A very beautiful place inside the castle..

Unfortunately, we couldn't understand the very positive reviews. The gravy was OK in taste, but a bit alternative (less of a Bavarian style). Unfortunately, the red cabbage was hard and at most lukewarm, as if it had been warmed straight from the jar. Prices were absolutely fair and service was good

Best German food in ALL of Germany. Steven, the owner, is also the Chef, Host and Waiter. Food is amazing, ambience is as cute as it gets. Don't let the fact that it is on a side street fool you. Only keeps the crowd down

A small, quaint restaurant a little away from the hustle and bustle of the old town. With a great ambience and fantastic food. The knuckle practically slipped off the bone on the plate, a dream. The other dishes were also very tasty and can be recommended without reservation. Our child preferred spaetzle with his nuggets, which was also possible without any problems and the host even asked again whether the spaetzle should have sauce or parsley.

A great little restaurant in a nice little side street with a really nice name, I think🥰 Inside it was nice and warm and really cozy decorated for Christmas, the building seemed to have been renovated not too long ago because everything was quite modern and new me. Jazzy music was playing in the background and I immediately felt really comfortable. The landlord greeted us very warmly and was a really nice and likeable older gentleman, the other two waitresses were still quite young and also very friendly and likeable. The food came pretty quickly and people asked about our well-being in between🥰 I ordered the potato pockets filled with cream cheese on a salad bouquet with tartar sauce, plus a shandy and the food and the shandy were very tasty. The potato pockets were really crispy on the outside and the salad was nice and crunchy with a great dressing😋 My friend had the butter spaetzle with goulash and he was also very satisfied, but for him the portion could have been a little larger. The prices were fair👍 The toilets were clean, but somehow it was very cold there😅 A very good restaurant, here you can definitely get good German cuisine in a nice and cozy environment✨

Absolutely beautiful tasty wholesome food we had the ham hock red cabbage gravy and potatoes and I can highly recommend The ambience was gorgeous and the owner so friendly and welcoming Very good value for money compared to other places

We received a very friendly welcome in the evening without a reservation, competent, unobtrusive, nice service, the food was delicious and the portions were large!

I don t usually put bad reviews, but in this case, this establishment deserves 2*. The attitude of the owner towards me was simply condescendent. He should put signs if he doesn t take credit card payments or we should be obliged to consume food.

This restaurant is located away from the tourist magnets. Home-style meals are served and the portions are generous. The landlord is very attentive and warm. Our children were served straight away and got their food super quickly. It's very comfortable to sit there. We'd love to come back.

Great restaurant. My fiancé ordered the Cordon Bleu and I ordered the falafel, which came with a salad, both very good.

Nice restaurant with a small menu. We were served very friendly by the innkeeper and we all enjoyed ourselves. The best cabbage roulade I have ever eaten and my husband also wrote a poem about the skewer, my son also really enjoyed it. There are a few tourist traps in Rothenburg, this restaurant is highly recommended.

We went in the place shortly after 1 and were told "sorry, they were closed for the midday pause".

Visited Rothenburg ob der Tauber and ate here in the evening before driving home. We didn't reserve a table, but we were there early in the evening (2 people). Everything was right, the food was very, very tasty, the service was friendly.

We were two of us and ordered pork trotters and creamy mushroom noodles. We originally wanted to order other things, but the boss told us honestly that it was too much. In the end, we ordered 2 dishes and couldn't finish them. Thank you to the boss for informing us. The food is really delicious. 😋

I can't forget the smoked sausages in Nuremberg, and I had the same thing here. A part-time job for young people? The employees work efficiently, and even the quiet employees are pleasant. The atmosphere in the courtyard was also nice.

Fell on this really nice place while wandering around the town. Very good welcome and great service. The food was great we had the pork goulash and cordon blue with mushroom sauce. Both great and generous portions. Off the main tourist streets but we'll worth seeking out.

Delicious schweinshaxe and my friend had a large chicken skewer. Smooth service and a real Stube atmosphere, but lighting could be a little more atmospheric.

Fantastic meat skewers. We had grilled chicken and lamb…tender and perfectly cooked. Both came with delicious veggies and fries. This place doesn’t take reservations so come early to avoid disappointment!

We ate the smoked trout with potato salad. Absolutely great, rarely eaten such good trout. Very friendly staff 👍

Top pork knuckle, the crust could hardly be crispier. The price-performance ratio is definitely right here. The restaurant is also a bit away from the tourist crowds, which makes for a nice break.

We were at the Silberne Kanne on a Friday at lunchtime and had reserved a table in the garden. There was a quiet, relaxed atmosphere and the landlord was very friendly and attentive. Okay, not all the tables and chairs fit together and there is still some room for improvement when it comes to the decoration in the beer garden. But the pork knuckles and pork fillet skewers tasted excellent and were attractively presented on the plate. The portions were generous and the prices were reasonable. A clear recommendation! If we come back to Rothenburg we will stop here again! Keep it up!

What a lucky find. We stopped in Rothenburg ODT and found this gem. Rothenburg itself is incredibly charming. If you want historic Germany, Rothenberg is the place. From what I understand this is the town that inspired the movie Pinocchio. From what I can tell, it most likely was. This particular restaurant resulted in one of the best conversations that my wife and I have ever had with our five year year-old and six-year-old, maybe it was atmosphere, maybe it was just Chance, but it definitely made it incredibly memorable. The food was fantastic. My wife had the chicken skewers. I had the pork skewers and the kids of course had chicken nuggets. The owner of the restaurant was very friendly and accommodating with the children. When I offered to do a 15% tip, he declined and said no that’s too much. WOW 🤯 I don’t think that’s ever happened to me in the States. All in all we loved it.

Yesterday we ate very well in the somewhat hidden but very worthwhile beer garden. Cheese spaetzle and trout, as well as cordon bleau are highly recommended! Sitting comfortably in the courtyard. Any time!!!

Very disappointed with the food quality after having ordered the Schweinehaxe. It was too dry and tasted pre-cooked and just warmed up. Sauerkraut that came with tasted and looked like it was prepared many days ago. The Knödels were tasteless. The sauce was poor in taste.

I asked by phone whether there were still places available. A woman answered quite briskly that we should come over because she didn't know what it looked like outside. I think it's pretty cheeky to expect guests to find their way instead of looking for themselves. When we arrived it was clear that everything was reserved.

Absolutely fabulous! We happened upon this restaurant (family of 6, parents and 4 kids ages 16-23) and everyone enjoyed it immensely! We had the Pork hock, 3 different types of skewers (one was shared by 2 youngest), and the Cordon Blue in cream sauce. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted great. The local wheat beer was very smooth, and the fried apple slices with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream was a great way to finish the meal. The staff was great (I believe it was the owner and his family), and very attentive and helpful with the menu.

Eher durch Zufall sind wir den etwas versteckt liegende Biergarten gestoßen. Wir waren kurz nach Öffnung da und das Lokal war schon gut besucht. Der Empfang war sehr freundlich und zugewandt. Unsere Bestellung wurde sofort aufgenommen und die Getränke kamen sehr schnell. Die Speisekarte enthält neben Standards auch seltene Gerichte. Die Gurken-Dill-Kaltschale war sehr lecker und erfrischend. Danach hatte ich den klassischen Schaschlik Spieß mit Schweinelende. Der Spieß war kross gegrillt und zudem lecker gewürzt. Die (echten) Pommes waren knusprig. Der Salat mit Forellenfilet war ebenfalls sehr lecker und frisch. Wie kommen gerne wieder.

The price is reasonable and only cash is accepted. The pork trotters are crispy and juicy and really delicious. The two beers I ordered were both smooth and delicious. The inside of the restaurant is very stuffy. I visited on 6/30 and it was still hot even when I sat in the window seat with the window open. It’s hard to imagine how many people will be able to sit and dine indoors when the real summer comes.

The food is great. The service personnel however was awkward, has this unwelcoming energy. When we needed to change the table because I was surrounded by wasps, he became a little defensive and sarcastic about it. I was stung by a wasp before, I simply hate them, he wanted to start lecturing me on how “things are different here” which was a little rude to say. While for other tables he simply placed this little fan that drives away flying insects. So we found this odd. You know it’s an issue and you have the solution but you chose to undermine my legit concern! I enjoyed my homemade smoked fish though. It was cooked to perfection.

Supposedly "beer garden" but you can't drink a beer, you HAVE to eat there. impudence. Without further ado, said “tchao” and ran away. So friendly too.

We ate shish kebab. The vegetables on the skewer were burnt.

We sat in the courtyard in the beer garden. Very nice and quiet if you need a quick break from the many tourists. The food was very tasty and served a little differently. I had goulash with spaetzle. Served in an oblong bowl. Good idea. The meat skewers also looked very good. The innkeeper was very friendly.

I found this shop by chance, but I had a very meaningful time there. The beer garden is a very cute and cozy place. Since I couldn't eat a lot, I ordered just one dish of spergel and smoked salmon. We shared a beer and wine. The food was very delicious and the drinks were delicious. The smoked salmon was a little cold, but the atmosphere was nice and the deliciousness of the spergel was so good that I didn't mind. The clerk seemed to be busy by himself, but he was attentive to us, even though he was busy. I would like to visit again.

Wonderfully peaceful and friendly Biergarten and restaurant on a quiet side street. We both got Cordonbleu and a Helles. The Cordonbleu was outstanding - juicy, perfectly breaded, and with just enough gooey cheese. We talked to the waiter as we were leaving, and it turned out he was the cook too! The man can do it all. Complements to this chef and his excellent establishment. Word on the street is he's looking for waitstaff so he can go back to just cooking. I hope he finds someone because visitors to Rothenburg ob der Tauber need to have the opportunity to visit a place like this to have the real Cordonbleu and Pommes he makes. Don't skip dining at this place when you're in Rothenburg :)

Cozy inn with delicious food and large portions. For vegetarians the choice is somewhat limited, but according to our companions the meat skewers are very good.

I had trout with potato salad. Both were an absolute delight! The trout was completely fresh, tender and perfectly cooked. The potato salad was warm, with spring onions and herbs, nice dressing. The elderflower spritzer (homemade) was also great! I come here often, the service is very friendly and people still cook with passion.

Really delicious selection of all the best traditional German food and their own smoked fish salad. Grilled meat and veggies on a skewer. Excellently prepared and very good portions. Nice little beer garten in the back. They're cleverly hidden on a side street but well worth finding.

Highly Recommended! Very nice staff. And the meat skewer (pork fillet) with fries was very, very tasty. The meat was on point and well seasoned. Someone should do that first. The cellar beer was also good. I want it in “my” city! Keep it up! I hope I can come back again.

Wonderful restaurant with perfect service. Excellent option for gluten intolerant because the owner makes all the meals himself and patiently explains which meals one can eat. Best asparagus I had ever!

A cozy outdoor dining spot, a little hidden but nice! Very nice staff!! Among other things, 2 young people served us - VERY NICE and courteous!!!(stay like that!💗💗👌) The knuckle was perfect, as were the potato dumplings with sauce. Red cabbage was too "firm/dry" and too sour for me, like it came from a ready-made jar... So it wasn't quite a well-rounded dish for me, but still 4☆! The pork skewer was all good, just a little too dry. Fries as a side dish were good.

Found it by chance while strolling through town on a side street and reserved a table for the evening. Cozy little restaurant, there were three of us and we got a great table by the window. The staff was very friendly, warm and we immediately felt at home. Delicious beer and extremely tasty dishes. We had cheese pätzle, cordon bleu and pork knuckle. All dishes were very plentiful and really delicious. Together with the great and warm service, it was an absolutely successful evening. My extra sauce that I ordered wasn't even charged. We can only fully recommend the restaurant. Thank you for the lovely evening, we will definitely be back!

Meager menu with the simplest hearty dishes, the food was not freshly prepared, but warmed up and was still cold inside. The knuckle tasted old and rotten. The dumplings were out of the package.
