. Breakfast was served directly to the table; there was absolutely everything and plenty of it. The ambiance in the breakfast room was just as cozy and lovingly decorated as the dining room. We loved the boxes for packing breakfast as a packed lunch. Highly recommended; we would love to come back.

The restaurant is very good - outside tables on a very quite street. The food is very delicious and the waiters are very polite. They speak rather good English. The service is a bit slow but all the dishes were worth the wait. I do recommend it as a very nice place for din er.

Super! - fairytale accommodation; - ideal location: absolutely quiet despite the proximity to the most visited places: - the RothenburgMuseum is in the next building; - less than 1 minute to the monastery garden and St. Jacob's Church; - about 2 minutes to the town hall, market square, German Christmas Museum, Käthe Wohlfahrt - Christmas Village. - great service: helpful, German and English speaking staff, without arrogance; - fabulous Franconian breakfast that leaves nothing to be desired. However, it is not recommended for families with small children, as the ground floor (in the living room) can be noisy in the evenings.

The hotel looks very romantic, there are a lot of old things to see when you enter. Unfortunately, the comfort of our room was very below average (bed, bathroom, fan heater in the bathroom, 2 broken bedside lamps). The breakfast service and check-out were handled by 2 unfriendly ladies. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed in the evening, so we can't judge it.

3 days in Rothenburg o.d.T. and ate there twice in the evening - that says it all, right? Go there and convince yourself of the hospitality and the delicious food. The “side salad” alone is awesome with melon, apple, strawberries and a great dressing. Whether cheese spaetzle or rump steak - everything is very, very tasty! And the atmosphere is just cozy!
