Turm-Brauhaus in Chemnitz

Beautiful location in the heart of Chemnitz. We were there for dinner on Friday evening (pre-ordered). Food and drinks were good. The service did its best, despite the “house being full”. Polite, friendly and not averse to a joke or two.

The sauerkraut for the roast pork was from a can, only made lukewarm and really sour. The sauce and dumplings were too salty. The waiter's succinct answer was that he would pass it on to the kitchen. No apology, no regrets, nothing. Last but not least the bill, one large beer too many on the bill, almost 5 €. The waiter said I drank it. The beer was included with the roast pork. Again, no excuse. There is still a lot of room for improvement in the service and a lot needs to be done in the kitchen too.

The service was very pleasant. The ambience was, as always, very nice. The food was not to my taste. It was the wrong choice. But I can recommend this restaurant.

Good brewery in the center of Chemnitz. The pork knuckle was super good and cross grilled. A clear recommendation if you like good home-style brewery food.

It's becoming more and more customer-unfriendly. The TBH is officially open until 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, but if you arrive at 11:45 p.m., after a long wait you will immediately be informed that there is only a maximum of one beer left. It is becoming more and more customer-unfriendly. Nobody at TBH should be surprised if guests migrate to the new “pub mile”.

We were there for dinner with a larger group. The order went quickly. The food was excellent and the portions were also sufficient. The price is now the same as everywhere else. The only negative point is that I forgot a drink, which is included on schnitzel day. Otherwise the service was fine and the brewery is recommended.

We just had a good meal, the seasoned meat was good, the bread was a bit old..., unfortunately the light beer had a strange aftertaste, not like usual, I'm here often.....

Delicious dishes at reasonable prices! The restaurant is usually very busy, which is why it often gets louder and the staff is stressed. All in all, everyone is friendly and the waiting times are not long. When the weather is nice, there is also a spacious terrace. I'll definitely come back again and would like to try a few other dishes!😋

Anyone who visits Chemnitz must have been to the Turmbrauhaus! The pork knuckle is a sensation! 👍

Very small, carelessly presented and served portion for a hefty price (here: 1 small ladle of goulash + 3 dumpling slices thrown away - €17.50). Nothing to fill you up or even enjoy... Tasty but certainly.

It's a shame that it's so rarely delivered. I really enjoy ordering from here and really appreciate the quality. I would be happy if you activate the delivery service more often :-)

We took a tour with a larger group and everything was really great. Super nice and courteous staff. The food was super tasty and I can only recommend it. What I can personally recommend is the beer liqueur, which was really tasty and the asparagus snaps were of course not to my taste but I tried them.

We were in a larger group and sat upstairs. It's very loud. The food was brought in several batches. I had the brawn, which was even available in a small portion. This was great in terms of taste and so were the fried potatoes. The ribs are a huge portion!

We were very satisfied. The food was tasty and the beer was excellent. The offer was completely sufficient, there is something for everyone.

We took a little break there. The snack with the homemade Obazda was really tasty, just 1-2 more slices of bread would be excellent. There is, fortunately (!), a lot of Obazda. There was also a strawberry shandy, which was refreshing. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The ambience is currently somewhat disturbed by the construction work, but is still nice.

OK for in between! It's nice to sit outside and have something to eat and drink. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio has slipped somewhat and now means impressive prices that don't quite correspond to the performance.

Good restaurant with home-brewed beer

We were there for a cozy drink and tried the house beer in light and copper, which tasted really good. Prices were reasonable.

Very good tasting draft beer. Food (schnitzel and framkuchen) was also delicious and the brewery had a nice atmosphere. Located close to the old town hall. However, when we asked for mustard, they said they didn't have it. However, another friendly staff provided us with mustard.

An diesem Abend war 20.00 Uhr eine Veranstaltung in der Stadthalle. Wir sind aus Dresden angereist. Die Stadthalle war nur 5 Gehminuten von hier entfernt. Wir hatten bewusst einen Tisch schon für 17.45 Uhr bestellt, um den frühen Abend so richtig zu genießen. Außerdem hatten wir noch unsere Mutter (83) mit. Natürlich war am Samstag bei dieser Sommerhitze die Gaststätte sehr gut besucht. Erst war es schwierig, einen Kellner regelrecht zu "erwischen", um die Bestellung aufzugeben. Nach 15 Minuten wurden die Bestellungen aufgenommen. Aber als wir nach 45 Minuten (18.00) des Wartens auf unser Essen nachgefragt haben, wurden wir in ordentlicher Lautstärke vor allen Gästen abgemahnt, dass viele Gäste hier in dieser Zeit bedient werden müssten. Schneller geht es nicht. Hinweis: Die Gäste vor der Gaststätte im Biergarten wurden pausenlos bedient !!! Und wir sollten Geduld doch haben ! Ich habe höflich darauf hin gewiesen, dass unsere 83-jährige Mutter aber nicht so schnell essen kann, geschweige in 5 Minuten zur Stadthalle gelaufen ist. Nach geschlagenen 110 Minuten ab Bestelltermin (19.35 Uhr) kam dann das Essen. Tja, dann mussten wir uns beeilen. Geschmeckt hat es trotzdem gut. Wir hatten ca. 10 Minuten Zeit zum Essen. Aber in Zukunft würde ich dieses Lokal meiden. Das muss ich mir nicht antun !

Even though it was very busy, we were served quickly and very much!!!! friendly service. Nice ambience. Price-performance ratio definitely fits here 👍. Very good, appealing food selection. Will come again. Keep it up.

That was a long, long time ago: The food was a failure. The schnitzel was dry and unseasoned. The egg was cut out somewhere. The bread was dry, even though there is supposed to be a baker who prepares everything fresh. The lettuce leaves were so-so. The coleslaw was okay since it was canned. Only the beer and the service were okay. I have to take away another star. My colleague's fries were still raw and unseasoned inside. And this wasn't a side dish, but a main course. Update: Today after 5 years we had a lovely evening with colleagues again. The food was simply great. A 180° turn. Simply great. I'd love to come back. 👍🏻😋 I had a late lunch here today and of course had a delicious beer. Conclusion: The level was again very good. Good food and friendly and attentive service.

A always great restaurant in downtown Chemnitz. Despite the crowds, the waiters are very friendly and, above all, attentive. You're welcome to give a tip :) It is highly recommended for friends of German cuisine. Children, vegetarians and vegans will find what they are looking for. Cleanliness is present in all areas.

This is a real brewery feeling, great food, very rich, super fast service. Some people could cut off 1 or 2 slices of it. Was really super satisfied. Very happy again. And I would happily recommend it as a coach driver.

Fantastic fresh beer(weizen my favorite) , perfect shnitzel and cordon bleu. the service is always smiling and friendly. the place is decorated in great style, you can feel the atmosphere of a real brewery, its soul and heart

Das Essen war soweit ok. Ordentliche Hausmannskost. Der Salat musste etwas nachgewürzt werden, aber das war ok. Das Bier war, bis auf das hefeweizen ( war nicht unser Geschmack) sehr gut. Das helle und das kupfer ist sehr zu empfehlen. Die Bedienung war absolut top. Immer freundlich und hilfsbereit, entgegenkommend und aufmerksam.

Non-air-conditioned shopping and dining options. More intended for children, there are attractions for them. The offer is very one-sided, and the parking situation can be described as catastrophic. We did a few laps before we found a parking space because a car was driving away. And we weren't the only ones doing laps.

Always a good address if you want to go out for a spontaneous meal in the city center. You can usually get a seat here even without pre-ordering. The outdoor area is particularly recommended in summer. You should park in the underground car park in the Roter Turm gallery.

Outside, 0.4l beer is sold in plastic cups instead of 0.5l in glasses inside at the same price with the same menu.

Habe ein Brauhaus Schnitzel gegessen. Hatte richtig Hunger, sonst hätte ich es zurück geben lassen. Schmeckte wie ein Imbiss Schnitzel, aus der Fritteuse. Geht gar nicht. Hab obwohl großen Hunger , nicht aufgegessen, und das soll was heißen. Essen werde ich dort nicht mehr.

Yesterday I ate a Brauhaus Schnitzel. For just under 19 euros. Unfortunately the quality is more like that of a cheap snack bar. I'd rather pay more somewhere else next time for better quality. I was hungry, otherwise I would have returned it. I didn't finish the whole meal either, that says it all for me. I'll be having visitors soon, and of course I won't be eating there. I ate the same schnitzel there 2 years ago, and it was a schnitzel that deserved the name. Am disappointed. The fries weren't anything special either. The food gave off a lot of weight. Savings are made at the wrong end. The beer and the ambience are still otherwise good. But that was it.

Bad service, food was very disappointing, little food for too much money. I can't recommend it.

I like to walk through Chemnitz city in the summer evenings, have a look around and usually end up in the well-attended brewery beer garden on the market square. The cold beer (especially the copper-colored one) is smooth and tasty and goes well with the hearty home-style cooking that is offered there. The daily “daily specials” are still a bargain, but in most cases the price-performance ratio is also good. Even if something goes wrong when the beer garden is full and you have to wait a little longer, the nice waiters will make up for it with a little fun or a smile. You're treated in a friendly manner, which I think is great, you feel like you're among friends. It's great that the city of Chemnitz has made a name for itself nationwide in recent years with numerous tried and tested and new restaurants and that this trend is continuing even after the difficulties of the Corona years. The Turmbrauhaus am Markt continually contributes to this. Keep it up - I/we will always be happy to come back!

Good German cuisine but not as good as it used to be. But beer is still delicious, especially the beer punch. If you like rustic cuisine, this is the place for you.

Very nice, quaint restaurant with great decor. The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. The selection of food and drink is absolutely sufficient and you will definitely find something. The only thing I would like to "criticize" about the food is that the children's burger had BBQ sauce and bacon on it, which might not be nice for some children. But that's my personal opinion, or that of my daughter :). But it's definitely worth a visit. Thank you
