We enjoyed an excellent culinary evening in a restaurant with a comfortable atmosphere. The young team here does a truly fantastic job, and the value for money is outstanding.
An excellent place to eat and have a great range of gluten free options. The hostess was extremely friendly and helpful. Restaurant is small and very friendly..lovely environment and atmosphere. Well worth a visit xx
I've never been to Korea and I've never eaten Korean food. I'm completely familiar with Asian cuisine, apart from Thai, Vietnamese, and Indonesian cuisine. Taste is subjective, but unfortunately I didn't like it at all, or rather, the food was tasteless. The mandus were okay, but the Sundubu Jjigae - tofu stew with seafood and vegetables - was completely unseasoned. I found about 5 pea-sized pieces of...maybe they were mussels, and a thumb-sized piece of octopus. Some onions as vegetables and a lot of mushy, mushy tofu. The Jeyuk Bokkeum - marinated pork with vegetables - also disappointed me. I was expecting fatty pork belly, maybe even crispy, but it was wafer-thin sliced beef, definitely not pork. The vegetables were modest: 2 pieces of red/yellow bell peppers, 3 sliced carrots, and a few onions. I asked for both dishes to be really spicy!! It was okay, but there was room for improvement. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I won't eat there again, but I'll definitely give Korean cuisine another chance somewhere else.
I can only recommend it. Friendly welcome even though we arrived 10 minutes before opening at 6:00 PM. Friendly service, and super tasty food. The liver is simply delicious. I'd like to enjoy it again soon. Rosi from Pesch⁶
The Em Krützche immediately impressed us with its cozy terrace and great location right in the lively heart of Cologne. Perfect for enjoying the hustle and bustle of the city while dining in a relaxed atmosphere.
We ordered the Wiener Schnitzel – and it was definitely worth the wait! It was very tasty, perfectly fried and high quality. A small negative point was the somewhat long waiting time, but the friendly service made up for it. The only point of improvement: Unfortunately, our table was very wobbly, which was a bit inconvenient.
Nevertheless, overall a clear recommendation for anyone who wants to enjoy good food in a traditional and charming atmosphere! 🍽😊
We recently visited the restaurant and would like to share our experience.
Positive:
The service was friendly and attentive.
The prices are pleasant and reasonable.
Neutral:
The ambience is OK but nothing special. We sat at the front and it was okay.
Negatives:
Some dishes were sold out, which was disappointing since we actually came specifically for these dishes.
The waiting time was quite long. Other guests who arrived later were served quicker than us.
Card payment was not possible, which was only communicated to us on site - despite having made a reservation by telephone.
The toilets were very cold as it was cold outside and the doors were open.
Overall, our visit was mixed. There are positive aspects, but also some things that could be improved.
We had dinner here last night and shared two dishes: Baba Ganoush and Falafel Teller, finishing with a delicious baklava. Everything was incredibly fresh and flavorful. The service was fast and friendly, and the quality-to-price ratio was excellent. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Cologne. Highly recommended!
