We visited the restaurant for the first time this evening following a recommendation. The reservation, welcome, and ambiance were all completely satisfactory. The evening met our expectations: friendly, attentive service both at and behind the counter, and a courteous, very friendly "chef." The food was truly excellent; we will be visiting Pico more often in the future...
The "Dat ole Aalhus" is an institution on Fehmarn when it comes to excellent North German home cooking
Unfortunately, the boss has had to cook herself for two years because she can't find a chef who is willing to deal with the fluctuating working hours on Fehmarn (only 4 opening days in low season).
However, I don't even dare to imagine how good the food would be.
At the moment it is excellent.
I had the house fish soup and the fried potato ratio and had absolutely no idea what could be better.
Small detail: The soup came with lightly toasted bread, which arrived to the guest still warm and ideally provided the “crunch” component that a soup naturally lacks.
Be careful of the salad side dish of the fried potato ratio.
This is not a side salad, but the entire salad from the starter menu.
If you want to have dessert, it's better to halve the salad portion when ordering
Great food, absolutely fantastic staff. I'm here for a health cure and would love to take the entire restaurant, including the staff, home with me. Many establishments could learn a thing or two from this!
A nice little garden restaurant, it seems a bit improvised, especially now in early April when it's still cold, but it's very busy.
We had the fish soup and Baltic salmon, both of which were really delicious. The people here are small and passionate about what they do, and they do a really good job.
Highly recommended.
We were unlucky here. We waited almost 1.5 hours. The waiter came several times and said the food would be right there. After this long wait, when the waiter finally checked with us to see what we had ordered, we left feeling hungry.
Delicious meals in the beautiful, particularly cozy restaurant and on the terrace with a view of Eckernförde Bay. The service is friendly and very attentive. Of course there are also takeaway meals available.
Since I was a child, our number 1 stop for delicious kebab every year on holiday on the Baltic Sea. Absolutely recommended family business. The chicken cheese burger is also particularly delicious!
I had reserved a table for this evening by phone. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed. What a pity. Google said it should be open, and we had reservations. We won't try again.
