It's always an experience to eat at the Haveli. The service is so friendly and attentive, and the food is a taste explosion. It's so lovingly prepared, with delicious homemade lemonades and fantastic dishes. Eating at the Haveli is a pleasure. Thank you, keep up the good work.

We often eat at the Haveli and have never been disappointed. We visited for the Diwali festival of lights for the first time, and for the first time, we had bad luck. Unfortunately, the service was uninformed, and the whole process was chaotic, hectic, and uncomfortable. Such a shame. The restaurant's regular service is much better. We'd be happy to go back on normal days.

I was invited in and didn't have to worry about money. The latter is an important prerequisite for enjoying an evening at the Haveli. The service was excellent – attentive, polite, and always there. The ambiance is simple and tasteful. The starter (Inji Pulli) was plentiful and delicious. The butter chicken was standard fare, nothing more, nothing less; the spiciness was just right. The sea bass in a banana leaf was a mixture of ingredients that canceled each other out in terms of flavor, turning the visually appealing dish into a disappointment. The bill was too high for what was offered overall.

Delicious food, friendly service, and a great location. Although an order was forgotten, a drink was quickly brought to our table after a quick reminder.

Beautifully decorated both inside and out, with lovely seating and great attention to detail. The garden is very tranquil and especially beautiful in spring/summer. Wir waren mittags dort und hatten uns für jeweils eines der Mittagsmenüs entschieden. Das Essen war hervorragend ebenso die zum Menü gehörende Limonade. Man bekommt das gesamte Menü auf einem Tablett serviert wie im Flugzeug, etwas ungewöhnlich aber okay. Der Service war freundlich, musste aber bei dem Tabettmenü auch nicht viel tun. Das einzige was nervt, ist von der Bedienung, die im Alter meiner Kinder ist, geduzt zu werden. In dieser Beziehung bin ich wohl etwas altmodisch.

I ordered avocado as a starter and it didn't taste like avocado at all. I specifically asked if the starter had been mixed up. The starters are much too expensive. I only give the service 1 star. The waitress was a young girl with no experience, totally confused... you had to ask for everything, from extra plates to drinks. We waited over 15 minutes for the menu and then 15 for a glass of water. I definitely won't go there again and won't recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We went to Haveli for lunch today with 12 people – and what can we say: It was fantastic all around! Even the phone reservation went smoothly, and the welcome on site was warm and professional. The service was consistently excellent: Our waiter was very friendly, attentive, and courteous, without being intrusive. The lunch menu is truly unbeatable – and the food was simply delicious! Everyone was thrilled with the variety of dishes and the freshly prepared food. We had a wonderful time together and would love to come back. Many thanks to the entire team!

We had a delicious breakfast here. The selection of vegetarian dishes is very good. One positive thing we noticed was that they made an effort to accommodate all guests in different areas of the hotel for as long as possible. This meant that each group essentially had their own room. The only minor criticism would be that the hot drinks were no longer served hot. But that would be the only noticeable thing. We'll be back :)

Being treated in such an unprofessional, almost incomprehensible, arrogant and dismissive manner in a brilliant restaurant with delicious food, when paying with a request for a 50/50 split of the bill, left us more than annoyed. Service is really better - a shame. No longer our restaurant...

The food is delicious, in my opinion. after but too expensive. Yes, the prices adapt to the current circumstances & quality has its price, but unfortunately I can't understand how a classic butter chicken can jump from €17/€18 to €27. :) I also didn't think the current menu was that great, there were better and cheaper options. (This is updated with new dishes every few months.)☺️ The service is great, makes good recommendations & always tries hard! 🥰 The ambience itself is great, the look is great, but sometimes it's just way too loud (which the owners have no influence on, of course). All in all a great restaurant, very chic, but in my opinion. a bit too expensive! 🥰

Food looks nice and cocktails are nice. Unfortunately in our experience they did not know their allergens (they brought regular naan to the table and said that it is gluten free and then that it is not gluten free. Later said again that it is gluten free and that it is not). The allergens menu was wrong (at least according to our server). And unfortunately they were able to substitute only one main dish for us (the rest was fixed, eg. You cannot change mashed potatoes for lentils next to the lamb) We cannot recommend it to anyone with allergens.

The food in the haveli is very good. It tastes good and is professionally prepared. The portions of the dal dish are quite small, so you won't get full. The waiter was rude to us. That's why we won't be coming back for a while.

We were probably unlucky here. Waited almost 1.5 hours. The service came several times and said that the food was coming soon. When the waiter - after this long wait - checked with us what we had ordered, we left hungry.

Unfortunately, things have slowed down a lot there! Good food, friendly people, but no service at all. The mineral water was brought after 40 minutes. After 50 minutes the greeting came from the kitchen!!! Then after an hour of waiting the starter, the bread. Later, sometime, the food. In between there was no contact with the waiter at all. No “How does it taste?”, no questions about other drinks. Completely invisible. A really bad experience! I can't remember the last time I didn't tip! Not again for a while!

A culinary highlight with excellent service! The Thali Teen menu impresses with its great variety: the house salad is fresh and refined, the sweet potato tempura is wonderfully crispy, and the pulled lamb on crispy thaler is a real taste experience. The Butter Chicken is wonderfully creamy, the Daal Makhni is aromatic and perfectly seasoned. Serve with fluffy rice or butter naan – simply heavenly! The service was particularly outstanding: warm, attentive and with genuine hospitality. Here you feel welcome and well looked after. An all-round perfect experience – we will definitely be back!

Das Essen war wirklich ausgezeichnet, leider hat der Service den Abend etwas getrübt. Der Kellner war sehr freundlich aber sehr, sehr unerfahren. Die Weinflasche öffnen mit lautem Knall, beim Abräumen große Tellerberge basteln und den Rechnungsbetrag einmal über den Tisch rufen. Und leider auch Abzüge für die geflutete Toilette, fehlende Handtücher und insgesamt keinen sauberen Eindruck. Sehr, sehr schade.

My husband and I had a really nice, pleasant evening in the Haveli with very friendly service and very tasty food. Despite small mishaps, which were more pleasant than annoying. There is a great view through a large window into the kitchen, through which you could watch the chefs baking bread. We found the slightly museum or exhibition-like atmosphere in the restaurant, with a slight tendency to chaos, wonderful. Thanks again to the young man, who was new there but made our evening even more pleasant with his charm and friendliness. Stay as you are 😊

Der Service war zeitweise etwas holprig und wirkte nicht vom Fach, das hat sich später gegeben. Getränke prima, Wartezeit völlig ok. Das Essen war optisch und geschmacklich großartig, wir haben mit großem Appetit das Gebrachte restlos genossen. Die Preise sind selbstbewusst, aber für unser Mahl angemessen. Angenehmes Ambiente. We are still in the process of getting to know and appreciate the Haveli's refreshed evening menu. Some of our favorite dishes like the inji pulli have remained unchanged, others have been adapted slightly (e.g. burrata makhni). There are also new dishes like the sweet & crispy with sweet potato or the Pumkin Khamiri, which we really like. As always, the service was attentive and fulfilled our wishes quickly.

I went here for a drink based on a recommendation. The service was very polite and gave me good advice. I found the drink, a lemonade, very tasty. The atmosphere is also unique - I've never seen it before - but I found it very cozy. I would happily recommend the restaurant.

I ate the "rice dish", Pot Pie, there, it was far too spicy for my standards, it was neither on the menu nor did the waiter point it out, I couldn't finish this dish because of the spiciness. My companions wanted to drink beer, what they chose was no longer available, strange for a bottled beer. All in all, I can't understand the hype surrounding this restaurant and find the price-performance ratio disproportionate.

A really nice place to eat! Great hosts - very good drinks.

This was our second time there for dinner and we loved it both times. The restaurant is comfortably furnished and you can also sit outside. First we had two delicious aperitifs. As a starter we had shrimp and tuna. Both visually very appealing and tasted incredibly sophisticated and delicious and the portions were so large that we were almost full afterwards. The main courses were not quite as sophisticated, but they were also tasty and prepared with love and also large portions. The staff was very nice, courteous and reserved. However, communicating with the Indian staff was very difficult because they could not speak German and hardly spoke any English. That's why we got a chutney even though we didn't order any and we were charged for that. Otherwise, the comment that everything was served very quickly and that it was even too quick for us, so we asked for a short break after the starters. The house appetizers and our starters were served before we had the wine on the table. That wasn't quite ideal. Overall, absolutely recommendable and an experience that justifies the price in our opinion.

The service was attentive and friendly, although the nan bread that was ordered with the starter was forgotten twice and ended up coming at the end of the main course - that can happen. I think it's a shame that there isn't a non-spicy dish, even the salad with strips of beef fillet is spicy. Unfortunately, the request to cook dishes milder was not implemented despite the promise. We were there in a group, one of us couldn't tolerate spicy food, so he made do with rice and Nan bread. I know it differently from Indian restaurants and would have expected that even in this rather higher-priced restaurant there would be more culinary attention to the guest. That's why my suggestion - simply add 1-2 non-spicy dishes to the menu, Indian cuisine is not only spicy,

The service was very friendly and attentive. The drinks and the food tasted excellent. Personally, I was particularly happy about the vegan options. Vor der Pandemie eröffnete in Kiel ein Restaurant, das indische Küche vom Feinsten anbot. Als Kenner der indischen Küche(n) probierte ich seinerzeit - quasi im Vorbeigehen - ein Dosa, das großartig zubereitet war und geschmacklich überzeugte. Grund genug also, um ins Haveli mal für ein komplettes Abendessen einzukehren. Gesagt, getan und so haben wir am 18. Mai 2024 einen Tisch für zwei Personen bestellt. Da es uns im Außenbereich zu kalt war, nahmen wir im Innern Platz. Zunächst bestellten wir zwei alkoholfreie Cocktails und die waren großartig. Keine Diskussion. Die Vorspeise (Thanda Matlap Pani Puri) war sensationell. Die in der Speisekarte versprochene Geschmacksexplosion fand statt. Selten wurden wir von einer Vorspeise derart positiv überrascht. Leider konnten die Hauptgänge das Niveau nicht durchgehend halten. Der Kabeljau (De-cod-e und mit Kohlenfisch übersetzt) war perfekt zubereitet und wusste auch geschmacklich zu überzeugen, auch und gerade durch das Zusammenspiel mit dem Kaviar. Warum man dazu allerdings industriell gefertigte Schupfnudeln servierte, wird wohl das Geheimnis des Küchenchefs bleiben. Zum Fisch wurde eine warme Currysauce serviert, selbige war leider leicht säuerlich und passte daher weder zum Fisch noch zu den Schupfnudeln. In der Speisekarte war übrigens von "hausgemachten Süßkartoffelgnocchi" die Rede Das zweite Hauptgericht - Ratto Manns - sollte lt. Speisekarte Lamm in einer feurigen Sauce sein. Nun, zumindest der zweite Teil des kulinarischen Versprechens wurde eingehalten, die Sauce war wirklich perfekt gewürzt. Das Lamm allerdings schmeckte verdächtig nach Rind und war zudem keineswegs tüchtig geschmort. Eine weitere Stunde im Schmortopf hätte dem Fleisch jedenfalls gut getan. Auch hier gab es eine ungewöhnliche und nach meinem Empfinden unpassende Beilage aus Kartoffelstampf (meinem Geschmack nach ebenfalls Industrieware/Convenience Food) . Das Wurzelgemüse entpuppte sich als drei kleine Würfel Süßkartoffel(?). Die bestellten Naan-Brote wussten geschmacklich zu überzeugen waren aber mit jeweils um die € 4,50/Stck. heillos überteuert Gemessen am Preisniveau des Haveli kann man wohl echte handwerkliche Qualität bzw. perfekt zubereitete Speisen erwarten. Positiv erwähnen möchte ich noch die nette Bedienung, die allerdings in die Unsitte verfiel, jeden Gast zu Duzen. Das mag in einem Studentenlokal passend sein, in einem Restaurant von der Preisklasse des Haveli sicherlich nicht. Ich bin schließlich Gast und nicht ein Bekannter oder gar Freund.

So, you have to be very romantic to enjoy this ambience, i.e. to describe this old house as dignified or beautiful. Today I found it to be rather dilapidated, unkempt and simply ancient. The food was not Indian, but simply mercilessly over-spiced and definitely way too expensive. The service and the staff have made things right again. Conclusion anyway: Totally overrated, Kiel doesn't have much to offer in the way of gastronomy, far too expensive, rather unkempt, for me and my wife and guests, no future option, a shame.

Unfortunately, the main course is not really indian, I would say indian fusion but I'm not really sure at this point how I would categorize it. The taste itself was mediocre and the food was overpriced and portions were quite small. As for drinks, I had ordered aperol spritz which tasted like water. I have been to Haveli in the past and they had some authentic Indian dishes but the menu seems to have changed drastically.

A very pleasant Indian restaurant with a nice ambience and good service. The food was tasty and very well presented. I had the biriani with chicken and my friends had meat dishes. We tried their non-alcoholic drink and their mango lassi and they were excellent. My reason for not giving it 5 stars is maybe a bit unfair. Yet, having lived in the UK, I was a bit disappointed that the dips did not come with poppadoms as I am used to. Also other dishes did not taste the way that I expected. Still, I can highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to visit it again.

Ich war schon sehr oft Gast im Haveli, ich genieße Service und Ambiente. Gestern Abend war ich wieder dort und muss leider sagen das das Preis Leistungsverhältnis arg ins rutschen gekommen ist. Das Essen war lecker wie immer, aber ich wäre gerne satt geworden. Das hat leider trotz Vorspeise nicht geklappt, und ich möchte mir nach dem besuch in einem besseren Restaurant keine Gedanken machen ob ich mir noch einen Döner holen sollte. Wir werden das Banmaai dann wieder mehr anlaufen, mal sehen ob es sich bei seinem Bruder auch verändert hat.
