Siamo andati nel pomeriggio per prenotare un tavolo per la serata e la responsabile ha detto che non facevano più prenotazioni (da premettere che alcuni tavoli avevano il biglietto riservato). Ritorniamo dopo un oretta, tavoli tutti pieni e la cameriera ci invita ad accomodarci fuori ed aspettare l'uscita di qualche cliente e tavolo libero. Alla fine riusciamo a sederci e ordiniamo.....Stinco di maiale finito...la cameriera ci consiglia un'altro piatto sempre a base di maiale. Purtroppo non era quello meglio riuscito: carne un po secca e crauti lasciati tutti nel piatto. Mi aspettavo qualcosina di meglio.....

Wer gut Essen möchte, muss unbedingt hier hin. Alles ist frisch und Hausgemacht. Ich hatte Geschnetzeltes mit selbstgemachten Späzle...es war ein Traum. Schön finde ich, die Kinderkarten, hier fehlten mir jedoch paar Stifte, also entweder selbst mitnehmen oder vtl besorgt der Inhaber welche :) Das Lokal ist gut besucht, was ich bei der guten Küche verstehen kann. Vielen Dank

The Schäufele was good and very hot. Unfortunately the crust wasn't good, it stuck to your teeth. However, in general you can't expect much in the high sessong.

The food was absolutely gorgeous. Great value for money and amazing service! Our waitress was especially helpful and kind. Definitely would recommend to anyone visiting Rothenburg.

We were probably just unlucky. The starter was ok (lard bread, salad), but the main course was unfortunately a disaster. The Schäufele advertised came without a crust - and after putting it under the salamander again, it was burnt and inedible. “I could choose something else from the many delicious things on the menu.” Unfortunately, the look at the plates of my companions said something different. Pale schnitzel and soggy fries... I lost my appetite. Unfortunately, the service wasn't very professional either... so you won't be seeing us here again any time soon. But as I said, probably just bad luck 😉

No reservation but still able to grab a table after about 10-15min waiting outside. Great service and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We shared the table with other couple as the restaurant was fully booked but we didn't mind that at all. Cute atmosphere and most importantly, really delicious food! Absolutely recommend 👍👍

Restaurant rating: great food. We had the children's schnitzel and various steaks. Everything was perfect (and we are spoiled for steaks) and prepared in a timely manner. Service was great. For dessert we can recommend the apple strudel with ice cream. The best meal in Rothenburg so far!

We stayed here for two nights and had dinner here. Everything was good. The accommodation was good, the room was good, the bathroom was good, the restaurant was good for dinner (with a reservation). The only drawback was the Wi-Fi in the room, which was almost There is no way to use it!

The restaurant is really good and can only be recommended. In most restaurants you can now get frozen, industrially produced products and only rarely home-made dishes. Here they still attach great importance to the quality and homemade preparation of the food. Here you get home-style food in a rustic atmosphere. The staff is friendly and quick. Considering the service offered, the prices are absolutely reasonable.

Were lucky to get the last table for dinner. Had to share the table with another man, but didn’t mind. It is not easy to find a place where you can eat late in Rothenburg. The service was great, the food was very very tasty and the interior of the restaurant is very cozy.

I visited the restaurant and ordered the famous German roasted pork shoulder. It is very yammee with local beer. The portion is large, even for me, who is from Texas. Highly recommended.

You may have noticed me on your last visit. :) As the hospitality industry gets tough, I need to speak up for my restaurant to my guests and future guests. We are one of the smallest hotels & restaurants in the heart of Rothenburg ob der Tauber, we all do our best and work with passion. We are all trained professionals. Each meal is freshly prepared by our chef and owner Markus. Every guest is warmly welcomed by Miriam, his wife and owner, who works in the restaurant and hotel. Both work 24/7. Due to Corona, many hotels and restaurants have lost their staff, closed their kitchens and no longer serve meals. The side effects are that not every guest who will have a hotel room for the night will also find a place for dinner. The calculation doesn't add up. We've had a lot of frustrated potential guests lately who we had to turn away because we were fully booked. As well as telling us that they have been looking for a place in the city in the evening for a long time. However, if you don't reserve a table, you will be rejected everywhere and have only booked a bed & breakfast hotel yourself. Please note that we try to accommodate as many guests as possible, but we have limited space, places and time. Since we only have 13 tables in the restaurant, we are quickly booked out. In order to find you a way out of this stressful situation and to satisfy your desire for a warm meal after a long day of hiking and sightseeing, we have our reservations in time windows from 17:30-19:30 and 19:30-22:00 clock changed. Our tables on the terrace in the summer are usually only kept on good luck for your spontaneous visits. If you are the lucky one we can accommodate even though we are fully booked. We ask you for a moment of calmness. We need 5-10 minutes to clear the table for you freely and cleanly. We have to plan our few staff carefully, and with limited regular working hours for our employees, we usually close our kitchen just after 8 pm. Due to the lack of staff and chefs, most other restaurants have to do the same and close their kitchens early. Most of my guests are stressed out on vacation and I really wonder why? I can understand that traveling is exhausting, but when you bring your stress with you and try to rush through your dinner, you have to deal with ruining it yourself. We are a small Bavarian-Franconian steak restaurant. The good ratings come from our guests who appreciate authentic German home cooking. We are not awarded by Michelin stars or similar classifications. We never said we were a high-end restaurant. We serve honest meals. Each guest has a different taste and expectation that we try to meet every day. As we are not a fast-food chain we try to be as quick as possible, but our staff is limited by two hands and two feet. On weekends and busy evenings, we expect you to bring some time when you enter our very busy restaurant. If you relax and take your time, your entire experience will be enjoyable. The last few weeks have been busy and exhausting. We had some "nice" experiences. I can understand that things are getting frustrated, but there's no reason to use me, and the rest of our staff, as your bad mood and stress outlet. Please remember we are all humans. The reviews on google are very good, so I came here because of its reputation. It looks like locals are dining there As soon as we entered the door, after informing several people, the busy waiter said wait a moment, and we were left aside for 5 minutes without being ignored. But he warmly greeted the Germans who arrived later than us and asked them to sit down first (maybe they had reservations?) After greeting them, they still ignored us. Feeling very bad 🤗

We spent two lovely days here. It is a beautiful old inn where we had a very good night's sleep and dinner. Great atmosphere in the old inn and very accommodating hosts. We will be back.

Probably the best jagerschnitzel I've ever had. And I've had jagerschnitzel all over this world. Perfect pork brown gravy. The interior decor is "old stuff nailed to the wall." I love it, reminds me of my mom's house. Please stop by and have a meal.

The interiors of the restaurant are stunning, the small details are making wonders. On our first visit we ordered a schnitzel and beef goulash, and both dishes were incredibly delicious. You can't find a better goulash in this city! On our second visit we ordered the soup of the day (potato soup) and a schnitzel, as we wanted something light to save some place for the desert - apple strudel. The soup was creamy and tasty, the schnitzel was great, and the strudel was simply heavenly! The prices are great for the location and quality.

In the middle of the old town, a good home-style German restaurant. Starting with the asparagus cream soup (5☆) Veal goulash with noodles, tender and juicy (5☆) My wife had Schäufele, also very tasty, especially the fries were great.

Cozy restaurant with delicious food and large portions. When we asked, we found out that 2 women do the counter and service alone and the boss cooks alone in the kitchen. Big compliment. Even though they offer €52 per hour, they can't find any help. Very sad

Did not stay as a hotel guest. In fact, we didn't even know it was a hotel. We did stop in for lunch, and it was very good.

I ordered Haksen + Schnitzel + Today's Soup (Asparagus). In the case of Haksen, the price was not very expensive, around 19 euros. It is served together with a potato dish that is expected to be made by grinding potatoes, mixing starch, and kneading it again like gnocchi. Haksen is crispy enough to feel hard on the outside, but very soft on the inside. There was a difference in taste that made it different from other Hakseon. In the case of schnitzel, I ordered an extra 2 euros to get a schnitzel with button mushrooms and brown sauce. In conclusion, it is safe to say that the main body is button mushrooms. The sauce and button mushrooms go well together and are good to eat with schnitzel. The level of satisfaction was higher than that of Haksen. Today's soup was quite salty. I don't really recommend it. In conclusion, I highly recommend Haksen and Schnitzel. The interior is also very antique and pretty. You are kind. The bathroom is also okay.

We stayed at the Alter Keller accommodations last week and it was incredible!!! Central location, clean rooms, and fabulous food. I was in contact with Miriam for a few months and she was so helpful. She booked the room and even came in on the off days to get us checked in. Last, but not least, the breakfast included is absolutely fabulous. By far the best breakfast we had in Germany.

Wow - I actually just wanted to reserve a table for 7 people for lunch... There was a table, but we should have been there at 12:00 and not 12:30?! Why ? Was then fobbed off quite harshly by a colleague and thrown out of the line. Not bad how potential guests are treated here! Actually not worth a star.

Nice, touristy restaurant in a nice, touristy town. Unfortunately the food is also touristy. Pork shoulder with ready-made sauce. Meat quality at the RIPE steak is rather so-so. Don't kid yourself. Here you get exactly what you want “tourist attractions!” the reviews are probably from people who think brown sauce is great.

Very nice and lovingly run hotel. The rooms are tastefully and comfortably furnished and nothing is missing. The breakfast left nothing to be desired. We also visited the in-house restaurant in the evening. Very good food, excellent service 👌 great ambience, very rustic, cozy and also a really great regulars' table. Showed Sunday evening at 6:30 with no reservation. They kindly found a way to seat us in 5 minutes even though every table was occupied. The atmosphere was lively and it was obviously a local favorite with families and large boisterous groups mingling comfortably! The service was excellent and friendly…even to us obviously out of place Americans! ;-) The lamb, goulash, and schnitzel were melt in your mouth good. I wish I was here more than one day!

This restaurant is NOT dog friendly. Went with my less than 10 lbs mini dachshund this evening and was asked if I had a blanket for my dog as people might be allergic. Not sure if I was expected to wrap her like a burrito?! I travelled 14 hours by plane- no blanket. Obviously, I love my doggo and decided to leave. We made reservations and this was not mentioned when I said I would be coming with my little dog. Other restaurants in Germany even have a dog bed at the table! This is not the usual German hospitality for dogs. I think the hair on my clothes would be just as bad as any hair she would shed. She is a smooth hair. Went to another restaurant where she was welcomed! She was a good girl and slept the whole time next to me. We had a great dinner elsewhere!! If you are travelling with your beautiful doggo- your family member- pick a different place!

A quaint restaurant in the beautiful town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Excellent food and very good service. Child friendly. Highly recommended as everything is really freshly prepared.

Great inn with a nice historical atmosphere. There aren't that many seats, so it's always best to reserve. But it is really nicely decorated, everything is clean and tidy. The large selection of steaks is particularly recommended. Meat lovers will get their money's worth here. The other dishes are also super delicious. From Franconian Schäufele, great schnitzel dishes and also fish dishes, there is something for everyone.

Hunter's schnitzel was fried in margarine. It was tasteless.

The beer tastes great. The portions are large and a bit salty for me. The waiters are friendly. The pasta is on the soft side. You can swipe cards and it is a store that locals go to, so there are many people.

A very cozy place, Rothenburg is packed with people at night, and it’s really hard to get a meal without a reservation. We ordered beef stew and fried pork chops, which tasted very good, authentic German cuisine. The French fries that came with it were also super delicious, and they also mixed their own Coke! By the way, we stayed on the second floor for one night. The house is more than 400 years old. It creaks when walking and the wooden boards are rickety. But they are very cute rooms, especially the toilets are all new. It was a very enjoyable night. ! Thank you 😊

War sehr lecker gewessen das Essen.

Taverna tipica tedesca, l'atmosfera e 'calda ed accogliente .La cameriera ci ha accolto con gentilezza e disponibilità,pur non parlando italiano e noi poco inglese siamo riusciti a farci capire. Abbiamo mangiato bene e abbondante e il conto è stato in linea con quello che abbiamo mangiato, per 4 persone abbiamo speso 100€ma compreso di antipasto, 4 boccali di birra grandi e 4 secondi. Lo consiglio

We just wanted something to drink, unfortunately we were sent away again because a table was only available if food was also ordered, even though almost all tables were free and it was not a rush hour. A bit of a shame since we are directly from the neighborhood.

Dieses ist ein entzückendes Hotel! Holztreppe (kein Lift), Holzbalken, vom riesigen Doppelzimmer bis zum winzigen Dachstübchen bietet diese Hotel alles. Der einzige Wermutstropfen - wie bei den meisten Hotels in dieser wunderschönen Stadt - ist das Parken. Man kann bis zum Alten Keller fahren, ent- oder beladen, muss allerdings den Wagen außerhalb der Stadtmauern parken. Die Parkgebühr ist nicht hoch, man spaziert etwa 15 - 20 Minuten vom und zum Parkplatz. Die Gerichte, die im Alten Keller offeriert werden, sind lukullisch! Und das Frühstück ist jeden Morgen ein veritabler Genuss für Auge und Gaumen!

We hebben hier 's avonds gedineerd. Mijn vrouw had de rund goulash. Die was uitmuntend. Ik had de Frankische schweinenschaeufle en die smaakte als verwacht. Vriendelijke en correcte bediening. Wij zaten buiten op straat. Heerlijk. We zijn nog een keer geweest. Tweemaal Gulash.

Super leckers Essen. Frisch zubereitet und qualitätsvoll. Gute Auswahl auf der Karte. Nettes und kompetentes Service Personal. Herzliche Besitzer. Reservierung sinnvoll, da es oft sehr voll ist. Alles sauber und ordentlich. Preis Leistung Verhältnis super. Zimmer kann ich nicht beurteilen, waren nur zum Essen dort.

Luckily we stumbled upon this restaurant, it opened at 17.30 we didn’t have a reservation but being early paid off. The food was great and reasonably priced, the staff were very pleasant and explained everything, there was no rushing you to finish because the people who hadn’t booked were waiting outside .

Durch Zufall in diesem tollen Restaurant gelandet und Erwartungen übertroffen. Essen 1A, sehr lecker, frisch und kurze Wartezeit. Die Bedienung war trotz vollem Haus aufmerksam, freundliche und immer zur Stelle. Keine Touri-Falle und ganz normale Preise.

This was such a fun experience. I have NEVER been in a busier restaurant or been more entertained. Food was delicious, waiter was great. Oh and, tip your wait staff. They deserve it!

Percebi que é um restaurante que os locais prezam muito , pela frequencia deles lá. Eu particularmente não gostei tanto, talvez porque não curto tanto comida tipica da região ou porque não pedimos os pratos certos . Achei que o atendimento é mais ou menos e não voltaria a este restaurante ,se um dia retornar a Rothenburg.

Wir waren zwei Mal hier essen, weil es einfach zu gut schmeckt! Am meisten können wir das Gulasch und die Ente (Sonderkarte) empfehlen. Der Service ist super nett und aufmerksam. Beim zweiten Mal wurden unsere Teller ein wenig zu spät abgeräumt und die Person neben uns musste gefühlt lange auf seine Bestellung warten. Deswegen eher 4 1/2 Sterne :) Am besten vorher reservieren, da es dort nur wenige Tische gibt. Wir werden sicher wieder kommen!

Nachdem wir an einem Abend in dieser Gaststätte essen waren, mussten wir am nächsten Tag direkt wiederkommen. Das Ambiente, der Service und die Küche ist nahezu perfektioniert. Das Saftgulasch und die Ente sind ein absolutes Highlight. Ein absoluter Pflichtbesuch in Rothenburg.

독일음식점 독일음식 특성상 양이 많음. 예거 슈니첼과 린트(소고기) 굴라쉬 주문함. 다른 지역 가게보다는 가격이 좀 비쌈. 맛은 괜찮음. 한국인 2인이 오신다면 슈니첼이나 굴라쉬등 1개만 시키고 샐러드를 시키시는것을 추천.

Arrived at 12:00 and be the 1st customers. Ordered 2 lemonade, then is one pork shoulder and one sauerbraten. Good taste, big portion, fast serving. Prices are a bit higher but it’s reasonable as at tourist area.
