Net buiten het middeleeuwse centrum, vlakbij de vestingmuur. ruim, schaduwrijk terras. Eten was heerlijk. In tijden niet zo n lekkere schnitzel gegeten. Verse patat erbij. Helaas was het personeel nogal stug en traag. Kwam ongeïnteresseerd bij ons over. Misschien hadden we pech?

During a short visit to Rothenburg, we spontaneously stopped at the potato parlor for dinner. A great decision that made us repeat offenders after 3 days. Super nice service, with nice exchanges of words that made the stay entertaining. The dishes are very tasty, the Schäufele is particularly recommended. All the best to the team 👍.

We had high expectations for this restaurant, especially after being quite satisfied so far. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. When we asked for small changes to our dishes, such as poultry instead of pork or fried potatoes instead of fries, we were treated unfriendly and snippy by the staff. It felt like our requests were a huge inconvenience, which noticeably soured the atmosphere at the table. A polite answer and rejection would not have bothered anyone. The low point came when we asked for the bill. The waitress thought we wanted dessert and responded mockingly that she didn't have anything to collect now and we should wait. She then actually made us wait and first cashed in from all the surrounding tables before she finally took care of our bill. I can't say whether that was right or not, but everyone at the table felt uncomfortable. The food was excellent, but the unfriendly service makes it hard to continue supporting this restaurant. It's a shame, because with better service it could be a real highlight.

Wir wurden sehr herzlich behandelt und das Essen war absolut fantastisch. Vorher waren wir müde und die Moral am Boden und danach waren alle wieder happy :) auch der Weißwein war ausgezeichnet. Klare Empfehlung auch mit Kind. Man sieht dass die Restauration gepflegt und geliebt ist.

Absolutely top! I haven't eaten so incredibly well in a long time. If that hadn't come across as too greedy, I would have ordered the "Schäufele dish" twice. We were guests in this chic hut for one night on our motorcycle tour and this Schäufele was recommended to me. As I said, fantastic 👍 Also when it comes to service, friendliness and cleanliness... absolutely recommended. When I read some of the reviews here, it really blows my mind. Absolute blast! Although the whole restaurant was almost empty, two strange women with a dog were assigned a place at our table. Only when I made it clear that I didn't want to do that were the two women assigned another seat. When our order came, a hot plate of pizza was handed to me. Afterwards I had noticeable redness on my hand. It was clear to me: That was intentional!

We live near Rothenburg, but we haven't been to the potato parlor yet. We tried it once and were rudely complimented. This evening we went for a walk in the city again and wanted to stop off. So, again, give the potato parlor a chance. We stand in front of the beer garden, are happy about free tables and a waitress (boss?) comes up to us and asks what we want. Actually have a drink is our answer. “No” (in a tone as if we wanted her firstborn), if we don’t eat, we won’t get a seat. I thought of the quote “The wiser one gives in…” and I didn’t feel like giving her any feedback. But the second part “… establishes world domination by stupid people” now invites me to catch up online. 1. It is the company's philosophy as to who is sold to, the owner decides and the employees carry it out. So I can understand and accept the lady's text. But the sound makes the music and that was strange. 2. There should be no distinction – neither in service nor in quality – whether the guests are tourists or locals. But we live here and enjoy walking and eating in Rothenburg. We'll come back if we like it. We recommend it if we like it; Friends and family are happy to follow our recommendations. And we go with our guests wherever we like because we like to do something good for them. I think it's clear from my point of view that the potato parlor neither gets a third chance nor is it recommended. 3. It's in the evening and I rather hesitantly said to my husband "...actually just a drink...". The experienced restaurateur can therefore imagine that these guests will not only make sales from drinks, but may also eat something (and / or be so satisfied that they will come back and recommend one). We had a drink right next door and also ordered some food. They were polite and attentive from start to finish. The food was again of good quality (we were there for the second time, not as an attempt, but actually). And we were happy to leave our money there; in exchange for hospitality. Well, lady of the potato room and company management, probably - given the kind we've experienced twice now - they don't care at all about my feedback, but it was nice for me to write it because I don't want to accept unfounded rudeness in silence.

Simply awesome food, for very good prices. If you would have anything like this in the Netherlands it would cost you double. Pork shoulder for just 17 euro...

I enjoyed a piping hot potato rosti with tasty ratatouille, accompanied by a glass of light riesling. I tried out my German with the waitress and she answered me in English! Friendly and efficient service. Seemed to be a traditional local restaurant, well patronised. A short walk from the Marktplatz area.

The food was generally good, but I didn't like the fact that extra money was added to my bill for service, you only find out about it when you pay for the food, you can choose from several amounts, the lowest of which is 3 Euro

As the name of the restaurant suggests, the focus of the food is on potato dishes. For example, potato soup, potato pizza, potato gratin and potato rosti, as well as salads, are offered. There are also vegetarian dishes (e.g. vegetarian potato pepper pizza). Staff was friendly. You could pay in cash or with an EC card. It is recommended to make a reservation in advance (in good time), especially if you are visiting the restaurant with several people as it is often fully booked despite the many seating options. For example, you could park in parking spaces within walking distance.

Classic German restaurant located just outside the beautiful town walls. Found it by chance while we were looking for a place to eat since it's the only one that let us have dinner at 9pm (barely because here too, like the rest of the restaurants, they close after 9pm, well!). Classic local dishes, their breaded cutlet with very good potatoes, the potato flan with pieces of ham inside and I don't know what type of cheese was truly a surprise, excellent, tasty and in XL portions. There was no way to taste the strudel with ice cream because they told us that the kitchen was now closed and even if in my opinion there was nothing to cook there was no way to convince them, very strict about the opening hours. Price of 3 flans, 1 cutlet with potatoes, 3 medium beers and 1 water, 88 euros

Kartoffelstube, appena fuori dalle mura del centro storico, è un locale assolutamente tipico, dove il cibo è economico, ma buonissimo e abbondante. Come suggerisce il nome, il loro ingrediente preferito sono le patate. Fanno addirittura una pizza a base di patate, ma spettacolari sono i Kartoffelnocken, gnocchi di patate straconditi serviti in una terrina bollente. Ottimi anche i piatti a base di carne. Hanno anche un bel Biergarten esterno.

Great restaurant, really tasty Schäufle, great value for money, good beer and very friendly staff

The potato stube is a very cozy restaurant. The service staff was very friendly throughout. Six of us ate here and were allowed to take our dog into the restaurant. The dishes were all extremely tasty and the price was absolutely moderate for what was offered to us. The scoop with the tastiest dumplings I have ever eaten was very crispy and extremely seasoned. Rounded off with a delicate sauce, simply delicious! The cordon bleu, the asparagus dishes and the potato gratin are highly recommended; we were all completely full and very satisfied. We were allowed to play cards at the large table with a nice beer until the parlor closed at 9 p.m. Thank you again for the unpretentious friendliness and the great food.

Perfectly hand-cooked food. Homemade gravy, delicious! Meat falls off the bone, ultra tender. Small point deduction: my companion's food came 10 minutes later than mine. But since it was so tasty, it wasn't a big problem.

We happened to be walking past as we walked the town and decided to give it a try. We were so happy we did! The sausage and sauerkraut were amazing and the potato soup was top notch too!

Erster Eindruck durch eine sehr herzhafte Begrüßung war sehr gut. Auch die weitere Bewirtung wurde sehr freundlich durchgeführt. Wir waren mit sechs Personen am Tisch und Alle waren begeistert von den Speisen. Dieses Haus ist durch sein Personal und seine Küche nur zu empfehlen.

As the name suggests, potato dishes are the focus. Whether a pizza with a potato base, potato dumplings or even meat dishes like Schäufele, which is very tender and highly recommended, you have a good selection. The waiting time is reasonable and we have rarely eaten such freshly cooked hot food as we did there! Everything is within reasonable price, even though you are traveling in the tourist town of Rothenburg. We all left the restaurant more than full.

Les plats proposés sont axés sur la pomme de terre. C'est un restaurant de cuisine allemande familiale...donc, ce n'est pas très raffiné mais finalement c'est moins cher que dans les autres restaurants du village qui proposent le même genre de plats. Donc...à essayer si vous voulez tester ce genre de cuisine car les plats sont ici copieux et pas chers. Le restaurant est très joli avec une décoration charmante et typique. Le service était agréable. L'apple strudel était excellent.

We just had dinner here. I (myself from the catering industry) can only recommend the restaurant!!! It's been a long time since I've had such good gratain. My husband's Schäufele is great and can be removed from the bone so delicately. Service very nice and attentive, we will come back when we are in Rothenburg again!

Very good Schäufele and an imaginative and extremely tasty potato pizza were the highlights of this evening in the rustic and well-attended potato parlor. Complemented by very attentive and friendly service, this restaurant is a real recommendation in Rothenburg.

Clear recommendation if you have constipation! We visited this restaurant with a larger group. My cousin and I were the only ones to order the Schäufele and were the only ones to suffer from diarrhea afterwards. When I then called the restaurant and reported my experience, they denied any blame.

We were guests in the restaurant on the first evening of our stay at the hotel. There was Schäufele. The food tasted great, the crowd was good and the location was cozy. We recommend.

Food was super tasty, quick and cheap for the great location. Atmosphere was absolutely authentic and quaint. On Saturday evening at 7 p.m. we were given a place without ordering. Parking directly in front of the restaurant and dogs are allowed.

My goodness, that was good. Beautiful here, it smells so good and the homemade fries are so delicious, the salad is one of the tastiest and freshest I've ever had. I also recommend the sauerbraten with red cabbage. That was so cool.

Geschmeckt hat Schäuferle + Kartoffelpizza mit Blattspinat. Lecker auch der eigene Quetten-Glühwein. Und als Nachtisch die Apfel-Küchle zu empfehlen. Service ist sehr nett, kundenorientiert und zügig. Sehr zu empfehlen. Preis-/Leistung stimmt.

Really really nice German restaurant! The food is very good with the potato as the king of every plate! We tested pizza (pretty good...not perfect as the Italian one but good 😁) and the salmon with a sort of small tomato pizza has been very well appreciated by all of us. At the end the strudel...so tasty! I will be back again as soon as in Rothenburg! Congrats

Das Essen in der Kartoffelstube war ausgezeichnet. Bei den moderaten Preisen haben wir gar nicht damit gerechnet, so exquisite und großzügig portionierte Gerichte serviert zu bekommen. Das Ambiente spricht eher Senioren an, aber es war alles sauber und liebevoll eingerichtet und die Kellnerinnen waren sehr freundlich. Vielen Dank!

Heute waren wir im Kartoffelhaus in Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Hier gibt es zu recht 5 Sterne. Die Servicekräfte sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Ambiente ist so wie man es sich für eine Kartoffelstube so vorstellt einfach klasse. Die Speisekarte enthält einige interessante Menüs, das Essen wurde zeitnah reserviert und war auch sehr lecker und die Teller sind sehr gut gefüllt Da kommt jeder Kartoffelfan voll auf seine "Kosten " 😉 Das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis passt gut zusammen Kurz gesag : zum weiterempfehlen Wenn wir nochmal in Rothenburg ob der Tauber sind werden wir bestimmt noch mal wieder kommen.

SEHR lecker. Wir hatten Rösti mit Ratatouille und Cordon Bleu. SEHR empfehlenswert! Wir waren nur 1 Nacht in Rothenburg, sonst wären wir jeden Abend hingegangen.

Waren ohne Reservierung da wurden freundlich empfangen. Essen super. Speisen blieben lange warm in einem sehr liebevoll gestalteten Gastraum.

Nette Lage gleich außerhalb eines der alten Stadttore und eingerichtet wie eine gemütliche, moderne bayrische Wirtschaft. Hatte eine Kartoffelpizza mit Schmand, Speck, Zwiebeln. Knusprig und geschmacklich gut, aber sie schwamm ziemlich in Fett. Wen Kalorien nicht stören, der ist aber gut bedient, v.a. Da die ganze Pizza da k Kartoffeln gut satt macht und nur 11,50€ kostete.

Wer in Rothenburg urlaubt, sollte einen Abend in der Kartoffelstube einplanen. Unbedingt mit Reservierung. Wir hatten die leckere Kartoffelpizza, hätten uns aber zig andere Gerichte aussuchen können… Wir kommen wieder 😃

Empfehlung von einer Mitarbeiterin vom Hotel Breiterle. Wir haben nicht reserviert und trotzdem hatten wir Glück mit einem Platz. Ambiente wie bei Oma in der Küche, hat mir sehr gefallen. Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Essen war richtig gut. Kann es nur jedem Empfehlen in die Kartoffelstube zu gehen.

La spalla di maiale è qualcosa di spettacolare. Gustosa e si scioglie in bocca. Il tortino di patate gratinate con spinaci ha il sapore forte ma decisamente piacevole. Ottima scelta di birre. Servizio cortese disponibile e rapido. Non posso che consigliarlo.

Wir hatten vorab reserviert, was gut so war. Schönes Ambiente im Biergarten. Obwohl wir beide eine Kartoffelpizza hatten, kamen beide kurz hintereinander. Die erste nicht mehr ganz heiß, die andere war schön heiß. Jedoch geschmacklich sehr lecker. Man weist im Eingang schon auf Grund von Personslmangel auf eine etwas längere Wartezeit hin. Was sich aber lohnt!

Lekkere gerechten uit de Duitse keuken en met een grote frisse pint erbij. Het kan hier wel druk zijn. Het is daarom het beste van steeds te reserveren om een plaats te hebben en ook omdat het restaurant erg populair is.

Greeted with a friendly hello, but when we spoke the demeanor changed to nasty and a firm and rude NO! We were refused seating while those who followed us were seated. Our experience across Germany has been nothing but positive thus far, so I hope this was an aberration. Really was looking forward to the potato menu after strolling around Rothenburg all day. We found a nice restaurant / Biergarten up the hill that served a very tasty schnitzel and fresh salad instead.

Ich habe hier eine Nacht verbracht. Ich wurde sehr herzlich empfangen. Das Zimmer war gemütlich und gut ausgestattet. Der Hitze (es waren ca. 38°) konnte ich mit dem Ventilator im Zimmer gut entgegenwirken. Der Minibarkühlschrank hat gereicht um mein Getränk kühl zu halten. Große Flaschen passen allerdings nicht rein. Am Abend habe ich mir das Schäufele gegönnt, dessen Kruste sehr gut war. Aber auch die Kartoffelknödel waren sehr lecker. Das Frühstück heute morgen, war ebenso schön. Hier wird einem das Frühstücksei angeboten und sogar, wenn nötig der Kaffee nachgeschenkt. Alles in allem war der Aufenthalt neben der ohnehin wunderschönen Stadt so schön, dass ich bestimmt wieder komme.

Wir haben im lauschigen Biergarten gegessen, es war wie immer lecker, die Bedienung freundlich. Seit Jahren kommen wir her , es war noch nie schlecht.

Egel ob Gratin, Schäufele oder Pizza - alles war geschmacklich wirklich gut. Zudem toller Service. Weil die Kartoffelstube wirklich auf gesamter breite überzeugte, haben wir (Gruppe 20 Personen) die Gartenwirtschaft ein weiteres Mal besucht.

Exelent food and bier, you can take few different foods and share them. Porks shoulder was great, really tender meat that melts in your mouth. And the pepperoni kartoffel pizza was really tasty. Not 5 stars because panna cotta wasn't in our taste.

Absolute Empfehlung, toller, freundlicher, aufmerksamer Service, leckeres Essen. Das Schäufele ist das Beste und dazu ein Kellerbier und als Dessert, einen Grappa vom Traminer. Danke. 👋🏻

Wir saßen im gemütlichen Biergarten unter der großen Kastanie. Trotz Personalmangels auf den auch vorher aufmerksam gemacht wurde, gab es nichts zu meckern. Service und Essen war Top. Wir kommen gern wieder.

Hier gibt es super leckere Kartoffelgerichte. Jeder der schon einmal die Kartoffelpizza probiert hat, wird von ihr schwärmen. Diese gibt es in verschiedenen Varianten. Auch die selbstgemachten Kartoffelpuffer und die vielen anderen Gerichte sind großartig!!! Im Sommer sollte man unbedingt in den tollen Biergarten von der Kartoffelstube gehen. Dieser ist mit seinen großen Kastanienbäumen einer der schönsten in ganz Rothenburg!!!

Ein Geheimtipp MUST GO in Rothenburg ob der Tauber!!! Wo sonst kann man eine Kartoffelpizza probieren? Ich mjss ehrlich sagen, meine Kartoffelpizza mit Spargel und hausgemachtem Pesto war die leckerste Pizza in meinem Leben!! Kann man mit der herkömmlichen Pizza nicht vergleichen - die Kartoffelpizza schmelzt im Mund.Die Wartezeit ist etwas zu lang da die Bude sehr beliebt ist, aber es lohnt sich definitiv. Am besten im Voraus reservieren. Dee Service ist auch freundlich und zuvorkommend!! Sollte ich nochmal diese wundervolle Stadt besuchen, komme ich zweifellos her!!!

Kartoffelpizza, interessante Variation mit Spargel oder Spinat. Sehr lecker, nur eine Geschmacksnuance von Fondor oder ähnlichem (Geschmacksverstärker?) störte ein klein wenig. Freundliche Bedienung und Weinberatung. Nur der Haselnussschnaps für 6€ ist preislich überzogen, wenn auch lecker!
