The food was absolutely delicious – prepared with great care, fresh, and simply top-notch in flavor. I'd especially like to highlight the wonderful service: warm, attentive, and always with a smile. You can tell that they work with passion and that the guest is their top priority. The atmosphere was pleasant and inviting, making you feel right at home. I will definitely be back.

A very positive experience! There were four of us eating there. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We ordered four different dishes, and everything arrived at the same time without a long wait. The food was very good, hot, and plentiful. I'd especially like to highlight the Schäufele (pork shoulder) – perfect crackling and incredibly tender meat. Payment was cash only, which we were politely informed of at the beginning. Without a doubt – we'll definitely be back!

We spent a weekend in Rothenburg ob der Tauber and ate there twice: once roast pork with bread dumplings, and twice with shoulder of pork. One of the best meals we've had recently. It tasted excellent. The service was also very friendly and attentive. If you want to eat really well, go to the Golden Lamb on the market square.

Enjoy authentic German food and drinks. The food was delicious. This was my first time trying Radler, and it was absolutely delicious. Radler The word Radler comes from the German word for "cyclist" (Radfahrer), and it was created in the 1920s as a refreshing drink for bicycle travelers. Its low alcohol content makes it perfect for quenching your thirst on a hot day. In some regions, carbonated lemon soda (Zitronenlimonade) is used instead of lemonade.

Very good and attentive service, and the Franconian specialties, like Schäufele (pork shoulder) and Haxe (roast pork knuckle), were simply outstanding. My only minor criticism is that the schnapps isn't from the beautiful Franconian region. I was very satisfied 😀

Unfortunately, we read the negative reviews too late. The roast pork itself was okay. Not a revelation, but okay. The sauce was so weak, and the dumplings hadn't even seen any salt water. We were in Rothenburg on our way back from Italy and stayed overnight nearby. While walking through town, we found the Goldenes Lamm right on the market square and decided to give this "hot spot" a try. We had Schäufele (shoulder of pork) and Zwiebelrostbraten (onion roast beef), and it was simply delicious. The sauces that accompanied the dishes were simply delicious, and the meat was tender, simply delicious. The other dishes that passed us by also looked delicious and well-presented. The staff is truly attentive and extremely friendly. We're very happy we found it.

This is the first time in Germany where I have been greeted in a restaurant with “we only accept cash” instead of “welcome” or “how are you”. Does the German tax authority know about this???

Had a great meal here. We hadn’t made a reservation but they managed to squeeze us in. Service was excellent and our waitress was very helpful. Meals were promptly delivered, large servings and pork was cooked perfectly and very tender. Prices were very reasonable.

This is where we ate and relaxed during our trip to Rothenburg. The place is spacious, quiet, and pleasant. The service is friendly and prompt. My son and I both ate meat and enjoyed it. He also found his favorite soup here and enjoyed it. I really enjoyed the local wine I drank. The prices are a bit high, but the portions are very adequate.

I highly recommend the roasted onion with spaetzle. They were the best homemade spaetzle I've ever eaten, and the beef steak was perfect—slightly rare, tender, and juicy, top-notch! 👍

The restaurant is located directly on the market square. It's very busy, and you sometimes have to wait for a table, but that's perfectly fine. The service was very friendly and helpful. Our food was okay—nothing wrong with it, freshly prepared, and certainly a healthier alternative. However, the taste didn't blow us away and was more of a healthy average. The thing that really soured the visit was the lack of service. We didn't feel welcome and had the impression that our presence was a nuisance. The staff wasn't unfriendly in the traditional sense, but they were definitely not service-oriented or helpful.

We're totally shocked and feel ripped off. Not only did we wait forever for absolutely bland, tasteless food, but it was completely random who got their food when. People who came after us got their food easily 20 minutes before us! And as if that wasn't enough, we were charged even more when paying than stated on the menu! Plus, you can't pay with a card! Absolutely a disgrace and never again!! Stay away from this place.

Unfortunately, we were absolutely not impressed with this restaurant. First, the food: We waited forever! From the time we ordered until the food finally arrived, it took almost an hour. Even though we arrived early and ordered earlier, other tables that came after us received their food long before us! We were simply ignored and passed over! And this despite there being hardly any customers. Completely unacceptable. The service was correspondingly poor. Unfriendly, disinterested, and we felt like we were a nuisance. But the worst part came at the end: We were clearly cheated on the bill! They simply tried to charge us more. This isn't an accident, it's brazen! We feel absolutely ripped off!

The food was excellent. The schnitzel and cordon bleu were oversized, with fries and sauce. No vegetables. The salad was tasty, but the beef was overcooked. The only vegetarian option was delicious: a pancake with vegetables and cheese and a fresh salad. We needed some time to decide what we wanted to eat and whether we wanted to stay, as there was only one vegetarian option. We had a hard time finding a place. The woman who helped us didn't understand us, or is naturally less flexible, but she wasn't friendly for the rest of the dinner, but obligatory politeness with an angry expression. The other waiters were very friendly. You have to pay in cash, but the bank is across the street. The outdoor terrace was pleasant.

This review regards the restaurant only: food and wine is quite average as for Polish standards (Polish cuisine is a hybrid of Slavic and German), but at the same time, due to the restaurant's prime location, it's overpriced. Overall, nothing special and not really worth it.

Went here to eat. Food is reasonably priced given its location near the main square. Food was okay to good, I recommend getting the meat loaf with side of potatoes since that was the most tasteful- better to skip the potato balls since they don’t have much flavor 😶 Potato balls genuinely surprised me— never encountered food that actually had 0 flavor. I don’t know if that’s what the Germans intended. But, overall, good choice to eat if you really want to eat at the main square 🥔

Looked cozy but was a bit tame. Simple menu. Got an okay beef soup (broth) with a crumble of leek and strips of pancake. A bit of a funny mix, but tasted okay. Afterwards fried ravioli-like rolls with scrambled eggs and salad. The salad had a somewhat sour pink dressing on it. My wife got trout with potatoes, but no sauce or just butter for the potatoes. Trout was good, but the side dishes were boring. Service was quick, too quick. Okay, but not worth the price

We ate here last Saturday at a company outing and it was very good. It went very quickly and everyone received their pre-ordered dish very quickly. Very friendly staff and the food tastes good. The prices were no higher than in other restaurants in the city.

Way too expensive for the amount of food! The schnitzel is very thin and unfortunately there isn't even a salad with it. The restaurant itself is beautifully and comfortably designed. It's also very clean. Unfortunately I don't think it's recommended.

The location of the place was really good, good spot to take a drink, we ordered a sausage and fries but for my personal opinion I really don't like it. I went to this place in Ocotber the weather was starting ti get a bit cold and they keep it really warm with heater in the chairs.

Wie das Lokal von einigen mit 5 Punkten bewertet werden ist uns ein Rätsel. Der Service war das beste im Lokal. Die Möbel im Lokal abgeranzt und fleckig. Die Schnitzel waren alles aber nicht frisch zubereitet, eher Tiefkühlkost 😩 Ein Glas Rose 0,2l für 8,60 € ist eine Frechheit. Der zweite Punkt ist nur weil das Personal recht freundlich war

We were there for lunch at lunchtime today. The service was very friendly. Everything seemed very comfortable. The taste of the food was very mixed for the price. But what I found much worse was the juice spritzer for 4.80 euros from Gut und Günstig. Just like the totally overpriced iced tea on offer, it's also good and cheap. The bottles were open at the counter so you could see them. The toilets were dirty, it didn't seem like fresh dirt. We will no longer visit or recommend this restaurant. Card payment also not possible.

My family and I celebrated Christmas in Rothenburg and we had our wonderful Christmas feast at the Goldenes Lamm! This was one of the best decisions we ever made because this restaurant was the best in Rothenburg! We have been to this lovely town twice already and our meals at Goldenes Lamm have been the highlight each time. The staff are warm and welcoming, the ambience is on point and the food is absolutely delicious!! I had the steak done medium rare and I still dream of this mouth-watering meal often! The staff speak perfect English and they accommodated every single weird culinary request my family made. Words cannot express how excited I am to return!! Thank you so much for a wonderful Christmas <3

We had lunch here today for lunch, two adults and two small children (5 years and 7 months old) and it was just great! The restaurant itself is very cozy and you immediately feel at home. The service was so friendly and accommodating and, above all, child-oriented. The food was very tasty, fresh and beautifully presented. We'd love to come back when we get the chance!
