We had lentil stew and spaetzel. It was fantastic! I know it's not saying much as an American, but it was the best spaetzel I have ever had.

This restaurant left the best impressions. pleasant atmosphere, simple interior, friendly waiter, delicious food. The menu is simple, but the food is tasty and satisfying. The prices are not high for a tourist city. There are vegetarian dishes, for example, I ate potato pancakes with mushroom sauce and parmesan! It was very tasty! We also liked the Franconian wine. The restaurant is located in an alley next to one of the central streets.

We entered the restaurant and were immediately greeted rudely and rudely. We had reserved a table and were shown to it. We each ordered a dish and several drinks, and the waitress immediately started complaining, saying she had to ask the owner if our order was sufficient. Five minutes later, the owner came and complained that we hadn't ordered enough, lamenting that he had to finance his restaurant somehow and accusing us of only coming to warm up. We asked why he was so upset and what his problem was. He said we hadn't ordered enough, but instead of politely pointing it out, he yelled at us. We then asked if he would like us to order more, but he refused. This made us feel pressured, so we ordered another dish. The owner and staff behaved completely unprofessionally. Furthermore, the food was awful, and the order was entirely wrong. I am very disappointed with this restaurant and would never return.

The meat was tender and very easy to eat. The sauce also went really well with it. The pork knuckle was a disappointment. I've eaten many, many better pork knuckles in many different restaurants in Germany. The meat was far too dry and the crackling was just so-so. The dumpling, however, was very tasty and seemed to be homemade. Perhaps I just got unlucky with the pork knuckle, I don't know, but I can't give it 5 stars. The service and ambiance were fine, nothing special, just okay. The price wasn't particularly high either, which I appreciated. Rothenburg can be expensive.

We dined in the beer garden: our table was under a poorly maintained awning. The pork shank was well done with crispy rind, exactly what you'd expect in a beer garden. There's also a small selection for non-meat eaters. Service was average.

Two years ago, we visited Rothenburg for the first time, and also at the Silber Kanne. And we were just as enthusiastic again. Despite our short stay, we ate at the Silber Kanne three times. We were always greeted and looked after in a very friendly and warm manner. No matter who served us, the service was excellent. The food was all delicious. Tonight's crowning glory was the half duck, a new addition to the menu. A very cozy, family-run restaurant; you immediately feel at home here. Sausage, sauerkraut, and mashed potatoes. I was amazed at the authentic German taste. The portion was a little too much for me, but since I ordered on an empty stomach, dessert arrived. Apple pie with a strong cinnamon flavor and ice cream. The pie was eaten with unsweetened cream. This was also a lot for me, but it was incredibly delicious. The two female staff were cute, and the restaurant had a nice, relaxed atmosphere with quiet music playing.

The restaurant is located near the old town but on a quiet side street. The portions are large and delicious. There's no children's menu. Unfortunately, we went on a bad day for a young girl who was completely out of control. Regardless, I highly recommend both the place and the food.

Let me put it this way: The food was delicious, the fish very fresh, but the service was a bit too demanding. I think the waitresses were a bit unfriendly. When we asked if we could swap potatoes for salad, they immediately replied, "Unfortunately, that's not possible." I find that a bit off-putting. Additionally, card payments aren't possible in a tourist town just because it was a Saturday. Not everyone carries a lot of money. I live in 2025, and I think it's normal for a tourist restaurant to accept card payments for orders over €40.

At least the chef personally came to the table and started a conversation – that was positive. Nevertheless, the impression remains that more emphasis is placed on efficiency than authenticity. The supposedly homemade sauerkraut was okay, but also not a highlight – and it raises the question of whether the white cabbage was actually fermented in-house or simply cooked from ready-made sauerkraut. I find it particularly unfortunate for foreign guests who want to experience German cuisine here—only to be fobbed off with careless, ready-made products. As a German, I almost have to apologize. The star rating for this restaurant is completely incomprehensible to me.

Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable evening; I'd be happy to return!

We sat in the back of the beer garden with our dog. It's located on a side street, it's a great place to escape the crowds! Food highly recommended, service also great.

The Gordonbleu including potatoes were tasteless, dry, bland. The pork goulash with spaetzle was the same disaster. We cannot explain how all the positive reviews come about. Therefore, there will not be another one.

An absolute insider tip – simply fantastic! Four of us went to the Zur Silbernen Kanne restaurant and we were all absolutely thrilled. The meal was a real treat - my friends had the lamb skewer and the chicken skewer, both of which were wonderfully seasoned and grilled to perfection. I had the napkin dumplings myself - wonderfully fluffy, perfectly seasoned and simply delicious. My friend had the pork knuckle with dumplings and sauerkraut and was also really impressed - crispy on the outside, tender on the inside and with a great sauce. You can simply taste that a lot of things are homemade here with love - the quality of the ingredients and the authentic taste speak for themselves. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive and warm - you immediately feel welcome here. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, just right for a nice evening with friends or family.

Unfriendly, unmotivated, failed as a host. We wanted to eat outside in the sun for lunch. We were greeted by a young girl and asked for a table for 2, unfortunately we weren't allowed to sit at any of the free tables in the sun as they are designed for 4 people. All the tables for two were in the shade on the side. When we asked if we could sit down as a couple at one of the sunny tables, we immediately said no and rudely rejected it. Remember, it was already 1:00 p.m., all tables except one were empty, and there was no reservation sign anywhere. I can't say anything about the food, we left again...

Unfortunately, I cannot agree with the quite positive reports. Unfortunately, the cordon blue was quite greasy and still tough, and the fries weren't really tasty either. Even a salad garnish wouldn't have hurt the look. Too expensive for chip shop quality. Maybe the chef didn't have the best day...
