Restaurant Goldenes Lamm in Rothenburg ob der Tauber

We came to this restaurant and took the last free table. We ordered some local dishes and all were very delicious. The service was very quick and friendly. The prices were not high.

First of all: we were only in the restaurant and therefore cannot give a rating for the room. The restaurant is simple and rustic, but not uncomfortable. The service is very attentive and friendly, the food is delicious. It's not a special place, but you don't always have to eat at the upper class. And if you just want to eat out, the Golden Lamm is highly recommended.

Service was swift and food was great! We sat outdoors and had great views of the Marktplatz. Staff were friendly and helpful too! Ordered 2 mains, a side and 2 drinks, which cost ~€55

We ate here last Saturday at a company outing and it was very good. It went very quickly and everyone received their pre-ordered dish very quickly. Very friendly staff and the food tastes good. The prices were no higher than in other restaurants in the city.

Way too expensive for the amount of food! The schnitzel is very thin and unfortunately there isn't even a salad with it. The restaurant itself is beautifully and comfortably designed. It's also very clean. Unfortunately I don't think it's recommended.

The location of the place was really good, good spot to take a drink, we ordered a sausage and fries but for my personal opinion I really don't like it. I went to this place in Ocotber the weather was starting ti get a bit cold and they keep it really warm with heater in the chairs.

Wie das Lokal von einigen mit 5 Punkten bewertet werden ist uns ein Rätsel. Der Service war das beste im Lokal. Die Möbel im Lokal abgeranzt und fleckig. Die Schnitzel waren alles aber nicht frisch zubereitet, eher Tiefkühlkost 😩 Ein Glas Rose 0,2l für 8,60 € ist eine Frechheit. Der zweite Punkt ist nur weil das Personal recht freundlich war

Alles super. Toller schweinebraten. Kleines manko: Lende etwas trocken, geschmacklich aber gut. Hausgemachr Spätzle. Super aufmerksamer, freundlicher service. Gerne wieder.

Went there for dinner in the early evening. The schnitzels were freshly beaten and that was the only highlight. Neither the vegetarian recommendation nor the spaetzle were convincing.

We were there for lunch at lunchtime today. The service was very friendly. Everything seemed very comfortable. The taste of the food was very mixed for the price. But what I found much worse was the juice spritzer for 4.80 euros from Gut und Günstig. Just like the totally overpriced iced tea on offer, it's also good and cheap. The bottles were open at the counter so you could see them. The toilets were dirty, it didn't seem like fresh dirt. We will no longer visit or recommend this restaurant. Card payment also not possible.

My family and I celebrated Christmas in Rothenburg and we had our wonderful Christmas feast at the Goldenes Lamm! This was one of the best decisions we ever made because this restaurant was the best in Rothenburg! We have been to this lovely town twice already and our meals at Goldenes Lamm have been the highlight each time. The staff are warm and welcoming, the ambience is on point and the food is absolutely delicious!! I had the steak done medium rare and I still dream of this mouth-watering meal often! The staff speak perfect English and they accommodated every single weird culinary request my family made. Words cannot express how excited I am to return!! Thank you so much for a wonderful Christmas <3

We had lunch here today for lunch, two adults and two small children (5 years and 7 months old) and it was just great! The restaurant itself is very cozy and you immediately feel at home. The service was so friendly and accommodating and, above all, child-oriented. The food was very tasty, fresh and beautifully presented. We'd love to come back when we get the chance!

The location and service are good. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the food. We had tenderloin with pepper sauce and bread dumplings with mushroom cream sauce. Only cash is accepted. Long-distance international tourists may want to pay attention. After all, it is rare to bring cash when traveling in Europe. Of course, the service staff immediately informed the receptionist that only cash is accepted.

If I could give 6/5 stars, I would! Goldenes Lammes in Rothenburg is hands-down the best restaurant I’ve ever been to in Germany. I spent Christmas dinner here, and it was absolutely perfect. The roast beef was insanely good and the cheese pancakes were so creamy and well seasoned. They even let me switch out the spätzle for roast potatoes and gave me more fried onions when I asked for them with a huge smile on their face! The vibe is so cozy and rustic, and the staff were SO nice. They were so accomodating even when changed my reservation twice. The apple struedel with ice cream and whipped cream was absolutely delicious and divine - not too sweet or tarty! The portions for everything are huge, the prices are super reasonable, and honestly, I’d save up just to go back again. Lastly, they were open all day on Christmas, which was amazing because literally everywhere else was closed. And even after that, the place was still packed for a reason. If you’re ever in Rothenburg, you HAVE to go. Best meal, best vibes, best everything. 1000% recommend!!!

DOGS NOT WELCOME! We've been here for dinner several times over the last few years, not world class but good home cooking. For the second time we had our dog with us... In May we were quite reluctantly given a table and it was already said that big dogs stink, but it was positively and surprisingly discovered that our dog neither smells nor makes any noise, he just sleeps! Now to the current visit: When we asked if they had a table for 2 with a large dog (short fur, no smell, and quiet and well-behaved!!!), we were told that everything was reserved and also for the whole evening (it was only 6:30 p.m., never anything would be free.) 2 tables were free, there was no sign on them…. Well… what annoyed me was the condescending manner in which I was treated! They won't see us again in their guest house, which we lived in a few years ago, nor in the restaurant again!

Nice restaurant. Very nice staff even in the Christmas rush. There are reasonable prices here. Fried Maultaschen with scrambled eggs and a large salad are available for €14.90. It was delicious and the salad was fresh.

The restaurant is rated: Very child-friendly, homemade spaetzle is super tasty, cordon bleu with fries is also great and Maultaschen with honey mustard dressing is also good. The Scheyrn dark beer also tasted very good. Recommended!

We ate there during the Reiterlesmarkt. The staff is super nice, the restaurant is cozy. Unfortunately the food was very expensive, but that's just how it is in a tourist town with such a location. But the quality is unfortunately not particularly good for the price. The spaetzle was good, but unfortunately the loin was very tough. The schnitzel was also extremely thin and obviously pressed - so not very good quality.

We were in the restaurant with five people and were seated at a table of four due to the restaurant's occupancy. The waitresses were extremely courteous and friendly. After a larger table became available, we were offered the opportunity to move around. TOP. The food we ordered came very quickly and there was nothing wrong with the quality of the food. There's really nothing to complain about here. We'd love to come back.

We have been to Rothenburg several times and also to this restaurant. The food was always very good and the service was extremely friendly. Special requests were also responded to very accommodatingly. The prices don't differ significantly from comparable restaurants and we will certainly come back. My colleague and I were at the Goldener Lamm with 4 clients (cognitive/physically impaired). We had charming, very attentive service. We have special clients, every wish has been fulfilled. The service, the food and the prices were great for us. A huge compliment, we can't go everywhere with our clients due to special circumstances, but we will definitely come back here. Keep it up, more of you and it could get nicer.👍😊🫶

We went to the restaurant for lunch and were served incredibly well. The waitress was very child-friendly, had room for the stroller and warmed us up a drink for the baby without complaining. The food was delicious and the restaurant was beautifully renovated. Kindergarten with four typical dishes is available. Can only recommend it for families!

You don't necessarily have to go abroad, you'll get ripped off here too. After a bike ride we wanted to have a drink. Two cyclists, 0.4 liters each, for just under 10 euros. Statement from the waitress: We are in Rothenburg and you can ask for whatever you want. It's sad that we have to experience something like that here in Franconia. No wonder the catering industry is getting worse and worse. 👎👎👎

This review will not bother the store at all as it is a typical tourist rip off store! The waitresses were friendly, but that was it! We had 2 small children with us and the people at the table to the left and right of us ordered after us and were almost finished with our food when ours came after half an eternity! The roast pork was completely unseasoned, the sauce tasted like absolutely nothing, just like the dumplings... the red cabbage didn't taste good at all either and the whole thing for almost €18 (!!), juice spritzer €4.80! To be honest: We wouldn't eat there again, even for free! Be sure to eat somewhere else, the chance that the food will taste better and be cheaper is about 100%. If the chef learned his trade (which I doubt), he is a disgrace to his profession. Very sad that our excellent Franconian food is presented to foreign tourists in such poor quality. Shame on you!!!

Everything is totally ok, especially when you consider that you are sitting DIRECTLY on the main square in Rothenburg. Gladly again at any time! Small addendum: Cash payment is currently only possible, although the card symbols are visible on the entrance door.

I can only agree with the bad restaurant reviews. The food is loveless, based on the motto "the stupid tourist only comes once"! My spaetzle tasted watery, the meat and sauce had no taste whatsoever. My son's sausages were also watery and the fried potatoes made you wonder whether they had even seen a pan. I always thought that anyone could fry fried potatoes and that the chef should perhaps take an instructive course. I heard afterwards from a Rothenburger that the local residents avoid this restaurant. A shame for this beautiful city, tourist rip-off. The next evening we went to the silver jug, where the food was excellent and even cheaper. I'm really willing to pay more for good food, but this restaurant has inflated prices for incredibly bad food. Absolutely not recommended!!!!!!!!!!

I understand a lot and can understand a lot. Not this! Payment with card not possible because supposedly “no network” available at the moment. We had paid by card in the neighboring restaurant 10 minutes earlier. All the cards were also pictured on the door. The card reader was ready for use next to the cash register. Been online at the same time with mobile communications Telekom and o2. One could have at least been so honest and said that this was not welcome! So we moved on and had dinner somewhere else. PS: It's not a hotel, there are no rooms! (Also verbal request)

Delicious food, nothing to complain about!

We have been to the Goldener Lamm several times now and are still thrilled. The location in the middle of the old town could hardly be better. The service is always courteous and friendly and the food is always delicious. Last time I had the knuckle with dumplings and sauerkraut, while my wife had the pork fillet with the pepper cream sauce. We can only recommend both - we would love to come back!!!

We have never eaten such a bad roast pork that was riddled with fat. The red cabbage was sour like sauerkraut and the sauce was a mixture of water and fat without any spices

The pizza schnitzel was very good and the fries were also okay, but there was ketchup and mayonnaise in these small bags, which absolutely didn't fit the time and didn't seem necessary given the number of meals (one star deducted). Otherwise, the restaurant has a great atmosphere and the service was friendly and quick. We'd love to come back.

Unfortunately, we didn't have a lot of choice in Rothenburg because some other restaurants were closed and had to go on vacation. The food was okay, not great. On our trip to Franconia and Bavaria we were able to try completely different things, sometimes even cheaper. The cordon bleu was nothing special and neither was the red cabbage/red cabbage with the roast pork. We were a little disappointed. It's a shame, it was supposed to be our farewell evening.

The location couldn't be better! The food was decent, the prices were rather high depending on the location. But the fact that we were served in English was more than strange. Where is the German-speaking staff? The atmosphere and service seemed rather cold.
