Ein absolut fabelhaftes fränkisches Abendessen mit weißem Spargel und Kartoffeln, Schweinebraten mit Kartoffelknödeln und dem besten Apfelstrudel, den ich je gegessen habe (!!), dazu ein lokales Bier. Eines der besten Essen in Deutschland. Vielen Dank an das Restaurantteam, das unseren Abend so genussvoll und unvergesslich gemacht hat … Nigel und Iryna xx

Das Essen war köstlich. Wir bestellten Ravioli und Schweinelende. Die Portionen waren großzügig. Der Preis war für die Menge und Qualität des Essens angemessen.

Sehr gutes Essen! Es hat einfach alles gestimmt! Kinder haben auch alles aufgegessen.

Wir haben nicht im Hotel übernachtet, sondern im Restaurant zu Mittag gegessen. Das Essen war gut, die Portionen reichlich. Typische fränkische Küche.

Aufgrund der Vita des Chefkochs sowie als Gäste des Hotels mit wahrscheinlich zu hohen Erwartungen das Restaurant abends besucht. Neber zwei besetzten Tischen im Schankraum nahmen wir im nebenan im Anbau Platz. 2 bis 3 Grad mehr Raumtemperatur wären top gewesen, später kommende Gäste saßen im Mantel am Tisch. Zum den Gerichten selbst, die übrigens sehr schnell nach der Bestellung serviert wurden, der Sauerbraten mit Rotkohl, zwei fränkischen Knödeln und Lebkuchensauce okay, Fleisch recht zart, Knödel richtig gut, die Sauce hat leider den Geschmack nicht getroffen. Knackpunkt waren die Maultaschen mit Beilagensalat, viel zu lange in der Pfanne gebacken, dadurch seitlich aufgeplatzt, die Füllung von der Konsistenz her spitze, geschmacklich mit Leberaromen nicht meines. Der Beilagensalat war leider verdorben, zumindestens ein Blatt faul (siehe Foto) Sorry, sowas darf auch bei halbwegs gründlicher Arbeitsweise in der Küche nicht serviert werden.

Sehr nettes Lokal, leckeres Essen und absolut liebenswertes Personal - unbedingt zu empfehlen!

Waren heute das erste Mal da mit 4 Erwachsene und 3 Hunden. Die Hunde bekamen auf Anfrage sofort Wasser . Der Service war sehr aufmerksam. Das Essen war sehr lecker wir hatten Cordon Bleu selten so ein gutes gegessen. Kann man sehr empfehlen dort hin zu gehen.

Das Essen war köstlich und ich hatte den Eindruck, dass es mit großer Sorgfalt zubereitet wurde. Ich werde wiederkommen, wenn ich die Gelegenheit dazu habe. Die Spätzle waren köstlich, und das Sauerkraut als Beilage war noch köstlicher und beeindruckender!

Wouldn’t even seat us, for no apparent reason. They just told us to leave even though the restaurant was open and a few tables were already sat.

We visted the restaurant for dinner at a weekday evening in late August. Made reservation through email that's stated on the website. We ordered Cordon Bleu, Shnitzel, Frank style steaks and wursts - all food was great and everyone loved it. They don't have extensive lists of menus but all items stimulated our appetite. The restaurant is located at the west end of the town and was a bit calmer than the others, which made us feel more relaxed during the dinner. There were only one waiter handling all the orders, hence of course looked very busy, but he had good humors and entertained us. We'll definitely return here if we have a next chance to visit Rothenburg.

The food was excellent. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. The fact that there was only one server made him a bit stressed. Great value for money. I'd be happy to go back.

Love quality German food, well cooked and good presentation. Very nice ambiance, nice Furniture and decoration. A place where locals meet. Very easy to find and just around the Center of town.

Opening hours not correct. According to Google open for dinner 17.00h till 22.00h. But at 20.15h already closed. Not just the town is middle age, but also the opening hours..

A lovely restaurant, a bit out of the way and therefore quieter, yet still close to the city center. There's no complaints about the food. Everything was excellent, very tasty, a salad plate is included, and the value is also excellent.

I have eaten a ton of schnitzel in Germany for years. This restaurant had the very best I have ever had -- mine was filled with baerlauch (wild garlic). And the price was much lower than I anticipated. I was seated immediately because I arrived early, but the place filled quickly.

Nice Franconian-inspired restaurant with a small beer garden. Price performance was good. Funny, somewhat forgetful service. Still had a lot of fun. Thanks for that.

We came to Rothenburg ob der Tauber for a short vacation and chose the restaurant because it had good reviews on Google. Unfortunately we weren't satisfied. We had the roast pork with dumplings and coleslaw. The roast pork was a bit dry and the sauce was very thin. Dumplings and coleslaw were fine. However, we expected something different when rating the restaurant. Too bad.

The food was really delicious, we had onion roast and cheese spaetzle. The service was also very polite. The restaurant is recommended

Very good food (we had the cheese spaetzle and the sauerbraten) and good service. The beer is also very good (Weltenburger, Landwehr-Bräu, and Bayreuther), and the apple strudel is one of the best I've ever had. I'd go back anytime!

We had dinner there with 7 people at Christmas. Everyone was really excited. Super tasty and fast and friendly service despite the store being full.

Happy all around, The ambience is medieval and decorated with old German sayings and pine and muskets. The service is quick, extremely friendly and very attentive. The food was excellent and plentiful. All in all, highly recommended. We recommend making a reservation, as we were able to get a seat without a reservation, but all the other tables were already reserved. Nothing to complain about. PS: Dogs are also allowed.

Good selection of food and friendly service. You don't need anything more. The homemade Maultaschen are highly recommended. Maybe ask for some extra sauce on the side.

Went here for dinner with a group of four and had a fantastic experience. The waitress was extremely accommodating and answered all of our questions. The food was of a very high quality and delicious. We got the Argentinian marinated steak, the Wiener schnitzel, and the roasted pork shoulder and all were great. The atmosphere was very comfortable, nice music at a good volume, traditional cozy decorations, and nice temperature. We can highly recommend!

The food and service were excellent, as was the price-performance ratio. The Schäufele at the next table looked so good that I almost regretted ordering a cordon bleu, but that wasn't necessary. Both as well as the onion roast for my husband were very good 👍

We were there with a group of >20 people. The service was very friendly and competent. Drinks came quickly and correctly, the food also came quickly, hot was very tasty. The pumpkin soup and the Schäufele were particularly excellent! Great value for money. We'd love to come back!!

Really great food, big praise to the CHEF of the house! If you want good food, this is the place for you. If you could have gotten a smile from the waiter, the stay would have been perfect.

Was here specifically because of Schäufele and was thrilled!!! Meat very tender, crispy rind and dumplings a dream... Schnitzel Viennese style top... Service 1A, prices also top for the quality. So I would recommend it to anyone who is nearby or even worth an extra journey.

Not everyone can cook, otherwise everything is fine

Delicious food in a lovely place. Unfortunately, 2 people were not enough for all the tables, which of course also affects the waiting time and the service (for example seeing empty glasses or clearing tables). Nevertheless, the unfriendliness overshadows everything that can be expected at this level. Please and thank you were only possible with torture and the gentleman at the next table was literally attacked when he dared to ask about the drinks he had ordered after a good half hour. So we're definitely not coming back.

After our failure with the Old Cellar the day before, we were a little skeptical - and were pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent (Schäufele with a great crust, delicious dumplings and well-seasoned side dishes, great roast beef, delicious dessert), the service was attentive and friendly, the terrace was cozy - a clear recommendation if you want to eat delicious Franconian food in Rothenburg

As a Nuremberg resident you are spoiled. After 2 bad attempts in other well-rated restaurants in Rothenburg, finally a super crispy Schäufele. Very good other dishes that are seasoned differently than usual. Always my pleasure.

Nice outdoor space not far from the hustle and bustle of the city. Fast friendly service. Very good value for money. Mautlaschen, cheese spaetzle and cordon bleu, each with salad, were tasty and plentiful. Definitely highly recommended!

We come from an area where critical gourmets live. But here, in a "simple" restaurant, the Schäufele was prepared in such a magnifique way that we were totally surprised. Keep it up ! Recommended!

Fantastic dinner with our family here. Everything tasted amazing. You could see how hard the staff was working. They were kind and anytime we asked for something they immediately brought it for us. Absolutely delicious. Great environment, would recommend.

The room in which the two of us sat with our dog was "newly" renovated and furnished. We thought that was very good. The service was very accommodating and super nice. We had a very nice evening. Our dog also felt very comfortable. Recommendation.

Were there two weeks ago. The schnitzel was very good and the salad with it was also delicious. Is a nice cozy restaurant with reasonable prices.

Die Speisen war okay. Vier von vier Personen fanden das Essen jedoch zu fad. Schnitzel werden frisch zubereitet und schmeckte gut. Das Personal wirkte genervt. Jeder kann aber mal einen schlechten Tag haben. Das Ambiente war schön, der Gastraum war ansprechend gestaltet.

Restaurant that belong to the hotel and that is preparing regional German (Franc) cuisine. The place is quite busy, so it is really hard to get the table. We suggest to make a reservation, otherwise you can leave with empty stomach. It was quite avarege home food that was good but not that it would dazzle us. Soup was good, nice broth, but the celestine noodles were hard. My roast pork with potato dumplings was good, the meat was falling apart and the sauce was strong in flavor. On the other hand, the beef ragout that my wife had was very bland. The wines were very tasty. An interesting experience, but not that we would go here again.

¡Hemos comido de maravilla! Es un sitio super bonito, tienen una terraza muy agradable y la comida estaba buenísima. Además la atención por parte de los camareros ha sido estupenda, nos ha encantado el sitio.

Ein Restaurant gegenüber eines ehemaligen Klosters, unweit der Stadtmauer. Die Preise sind hier zum erstaunen recht gut. Die Speisekarte ist gut überschaubar mit regionalen Essen. Wenn möglich sollte man vorher Plätze bestellen.

Personal sehr freundlich und bemüht. Größe der Speisen mehr als ausreichend. Geschmacklich durchschnittliche Hausmannskost, weswegen es für den 5 Stern nicht gereicht hat. Aber durchaus Besuchbar.

Klare Empfehlung. Sehr gute regionale Küche. Frisch zubereitet mit ebenso frischen Zutaten. Preis /Leistung absolut fair. Der Service ist freundlich und auf "zack". Wir (4 Personen) waren alle völlig zufrieden. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Besonderheit: Der Chefkoch Christian Neumann kennt sich mit glutenfreier Ernährung bei Zölliakie aus. Auf Vorbestellung gibt es hervorragende glutenfreie Speisen. Die Verarbeitung erfolgt so gewissenhaft, das Kreuzkonterminationen sehr unwahrscheinlich sind. Unsere Tochter leidet an einer sehr schweren Zölliakie und hat vollstes Vertrauen in die Küche von Herrn Neumann.
