Great restaurant with delicious, authentic food. The salad with the dressing is especially delicious! The main course with chanterelle mushrooms was excellent. The service is good and attentive!

Quiet and unique restaurant Friendly service Hearty meal

The reception was very reserved and not a friendly greeting. This is the first deduction for a good restaurant. Do they generally assume that guests only come in once because Rothenburg is simply overrun with tourists? A big mistake and could cost valuable customers. The prices for drinks also seem to be somewhat randomly set or incorrectly calculated, with a 0.2 liter water costing the same as a Coke. The food was, despite everything, very good, tasty, and fresh. Not like ready-made sausage. I'm happy to give it 5 stars! However, the prices for the food are more tourist-oriented. Charging €10.50 for a currywurst with a couple of fries is quite extreme.

Stumbling upon this restaurant turned out to be a happy accident — we hadn’t realized it was Fronleichnam and most shops were closed. Despite arriving in the late afternoon with a group of ten, the restaurant welcomed us warmly. The food was truly excellent, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Thank you for the delicious food and wonderful service! :)

For a late lunch/early dinner, we had potato dumplings and creamed roast with spaetzle and salad. Very tasty home-style cooking.

If you want to eat in 5 hours, you can come. We've been waiting for an hour to be served. Incredible, only one waitress for everything. Unacceptable.

Very unwelcoming, it seemed like we were a bother. Unfortunately had a negative experience here. I was waiting inside by the "wait to be served" sign with no one coming to me, despite there being a number of staff sitting looking at me from the back of the restaurant. Finally, not knowing what to do I asked them "are you open?" The response was... "The door's open" after which, I asked if we could sit outside (there were many tables) and the response was simply "no." Haven't tried the food but definitely wouldn't recommend this place based on its service.

During a short tour of the city we felt a little hungry and ended up here by chance. We all loved the food and the ambience was also very good.

We went there because of the good ratings on Google but then found that the restaurant was closed even though Google said it was open. We could have saved ourselves the trip!

They don't indicate at any point that it's closed until April 4th. A touristy place like Rothenburg, I think, needs updated information and they shouldn't give you the tour at all.

Today I went to the Landsknechtstubchen with my parents. And I was very positively surprised. Excellent price-performance ratio, friendly service, simple but tasty dishes, and the spaetzle was definitely homemade. I can only recommend it.

Hello, we had roast pork in dark beer sauce and spaetzle as well as sauerbraten with dumplings. Both were decent portions and very tasty. Very good home cooking with lots of a more than fair price.

Cute place down the street from our hotel. Reasonably prices with a good selection of food. Our kiddos found something they liked and I was able to get some tasty German cuisine.

Ate here for lunch. Sausage was good but the sauerkraut was even better! The butter on the pork is awesome too!

Price performance is not right here at all. But this is a general problem in Rothenburg's old town. Outside the city walls, things are cheaper and much better.

After our city tour, we were looking for good Franconian cuisine and found it in the Landsknechtstübchen. Around 1 p.m. there was a lot going on everywhere in the city, but since the restaurant is a little out of the way towards the city walls, we were able to get a seat for two people. The service was friendly and we didn't have to wait long for the order or the food. For the price, the food was excellent and we would come back at any time. We had the pork loin with porcini mushroom cream sauce and spaetzle as well as just a large portion of spaetzle with porcini mushroom cream sauce. Each with a side salad. The salad costs a small thaler extra, but it is definitely worth it. Very tasty dressing!

An incredibly delicious roast pork is offered here. Rarely get such tender meat for the price. Nicole, the waitress, is incredibly friendly despite the stressful business during Advent. We will definitely come back.

It may seem like a small portion, but I was glad that it was just the right amount since they came with a salad. The balance is great. The beer is delicious and has a small capacity. It's a bit far from the main area, so it's actually nice and cost-effective.

I would eat here every day if I could! I had the pork roast in dark beer sauce with dumplings, and it was literally one of the best meals I've ever had. Go. Eat. Be happy.

Had lunch yesterday at the Landsknechtstübchen, which is located in a beautiful house. The dining room is very cozy and we were greeted warmly. The menu is small, but offers many delicious Central Franconian/Bavarian specialties. We chose the roast pork and the potato turnovers with cream cheese. The salads were fresh and crunchy with a delicious salad sauce. We can only recommend the Landsknechtstübchen.  Price/performance ratio great compared to the prices in the marketplace area. If we didn't come from Ingolstadt and the journey was a few kilometers I would visit the Landsknechtstubchen more often.

Rothenburg is considered one of the most beautiful medieval cities with many architectural monuments and world-famous sights. The restaurant offering is correspondingly extensive and you may be spoiled for choice as to where to stop off. We decided on the Landsknechtstûbchen, which is located in a beautiful house and not far from the city wall defense tower. The dining room is very cozy and we were greeted warmly. The menu is small, but offers many delicious Central Franconian/Bavarian specialties. We chose the sauerbraten with potato dumplings and mixed salad, and baked champions with salad. We had to wait about 15 minutes for our food, but the wait was worth it. The portions were generous, the meat of the sauerbraten was super tender, the sauce was simply delicious and the potato dumplings were fluffy. The baked champions were freshly breaded and fried in good, fresh oil. The salads were fresh and crunchy with a delicious salad sauce. The Landsknechtstûbchen is absolutely recommended.

Very quaint German diner with tasty food and plenty of German charm to match it, all at a reasonable price! I got bratwurst on sauerkraut with crisp and tasty grape juice, and my wife got pork roast in a brown gravy sauce with spätzle. It was a hearty, delightful meal in a hidden gem in the beautiful town of Rothenberg ob der Tauber.

The salad was the best I've tasted, 10/10 and the Franconian Sour beef and dumpling, just melted in my mouth. Cozy and authentic atmosphere. Well worth a visit when in Rothenburg.

The food was quite okay. But the service was horrible. The waitress was busy chatting with other tables. Drinks took almost 15 minutes alone and there were two of us and there wasn't much going on. We waited almost 1 hour for the food. Very disappointing, we recommend the Italian restaurant next door, everything was perfect!

I expected something special...! Meanwhile, the chanterelles, I don't know why, were flavorless and also tasteless. However, the stewed pork was tender and tasty. Really big portions!

Disappointing and Unreliable!! We called in advance to reserve a table, but were informed that reservations were not possible and that we could just show up. However, when we arrived the restaurant was full of reserved tables. When we asked how that could be, we were met very unfriendly at the bar. The woman there was completely unwilling to answer our questions, let alone find a solution. Instead we were simply turned away. I have rarely experienced something so unprofessional and rude. Very disappointing, we will not be returning.

Cheeky service - no food⬇️ Previously I was walking in Rothenburg and found the restaurant on maps. I then called and inquired about available places. I was told by phone that reservations were not possible. I walked across town to the restaurant. I was welcomed without words: no greeting - just a shake of the head. I am told that there are no seats left, even though the ENTIRE inside area is free and there are still 4 tables available outside (all tables have a "Reserved" sign on them). When I asked why the tables were reserved even though it wasn't possible, there was silence and the waitress disappeared into the kitchen. It is said that there are no more places available😂 AN IMASSION🤮

Nice place. The tarte flambée was a little different. With nuts, grapes, cheese, onions,… very tasty! The beer is “running”! ;-)

Although it is quite far from the square But overall it’s economical and delicious. The lettuce has been processed first and does not have a very raw taste. The pork is seasoned and delicious, and the portion is huge.

The skewers (house specialty) are good and deserve 4 stars. The fries, on the other hand, were very soft and hard to eat. Our complaint was immediately forwarded and the innkeeper personally apologized and offered us a schnapps. You can't be resentful. The ambience outside is so-so.

Delicious food but the service is very slow. There is only one person serving and it is not enough. It took us more than half an hour to serve and on top of that it is very serious.

Great food. We ordered roast pork with spätzle. Delicious. On the other hand, the woman who served us, a tall woman with black hair, seemed upset by our presence and when we left she didn't even say goodbye to us 😒. If we return it will be because of the food, which was delicious 😋.

The exterior and outdoor tables looked very attractive so I went in, but there were no seats outside so I sat inside. The staff was friendly and all the food was delicious, especially the generous salad. The taste is good, but the exterior of the restaurant is really pretty :)

Highly recommended, homemade food, few dishes but all the main typical German dishes are there. Friendly service, even in English for those who don't speak German, and very fast. If you are looking for a typical inn at a fair price and you are passing through these parts, you absolutely must come here. The only small insignificant note is on the coffee which is very light, but not unpleasant.

I think it is the typical tourist city restaurant that is simply correct, in terms of quality and price. In our case the service left a little to be desired.

The delicious food. We enjoyed it very much. We ordered the typical sausages and the tastiest sauerkraut we have tried so far. We also ordered the loin steaks in sauce and I 100% recommend them along with the filet in beer sauce. Excellent quality-price. The service wasn't the best but the food was worth it.
