We went for dinner in the late afternoon on Saturday with almost 30 people. We had pre-ordered this due to the number of people. The food came quickly, many had the schnitzel with fried potatoes and champions. The schnitzel was a normal size, but the rest was completely hidden under the schnitzel and was very, very little. Luckily I had also ordered the curds. I never paid €16.80 for it, luckily it was a company party. The waiter also seemed to have little desire to provide his guests with drinks, despite there being only a few other guests in the room. We asked the older lady who was handing out food if we could order something to drink. Not with me, she said. But the waiter was already out of the room before you could order. So a colleague came out and asked if someone could come to our table. That took a while and after calling later he finally came. Empty glasses remained when we finally received refills. I think it was my last visit here, the beer tasted great. The toilets were clean.

I only had a drink here, but the food is great. There are two other restaurants in Dresden.

Particularly noteworthy was our waitress (Mr. Rado), who was very friendly and really fun. The recommendations hit the mark. The food, the beer and the dessert were top and the atmosphere was very cozy. A great restaurant that fully deserves all the stars 😊

As of December 24th There was only a limited menu (forgot to tell us in advance), which consisted of pretzel, goulash soup, duck, venison goulash and spiced meat. A boring choice even for meat eaters. There wasn't even a vegetarian option to choose from. I've already resigned myself to eating at Burger King instead and, frustrated, I just ordered water. Only then was I offered a pretzel with Obazda and pickles for 11.50, which I decided on. The limited selection was justified by the fact that on December 24th. is only used for transit operations. That's how we felt too. Dispatched quickly. Aside from the limited options, the table we were assigned to is too close to the aisle for comfort. We hoped that we might have a nice view of the Elbe while we ate. However, the back room wasn't even open, so you wouldn't feel too comfortable. All in all we are very disappointed with this Christmas dinner.

We were here for a Christmas party and everyone was very happy. The tour of the brewery is recommended. The option of tapping yourself at the table was a highlight and was very well received.

Dear Watzke team, your schnitzel on schnitzel day, actually Cordon Bleu, has recently changed. We've been with you on Wednesdays for years and so far it's been a clear 5 stars for us. The recipe has now been changed and unfortunately it doesn't taste as great as before. Please go back to the old recipe! :-)

The Kleine Watzke is located directly opposite the Ballhaus Watzke. There seems to be construction work going on there at the moment. It will be interesting to see whether this will be an extension of the ballroom or just used as a future office. There are many varied events at the Ballhaus Watzke. The beer garden is also well located with a beautiful view of Dresden and the Elbe.

Today we had a Christmas party in the Watzke. The food tastes great as always. Service was also good. I would give half a point more if that were possible... the only drawback was that some people had to wait a little longer for their food, but that's no wonder given the large number of people. The ambience is typical brewery and hasn't changed for years, maybe it's time to change something 😉... at least a little. However, you'll always be happy to come back.

We were here as park of our European beer tour guide, and if you don’t speak German, you may have some difficulty to order your beer and food, because the staffs here don’t speak English. Google translate becomes the helper. The beer was very good. The food is very average at best! The sausage dish we ordered was not good at all! Service was also very slow. But the atmosphere was nice.

The food was wonderful 🤩 and the service was great (very accommodating and patient)! The ambience matched the type of restaurant (you could have a conversation without getting loud). Very happy again!

What a wonderful dish and a beer!!! I happened to visit the restaurant an hour ago travelling Dresden. I gave it a try to taste Haxe and three kinds of beers, which were brauhaused in this restaurant. The Haxe was awesome enough to surprise me with the crispy and delicious taste. I would like to recommend this restaurant to any visitors in Dresden.

We spent our Christmas party at dinner in the Ballhaus Watzke. The service was nice and friendly. The food delicious. Unfortunately, our table was very close to the entrance door, so a very cold breeze came in every time the guests came in and out. Since the toilets were outside the guest room, the door opened very often.

Always worth a visit. If you like it rustic, you'll get your money's worth here. Unfortunately, the online menu is *not* current

We had a very bad experience with the staff yesterday. Absolutely unacceptable reception, for which a large rush of guests and lack of management of this situation cannot be an excuse. It's really a shame that regular guests are treated like this here.

We went to our daughter's prom on 11/1/24. We were actually looking forward to a nice evening. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. We had to wait 1.5 hours for food. The food was cold. Unfortunately, the soup tasted like ready-made food. The waitress had no interest in trying to provide drinks or food. It was all too much for the waitress. There was no apology, despite us always pointing it out to them, nor a discount for cold and ready-made food. We would recommend having more dishes in the house, then it might also work with warm food and motivating a cook. We will definitely not recommend the house.

Until recently I enjoyed going there and even booked my department's Christmas party there. Since Watzke has offered the AFD a platform, it has become a no-go area for me. Another indictment for Dresden.

All of my favorite beer gardens on the beautiful Elbe, great view of Morocco's old town, you can sit outside, it's okay inside too. Menu is not special, but with fair prices, as are the drinks. Nice and quick service

The beer is OK, but I definitely wouldn't go here for the food. Pretty bad commercial kitchen. Unfortunately, I have to add that there was no soap available in the men's toilet for several hours. Of course, the bureaucratic toilet slip was always properly signed. That says a lot about the management and appreciation of the guests.

The ballroom is a great atmosphere!!!The service was friendly and quick, the prices were reasonable.The food was only lukewarm, but at a dance class ball of this size it would be difficult to please everyone.

We were in the hall at the end of the dance school. We waited 1.5 hours for our food, although my meal was duck leg which was served cold at the end. Maybe the duck had to be caught first. The friendliness of the service also leaves a lot to be desired.

Unfortunately, "my Watzke" is no longer what it was until a few years ago. Yesterday we tried it out again. I find the now very limited menu very sad. Unfortunately, Watzke classics such as spare ribs, pork knuckle meat or the super delicious goulash soup have not been available for a long time. I decided on half a knuckle for €18.90. It is only a very small overall portion. Just a few years ago the knuckles were twice as big and the whole knuckle cost €9.99! So the price has quadrupled. Unfortunately, half the knuckle wasn't cooked long enough and the rind was soft, almost like a knuckle of pork. Not good. I won't eat knuckle there again because it wasn't the first time. Beer garden with beer is very nice in summer, unfortunately the food is no longer available and very overpriced.

We were there for dinner last night. One hall was closed for an “Oktoberfest”. The music from this hall was very loud, so that you could hardly understand your own words. It was correspondingly loud in our room. After almost 20 minutes without a waiter coming to take our order, a young waitress came who was very confident despite the busyness and noise. In this case, kudos again. Afterwards things went more smoothly with the drinks and food. Other waiters were more busy with friends at neighboring tables. We experienced it completely differently, which is a shame.

We like to come back again and again and always have very good experiences, but yesterday we were very surprised. We took a seat in the garden in the bright sun, tables and benches were not cleaned, bird droppings, (4 to 5 p.m.) Drinks were served quickly and yet unfortunately the waitress didn't notice us, we neither received a menu nor did the male attendant listen to us. One had the impression that he was unmotivated to do his work. It wasn't until the third time we asked that our order was taken. The food was delivered quickly and very empathetically by a female employee. As always, the food was beautifully prepared, tasty and very sufficient. We hope to find the usual pleasant atmosphere again on our next visit.

Food overrated! Better to visit Ribwort Plantain or Tramper nearby: authentic, large portions, delicious, without tourist flair, etc.

The beer (Alt-Pieschner) is a very tasty thing. But unfortunately some of the staff occasionally tend to make unprofessional statements - a shame!

Great beer, great atmosphere, great location

I love the Ballhaus Watzke. Delicious home-brewed beer and the cuisine is also highly recommended. If you're in the area and love hand-made beer (in addition to the 2 "standard beers", there's also a great monthly beer (don't miss the honey beer in December)), you simply have to come here. If you're lucky, you'll also be offered highlights such as the delicious Estonian light (which was the journeyman's brew in August 24). Come here!

Absolutely recommended. Better reserve. We drank three beers and all three are great. Food also very good in terms of quality and price/performance.

We went to Watzke twice at the weekend. On Friday evening at peak time. Even without a reservation, there was still a nice spot outside. Despite the fact that the hut was full, the service was as expected. Extremely attentive, quick and friendly. The food came quickly and was great. Now to the actual highlight: a wedding with around 80 people on Saturday. Even though both the outside and inside areas were super crowded, everything was under control. You rarely experience such perfect service. Everything was fine. So: big praise to everyone involved and thank you. The only deduction in the ambience is because of the scaffolding

I can only recommend bacon bratwurst (filled with goat cheese and dates) with a couscous salad. Schnitzel with potato salad is not recommended for us Swabians, as I don't think the potato salad is homemade (bucket goods). It would be better if there were fried potatoes or fries with it.

Very nice, traditional restaurant with a beer garden, hall and brewery. Menu/beer selection very varied and something for everyone. Price is a little higher.

Sat outside and enjoyed the view of Dresden. Fell straight from the bike into the beer garden. 😅👍🏻located directly on the Elbe cycle path. Tried the really delicious house beer and Watzkes No. 1 (currywurst). Only recommended. The service was super friendly and the price-performance ratio was great. 👍🏻

Every month Watzke has a changing monthly beer; Always on tap: Pilsner and Altpieschener (red-blond beer - very drinkable 😋). In the photos 2x dessert.

Next to the river Elbe and overlooking it, you can taste German cuisine in this typical restaurant. We tried "schnitzel", breaded cut of meat accompanied by potato salad and sauerkraut; all well accompanied and washed down with a craft beer that they make themselves, where the fruity touch stands out. Highly recommended.

This place is a must try if you are in Dresden. It is a little outside the center, but what a location. Right by the Elbe with real German brauhaus atmosphere and great food. And the beer is so delicious

We spontaneously went to Watzke and were really excited. We got a nice table without a reservation, the beer was tasty and the food was delicious. It was a bit loud, but that was to be expected around 7:30 p.m. and had a good brewery feel. We were back at the Watzke on August 1st, 2024 and only then discovered that it was located directly on the Elbe. We didn't see that at all in November. We were served very well again, and the food tasted very good and was plentiful. The beer was as refreshing as expected. We will definitely see each other again.

The Watzke brewery is always worth a visit. In the summer the beautiful beer garden (for me the most beautiful in Dresden) with a view of the Elbe, the Frauenkirche etc. Can't be topped. The taproom with the brewing kettle is so cozy in autumn and winter

This is the first and last time we ate there. The entire staff was very rude and not very hospitable, which was clear right from the start. We had made reservations online (with no option to choose whether inside or outside) and when they said that we could also look for tables outside, we asked if we could sit at the reserved tables there, which was met with a laugh and the sentence "Of course not "You made a reservation inside" was commented. When we still found a place, there were only two menus there. Nobody thought it was necessary to give us another 2 menus. When we ordered the first beers, they were almost thrown down so hectically that a good amount of beer spilled over and wet the table. The waiter didn't even notice it, so we cleaned it up with what was served. When we finally ordered, we ordered a bread plate (which was declared as a starter) and 4 main courses. The bread plate then came with the main courses, where of course we no longer needed it (we wanted to eat the starter BEFORE the main course). When we commented on this, the cheeky comment came back that we should have said so and the bread basket was reluctantly taken back. But that wasn't enough, one main course was wrong (probably an error in the booking process). We waited in vain for an apology - there was no information that the correct dish had been prepared. about 40!! Minutes later the real food came from the 4th person, while the rest of us had long since finished eating. My food came with the other 3 dishes as I ordered, but unfortunately the rump steak was almost completely cold - and I paid almost 30 euros for it! Overall just cheeky. The quality of the food itself was okay, but not worth the price. There was only nothing wrong with the beer, which was very tasty. The substandard service and the complete lack of hospitality pretty much spoiled the actually nice ambience, the view and the evening. If you want to avoid that, you should dine elsewhere.

Traditional brewery with a postcard-like view of Old Dresden located directly on the Elbe. Excellent beer and delicious food. Drinking under linden trees is how beer is supposed to be drunk. Prices reasonable.

Sugar cone festival celebrated today in Ballhaus Watzke. Very good organization, very good food and the service was mostly very good. Many activities for children with balloon figures, face painting and many other attractions. Thanks for the good organization. The price is also absolutely great.

I ordered the steak au four. What I got was beyond cheeky. The sauce on the steak was rather dry and the cheese looked like it had been waiting under the salamander for 30 minutes until we ate our starter. The beers were delicious, as was the view of the Elbe. The waiter was more than arrogant. A friendly hand signal is returned, explaining what that means. This was the last visit for us

After we had to organize the menu ourselves at the neighboring table in the beer garden, I wanted to show with a show of hands that we had a request. The waitress then mimicked me. Not to mention service or guest care, but you really don't have to put up with that. Really annoying experience like that. We then had a delicious halloumi pizza at Pizza Syndicate.

Terrible - have zero interest in the customers

It used to be great food and always the first port of call for a men's evening and today it's no longer worth a visit... unfortunately. Even the beer's taste has deteriorated over the years.

We were with you yesterday and wanted to thank Ms. Creutz again for the great service. We have rarely had such a great waitress with such a friendly smile on her face. We'd love to come back.

Knuckle of pork was good, but the Chicken Caesar Salad was a mess, with rock-hard pretzel croutons and swimming in dressing. The kicker was spending €18 for a minimalist ‘tour.’

The food is great so far, the beer tastes great too. Only the price increases are more noticeable in this restaurant than elsewhere Unfortunately only for special occasions, but the occupancy shows that it is apparently accepted by the market

A really beautiful place with the nostalgic, elegant, timeless charm of the turn of the century and a beer garden with a fantastic view of the Elbe and the Elbe panorama. Service was really quick for the busy evening and the food was excellent.

The food was really great and in large portions. The house's home-made beers have a unique taste and the old German-style decorations are very numerous and you can tour the brewery and look over the brewers' shoulders. One point is deducted for the relatively long waiting times for the food. Otherwise TOP!

Today we were at Watzke am Goldenen Reiter. I haven't eaten such a delicious broiler with western fries in ages. Nice service and nice ambience.

Happy in the summer, cozy in the winter. Food has become better, just a brewery with good, fresh draft beer. Staff top. The dish of shank aspic and colorful lentil salad with feta was delicious.

Classic inn with a very nice beer garden right on the Elbe. The food is hearty and well prepared, and the beer from our own brewery was particularly tasty. It was very full on the weekend, so you should reserve in advance. Recommended restaurant.
