Very clean rooms, great view from the 14th floor. Very friendly service. Bicycles and luggage could be stored there free of charge before and after check-in. Breakfast was served right at the top on the 26th floor. A very extensive selection and, again, very attentive and friendly staff. Thank you very much!

Our summary is very mixed. The hotel has a great location, but the concept of service is unheard of. As a family, we had a suite on the 22nd floor. It wasn't the most modern, but it was perfectly fine. Despite the 26 degrees Celsius outside temperature, the room was quite bearable. However, there were still beer bottles from the last guest in a drawer. In my bed, there was a slippery plastic flannel under the sheet. The rest of the family had a better time. After sweating profusely the first night because of this, I asked for a change. Unfortunately, the chambermaid didn't speak German and smelled strongly of sweat. I then asked for this at reception, and the beer bottles were removed, but the plastic remained. The risk of bird droppings in the parking lot is pointed out everywhere. The fact that they still charge a €15 parking fee per day is outrageous. The breakfast is okay, and the room is nice. However, guests are left to their own devices when it comes to finding a seat, and the tables are apparently cleaned at random. Unfortunately, it seems as if the majority of the employees are underpaid, demotivated, and lacking any training in the hotel industry. The uniforms also don't fit well, and some are unironed or slightly dirty. The hotel truly has a lot of potential, but it needs a clear service orientation and a friendly approach to guests.

It depends what you're looking for. It's in the center, which is great and I do like the way the rooms are set up. BUT!!! The internet sucks! Unusable. I'm hot spotting my computer from my phone. No congress possible. :) I don't accept the excuse that the internet is not working because the hotel is fully booked. A hotel that only has functioning internet when it's half empty cannot call themselves a congress hotel.... They have 3 locked Wifi-lines that they would not give me the password for. I'm only allowed to use the open Wifi that is not working AT ALL. I'm here to work, so this sucks. It's August, the rooms are very very hot. My room is way way hotter than the hallway or the outside, but I can't open the window all the way as at is locked and they refuse to open it. They gave me a fan which was a little bit of a relief, but if you don't have air-condition, you need to let people open the windows. The fan has a timer for 2 hours, so every 2 hours I wake up, covered in sweat, then have to get up and turn it back on, so it can blow on my sweat covered body and now I have a stiff neck and a cough. I don't know what it's like here in winter, but I cannot suggest to come here. Especially if you need the internet. Update: Now the hotel is commenting that the windows let air in. Please come up to my room and check how much air is coming in. NOTHING! This room is like 20°C hotter than the outside and there is no air flow!

I stayed at the Docht for 3 days and was very happy. A beautiful room with a lovely view and a very good breakfast were served. The staff was very friendly. I can definitely recommend the hotel. I will definitely be back.

It's a very nice hotel in the center, we were on the 23rd floor and had a beautiful view of the city, only one thing: the rooms don't have air conditioning and the windows can't be opened, otherwise everything is great.

Well-kept rooms, well-equipped, although the mattress could be a bit firmer. Very friendly and accommodating staff.

Unfortunately, we didn't feel comfortable at all in our room. It was too small for two people, the windows only tilted, and then only slightly, the mattresses were far too soft, and the carpet was very dirty. And to top it all off, they charged a 20-euro deposit for a kettle. The reception area is also very dated, so the comfort factor is zero.

We arrived at our room with an outside temperature of 21°C and were almost overwhelmed by the heat. And we had an east-facing room. I don't even want to imagine how hot a south-facing room would be at higher outside temperatures. We survived the night with cold leg compresses, but comfort is something else entirely. One minor quibble: The shower gel hadn't been refilled before our visit.

I can only confirm much of what has been written: This hotel is not recommended in summer. The rooms are extremely hot, and without air conditioning and ventilation, it's difficult to bear. Since the window can only be opened a crack, the only way to escape is to use the door to the hallway for some ventilation. The rooms are large, equipped with a small refrigerator, and the bathroom, unfortunately, is not very modern. I stayed on the 19th floor and was surprised to hear so much street noise from outside at this height. The breakfast buffet on the 26th floor is excellent, and not just because of the view. The reception staff are only moderately friendly.

We are appalled. We can only advise against staying at this hotel during the warmer months. There's no air conditioning, and the rooms get extremely hot, making it almost impossible to stay in them; it's actually dangerous to your health. It's centrally located, but they only serve breakfast, and there's no bar or restaurant, although there are plenty nearby. Therefore, no rating.

The lack of air conditioning in the room (ventilation only possible with the tilted window) and in the windowless bathroom, with sauna-like room temperatures of over +30°C last weekend (3 nights), was an imposition and an experience we would have gladly avoided. We don't understand why there is no mention of this in the general/detailed room description. Having known this fact, we would have chosen a different hotel; we therefore recommend familiarizing ourselves with the air conditioning issue before booking at this hotel. Despite the good location and attentive service, this hotel will not be an option for us in the future.

The hotel is a bit dated, but everything in the rooms is clean. Depending on which floor you're on, you can enjoy a wonderful view, and the location is super central.

The hotel itself is okay. It's a shame that the room doesn't have air conditioning or a refrigerator. It's also a shame that the hotel bar is advertised on the website, but then you're told AFTER booking that it's closed from May to September. Breakfast is okay, and the view is fantastic.

The rooms have small, square windows, which, due to their size and location, are unsuitable for overlooking the city, creating an oppressive, prison-cell-like atmosphere. Rooms with odd numbers have views of the Karl Marx Memorial.

The hotel is very centrally located, the staff is very friendly. Breakfast is very good. Parking is available for a fee. Unfortunately, the climate in the room deducts points. The window didn't open all the way, only tilting. Without air conditioning, the conditions were sauna-like, which was particularly unpleasant last weekend in these temperatures.

The Congress Hotel is centrally located, close to attractions and bus and train stations. A very good breakfast buffet is available on the 26th floor with a great view. The rooms were clean. We liked that we could request cleaning as needed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The Wi-Fi could be better.

Today I met a friendly, helpful, and dedicated hotel trainee at the reception desk who took the time to answer all my questions in detail and offered me advice. I felt in good hands 👍😉

It was a bit confusing finding the entrance from the parking garage. The elevators rattle quite loudly. It's a bit scary when you have to go up to the 26th floor for breakfast. But watching the thunderstorm from so high up was awesome.

The hotel is beautiful and the location is excellent – everything is close and easy to reach. However, there was one thing that really annoyed me: There was no power socket next to the bed to charge my phone. The only available socket was near the TV, which was very inconvenient.

Due to the fact that there were problems with the key machine at the hotel I originally booked, I was in an emergency. First I tried to find a hotel with a 24/7 reception via booking com. But since it was after midnight, I could only have booked for the day that had just started at a price of €93. So I called the reception on May 11th. at 0:10 and asked if I could get a double room. Apparently the gentleman at the reception thought that I wanted to disappear into the room with a random acquaintance. When I asked, he gave me a price of €229 without breakfast plus €15 for parking and the smug hint that there were only two single beds in the room. I was shocked and yet forced to take the room because I had traveled over 500 km. The room was nothing special and not of a good standard, especially for the price. The next morning I checked the price again via Booking and it showed €93. I then spoke to the lady at reception and asked how such a price difference came about with a difference of over €130. She wanted to explain to me that the hotel was fully booked and would cost €160 today. This was very unbelievable and I just felt ripped off. I will never enter the hotel again and cannot recommend it. Apparently the hotel no longer needs any guests.

Good city hotel with a view. The restaurant is on the top floor which means a good view. You can park directly at the hotel. Unfortunately, guests also have to pay for the parking lot.

Superb location of the hotel. Karl Marx monument is just 50m from it. When you book a room on 23rd floor you expect a great view, but unfortunately, it is ruined by a rather high and small window. However, breakfast is on 26th floor and if you are lucky enough to pick the table near window, you won’t be disappointed.

A very nice hotel. I can't compare now, but for the first time in my life staying overnight in a hotel it was a good benchmark. Well, the windows are a bit small, enjoying the view is difficult for small people. But this is a high-rise building, so you can't demand floor-to-ceiling windows... at least not everywhere. With a bit of luck you can enjoy the view on the 26th floor by getting a window seat. The buffet is very sufficient and varied. I will definitely come back if Chemnitz wants to be discovered by me. The rooms are small, but functional and well furnished and above all clean! The bed is low, but it was also comfortable, perhaps a little soft, but also clean and, in contrast to many other hotel beds, it smelled fresh but not intrusive. WiFi in the room doesn't work. In a congress hotel! Answer from the listless receptionist: “There’s nothing I can do about that.” You will be charged €5 if you want to change the address on the invoice later. Rooms from the 90s, poorly lit bathroom. At least it's clean.

Very pleasant hotel. The rooms may be a bit small, but they have a great view. Everything is clean and the entrance area looks inviting. It's a shame that the hotel bar is closed on Sundays. The overnight price is more than reasonable.

When you stand in front of the hotel, you think oh my god, 26 floors... once you're inside, you can't help but be amazed. It says you were greeted in a friendly manner at the reception when you walked past. We had a room on the 11th floor, it was tidy, clean and completely sufficient. The room can be cleaned daily upon request, which we didn't use for two nights. The beds were soft/comfortable. The breakfast was on the 26th floor and was a dream, there was everything from muesli, scrambled eggs, meatballs, sweets, even veggies. The staff was also very friendly in the breakfast room and always tried to keep things tidy and clean. It was really very nice. Even the cleaning fairy politely asked us if she could ride with us in the elevator, of course she was. We felt very comfortable in the house, it was a shame that the bar in the house was closed.

A very spacious hotel connected to a large concert hall, but it can also be used for other purposes. A hotel with a rich history. Large parking lot. Ramp for unloading and loading directly onto the stage. A place for catering. Lots of wardrobes. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast on one of the highest floors. A rich set of products. A vast panorama of the city accompanies your meal. Large and functional rooms. I will definitely come back😀

Not worth the price! 103€/night. A few months ago it was still 65€/night, but the Capital of Culture year hadn't started yet. But you get a disgusting smell in the entire corridor and in the room, a completely dirty carpet, bed linen with hair, dander and other residues, sockets that don't work, darkness in the bathroom and a lumpy, hard bed. The employees are friendly and accommodating. The defects are certainly not attributable to them. There are better alternatives in the city.

The hotel is very conveniently located to the city center, which can be reached in just a few minutes on foot. The train station can also be reached in 15 minutes on foot. The stay was very pleasant and relaxed. The reception was very friendly, the room was very well furnished and very clean. A few more sockets would be nice - but that's definitely only minimally annoying. The price-performance ratio is very good. Unfortunately, since I booked without breakfast, I can't rate it. But I generally think €15.00 is quite reasonable. The helpfulness at the end was outstanding: I had forgotten something in the room and called the hotel later. I received immediate and extremely friendly help - and I am very grateful for that. I can definitely recommend the hotel and will book it again at any time

The hotel used to be better when it was a Dorint, especially the breakfast. We were there over New Year's Eve and it was very crowded. When checking out, for example, we had to wait 30 minutes for the elevator. Because all the elevators that arrived at that time were full. The rooms themselves were clean but were next to the elevator ➡️🤮.

I was forced to live in this hotel for a long time. The location is convenient - in the center. There is no service in the rooms - cleaning is required 24 hours in advance, bed linen is not changed at all (I stay for more than 10 days), the staff is not particularly friendly, breakfast is monotonous and tasteless, the room is apparently located next to the sewer riser, the smell in the corridor is appropriate, thank God there is none in the room. I wouldn't stop again.

Yes, 35 after the fall of the Wall, it was not yet possible to give the guest a quiet night. We had to ventilate and then couldn't sleep because of the noise. Never again! There are actually other inexpensive hotels where I can have a quiet night and more comfortable rooms.

Rooms tidy, bathroom small but clean. Reception OK. Breakfast was well stocked. Unfortunately there is a plague of pigeons in the parking lot, the hotel will point this out, but we didn't think it would be that bad. I think the price of €15.00 per day is overpriced.

Unacceptable Experience - Worst Breakfast Ever I stay in hotels over 70% of the year, and this was by far one of the worst experiences I’ve had. Starting with the basics: no electric car charger and a shocking €15 charge for parking—clearly, sustainability is not a priority here. The room was clean but dated, with a narrow bathroom and an inconvenient bathtub instead of a proper shower. The “expected view” was ruined by a small, uninspiring window. Now, the breakfast. What a disaster. The space is overcrowded, poorly managed, and chaotic. The buffet was empty, sticky, and clearly neglected by the staff. When scrambled eggs finally arrived, they were burnt and inedible. It took 30 minutes just to get a coffee, and only after waiting in an endless line. The cold cuts were of the lowest quality imaginable. After 45 minutes, I requested jam to be refilled and was met with indifference. Eventually, it arrived—but with the same old sticky spoon from earlier. This was an absolute waste of time and money. For a “Congress Hotel,” I expected much better. I will not be staying here again.

Good location, good parking, nice, simple service, pleasant hotel guests, BUT, in front of the hotel there are now and then people who are drunk and very sociable. You are asked about cigarettes, reason and length of stay, and money, mostly by young men. Not too pleasant, I wouldn't advise a young woman who is alone to leave the hotel after dark. As a man you don't have any problems with these rags, but you don't have a good time either.

We booked the room through booking. com reserved. There was no indication of a non-renovated room. When we entered the room we were honestly shocked. The carpet was totally stained. The decor is depressing and that can't be compensated for by the small window in the room. No matter where we looked, it was just very dirty and the toilet smelled strongly of urine. We've been to a lot of hotels but that's not possible. Since we didn't want to stay, we immediately went back to reception and insisted on a cancellation. That wasn't a problem either. It seemed like they knew the problem. First the lady at the reception wanted to sell us an upgrade because we had booked an old, unrenovated room. But we didn't feel like it anymore. A tip to management unrenovated does not mean dirty. We then found another hotel room a few meters away and were very happy there. The price was the same only the hotel was better.
