Unfortunately, we didn't have a lot of choice in Rothenburg because some other restaurants were closed and had to go on vacation. The food was okay, not great. On our trip to Franconia and Bavaria we were able to try completely different things, sometimes even cheaper. The cordon bleu was nothing special and neither was the red cabbage/red cabbage with the roast pork. We were a little disappointed. It's a shame, it was supposed to be our farewell evening.

The prices were salty (€4.9 for a measly cappuccino) and the cup was also unwashed because a lipstick mark was clearly visible on the edge of the cup. The cup itself had as much coffee in it as in a shot and the service was unfriendly. In general, the restaurant is not recommended.

We had lunch there and, looking back, would have preferred another restaurant. The food isn't spectacular, the sauce for the bread dumplings was really poorly seasoned and the mushrooms couldn't save it. The positive thing was that there wasn't a long wait, the service was friendly.

You can tell that it is a tourist restaurant, it is normal because it is a city full of tourism but that is extrapolated to the food, we ordered a snichtzel pizza and the truth is that it is not worth it at all for what it is worth, very expensive. The knuckle, according to a friend, is good.

Went there for dinner with the family. It was super quick and really tasty. The homemade spaetzle is my insider tip. The location right on the town hall square is also really great.

Wir waren spontan auf Kurzbesuch in Rothenburg und hatten das Lokal zum Abendessen ausgewählt. Das Cordon bleu war billige Tiefkühlkost und wurde uns auf Nachfrage als hausgemacht angepriesen. Auch die Bratkartoffeln die wir an stelle der Pommes Frittes bestellt hatten waren aus dem Convienience Regal. Für die Preise unzumutbar. Der Service war nett, das Ambiente auch. Daher noch befriedigend

As a family of five, we were offered a table with four chairs and the solution to this would be for someone in the group to sit at the next table and eat there. After we declined the offer, the waitress mumbled rudely. Not recommended

Great!! Went here just to eat and were very pleasantly surprised. It was very busy, which was a good sign from the start and we weren't disappointed. The food was simply GREAT! The best Maultaschen and the best fries I've ever had and the so-called "Pizzaschnitzel" was an absolute culinary delight, something I'd never heard of before. The service is also really friendly!

You don't necessarily have to go abroad, you'll get ripped off here too. We didn't want to have a drink after a bike ride. Two cyclists, 0.4 liters each, for just under 10 euros. Statement from the waitress: We are in Rothenburg and you can ask for whatever you want. It's sad that we have to experience something like that here in Franconia. No wonder the catering industry is getting worse and worse. 👎👎👎

A great location and very nice staff. But for almost 20 euros I imagine a CordonBleu to be a bit more appealing... The plate was as simple as you would get at a diner. The Leberkäse with egg and fried potatoes for around 14 euros was also very “manageable”... It was OK - but nothing more!

We were looking forward to eat here but the lady serving tables was so rude with telling us to move the buggy and when we tried to move 10cm a table under the umbrella, she was not able to ask us in a polite way not to do so. We stand up and leave.

We probably had frozen potato pancakes from the deep fryer, tasteless dumplings with “cream sauce” and Leberkäs with fried potatoes. Small portions and taste like straight from the gas station. Definitely a restaurant where you won't find any locals.

Food was okay. Selection of vegetarian main dishes quite small. Kind of expensive with at least 20€ for main dishes. We waited for 30min before we could order even though there were not many people and we had to search for a waiter and ask if we could order now. FYI You need to spend at least 20€ to pay by card.

We wanted to have a drink in the Goldener Lamm with 8 people at 9:05 p.m. and were very rudely turned away with the information that the curfew was at 10 p.m. There is no understanding at all since there were free tables and the drinks would have generated sales!

On a beautiful summer evening we were happy to be able to get a small table on the market square. But this was clearly the worst meal I've been served in years. Overcooked potatoes with overcooked vegetable mix with fried trout. Not only were all the dishes missing any spices, but the cook had also forgotten any salt. After I complained, I was simply answered that this was the style of cooking here. And salt and pepper shakers would be on the table. ABSOLUTE TOURIST FINE!!!

"Shabby" place... a wasp falls into my beer and they offer me to remove it or "pay" for a new one. What a pity ! Tourists who will not return. I do not recommend coming

Servisen var frånvarande och lyssnade inte till vad vi ville ha. Maten var lite bättre än en vägkrog. Läget är mycket bra och ligger i absoluta mitten vid kyrkan. Härligt att höra kyrkklockorna spela. Upplever att det är på denna plats det rör sig mest människor.

Nice location in the old town. The food was good, but nothing more. I would have liked a smile from the service or some kind of signal that you were welcome. Would I eat here again? No, I would look for an alternative.

At first we were not allowed to eat outside under the parasol because of the rain. Later we just wanted a beer but had to eat. Ordered food but after 45 minutes we were told that an error had occurred and they could not serve one dish, ordered again and waited 30 minutes for this one. Was promised coffee as compensation for the mess, they also performed this and forgot. When we finally had to pay, there was an error on the card terminal and I had to go and withdraw cash.

Restaurant is like most in Europe, food takes a looong time. Nowhere is it stated they do not take cash.... Until you try to pay the bill. Just walked a mile and paid a service charge of $65 (!!!!!) to withdraw $250 and ngl I feel very scammed. Tell people upfront. I never would have eaten here, it is overpriced and generic but would have been acceptable if it hadn't been cold because i spent the last 20 minutes finding a working ATM. As it stands I wonder if they have a share in the local ATM monopoly. Never again.

Total scam! They advertise that they take cards but then say cash only when you try to use one to pay the bill which took an hour to come. Just paid a sixty five dollar service charge at an ATM machine. What the hell? Zero stars. Would NOT do business again.

We were here for dinner. The pork knuckles with sauerkraut and dumplings are simply perfect. Good portion and tasty.

My wife and I chose to visit this restaurant whilst staying in Rothenburg after reading good reviews and we weren't disappointed. We visited quite early, about 5pm and although many of the outside seating area s were full there was plenty of room to eat inside. We had a nice table by a window with views of the main square. Service was quick and efficient and the staff were all friendly and welcoming. They did speak English if needed. Food was well cooked and tasty as was the bier. Prices very reasonable given the location where you might have expected to pay a little more. We enjoyed our meals so much that we revisited two nights later. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Unfortunately we chose the wrong restaurant. We ordered the rump steak medium rare twice. Unfortunately it came as well done, so it was reminiscent of a minute steak that had been fried for 10 minutes. We kindly pointed out to the waitress that the food was not what was ordered. She then apologized briefly and at the same time she went forward. We were really polite when complaining about the food. Simply incomprehensible how one can ignore a guest like that. A pity!

We ate very well in this restaurant on the main square in Rothenberg - and as we had little time, we were grateful for the very fast service we received. I had a pork escalope cordon bleu with a very good side salad and my wife had a big salad with excellent beef - accompanied by very good beer and a tasty apple strudel for dessert. Very good value in our opinion.

Great location, but the food wasn't great. Very touristy and not particularly fresh, the schnitzel wasn't homemade either. Relatively expensive, but you don't have that much choice on site.

The service was good and the location too. The food could be better for these prices. We celebrated my mom's 60th birthday there, the loin was very firm and didn't have much sauce, the schnitzels looked good. When we are in Rothenburg again we will go to another location

Came there to eat. Very exquisite. I had to order here too. It seems to me as if there are generally only small portions in Rothenburg's restaurants. We will be back. The atmosphere is very nice and everything is clean and well maintained. No dust on the shelves. Tables always wiped clean.

We were told by our tour guide the pork knuckle was exceptional. Honestly, it’s overpriced for an OK meal. Nothing’s special.

There is a sign at the entrance of the store saying that credit cards can be used, but when I checked out, the staff told me that they could only pay in cash. When I pointed out that there was a credit card payment machine in the store, the staff didn't apologize and insisted that it was broken. I paid in cash because the restaurant was not open, but the atmosphere of the place was ruined. Also, when I was shown to a table after entering, the staff didn't pull the chair out of the table, but for some reason pushed it firmly towards the table. It's a shame because the food was good.

We went out to eat in the middle of the week and were pleasantly surprised. Nice service, although there were only two tables occupied but you still felt comfortable. I had an onion roast and my partner had a vegetarian dish (see photos). The food came relatively quickly and was hot and tasty.

Delicious food and very friendly service, we felt completely at home. We ate pork loin with spaetzle, meatloaf with egg and fried potatoes, schnitzel with fried potatoes and a side salad.

We were here for the second time on Sunday evening on the way back from South Tyrol and were once again served in an extremely honest, warm and friendly manner. The food was excellent, both in terms of quality and quantity, the hospitality was clearly genuine, the prices were very reasonable, and the location was great. Can only be recommended. No fake friendliness or tourist trickery, as is sometimes the case in the neighborhood. We would be happy to come back again on our next stays. Special praise to the two extremely nice waitresses.

Great restaurant, absolutely recommended! We ate very well, I had the best spaetzle ever :) Also served on beautiful tableware in a tastefully modern decorated ambience, which complements the charm of the old building. The service is also top - and child-friendly! Last but not least: In a prime location, when the weather is nice you can eat outside.

Yesterday, on a very busy Saturday, we went to the Golden Lamm because we really liked the perfect location right on the market square. We were immediately greeted in a very friendly and warm manner by the staff and, despite the high number of visitors, we were shown straight to a nice and clean table in the outdoor area. The staff was very friendly and customer focused. Our drinks were there after just 5 minutes. The food after another 20 minutes, which is very impressive considering how many guests are there on Friday. I had a knuckle with dumpling and red cabbage, which was really great value for money. The crust of the Schäuferle is nice and crispy and the meat is really tender and has completely fallen away from the bone. For dessert there was an apple strudel, which was also very appetizing and tasted very good. Therefore 5 out of 5 stars I will go there again for dinner on my next visit to Rothenburg.

I went here for dinner with my girlfriend today, my dog ​​was very welcome. She was first served with a huge bowl of fresh water. I think it's great 👍🏻 I had cordon bleu with spaetzle and sauce. Yummy! Just the way I love it! The ladies in service were super friendly and quick. We would be happy to come back 👌🏻

Das Essen von meiner Freundin war kalt. Zudem hat es ewig gebraucht bis es zu uns kam. Das 1 Bier war weg das heißt nix gutes.

Good food at okay prices. Ordinary German regional dishes are delivered without the big frills in a cozy room. The level of service was quite high for the price. The restaurant is centrally located in the middle of the Town Hall Square.

We were only there to eat, not an overnight stay. We enjoyed the food. Home cooking.

Other than a good location. Came here for valentines day and was super disappointed. Starter soup was quite nice. Other than that, the beer recomndation and so called "traditional food" made us want to leave this review and leave to go elsewhere as soon as possible

The ambience is very nice. The service was also perfectly fine. We were there with a baby and even got a high chair. So generally very friendly. For food (which we had in 10 minutes), we had the cordon bleu and the spaetzle with turkey schnitzel. As you can see in the pictures, it is very carelessly prepared. You somehow expect some greens or simply vegetables to garnish. As we all know, the eye somehow eats too :) The cordon bleu was very hot, a bit bland in taste but edible. The fries were a bit soggy because the cordon bleu was on them, but they were well salted and still tasted good. The spaetzle dish is worth 5 stars. They were delicious, you can't go wrong. The criticism serves as a hint, maybe you can learn something from it :)

Wir haben sehr gut gegessen und wurden äußerst freundlich bedient. Auch unser Sohn wurde herzlich empfangen. Preislich etwas teurer als in den Seitenstraßen, aber zu empfehlen!

We are Greeks so we give a lot of importance to anything that is on the grill as in our country grilling is almost a daily habit. The staff is polite, the shop is very clean and the quality of the food exceeds our expectations. Everything was cooked to perfection. We look forward to next time.

Ein Stern für das Ambiente, ein Stern für den Service. Toll. Gutbürgerliche fränkische Küche geht aber anders. Sehr gerne dürfen Gewürze wie Salz, Pfeffer die Gerichte schmackhaft machen. Ein Schnitzel darf gerne knusprig braun gebraten sein, nicht noch weiß und mehlig. Ein Schweinebraten muss nicht matschig gegart sein. Blaukraut mit Zimt war zwar besonders, aber ganz gut. Ein Helles Bier schenkt man nicht in der Pilstulpe aus. Fränkischer Weißwein für über 8€ (0,2L) repräsentiert keinesfalls fränkische Gepflogenheiten. Werden wir nochmal hingehen ? - NEIN ! Das ist ein Touri Restaurant, leider. Wer hier gutbürgerliche fränkische Küche sucht, sucht vergebens.

Wir haben dort ausschließlich das Restaurant besucht und können daher die Unterkunft ansich nicht beurteilen. Bestellt hatte mein Mann Schweinebraten. Das Essen sah gut aus und war sehr heiß. Es gab zum Braten zwei kleine Klöße und Rotkohl. Was schade war, ist, dass das Fleisch völlig verkocht zu sein schien. Die Konsistenz war eigenartig. Auch hat es ihm zu fade geschmeckt - mit Ausnahme des Rotkohls - dieser war gut abgeschmeckt. Eventuell hilft die Kritik zur Optimierung

Lage top, Service nett, Preise in Ordnung. Essen okay (aber auch nicht mehr als okay). Beispiel: Haxe ganz gut, aber außen nicht kross, die Soße überraschend dünn und geschmacklos. Schade.

Wir waren am Wochenende dort, trotz recht vollem Lokal haben wir Platz gefunden. Top Lage, leckeres Essen, Preise angemessen für Rothenburg, äußerst zuvorkommend Bedienung, welche unseren Kindern vorweg das Essen brachte. Kommen gerne wieder.

Schönes Wirtshaus in Rothenburg, in dem man sich es sich gutgehen lassen kann. Sehr gastliche Räumlichkeiten, die eine gute Küche erwarten lassen.

Wir waren mit der Familie essen und allen hat es geschmeckt sogar den kleinsten. Alles ordentlich und sauber. Suuuper Service und keine langen Wartezeiten. Die kleinen haben das Essen zu erst bekommen super!!!

Wir waren "nur" zum Essen. Direkt im Zentrum, gegenüber vom neuen Rathaus gelegen, geht es kaum exponierter. Die Preise sind für eine absolute Touristenstadt wie R.o.d.T. in Ordnung. Die Speisen (wir hatten Cordon Bleu und Fränkische Bratwurst) waren sehr lecker und unsere Befürchtung, dass wir mit Touri-Essen buchstäblich abgespeist werden, hat sich erfreulicherweise nicht erfüllt. Besonderer Pluspunkt war die äußerst charmante Bedienung. Vielen Dank für die tolle Bewirtung. Wer in R.o.d.T. mal zu Gast ist, is(s)t hier richtig.

We ate here twice during our stay in Rothenburg. It is a nice, convenient place right on the main square. Once we ate inside, the ohter outside. Both are fine. The food was decent, the price fine. I thought the waitstaff was above average. We usually speak German but I did hear them speak English with a group sitting next to us.

Wir sind dank der guten Google-Rezensionen auf dieses Restaurant aufmerksam geworden und haben spontan noch einen Tisch ergattert. Chilli ist ein hervorragender Kellner und hat mir zu dem Tagesangebot geraten. Das Essen war sehr sehr lecker und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist absolut angemessen. Sollten wir nochmal im Urlaub in der Nähe sein, werden wir auf jeden Fall nochmal vorbeikommen!

Meine Frau hatte einen Schweinebraten mit Kloss mehr Fett als Fleisch die zwei kleinen Klöße waren in der Mitte Kalt " Sorry so einen Schweinebraten im Frankenland anzubieten ist schon fast ein Verbrechen , aber den Touristen kann man ja alles antreen. Ich hatte ein Schnitzel Wiener Art mit Pommes: Die Zitrone auf den "" Schnitzel "" war so trocken das kein Tropfen Zitronensaft heraus gekommen ist, die Pommes waren so hart das wenn man mit der Gabel reingestochen hat sie auseinander gebrochen sind, Salz hat kein einziger Pommes gesehen!!!! Die 2 Schnitzelchen haben ebenfalls keinerlei Gewürz gesehen, das obere Schnitzel war wenigstens noch Braun gebraten, das zweite war noch ganz hell, und die untere Seite war die Penate noch richtig weich und Klebrig, Sorry einmal und nie wieder ,

Sorry was hier als Schweinebraten angeboten wird, ist alles anders als ein Schweinebraten, mehr Fett als Fleisch. Die Klöße waren in der Mitte Kalt , Blaukraut schmeckt nach gar nichts. Schnitzel nach Wiener Art mit Pommes , die Pommes waren nur hart, keinerlei Salz, ebenfalls die beiden "" Schnitzelchen"" keinerlei Gewürz

Wenn Du mal schnell gut Fränkisch essen möchtest dann ist es hier genau richtig. Hatte meinen Schweinebraten mit Knödel und Rotkraut bestellt welcher auch nicht lange auf sich warten ließ. Dazu ein gutes Dunkeles Fränkisches Bier und der Abden ist gerettet....
