We've been to Watzke am Ring many times, and we knew the food to be hearty and home-style. So we went today for "schnitzel day." And we were sorely disappointed. Instead of a pork schnitzel, we got a sliced ​​chicken schnitzel on completely unseasoned mashed potatoes, surrounded by some kind of cold tomato paste, and all for €19.90 per portion. Plus a light beer that was so sparkling it was almost impossible to drink. No, sorry, that wasn't good. The service was attentive and friendly; after all, they can't help the food.

I had the vegetarian curry, big portion and very delicious. Also the tofu was just perfect. There were three more vegetarian/vegan options and all sounded very good too. Will try them next time!

While waiting to collect our visa stamps at the Czech Consulate, we saw Watzke right after crossing the bridge. What a wonderful choice! Beautiful interior with a large bell and lots of seating options. We were also happy to find they brew their own beers! We went with Hell style, which is fairly light with superior taste. Our meal was Berlins favorite Currywurst with fries! This was just as good if not better than to be found in the capital! The other patrons had other local dishes that certainly looked and smelled great. Our server was wonderful and attentive! He even said cheers in Czech! Well worth stopping in here!

Nice building, good ambience, friendly people

Also meine Tochter wollte mir gestern beim Muttertag eine Freude mit dem Brunch essen machen. Das Frühstück ist ok, außer die Hänchen drums von der Packung und sehr trocken. Der Brunch selbst , war ungenießbar, das war wie Krankenhaus essen. Ich bin richtig Enttäuscht. Wenn man zu zweit 70 Euro zahlt da kann man schon was besseres erwarten. Sonst haben die gutes Essen, doch leider, Schade das war sehr enttäuschend.
