My visit to Downtown Korean Restaurant was nothing short of amazing! I had the Korean fried chicken, which was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy inside, with just the right balance of seasoning. The dumplings were another highlight—crispy, flavorful, and filled with delicious goodness. My girlfriend ordered the bibimbap, which was beautifully presented and packed with fresh ingredients. What can I say 😄. The dishes are like in the land of calm mornings, the service is fast and they have soju in stock, which is important. Then the atmosphere is cool even for me, a passing foreigner. And you will be able to exchange words in Korean with the chef, which will make the experience authentic for fans. Thank you for this moment after a hard day of work. The ambience and service were very good and professional. The food was tasty, but it didn't blow your mind. There are a few vegetarian dishes, but the focus is on chicken. I found prices a bit high.

I had bibimbap, but it wasn't really steamed bibim. Instead of the spinach greens that you get in Korea, it has pickled red cabbage, cabbage, carrots, bulgogi, bean sprouts, seasoned cucumbers, and a fried egg. I was confused, but it tasted good.

We went here for the first time today and it was delicious! The waitress explained everything to us in detail and was very attentive. Gladly again!

Had Yangnyeom Chicken and it was sensationally delicious! The service was nice and courteous, the ambience is ok and doesn't have the typical Asian design. I'll definitely be back soon!

The best Korean restaurant in Germany... Just the takeout service that Koreans like... Three kinds of side dishes, kimchi?? It's my first time seeing a restaurant like this... I've been to famous franchise Korean restaurants and other Korean restaurants, but most of the food was overcooked, the ingredients were roughly added, and most importantly, the quality of the rice was poor, but this place was just like Korean food, so I enjoyed it!! The amount of chicken is really large and you can eat your fill from the earthen pot. Kimchi pancakes seem to be very popular among locals!! The kimchi pancake was very big and thick.

Great shop that one of my husband's colleagues pointed out to us. Very nice people and the food was great too. The bowl of bibimbap alone was a blast, simply because it kept the food hot for such an incredibly long time! We'll definitely come by again soon. We had a vegetarian bibimbap and the kimchi pancake.

We have been to the Downtowner Korean Urban Restaurant several times with the whole family and are thrilled every time! The food is simply outstanding - authentic South Korean cuisine that leaves nothing to be desired in terms of taste. From the starters to the main courses, you can tell how much love and skill goes into cooking here. The boss is not only a great cook, but also an incredibly nice host. You immediately feel welcome with him and feel his passion for his craft. If you want to experience real South Korean food in a cozy atmosphere, this is the place for you. We definitely love coming back again and again!

Didn't meet expectations. Not well seasoned. Meat quality poor for a Korean restaurant. Toilets were clean. Price-performance ratio is not right. There are better Korean restaurants. But service was friendly. Rice quality leaves something to be desired. Bibimbab had too strong a sour taste. There was a lack of sesame and sesame oil in the food which is typically Korean. Chicken was crispy, but maybe a little expensive for some people.

The downtown Korean Urban Restaurant on Severinstrasse is simply great! Authentic, run by Koreans, and in my opinion they have the best Korndog in all of Cologne. I always enjoy going there – the food is great, the atmosphere is pleasant, and the value for money is absolutely right. Clear recommendation!

Both the food, the ambience and the location were exceptional. The dishes we ordered were delicious, perfectly prepared and full of authentic flavors. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, which made the evening even more enjoyable. You felt welcome from the first minute. The prices are absolutely fair given the high quality of the food and make the whole thing excellent value for money. The location of the restaurant is also ideal – right in the center of Cologne and easily accessible. A must for all Korean cuisine lovers! We'll definitely be back.

Then came the Korean Fried Chicken—juicy, crunchy, and coated in a sauce so addictive it could easily be bottled and sold as happiness. But the crown jewel? The dolsot bibimbap. Watching the rice sizzle in the hot stone bowl as we mixed in the vibrant medley of veggies and the luscious gochujang sauce was an experience in itself. Every bite was a harmonious blend of bold flavors, smoky undertones, and comforting warmth. The service was impeccable, the ambiance cozy yet modern, and every dish was a love letter to authentic Korean cuisine. Highly recommended for foodies and adventurers alike!

The beef dumplings were delicious, the vegetarian pancake had little taste, hence the 3 stars. The bulgogi stew was fine. Rice was unfortunately cold. Korean tea was tasty but overpriced.

Not particularly tasty, no special ingredients - €16 for vegetarian bibimbab is way too high, it was worth a maximum of ten euros, if that. The prices here on Google are no longer current. I also know bibimbab with a little kimchi, but I would have had to pay an extra four euros for that, then I would be at €20 for absolutely mediocre food. It's a shame, I was misled by the reviews. I found the atmosphere in the restaurant (although I took the food with me) nice.

The boneless chicken in the restaurant was simply fantastic. The crispy breading was perfectly seasoned, and the sauce was a lovely balance of sweet, savory and a hint of heat. An absolute must for fans of Korean cuisine! I'll definitely come back.

All I can say is wow, I had the Korean leek pancake and vegan mandu and I really love it. I have been to Korea several times and discovered a very authentic restaurant in Downtowner. Will definitely come back!
