We felt very comfortable. Breakfast with a fantastic view was perfect.

Our stay in August 2025 with our dog was for one night. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. The hotel is quite dated and had its heyday in the 1990s. Our room was very hot. The window could only be tilted open, which is understandable for safety reasons on the 17th floor. According to the staff, the air conditioning was broken throughout the entire hotel. We were offered a fan instead. The promised treat pack for the dog was unfortunately not in the room. We only received it after requesting it at reception. Unfortunately, dogs were not allowed in the restaurant for breakfast. We were only informed of this once we were in the restaurant. We had arrived early to secure a window seat. Reservations were not possible, even though some tables had "reserved" signs. The restaurant was still relatively empty, and we found a good spot in a secluded corner by the window. After we had settled in with our dog, the staff approached us and asked us to leave the restaurant with the dog. This sparked a very unpleasant argument, culminating in a threat to call the police. Unfortunately, the food was a complete turn-off. To be honest, it wasn't very good quality anyway. Cheap, pre-baked rolls and poorly prepared scrambled eggs made with powdered whole eggs... A phone call with the hotel manager a few days later was very pleasant and reassuring. Unfortunately, though, it didn't change the fact that our experience was disappointing.

I was there from 27.12.2025 to 30.12.2025. "Economy" room for two. Clean, sufficient equipment, bathroom with shower suitable. On this date the hotel was half empty - so peace and quiet. The hotel's location is ideal for sightseeing, close to the train and local public transport.

What a terrible hotel. My room was booked for 3 pm. Online it says I can arrive earlier, but then I'll have to pay an extra €10.50 for each hour or part thereof. Which is pretty cheeky. Now I've been sitting around in the waiting area since 1 pm, I won't get into my room until 3 pm, and I have an appointment right at 3 pm. I drove over 500 km only to have to sit around for another two hours, which I need to get ready. The parking lots are run-down, the hotel is dilapidated, and I simply wouldn't recommend it. The cheap places I usually book were more flexible than this hotel. This is my first and last time staying here. The woman who drives around in her car in the morning, shouting something before entering the rooms, is incredibly annoying when you're still in bed. People make an awful lot of noise. You can hear the person next to you showering, defecating, every single sound. The bar is permanently closed. There's nothing to do at this hotel. If you get hungry or thirsty at night, you're out of luck. They don't even have a snack vending machine or anything else. Absolutely not recommended.

It's close to Chemnitz Central Station and in the heart of the city. The price is reasonable, and the rooms are average. The staff is very friendly, and the breakfast is amazing. I came with my international orchestra colleagues, and they all said they wanted to eat breakfast every day. This hotel is very nice. The rooms are classic but very quiet. The breakfast buffet is fantastic. I visit with my friend. We said, "I want to eat this hotel breakfast every day."

Unfortunately, the hotel is showing its age. The parking lot in front is very narrow, and I couldn't find any charging stations. Depending on the room you choose, it's rather small. The bar is closed. So, unfortunately, the exterior appearance leads you to expect more than it delivers.

Fantastic hotel!! Nothing to complain about! Everything was fine until departure, but one of the elevator doors opened while we were riding, which was really not funny.

If you like a grand breakfast view and relax with the sky line you are on the right hotel. Rooms smal an efficent quite and nice. The Karl Marx statue is just round ghe corner of the hotel.

Apart from breakfast, there is unfortunately no other dining option in the building, otherwise it's okay and has a good view.

I'm a trained hotel manager and travel a lot. The Congress Hotel Chemnitz is the cleanest and most pet-friendly hotel I've ever stayed in! My husband and I booked a room with two beds at short notice. I took the liberty of pushing them together overnight. I expected to find dust or dirt underneath at the very least... But to my pleasant surprise... there was absolutely nothing to be seen! And I mean absolutely nothing! The bathroom was spotless too! No mildew, mold, hair, or anything like that! The ladies at reception and the gentleman in the Panorama Restaurant/breakfast room were extremely friendly! Our dog cost an extra €12.50, but the bag we received for her (containing four sample portions of dry food, one sample portion of wet food, one 300g tub of treats, one roll of poop bags, and a key ring) was definitely worth it!

The room was fine for its age, clean, and the reception staff were friendly. Parking cost €15 overnight. I've never had to pay extra for parking at any other hotel, oh well...

My girlfriend invited me for breakfast! The restaurant has a wonderful view of Chemnitz. Unfortunately, I always have to pay high parking fees when visiting the city by car. So, I only go to the city in exceptional cases!

I rarely write negative reviews, but the terrible WiFi at this hotel was unbearable. I had to go to the first floor to connect, and I couldn't connect directly in the room.

We were caught having a break-in at the hotel for a company party! The room was small but adequate! After a long journey, there was no restaurant or bar in the hotel; you have to find your own dining options elsewhere! Breakfast was very good, with a wide selection and delicious food! The view from the room and during breakfast on the 26th floor overlooking Chemnitz is very nice; on a clear day, you can even see as far as the Ore Mountains! Parking is directly in front of the hotel, and at €15 per night, it's just about acceptable, but the bird droppings on the car and on the ground are extremely unpleasant! Conclusion: It's okay for a business trip of 1-2 days, but for a longer holiday, you're better off looking elsewhere!

We stayed there for two nights and it was lovely on the 23rd floor, where you could enjoy a beautiful view. The beds were comfortable, but the water pressure in the shower could have been a bit stronger. Otherwise, we were completely satisfied.

The hotel is centrally located in Chemnitz, making shops and restaurants easily accessible on foot. The rooms are rather outdated (apart from the TV). The service is good.

This was our first time at the Congress Hotel. Unfortunately, we weren't very impressed. The room was worn, with water stains on the walls, stained lampshades, and holes in the bed linens. The bathroom wasn't clean; the shower screen had limescale that hadn't been removed in a long time. Even though it was just a standard room, the price was outrageous. The breakfast was very good, as was the view from the breakfast room. The staff was very friendly.

This hotel is not recommended. Firstly, the beds are far too soft and saggy. Secondly, a party went on in the hotel until about 3 a.m., and the bass from the party reached our room, which was about ten floors below, preventing us from falling asleep. This completely defeats the purpose of a hotel and deserves no more than one star. Oh, and there wasn't a power outlet by the bed! Update after receiving a response from the hotel: It's rather telling that they listed my points of criticism but didn't address any of them, as if they couldn't care less. Well, maybe that's what happens when you have to live in Chemnitz...

From the welcome at reception to the breakfast service, everything was top-notch. We had a suite on the 22nd floor; the furniture was excellent, but the hotel's age was noticeable in its condition. The absolute highlight was the breakfast – such a fantastic breakfast, such wonderful and friendly staff – it made the day start so much better. It was a shame the bar was closed; we were really looking forward to it. A note on the website would have been helpful.

I usually like staying there. But the floor in this room was so dirty. After showering, I had to lay towels all the way to the bed. The cleaning staff can't be blamed. The flooring is just worn and filthy.

A daily parking fee of €15 is outrageous. The room was ancient; we booked a double room but received a single room. The mattresses were worn out. There were three electrical outlets, one of which was occupied by the TV, the second was loose, and the third only worked if the light was left on. At breakfast, you practically needed a winter coat to sit down, otherwise you would have frozen. The breakfast itself was okay.

I've always been here for events. The service and ambiance were always excellent. I can't comment on the rooms.

The hotel's location is excellent for exploring other city activities. Many things are within walking distance. Parking is available directly at the hotel, and the well-known problem of bird droppings is clearly indicated. Secondly, €15 per night, or a total of €30 if you park from Friday to Sunday, is quite reasonable for a city-center location. The rooms are practically furnished, not large, but spotlessly clean. The ever-present friendliness of the staff, both at reception and especially at breakfast, is particularly noteworthy. The breakfast buffet itself leaves nothing to be desired, and supplies are replenished until the last minute. It's a shame there's no bar in the hotel in the evening, but there are plenty of dining options nearby. The hotel's value for money is definitely good. We felt very comfortable and would gladly come back!

There's a huge backlog of renovations here! The room smelled very strange. As if a smoking room had been sprayed with Ols Spice. The bar/restaurant was closed, and the receptionist was rather unmotivated.

The hotel is very centrally located, right near the Karl Marx Monument. The rooms are clean and tidy, in keeping with its 3-star rating. The view is beautiful and quiet. We were there at the beginning of September, and unfortunately, the lack of air conditioning made it much too warm. Therefore, we deducted one star. The breakfast was very good, and the service was very prompt. You also get a great view from the breakfast room if you get a window seat. Parking was just about acceptable at €15 per day, given the central location. We were only charged twice for a 2-night/3-day stay, not three. We used a Jochen Schweizer voucher, which made the stay quite affordable.

This hotel is a complete disaster. No restaurant, no bar. You can't get coffee except at breakfast, and you can't eat or drink anything else in this hotel. Sure, it's a bit run-down. Opened in the early 70s and renovated several times. But it's clean, has a great location, and offers excellent value for money. The staff is friendly and quick. And when else can you have breakfast on the 26th floor with a view? Absolutely a must.

It initially seems clunky and uncomfortable, but despite the 26 floors, the stay is very pleasant. A generous breakfast buffet, friendly staff, pleasant rooms with plenty of power outlets, and comfortable beds.

I didn't stay overnight here, but booked breakfast on two days as an external guest. Breakfast costs €18 for an external guest, and €15 for a hotel guest. The breakfast is buffet-style and very extensive. It has everything you'd expect from a good breakfast: sweet and savory dishes, hot dishes, various egg dishes, a wide selection of breads and rolls, a high-quality selection of cold cuts and cheeses, various yogurt and quark products, cereals, juices, and various coffees. There are even vegan and lactose-free options, as well as soy milk. Everything was fresh and tasted very good. The staff, both at the reception and in the dining room, were very helpful, friendly, and efficient. Plenty of free parking is available for hotel guests. The dining room is on the 26th floor of the hotel, from where you have a fantastic view of the city.

I was there on business and am very experienced in dealing with different hotels. The hotel is quite dated, but the rooms are very well-maintained. The lack of air conditioning is a problem, even in the early stages of autumn. The breakfast room was a no-go for me. The placemats are very dirty and old, as are the seat cushions, which made my appetite suffer considerably.

Very clean rooms, great view from the 14th floor. Very friendly service. Bicycles and luggage could be stored there free of charge before and after check-in. Breakfast was served right at the top on the 26th floor. A very extensive selection and, again, very attentive and friendly staff. Thank you very much!

Our summary is very mixed. The hotel has a great location, but the concept of service is unheard of. As a family, we had a suite on the 22nd floor. It wasn't the most modern, but it was perfectly fine. Despite the 26 degrees Celsius outside temperature, the room was quite bearable. However, there were still beer bottles from the last guest in a drawer. In my bed, there was a slippery plastic flannel under the sheet. The rest of the family had a better time. After sweating profusely the first night because of this, I asked for a change. Unfortunately, the chambermaid didn't speak German and smelled strongly of sweat. I then asked for this at reception, and the beer bottles were removed, but the plastic remained. The risk of bird droppings in the parking lot is pointed out everywhere. The fact that they still charge a €15 parking fee per day is outrageous. The breakfast is okay, and the room is nice. However, guests are left to their own devices when it comes to finding a seat, and the tables are apparently cleaned at random. Unfortunately, it seems as if the majority of the employees are underpaid, demotivated, and lacking any training in the hotel industry. The uniforms also don't fit well, and some are unironed or slightly dirty. The hotel truly has a lot of potential, but it needs a clear service orientation and a friendly approach to guests.

The hotel is unusable in summer. It's unbearably hot, there's no ventilation through the windows, and there's no air conditioning. Recommendation: Avoid the hotel in summer.

It depends what you're looking for. It's in the center, which is great and I do like the way the rooms are set up. BUT!!! The internet sucks! Unusable. I'm hot spotting my computer from my phone. No congress possible. :) I don't accept the excuse that the internet is not working because the hotel is fully booked. A hotel that only has functioning internet when it's half empty cannot call themselves a congress hotel.... They have 3 locked Wifi-lines that they would not give me the password for. I'm only allowed to use the open Wifi that is not working AT ALL. I'm here to work, so this sucks. It's August, the rooms are very very hot. My room is way way hotter than the hallway or the outside, but I can't open the window all the way as at is locked and they refuse to open it. They gave me a fan which was a little bit of a relief, but if you don't have air-condition, you need to let people open the windows. The fan has a timer for 2 hours, so every 2 hours I wake up, covered in sweat, then have to get up and turn it back on, so it can blow on my sweat covered body and now I have a stiff neck and a cough. I don't know what it's like here in winter, but I cannot suggest to come here. Especially if you need the internet. Update: Now the hotel is commenting that the windows let air in. Please come up to my room and check how much air is coming in. NOTHING! This room is like 20°C hotter than the outside and there is no air flow!

I stayed at the Docht for 3 days and was very happy. A beautiful room with a lovely view and a very good breakfast were served. The staff was very friendly. I can definitely recommend the hotel. I will definitely be back.

It's a very nice hotel in the center, we were on the 23rd floor and had a beautiful view of the city, only one thing: the rooms don't have air conditioning and the windows can't be opened, otherwise everything is great.

Well-kept rooms, well-equipped, although the mattress could be a bit firmer. Very friendly and accommodating staff.

Unfortunately, we didn't feel comfortable at all in our room. It was too small for two people, the windows only tilted, and then only slightly, the mattresses were far too soft, and the carpet was very dirty. And to top it all off, they charged a 20-euro deposit for a kettle. The reception area is also very dated, so the comfort factor is zero.

We arrived at our room with an outside temperature of 21°C and were almost overwhelmed by the heat. And we had an east-facing room. I don't even want to imagine how hot a south-facing room would be at higher outside temperatures. We survived the night with cold leg compresses, but comfort is something else entirely. One minor quibble: The shower gel hadn't been refilled before our visit.

I can only confirm much of what has been written: This hotel is not recommended in summer. The rooms are extremely hot, and without air conditioning and ventilation, it's difficult to bear. Since the window can only be opened a crack, the only way to escape is to use the door to the hallway for some ventilation. The rooms are large, equipped with a small refrigerator, and the bathroom, unfortunately, is not very modern. I stayed on the 19th floor and was surprised to hear so much street noise from outside at this height. The breakfast buffet on the 26th floor is excellent, and not just because of the view. The reception staff are only moderately friendly.

We are appalled. We can only advise against staying at this hotel during the warmer months. There's no air conditioning, and the rooms get extremely hot, making it almost impossible to stay in them; it's actually dangerous to your health. It's centrally located, but they only serve breakfast, and there's no bar or restaurant, although there are plenty nearby. Therefore, no rating.

The lack of air conditioning in the room (ventilation only possible with the tilted window) and in the windowless bathroom, with sauna-like room temperatures of over +30°C last weekend (3 nights), was an imposition and an experience we would have gladly avoided. We don't understand why there is no mention of this in the general/detailed room description. Having known this fact, we would have chosen a different hotel; we therefore recommend familiarizing ourselves with the air conditioning issue before booking at this hotel. Despite the good location and attentive service, this hotel will not be an option for us in the future.

The hotel itself is okay. It's a shame that the room doesn't have air conditioning or a refrigerator. It's also a shame that the hotel bar is advertised on the website, but then you're told AFTER booking that it's closed from May to September. Breakfast is okay, and the view is fantastic.

The rooms have small, square windows, which, due to their size and location, are unsuitable for overlooking the city, creating an oppressive, prison-cell-like atmosphere. Rooms with odd numbers have views of the Karl Marx Memorial.

Today I met a friendly, helpful, and dedicated hotel trainee at the reception desk who took the time to answer all my questions in detail and offered me advice. I felt in good hands 👍😉

It was a bit confusing finding the entrance from the parking garage. The elevators rattle quite loudly. It's a bit scary when you have to go up to the 26th floor for breakfast. But watching the thunderstorm from so high up was awesome.

The hotel is beautiful and the location is excellent – everything is close and easy to reach. However, there was one thing that really annoyed me: There was no power socket next to the bed to charge my phone. The only available socket was near the TV, which was very inconvenient.

Due to the fact that there were problems with the key machine at the hotel I originally booked, I was in an emergency. First I tried to find a hotel with a 24/7 reception via booking com. But since it was after midnight, I could only have booked for the day that had just started at a price of €93. So I called the reception on May 11th. at 0:10 and asked if I could get a double room. Apparently the gentleman at the reception thought that I wanted to disappear into the room with a random acquaintance. When I asked, he gave me a price of €229 without breakfast plus €15 for parking and the smug hint that there were only two single beds in the room. I was shocked and yet forced to take the room because I had traveled over 500 km. The room was nothing special and not of a good standard, especially for the price. The next morning I checked the price again via Booking and it showed €93. I then spoke to the lady at reception and asked how such a price difference came about with a difference of over €130. She wanted to explain to me that the hotel was fully booked and would cost €160 today. This was very unbelievable and I just felt ripped off. I will never enter the hotel again and cannot recommend it. Apparently the hotel no longer needs any guests.

Unfortunately, the hotel has deteriorated considerably in all areas. The breakfast was always very good. Now it is no longer worth the money. My room was dirty and in a bad condition. Complaints are of no use. I will never enter this hotel again.

Superb location of the hotel. Karl Marx monument is just 50m from it. When you book a room on 23rd floor you expect a great view, but unfortunately, it is ruined by a rather high and small window. However, breakfast is on 26th floor and if you are lucky enough to pick the table near window, you won’t be disappointed.

A very nice hotel. I can't compare now, but for the first time in my life staying overnight in a hotel it was a good benchmark. Well, the windows are a bit small, enjoying the view is difficult for small people. But this is a high-rise building, so you can't demand floor-to-ceiling windows... at least not everywhere. With a bit of luck you can enjoy the view on the 26th floor by getting a window seat. The buffet is very sufficient and varied. I will definitely come back if Chemnitz wants to be discovered by me. The rooms are small, but functional and well furnished and above all clean! The bed is low, but it was also comfortable, perhaps a little soft, but also clean and, in contrast to many other hotel beds, it smelled fresh but not intrusive. The location is unbeatable, right in the center, the windows can be tilted, I was completely satisfied, the service from the staff was also very accommodating. I will definitely come back and can highly recommend the hotel!
