Very good, very nice, everything was delicious

We went there for a two-course goose meal. The service was very nice. The food, on the other hand, was very mediocre and overpriced! The audience averages 70 years old. Facility a bit outdated. In my opinion not a recommendation.

We discovered the restaurant by chance. We were greeted warmly at the door and I mentioned to the waitress that we had stopped by spontaneously here are. This was not a problem; We were seated immediately and also had pleasant people sitting next to us who greeted us and congratulated us on the New Year. Here the guests were long-established Cologne residents. We put together a 3-course meal and enjoyed a generous amount of beer and wine. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the service and products.

Always nice to attend our annual goose dinner in this long-established, but not stuffy, restaurant. Very nice and competent service, good wine selection and delicious desserts. The Wils Weeks in spring are also recommended.

Very nice German traditional restaurant where time has stood still. Courteous and very friendly staff who strive to ensure guest satisfaction. On December 7th, 2024 we escaped the hustle and bustle of the city center and found a quiet place here where we ate a sauerbraten with dumplings and a veal schnitzel with fried potatoes. Top cuisine, highly recommended.

Yesterday we were able to experience a very nice evening "em Krützche". In addition to the fantastic food (goose with red cabbage, chestnut dumplings and apple with cranberries) as well as a delicious Medoc, we had incredibly attentive service. The service team worked hand in hand, even the service employees who were not responsible for us were always attentive and helpful. AND!!!! We laughed so much and had so much fun with the staff, many other restaurants can learn a lesson from that, thank you very much! We'll be back!

As a non-Cologne resident, I am lucky enough to be invited to a Christmas goose dinner once a year. This has been fantastic for years (juicy and with crispy skin) and the side dishes including sauce etc are also a dream. Here the charming and always good-humoured owner also carves herself.

Traditional goose meal. Price/performance is not right. Goose menu for €66 with liquid goose fat and a simple cheap roll, as well as small goose and meat portions.

Beautiful location with perfect, friendly service. My dog ​​was given water as soon as we arrived. The goose menu was extremely tasty and the wine recommendation was excellent. The white wine was also excellent. Clear recommendation 👍

Great place, atmospheric, tasty specialities

Unfortunately, the goose fat before the goose meal was liquid. There was also a simple, baked 08/15 roll. What was missing here was a nice slice of bread with a crust. The soup was not seasoned. The lamb's lettuce was underwhelming. The goose portions were very small. For €66, far too expensive for the quality👎

We were greeted very friendly and got a great table for two without a reservation. The food was exceptionally good. (Goose liver terrine, sauerbraten with dumplings, Maultaschen with black pudding filling) Price-performance fits perfectly! Although the restaurant is on the fine side, the price was great for two. approx. 75€

I usually only write good reviews. But what we experienced there today still concerns me hours later. Very nicely covered. Waitress (trainee) also super nice. Had to wait an hour for the food. It doesn't work at all. To eat. The salad was a disaster, as was the potato salad in water sauce and carelessly served on a small bowl. With 2 mini schnitzels for 28€. impudence. Went there with 13 people and paid €490. If I had been alone I wouldn't have paid for my schnitzel with the “potato salad”. The soup wasn't bad but nothing special. Mixed throughout. It's more for tourists who never come back. I'm so disappointed that it doesn't exist.

A very cozy restaurant, very nice and attentive service, delicious food... Cologne was worth it.

Pretty, time-honored restaurant right on the Rhine. As a starter we shared the goose liver terrine with apple and ginger salad (see photo). Really delicious! I had the pike perch with herb risotto, my wife had the Wiener schnitzel with spaetzle instead of potato salad. Both very good and at moderate prices. Very friendly and attentive service.

The restaurant is centrally located with a view of the Rhine and the Hohenzollern Bridge. You can sit outside as well as inside. The price level is a little higher but the quality is good. I would particularly like to mention the good service from our waitress Bekim. The little one is lucky to have such a good employee. He was very attentive, friendly and quick. He knew how to deal with the guests. The food was very tasty.

I hesitated at first because there is no Kölsch there. Looking back, I'm glad the four of us stopped there. The staff was super friendly and quick, special requests were fulfilled and we sat comfortably outside. The main thing: every dish was great. From the potato soup to risotto, Viennese schnitzel and beef liver to the redfish fillet: everything is top notch, perfectly cooked, simply delicious.

Our first meal in Cologne. We are sharing the pictures. It is a place with a beautiful and old architecture on the banks of the Rhine river. The food was close to our taste.

The food was average and overpriced. I can't recommend this place to tourists, especially those who don't speak German or are vegetarian. Ordered a vegetarian soup from an English menu, confirmed it's meat free nature with the waiter, yet unfortunately I still ended up sausage in it.

really bad. I have no idea how it came to have a one-star Michelin in 2018. As of 2024, food is poor. There are far more decent places in Cologne than this. Beers... nothing to report, traditional and simple.

We had a really, really excellent evening at the EM Krützche. In addition to the best Rhenish food and a convivial atmosphere, there were also friendly conversations with the staff. We had a lot of fun and we look forward to seeing you again soon :)

Well-kept terrace directly on the Rhine promenade. Nowhere in the old town are guests better served.

Have enjoyed coming there for years. This time we waited two hours for the food, which came in dribs and drabs, and side dishes were added upon request. The drinks bill was presented in advance, as the waitress was supposed to continue working in the house (?), but she remained on the terrace. Service bad but nice. Dear people, if you have staff problems, take fewer reservations or accept fewer walk-ins on the terrace. Talk to the guests. They have more understanding than you think. Otherwise, as with us, the only thing left is to stay away as a guest.

Wow, such great food and service despite being in a location that doesn’t demand it. The Salmon and potato dish was heavenly.

We visited on a Saturday night in March, without a table reservation. Got a table straight away without any problem. We were seated in a room on the second floor. Not many other guests there, so nice and quiet. Cosy atmosphere, a bit nostalgic. Felt like this was probably a really fancy place back in the days (80's) and the interior decoration was still in the same style. So a bit outdated perhaps, but nothing wrong with that. Quaint and cosy. Very nice service. Our waiter was friendly, service minded and came to check that everything was okay every once in a while. We did not feel we had to wait for our food any longer than customary. The waiter also gave us nice tips about the food on the menu, when asked, which was very kind. The food was good. Perhaps not exactly to our taste, but well cooked, tasty and nicely plated. We could not complain about anything. A very nice experience.

The four of us sat very nicely inside at a table near the entrance. The service was very nice and accommodating. The potato soup only had three small pieces of meat, but tasted good. The Rhenish Sauerbraten was very tender and tasted very good. But there could be more spaetzle on the plate than satiety. The very expensive ice cream over €10 consists of two small scoops of ice cream and cold raspberry jam and lots of cream.

One of the worst restaurants I've ever been to. The restaurant is absolutely overpriced for the quality and all the dishes were of poor quality/tasted bad. We ordered a goat's cheese salad for €17. We got green lettuce leaves, some of which were already completely moldy and poorly dressed, 1 cocktail tomato, 1 radish and 3 tiny slices of goat's cheese. The vegetable variation for €20 consisted of 2 sliced ​​potatoes and some cabbage, which only tasted like the roux. The fried potatoes on the schnitzel were burnt. The service was very nice at first. When they noticed that we were dissatisfied with the food, they ignored us as much as possible and took the full plates away without comment. Despite negative feedback, we had to pay for the meal in full.

My mother's review: On February 24th, 2024 I celebrated my 80th birthday in the Krützche. We were 27 people. There was only a positive response from all the demanding ones. Every detail was perfect, the beautiful fireplace room was lovingly decorated, the menu was a highlight, and the service was perfect. An all-round worthy event! The next celebration is always “Em Krützche”.

A very special place to feel good

Apart from the dirty tablecloths, there was an inattentive service that in 1.5 hours only managed to bring me 3 small pilsners, forget my side salad (no one was there to point it out) and be rude. Unfortunately completely unsuitable for a special occasion that was planned. Of course, it is difficult to find skilled workers these days, I understand that. But that won't work with temporary workers who have no idea. Disappointing.

The service takes forever for everything, the bread was bone dry, the food was somewhat ok. The bad thing is that you give the impression (silver cutlery, white tablecloth and napkins, emphatically formal service, etc.) as if you were a better restaurant, but then fail miserably at everything. There are enough good breweries nearby, it's better to go there.

Tolle Lage direkt am Rhein. Neben dem urigen Gastraum im Erdgeschoss gibt es weitere Gasträume in der ersten Etage. Man sitzt etwas beengt und wenn es voll ist (als wir da waren, war es sehr voll) ist es schon recht laut. Die Servicekräfte waren sehr freundlich und wirklich bemüht. Unter den gegebenen Umständen am Samstagabend im Advent kein leichter Job. Jede Einschränkung einer guten Bewertung wäre hier ungerecht. Wir waren zu viert und hatten Gänsebraten (eine ganze Gans für vier) vorbestellt. Davor gibt es einen kleinen Salat. Die Gans wird im Gastraum am bzw vor dem Tisch zerlegt und dann in zwei Gängen serviert. Wir essen jedes jahr in der Weihnachtszeit mehrmals Gänsebraten. Wir hatten schon schlechtere aber auch schon bessere. Diese hier war guter Durchschnitt und insgesamt OK. Das Gesamterlebnis im Krützche war gut, ich würde das weiterempfehlen. Preisgefüge: Deutlich gehoben, muss man wollen.

Schönes Ambiente, leckeres Essen, grosse Preise, kleine Portionen.

Am Nikolaustag 2023 haben wir mit unserem Herren-Club das viel gerühmte Restaurant „Em Krützche“ zur Mittagszeit aufgesucht. Unser Ziel: ein vergnüglicher Nachmittag beim hochgelobten Gänseessen in der Kölner Altstadt. Der Tisch war daher lange im Voraus gebucht. Uns empfängt ein tolles Ambiente mit stilvoller Einrichtung. Holzvertäfelungen und Delfter Kacheln vermitteln eine rustikale, gutbürgerliche Gastlichkeit! Der Kellner führt uns ins „Kölner-Zimmer“, ein historisches Schmuckstückchen zum „Wohlfühlen“! Wir werden am Tisch für 6 Personen direkt am Fenster platziert. Wer groß ist, hat Pech gehabt, die Fensterbank drückt unerlässlich in den Rücken. Nach kurzer Zeit habe ich Kreuzschmerzen. Dann passiert erstmal nichts mehr. Als der Kellner dann endlich noch mal kommt und nach den Getränken fragt, empfiehlt er uns einen teuren und recht gut schmeckenden Rotwein, natürlich von der Ahr. Den dürfen wir aber nicht versuchen, die Gläser werden einfach voll gekippt. Die Chefin kommt und zeigt uns eine gebratene ganze Gans und verschwindet dann wieder, um diese irgendwo zu tranchieren. Wir hatten Folgendes bestellt: - Ein kleiner Feldsalat in Kartoffeldressing vorweg serviert ¼ Hafermastgans - knusprig gebraten - in zwei Gängen serviert - zur Brust: Bratapfel, Maronen, Birnenkartoffeln (gebackener Kartoffelschnee) - zur Keule: mit Apfel- Rotkohl und hausgemachten Kartoffelklößen zum heute leider üblichen und überzogenen Preis von 49,50 €. Der einfach angemachte Feldsalat ist lecker. Was dann kommt - verschlägt uns die Sprache. Lieblos auf den Teller „geschmissene“ Lebensmittel, in keiner Weise nett oder gar geschmackvoll angerichtete Speisen – das Auge isst bekannterweise mit! Ein kleines Stückchen von einer Entenbrust, die Haut hängt quer über den Teller. Die aus Kartoffelschnee geformte Birne ist umgefallen, zerdrückt und deren essbarer Stiel liegt halb unter der Birne. Der gefüllte Bratapfel hätte durchaus auch etwas netter angerichtet werden können. Nachdem wir die kleine Portion gegessen hatten, kommt unmittelbar die „Gänsekeule“. Ein riesiger Unterschenkel-Knochen mit noch weniger Gänsefleisch als an dem Bruststückchen. Ich bin still, mein Nachbar hat noch weniger! Der Rotkohl schmeckt sehr gut und bringt ein wenig Farbe ins Spiel. Rotkohl aus dem Glas esse ich wirklich gerne! Der eine hausgemachte Knödel schmeckt mehlig und mir gar nicht. Da wir jetzt noch alle Hunger haben, bestellen wir noch Espresso und „Zimt-Parfait mit marinierten Pflaumen“ als Dessert. Unser „Halbgefrorenes“ Zimteis ist so knochenhart gefroren, dass wir es kaum zu essen wissen – wir lassen es einfach auftauen, dann geht’s. Wir bestellen die Rechnung: Gans in zwei Gängen, Dessert, Wein, Mineralwasser und Espressi mit ein wenig Trinkgeld – so ungefähr 1oo,- € wechseln pro Person den Besitzer! Wir gehen in unsere Herrengesellschaft 12-mal im Jahr essen. Der Monat Dezember hat uns für dieses Jahr das mit Abstand schlechteste Preis/Leistungs-Verhältnis beschert! Unsere nächste Gans wir ganz sicher nicht mehr in der Kölner Altstadt serviert! Am frühen Abend komme ich nach Hause und meine Frau fragt mich, ob ich noch Abendessen möchte. Dem Nikolaus sei Dank – jetzt werde ich doch noch satt …

Essen Nettes Ambiente und Lokal. Leider sehr hektisch und chaotisch. Der Service in Beratung und Aufmerksamkeit eher schlecht. Auf Fragen und Kritik wird nicht eingegangen. Erst nach 30 Minuten und fragen unsererseits konnten wir eine Getränkebestellung abgeben. Nach den Karten mussten wir erneut fragen. Für eine Erklärung oder Beratung war keine Zeit. Die Chefin beharrt auf ihrer Sicht. Extrem hektisch und wenig offen für Kritik und Anmerkungen der Kunden. Das Essen war gut aber nicht top. Das Brot viel zu trocken. Die zwei Gänge Gans haben sehr lange auf sich warten lassen mit zu langer Pause dazwischen. Der Bratapfel war nicht fertig gegart. Ich kann Stress in der Vorweihnachtszeit verstehen aber muss es nicht ausbaden. Wir würden nicht wieder hingehen.

Gepflegte Gastlichkeit und gute Küche. Für viele angesichts der rummeligen Umgebung mit offensiver Werbung um neue Gäste sicher unerwartet. Und dann verweigern die Wirtsleute seit Jahrzehnten auch noch den Kölsch Ausschank und servieren statt dessen Pils! Ein deutlicher Hinweis, dass hier vieles richtig gemacht wird. (Damit lehne ich keineswegs den Genuss eines frisch gezapften Kölschs ab!) Klare Empfehlung, gerade auch für das Gänse Menü rund um den St. Martins-Tag.

Eigentlich ist das Restaurant ein typisches kölner Wohnzimmer mit Kölner Decke und schön geschmückten Räumen..... Aber die Speisen (Gänsbraten, Hirschmedallions, Sauerbraten, Tafelspitz) waren eher Brauhausdurchschnitt. Der Service war klar überfordert... wenn auch gut gewillt. 90 Minuten vergingen bis zur Vorspeise, eine weitere halbe Stunde bis zum Servieren des ersten Hauptgerichtes. Gemeinsames Speisen daher nur über ein Zeitraum von 10 Minuten möglich..... Es fühlte sich wirklich etwas hilflos an. Trotzdem werden wir im neuen Jahr nochmals einen Besuch wagen.

Vertrauenswürdige Küche auf gutem Niveau mit tollem Service. Die Patronin hat Personal und Gäste im Blick. Spät angekommen gab es noch zwei sehr ordentliche Wiener Schnitzel mit leckeren Bratkartoffeln und frischem Salat. Bier und Wein gut. Tolle Desserts. Digestif ohne Fehl und Tadel. Empfehlung.

Essen ist sehr lecker, nur der Service war etwas chaotisch. Es gibt hier kein Kölsch, dafür ein sehr leckeres Eifelbräu.

The building is a piece of history but I do NOT recommend this place to eat - it was empty and the 4 waiters available cleaning glasses took them 10min to bring the water. Which is 7€. The food took almost 35min for some sausage, potatoe patties and salmon (too salty). Quality is okish. Not outstanding at all. Prices were expensive, I felt very cheated. You better eat at the Christmas market. Not a pleasant experience.

Die Bedienung war schlecht, das Brot mit Schmalz kam nach dem Vorspeisensalat und war knochentrocken. Biergläser wurden nicht abgeräumt. Die Sauce zum 2. Gang war kalt. Empfehlen werde ich dieses Restaurant niemanden mehr.

Leider hatten wir als 14köpfige Gruppe kein schönes Erlebnis, wir werden nicht mehr in dieses Traditionslokal essen gehen. Das Timing des Personals bzw. der Küche war denkbar schlecht. Zunächst dauerte es 2,5 Std bis wir überhaupt etwas bekamen, dann kamen teilweise die Beilagen zum Hauptgericht vor der Vorspeise (der Salat mit Ziegenkäse schmeckte leider wässrig), Brötchen mit Quark wurden dann leider versehentlich nach den Vorspeisen und Suppen gereicht. Beim Fisch wurde die Remoulade vergessen(sie tauchte nie auf). Bei den Gänsen (lt Karte 1/4 Gans/Person) wurden 2 Gänse auf 9 Personen verteilt, das Fleisch war leider recht trocken. Zusätzlich bestellte Bratkartoffeln zu jedem der 2 Gansgänge kamen beide Male als alle schon aufgegessen hatten. Und beim ersten Gang gab es viel zu wenig Sauce…. Der Nachtisch des Menüs kam 1,5 Std nach der Hauptspeise. Es war sehr viel Betrieb, sehr laut im Saal, das Unterhalten schwierig. Das Personal war freundlich, aber das Essen leider kein Genuss!

Wir haben nach einem schönen Restaurant zum Mittagessen gesucht und sind auf Em Krützche gestoßen. Die Lage, am Rhein, tut natürlich ihr übriges .. Man fühlt sich, beim Eintreten, etwas in die gute alte Zeit versetzt, was sehr positiv gemeint ist. Das Lokal wurde sehr voll zur Mittagszeit, was nur für die Qualität sprechen kann. Und so war es. Wir waren wirklich begeistert von den Gerichten. Auch die direkt charmant kölsche Art der Mitarbeiter gefiel uns gut. Was zu erwähnen ist: es gibt kein Kölsch zu trinken! Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Delicious salad with piled high greens and lovely goat medallions with a honey drizzle and candied walnut atop. The dressing is simple and not as overdressed as most salads seem to be. The staff is super friendly. I loved it so much I came back two nights in a row. And I ordered the latkes on the second visit which were sublime. I recommend to come here if you’re visiting or even living in Köln.

Köstliches Essen direkt am Anfang der Kölner Altstadt. Das Service-Personal ist sehr pfiffig, freundlich und aufmerksam.

Hirschmedaillons mit Spätzle und Wirsing, die Spätzle und der Wirsing war abgezählt und die Spätzle in der Pfanne warm gemacht. Das Fleisch war in Ordnung. Das zweite Gericht kam später. Rheinischersauerbraten mit Spätzle und Apfelmus. Auch hier die Spätzle in der Pfanne war gemacht und abgezählt. Die Soße war die schlechteste die ich zu einem Rheinischensauerbraten bekommen habe.Das Fleisch war in Ordnung. Kurzum keine Empfehlung, wir gehen bestimmt nicht mehr hin.

Das Essen war geschmacklich gut, die Portionen aber klein und die Preise happig. Der Service war unterirdisch schlecht. Im Lokal war es laut, obwohl die Tische nur zur Hälfte besetzt waren. Es hätte uns zu denken geben sollen, dass es das einzige Lokal war, wo niemand im Außenbereich gesessen hat, während die Lokale daneben gut besucht waren. Es gibt viele empfehlenswerte Lokale in Köln, dieses gehört nicht dazu.

Abendessen sehr gut,aber relativ hochpreisig. Leider passt der Service nicht zum Rest. Sehr lustlos und Ignorant. Getränke trotz mehrfacher Erinnerung nicht gebracht. Keine Nachfrage,wie es geschmeckt hat. Die Chefin kümmerte sich nur um offensichtliche Stammgäste. Kein freundliches Wort. Da muss man in Köln nicht hin!

Ein schönes und begehrtes Restaurant mit Blick auf den Rhein.

Wir haben nur zwei Getränke bestellt. Gleich nach dem die Getränke gebracht wurden wollten wir zahlen. Hat leider nicht funktioniert, wir mussten noch zweimal Bescheid sagen, bis endlich jemand zum kassieren kam. Hat alles in allem eine 1/2 Stunde gedauert. Nicht noch mal.

Es hat uns hier so gut gefallen und so ein leckeres Essen, dass wir auf unserem Kurztrip in Köln gleich an beiden Abenden hier gegessen haben. Wir können es ruhigen Gewissens weiter empfehlen.

Nach einem Besuch im Musical sind wir in Richtung Kölner Altstadt gegangen und sind dabei auf " Em Krützchen " gestoßen. Es passte weil es in der Nähe vom Rhein war und es waren draußen noch Tische frei. Der Kellner war sehr schnell an unserem Tisch und zum Glück mit der Speicherkarte. Ich hatte mir Reibekuchen mit Lachs und Sauerrahmsoße bestellt. Meine Tochter hat sich einen Salatteller ausgesucht. Dabei ein Bitburger und Malzbier. Die Reibekuchen waren sehr lecker und ganz wichtig, selbst gemacht. Der Salat war reichlich und auch sehr lecker. Preise sind natürlich in Lage immer etwas höher aber trotzdem bezahlbar. Ein besonderer Lob an die Kellnerin und Kellner, sehr freundlich und locker. Also im ganzen zu empfehlen. Es ist natürlich kein Gourmet Restaurant wollten wir auch nicht hin.
