Rundherum wunderbar, Essen, Service, Ambiente alles top! Das Restaurant sehr gepflegt und der kleine Biergarten ist im Sommer ein schöner Ort für einen gelungenen Aufenthalt! Wir kommen seit vier Generationen mittlerweile immer gerne wieder und sind dankbar, dass es so etwas noch gibt!

Wir haben das Haus gestern zum ersten Mal besucht und hatten zu zweit Glück mit dem Tisch, denn ohne Reservierung bekommt man normalerweise keinen Platz. Es war viertel vor sechs. Haus Scholzen bietet ein tolles Ambiente, sauber und gepflegt. Ein echt schönes Restaurant nach kölscher Art. Wir bestellten ein Cordon Bleu und ein Jägerschnitzel. Es war optisch toll angerichtet und keine platt geklopfte „ Panadenplatte“. Eher ein Schweinerückensteak. Ja und natürlich hat es auch lecker geschmeckt. Der fein gezupfte Salat kam in einer grosszügigen Schüssel separat und war lecker mit einem Joghurtdressing angemacht. Die Menge an Pommes, deren Farbe und Geschmack entsprachen unseren Vorstellungen. Die Sauce Hollondaise beim Cordon Bleu sowie das Salatdressing kamen eindeutig nicht aus einer Fertigzubereitung sondern waren selbst angerührt. Das Jägerschnitzel stand auch vom Kalb zur Auswahl. Unsere Bedienung war immer zum richtigen Zeitpunkt bei uns. Es war gut und wir kommen wieder. Wir sind dann noch bis halb elf an der Theke geblieben. Es gibt eine ziemlich große Auswahl an Schnäpsen und Likeuren😊 Noch ein Tip: Bier statt Wein dann ist Rechnung etwas kleiner.

Old Ehrenfeld tradition. I can only recommend!

Ended up here on the recommendation of the hotel staff. Obviously not reserved but arrived early. As long as we got out before 8pm. No problem. We had a really delicious meal and the service was great. The restaurant was also packed with local people. That says enough. Highly recommended.

Service very attentive and friendly. A big compliment for the composure and patience during service despite the high volume and noise level in the busy brewery. The location is lovingly furnished, just by the oil paintings in pompous frames on the walls. The food is also very tasty and recommended. Despite the full house, not a long wait 👍

The restaurant is very quaint but with a lot of charm. Great old inn. The service is very nice and quick. The menu offers a great selection of different Cologne classics. The cordon bleu was juicy and tender. The sauce went great with it. The salad and fries were sufficient and also tasty. Schnitzel also looked very, very good. The portions are great and the prices are okay. In addition to Kölsch, the restaurant also offers various old schnapps and wines. We'd love to come back :)

Traditional Cologne house. But the Wiener Schnitzel (pork) with the asparagus was more thick pressed meat than the softly pounded version from Vienna. No lemon for schnitzel. Hollandaise in a mini cup. Service great, atmosphere good, but what's going on in the kitchen???

Old traditional house in a family business with local cuisine. Very good food and great service. In summer you can also sit outside. If you don't want to eat, you can also drink a delicious Kölsch at the bar. You should definitely make a reservation to eat here.

Last Thursday we had dinner here with a small group of 9 people. I can't say anything negative. Everyone without exception liked and enjoyed it. We were here on the recommendation of my wife and I, everyone knows the situation. We are asked where we can go and it happens that of all times, it doesn't fit. But we have never been disappointed here. This evening too, with eating, drinking and damage, time passed far too quickly. On behalf of our group, I would like to thank Haus Scholzen, the service, the kitchen, and the entire team.

Wir kennen das Haus Scholzen schon seit vielen Jahren und schätzen die köstlichen Speisen sehr. Leider mussten wir heute feststellen, das die Klassiker, wie Jägerschnitzel und Senfrostbraten, nicht in gewohnter Qualität auf den Tisch kamen. Keine cremige Champignon- sosse und ein durchgegartes Rumpsteak (medium bestellt) mit aufgestrichenem Senf und Zwiebelauflage,keine Senfzwiebelkruste wie gewohnt. Auf Nachfrage der freundlichen Bedienung haben wir unsere Unzufriedenheit kund getan, wurden danach nur zur Kasse gebeten und mussten sehr unzufrieden und mit einem faden Gefühl nach Hause gehen.

If you walk along Venloer Straße you wouldn't think you'd find such a great restaurant. I know the Scholzen house from around 40 years ago. I am really excited. The ambience, the food, everything like it used to be. Just great. We will be back!!!!

Four of us ate here and drank a few beers. The food is good home cooking, very tasty and plentiful. The portions are decent and the prices are reasonable. The ambience is “bourgeois” and partly outdated. But you feel good! The service was perfect. Very nice service, drinks came "without asking" and quickly.

Large rooms, noisy when full... Food was very meat-heavy. Big portion. No aperitif after dinner, a shame. This would even be from our own house (schnapps). I won't visit the store again. Still, all the best

We were lucky to get a table without a reservation. It's best to reserve in advance if you want to go there spontaneously. The house was super full and very loud. You literally had to shout at each other to have a conversation. The waiters were quick, but didn't seem hectic or stressed. That made the atmosphere very relaxed. We were warned that it would take 45 minutes to eat. We accepted that and were not disappointed. The menu is manageable, but only offers homemade, Rhenish dishes. I had the minced steak, which was a bit too salty for me, but overall was very tasty with the boiled potatoes and broccoli on the side. The homemade cheesecake was also amazing. It's a shame that you don't see such long-established restaurants so often anymore. If you want really good German cuisine, I can only recommend this restaurant.

I visited this place to try out their Schnitzel and it did not disappoint! The house special Schnitzel, served with a creamy sauce, was absolutely delicious. It came with crispy fries and a nicely dressed salad. The Kölsch beer was great too. The atmosphere was cozy and the staff were friendly. Worth visiting if you're in Cologne.

A typical Cologne inn. The Kölsch is brought to your table very quickly. Running! You probably need to make a reservation for dinner. There was hardly anything that could be done. Until we figured that out, we were left a bit clueless. The information could actually have come directly with the Kölsch. Interestingly, many - seemingly regular guests - were greeted very directly. So it would have been possible in principle. We are diagonally opposite to the Greeks. Then things immediately turn out differently...

A rustic Cologne restaurant with lots of guests, very good food and old flair. Unfortunately there are big parking problems, but otherwise recommended.

Zum Service und dem Essen-Trinken wurde viel Lobenswertes geschrieben- was ich gerne vollständig bestätige ! Was mir fehlte, ist die Erwähnung des wunderschönen Biergartens! (Geheimtipp ?) Hier geht man nicht hin, im gesehen zu werden, sondern zum Genießen ! Weiter so- schön, daß es euch gibt!

Delicious food at acceptable prices with attentive service in a well-kept atmosphere

Despite not having a reservation, I spontaneously got (the last) table on a Friday evening, and it was worth it: excellent food (Kölsch anyway), service quick and friendly, lively but not excessively loud atmosphere, all at fair prices (although not a bargain, but appropriate).

We went here yesterday on the recommendation of the reviews for food and were very impressed with the welcome, the ambience and the food. I can only warmly recommend the restaurant. It is best to make a reservation in the evening due to the high number of people.

Wir waren nun schön häufiger im Haus Scholzen zu Gast. Bisher hatten wir bei jedem unserer Besuche immer ein super leckeres Essen. Von der Vorspeise (Reibekuchen mit Lachs oder Tatar) oder den Hauptspeisen, sei es das Schnitzel oder der Senfrostbraten etc. waren die Speisen immer ausgezeichnet. Was man auch unbedingt erwähnen muss, ist die sehr freundliche Art des Personals bzw. der Familie. Man fühlt sich einfach direkt wohl und willkommen. Es ist zwar im Gegensatz zu anderen Lokalitäten vielleicht ein oder zwei Euro teurer aber das sollte es einem definitiv wert sein. Daher werden wir uns wohl zu Stammgästen entwickeln.

We regularly eat at Haus Scholzen and have NEVER been served bad food and unpleasant service!!! We have a small dog and our four-legged friend is always provided with a treat and water! We can only rate Haus Scholzen as very good and recommend it!!! We celebrated my birthday on March 1st at Haus Scholzen with 17 people. After consultation with the junior boss, eating a la cart was possible! Drinks, starters, main courses and dessert or coffee espresso, digestif were served promptly! None of my guests had to wait for their food and we were all able to enjoy the good food together!!! The service was once again simply excellent, even though there was another birthday party there and the restaurant was very full!!! We always feel like we are in good hands at Haus Scholzen and can therefore only give it full points!!!

Dont walk to this place, RUN!. Omg this was amazing German food. The food was excellent, everything is so typical and authentic. The service was great, the lady who served us was really nice and helpful. The owner might seem a bit harsh but he is actually really sweet and funny. We didn’t have dessert because we were so full but I am sure they must be great. I had the spaetzle and they were so delicious that I want to swim in it. The atmosphere was great, the decoration is very German, the light could be a bit softer, it was very bright but that just my personal preference. Also don’t forget to finish your meal with a schnapps.

WE LIKE GOING TO SCHOLZ EAT. YESTERDAY ON 03/22/24 I CELEBRATED MY 70TH BIRTHDAY THERE WITH THE FAMILY. There were 16 people in the bistro just for ourselves. FOOD AS ALWAYS SUPER DELICIOUS. We visited Haus Scholzen in Ehrenfeld for the first time at the end of February. We were extremely satisfied with both the food and the service. We'd love to come back. The restaurant is also very easy to reach by public transport. We took the regional express to Cologne Ehrenfeld.

There's nothing to say about Kölsch. The food is of a good standard, and of course you pay accordingly. You should try the house specialty “Scholzens Flönzchen” (even if it’s only once).

Sehr voll, aber das ist verständlich. Viele Karnevalsgruppen im Januar und sehr laut. Das ist nun mal köln. Aufmerksame Bedienungskräfte. Leckeres Essen. Es war auch innerhalb von 30 Minuten serviert. Unbedingt vorher reservieren.

Tolles Lokal mit Hausmannskost und kölschen Spezialitäten. Ein Scholzens Jagd zur Verdauung sollte man auf jeden Fall genießen oder auch zwei. Jetzt nach einigen Jahren wieder dort gewesen. Toller Service, Essen immer noch super und der Scholzens Jagd schmeckt immer noch gut

Wir waren zu acht Personen zum Abendessen im Haus Scholzen und es war ein rundum gelungener Abend. Phantastisches Essen, schneller, freundlicher Service und eine tolle Atmosphäre. Sowohl der Fisch, als auch das Schnitzel vom Hirsch mit zwei Domspitzen und Salat waren ein Gedicht; gab’s von der Tageskarte. Alles in allem: sehr empfehlenswert.

Ich gehe hier seitdem ich 2 bin hin und es wie ein zweites Zuhause.Meine ganze Familie liebt diesen Laden und das gutbürgerliche aber durchaus gehoben servierte und kredenzte Essen sehr. Professioneller Service der nicht kündigt trotz Corona.Man merkt wie viel Liebe und Herzblut die Familie Scholzen hier reingibt.Ich war mit meiner Familie schon gefühlte 1000 mal hier und wurde nie im Ansatz enttäuscht.Konstante Top Qualität zu zwar gehobeneren Preisen aber bei der Qualität absolut gerechtfertigt. Ich liebe diesen Laden!

Wer kölsche Gerichte essen und dazu noch ein paar Alternativen auf der Karte haben möchte, isst hier richtig. Es schmeckt ja immer total Klasse hier, aber diesmal kann ich wirklich sagen: "Wie bei Muttern", besser geht einfach nicht mehr. 👍 Wichtig: Frühzeitig Reservieren, es wollen viele freundlich bedient werden und gut essen und trinken.

Seit ich denken kann, ist ein Besuch im Haus Scholzen immer sehr schön. Ich war schon als kleines Kind mit meinen Großeltern oft dort zum Essen. Für mich ist es schon Tradition.

Uriges alteingesessenes Lokal. Das Kölsch ist frisch, der Service flott und freundlich und das Essen deftig gut. Sehr zu empfehlen ist der Kümmelschnaps mit Scheibe Blutwurst (Flönz) und Senf, quasi ein kölscher Tequila. Vollumfänglich zu empfehlen
