Great food but had to rush out because the cigarette smell from outside was giving me a headache. Wish they could smoke away from the door :( Make reservations very small place.

5 of us had an amazing dinner here on Saturday night. The Octopus was absolutely wonderful! Service, drinks and all the dishes we had were amazing. We would highly recommend dropping in for a bite to eat when in Cologne.

On the train to Cologne, we were looking for a restaurant near our hotel and came across Restaurant Brücken. Based on the good reviews, we sent a reservation request by email and received a very quick and positive response. We were looking forward to a delicious dinner and were not disappointed. The restaurant is small and cozy. The staff is very friendly, and we felt very comfortable. The food was delicious. Unfortunately, we were so full that we didn't have room for dessert. We would definitely eat here again.

The schnitzel with mushroom sauce is huge but delicious! It has a little bit of cheese baked on the top. Yum! The potatoes are some of the best I have had. Top it off with a Gaffel Kölsch and the day is perfect. Small place. Reservations recommended but don’t sleep on this place.

The Brucken is our favorite restaurant!! We love Tonya and her staff! Her restaurant is small but packs a mighty punch for the German palate! She delivers spectacular fare from the most mouth watering meatballs - we order them every time we go!! My husband always gets the same Schnitzel with the cheese & mushrooms. I’m the adventurous one that always tries whatever she has on special from the venison to the duck, lamb etc. We’ve been coming here for years now! I’m embarrassed to say it has taken me over 4 years to write this review. Please make sure to send her an email before you go - even if it’s the same day. She’s quick to respond to confirm your reservation. Call too if you like! Especially in the cooler months or rainy days - you will want or need to sit inside and the seating is extremely limited. Also be aware of the various holidays here in Germany kicking off on Nov 11th each year with parades this is crazy busy everywhere. Summertime you can often walk up & grab a table outside without a reservation or just a short wait. Enjoy!!

This quaint little spot in Köln near the famous kölner dom was SO delicious! The staff was friendly and accommodating and the service was prompt. If I’m ever in the area again I would definitely love to go again!

I went into the restaurant alone and asked for a table for one person. The lady who served me was quite friendly, but said she could only serve me at the counter (tiny, with no room to eat). I said I would wait, and she said there was no waiting time. Meanwhile, a table for two became available, and she didn't even offer it to me! I thought it was better to go somewhere else! Apparently, foreigners aren't welcome at this restaurant! The only bad experience I had in Germany!

It’s a cold and rainy night, and we didn’t want to walk too far. So, we decided to try this restaurant near our hotel. Since it was late and cold, the dining room wasn’t too crowded. We quickly ordered our food. Everything was fresh and delicious, except for one small detail. We didn’t pay much attention, and the waitress didn’t inform us that the main dish would come with a salad. So, we ended up having more salad than we could eat, but it was still good.

Based on the positive reviews, we reserved a table at Restaurant Brücken and dined there with a total of nine people. And we can only agree with the positive reviews. Delicious food, very friendly and cheerful service, and good value for money. We say THANK YOU for a wonderful evening.

The food is delicious, looks good, and smells good. The service was a bit confusing, with three people serving, but very attentive and courteous. A definite recommendation.

Sea bass was 23€ Octopus was between 25-28€, I don't remember exactly. Beers were 3€ It was very good. Service was fast, and the staff was polite and friendly. Well done. 💖

We made a reservation for the evening by email in the morning. Great communication, and they responded by asking approximately when we'd be there. We arrived in the evening, gave our reservation name, and were promptly shown to our table. Then the menu appeared, and five minutes later our drinks order was taken. After another five minutes, our drinks arrived and our food was prepared. The food arrived within 15 minutes and was absolutely delicious. We'd love to come back if we're ever in Cologne again.

We stumbled upon this place by chance, and it was a success! We were walking by and asked if we could browse the menu. We were. We immediately decided to eat there too. The service was extremely friendly, and the food was exceptional. Highly recommended!

Unassuming, unbeatable! A fantastic restaurant with excellent food and a truly excellent wine selection. Greek starters and a top-notch steak for the main course, accompanied by roast potatoes, just like mom used to make. Hats off to the place. We'll definitely be back. Six out of five stars.

Last week, I made a spontaneous detour here from the Bierbörse and discovered another wonderful Cologne restaurant. A friendly, humorous owner welcomed us courteously and served delicious delicacies. I would classify the cuisine as upscale, with a fusion of Greek cuisine. This adds a Mediterranean flair. The service and organization were remarkably good, and the insecurity of two younger employees, who were always on hand to ask a few questions, gave the whole place a familiar feel. Definitely worth a repeat visit.

We were looking for a restaurant near our hotel and found Restaurant Brücken. We arrived spontaneously without a reservation. There wasn't really a free spot, but we were seated spontaneously and courteously in an adjoining room. 👍 The food was excellent, delicious, and freshly prepared. The owners also served with calmness and a great sense of humor. Highly recommended. If we're ever in Cologne again, we'd be happy to come back, but we'd recommend making a reservation, which is recommended. Thanks again.

What a nice cozy restaurant close to the train station. The food is really good. I prefered the steak over the schnitzel, but overal really well made. The people here are very nice as well. Feels like a small family bussiness. I love these restaurants. Good food, enough food, good staff and authentic love for food and service. Must visit! - Salmon was superb! - Schnitzel was authentic and you get A LOT - Steak was very well made, top quality piece of meat and sear!

Restaurant Brücken delivered one of the best meals of our entire trip. The menu is full of unique and thoughtful dishes, and they went above and beyond to accommodate our gluten-free needs with ease. Every bite was incredible. The service team was warm and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Both owners stopped by our table, sharing their passion for the food, wine, and their city—a personal touch you don’t often experience. We even enjoyed a glass of dessert wine with one of them (and yes, it was delicious!). Conveniently located close to the train station, it still feels genuinely German and far from the typical tourist path. Hands down, our top meal in Köln. Highly recommend!

Lovely restaurant with warm service and a beautiful setting, with windows that open into the street. We thoroughly enjoyed the fish dishes we had here, which was a welcome change from heavy meats. Everything tasted absolutely wonderful, well balanced and in very generous portion sizes. In the 4 days we had in Cologne, this was one of the best meals we had. We will definitely be back!

I thought a small selection would make a restaurant great. But unfortunately, it was very disappointing: both schnitzels fell out of the breading and were no thicker than a French fry. The schnitzel was so fluffy that the whole fries could have fit inside.

Since the restaurant has relatively few tables, reservations are recommended – we were doubly lucky: Firstly, we discovered the restaurant by chance, and secondly, we were able to snag a table spontaneously. The food was more than just "good." Everything was freshly prepared, from the chef's greetings to the main course, served hot and delicious. The portions are generous, and the value for money is definitely right here. The friendly service deserves special mention: The owner served us personally, humorously, with a warmth and naturalness that was simply a joy. In summary: An all-around successful evening with great cuisine and authentic service. We'll definitely be back – and can recommend this restaurant with a clear conscience!

I'd like to highlight the exclusive nature of the meatballs; the recipe seems classic, but the chef knows how to elevate it. Thank you, chef. The service is smooth and the restaurant staff are very friendly, even though I didn't speak German. The only problem is that this restaurant isn't located in the country where I live, which I wish were the case. It's a shame, but it reinforces its premium appeal.

The staff was incredibly friendly and even offered to move us to a better-located booth when one opened up, which we really appreciated. The food was excellent and well priced, with generous portions and a wide variety of drink options. We tried the duck and octopus, and both were outstanding—highly recommend! The location was also perfect, just a short walk from the Rhine, making it easy to enjoy a lovely stroll by the river after dinner.

Good, hearty fare. The schnitzel are absolutely huge and the duck was particularly delicious. Can accommodate gluten free - felt safe as a coeliac. Sadly, none of the desserts were gluten free but with such generous portions, it's not really a problem. Would recommend

Omg , the best German dishes I have tried. All dishes we tried was outstanding specialty the roasted pear which was stuffed with marzipan . The place is small however is not touristic. For sure I’d love to comeback .

Good restaurant with friendly, authentic Cologne hosts. Service is moderately attentive, and if there isn't too much to do, wine might be refilled from time to time. Basically no unnecessary waiting times. Interesting menu and large selection of wines, although not all wines are always available. High quality use of goods. Good portions, nicely presented and deliciously prepared. Price performance fits.

I know it’s not faffy French food - but give this place a couple of Michelin Stars. Such good food - I ate traditional German pork skewers and potato salad with a slaw. Couldn’t have been better. Thank you. Oh and they did mine glutenfrei gluten free perfectly. Wonderful.

We stayed near Cologne Central Station and found a popular restaurant. I went without a reservation on a Friday night, but the hostess arranged a seat for me indoors and let me in. There are also seats outside. I ate the Wiener Schnitzel that I wanted and the grilled lamb. Both were so delicious that I ended up eating way too much.

A Gem not far from the Dom. They are fully booked but the nice lady let us sit outside and take care of us. Everything in the menu is good, the lamb is tender and juicy, wienerschintzel, shrimp is fresh, baked cheese is yummy.

Top dinner! Lamb shank and Wienerschnitzel were excellent👌🏼. Not exactly cheap in price, but reasonable for the quality.

Today, 8 of my guests and I came to have dinner here. As soon as we entered, we smelled fish. We ordered the food, thinking it would pass, and while we were waiting, the smell of excessive oil was very disturbing. But the place was nice, so we continued to wait. The appetizers came first, then we waited for the food for a long time, and during this time, the smell of burnt oil and the smell of fish combined, so the environment was exposed to an extremely disgusting smell. The food arrived, it looked beautiful and tasted mostly good, but it was terribly salty. Meats, potatoes and salad were particularly salty. Most of the employees here were helpful, but one of their managers (a slightly overweight short-haired lady) overreacted when we told her that the food was salty as feedback while paying the bill. 20 guests came before you and no one said anything, she said, "You are just complaining about this for some reason." He humiliated me because I looked Asian, discriminated against me by saying that it might not have been to your taste, and instead of saying sorry, he continued on. Instead of merely thanking us and greeting our feedback with a small smile, he never acted to compete with a manager by saying "of course you may not know the real taste of food." I was very embarrassed and thanked him and left. I was embarrassed for my guests and wanted to share it especially here. FYI, as long as people like this are working in your sweet place located in a beautiful location, there will not be much development. People who understand customer satisfaction well and can listen to feedback by thanking you will suit you... I do not recommend this place for other guests. The price is a little higher than normal, but the service quality is very low. If you do not want to ruin your day, stay away from this place. . . Leider war mein Besuch im Restaurant Brücke enttäuschend. So this restaurant is definitely worth 5 stars, we were there and had great food, the service was very good, unfortunately I forgot my camera otherwise I would have uploaded pictures. You can say with a very clear conscience that everything is fine and there are no worries Going out to eat is highly recommended. Keep it up, we'll come back sometime when we're in Cologne

Recommended with all my heart. Despite the “full house” we still managed to get a seat. All contact with the employees was cordial. And then the food... really great. The smell of the drain was only unpleasant at times in the outdoor seating area. From our side: 100% recommendation

Visited this lovely restaurant as a last-minute decision on a Wednesday at 17:30. The restaurant was already nearly full, but they kindly sat us for an hour slot and fit us in. The food was fresh and delicious, and my husband and I both ate our plates entirely. I had the original schnitzel, and he had the sea bass. It was reasonably priced and some of the best food we've had on our trip all around Germany.

Busy restaurant serving authentic cuisine that is not too expensive. As tapas we had the meatballs in tomato sauce and the fried courgettes, which were really good. The wiener schnitzel is a must. Highly recommended.
