China Restaurant Chau & Yeo in Eckernförde

Das China Restaurant ist für den Standort Eckernförde eine sehr gute Alternative zu den Etablierten Speiselokalen. Hier gibt es auch ohne Buffet riesige Portionen wo für jeden Gourmet genug Menues zur Auswahl stehen. Gewohnt freundlicher Service und Ambiente im Drachen Style.

Wir waren als Familie hier essen und hatten das Buffet für einen Erwachsenen und ein Kind bestellt. Auf den Karten stand, dass man Essen mitnehmen darf. Als ich zum Ende des Essens zwei Tintenfischringe vom Kinderteller in die Kinderbrotdose für mein Kind einpacken wollte, wurde ich von der Kellnerin angeschrien und sie warf mir die Karte hin, dass das nicht erlaubt sei. Ich hatte extra nachgesehen, in der Karte stand man kann sein Essen mitnehmen, dies bezog sich wohl jedoch nicht auf das Buffet- also sagte ich das wäre unverständlich geschrieben und das könne man ja auch normal sagen. Später, als ich es noch einmal ansprach, wurde ich erneut vor allen Gästen angeschrien, die anderen waren schon am gucken. Ich habe ihr gesagt, dass das unmöglich ist so mit seinen Gästen umzugehen! Ich kann verstehen, dass man vom Buffet keine Tupperdosen gefüllt mit nach Hause nehmen kann, aber es handelte sich lediglich um 2 kleine Reste für ein KIND, die dann sowieso im Müll landeten und die Art war bodenlos!! So etwas geht gar nicht. Wir werden hier definitiv nicht mehr hingehen.

Sehr lecker, freundliches Personal. Es treibt uns immer wieder gerne dort hin.

Wir haben a la carte gegessen und es war wirklich sehr lecker.

Ich muss leider sagen dass dies eine der schlechtesten Erfahrungen seit Jahren für mich war. In der Hochsaison kann man hier ein hinnehmbar es Buffet erleben. Nun war ich zum Ende des Aprils dort essen zum angebotenen Menü. Selbst bei einer Preisänderungen werden keine Extrawünsche akzeptiert. Der Service war sehr schlecht gelaunt und hat dies sehr spürbar gemacht. Zum Essen könnte ich einen ganzen Bericht schreiben, um es kurz zu halten hier der einzig gute Punkt; Es war im Hauptgang eine ordentliche Portion. Meine größte Kritik ist die Frische der Zutaten. Soßen schon zum geblockt eingekocht, frit. Garnelen roh, Obstsalat aus dem Eimer als Dessert war vergoren.

Wir kommen seit Jahren immer wieder gern hierher. Wir mögen sowohl das Essen a la Carte als auch das Buffet. Unsere Tochter liebt beim Buffet vor allem die Sushi Karte. Im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen chinesischen Restaurants stimmt hier für uns das Preis - Leistungsverhältnis. Die Mitarbeiter sind immer freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die schlechten Bewertungen können wir nicht nachvollziehen.

Wir waren gestern Abend dort und hatten das Buffet gewählt. Die Auswahl war sehr mager für 25€ und das Essen war kalt!!! Auf Nachfrage sagte der erste Kellner, wir sollen das umrühren, es wäre unten in der Schüssel wärmer. Die zweite Kellnerin (Chefin?) meinte dann, wir hätten ja auch keine kalten Teller nehmen dürfen. Wir haben die Teller aus dem Behälter mit der Aufschrift "warme Teller" geholt. Die Dame teilte uns dann mit, dass ein Buffet beim Chinesen immer lauwarm wäre. Wir waren ziemlich entsetzt, da wir durchaus bereits warme Buffets genossen haben. Wir bekamen dann das Angebot, ein Gericht von der Karte zu bestellen und nur dieses zu zahlen. Das war dann auch heiß, schmeckte aber auch nicht sehr gut. Nachdem es kein Trinkgeld gab, kam dann auch eine knappe Entschuldigung. Fazit: Nie wieder!

Leckeres Essen in typischem chinesischen Ambiente. Wir hatten Tellergerichte, es gibt aber auch Buffet.

Das Essen war sehr lecker. Das Buffet zwar überschaubar, aber völlig ausreichend in der Auswahl. Die zum Buffet kostenfrei dazu bestellbaren kleinen Speisen eine sehr schöne Erweiterung ohne das Buffet zu überfrachten. Die Musik angenehm im Hintergrund, die Räumlichkeiten sehr schön und harmonisch. Die Raumtrenner sinnvoll und ästhetisch, der Service meistens aufmerksam.

Ein typisches Buffet mit den üblichen Speisen. Was toll ist, das besondere Sachen (Teigtaschen, Pommes etc) separat kostenlos dazu bestellt werden können. Diese Speisen werden dann frisch zubereitet. Service, Freundlichkeit und Preis- Leistung passt.

Sehr gemütliche Atmosphäre und köstliches Essen 🥢🍥🍣. Meine neunjährige Tochter war begeistert von ihrem vietnamesischen Lieblingsgericht 🐉.

Wir wurden dort mit zwei jährigem Kind nicht bedient, sodass wir wieder gehen mussten.

Das Buffet ist unterdurchschnittlich. Einiges ganz schmackhaft manches nur typische Massenware (Fritiertes, Ente...) Das komplizierte zusätzliche Bestellsystem zum Buffet und die vielfältigen Belehrungen wirken wenig gastlich.

Es war super lecker. Wir werden das nächste Mal das Buffet testen.

Also ich habe "nur" als Rest zu Hause von der gebranntenen Ente + Nudeln und Gemüse probiert... Über 24 Euro? Ohne Soja Sauce o.ä. zum Nachwürzen? Das Gemüse waren fast nur Karotten, Zwiebeln und das EsSen hat insgesamt einfach nur FADE geschmeckt...Wo ist da der Wow-Effekt? Das asiatische Geschmackserlebnis? Für den Preis ist das eine Verarschung und ich hätte mich beschwert oder mich sehr geärgert mit Getränken und Trinkgeld über 30 Euro ausgegeben zu haben...Danach hätte mein Kopf mehr "Schärfe" als ich von diesem unscharfen Essen bekommen kann...Ist etwas für Ex- Gesundheitsminister Herrn Lauterbach (der verzichtet auf Salz)... Da ich nebenher auch noch ein paar gut gewürzte Meeresfrüchte probieren durfte und ich Zuhause die Bedienung und Nachtisch nicht kenne, das schöne Ambiente der Ostsee mir als Eckernförder allerdings täglich bekannt ist, Gibts von mir 2 Punkte....

Sehr leckeres "all YouTube can eat" Buffet. Zusätzlich kann man noch von einer Zusatzkarte essen bestellen.

We were attracted by the billboards in front of the restaurant. It said "Royal Buffet"—an incredible culinary experience. Ultimately, the selection of dishes was rather limited; they tasted good but nothing special. The bowls were very small, and refilling them took a long time. Drinks and buffet prices, including the promenade surcharge, were steep. Dessert selection was limited: 3 fruit varieties, jelly, and vanilla ice cream. Others can do better, though! Also, don't come on weekends or right when the restaurant opens. The buffet was so crowded, it was almost impossible to get through!

The food is delicious, just like the old Chinese restaurants. That means delicious individual dishes, with a very informal atmosphere, not an all-you-can-eat buffet. We like sitting at a table and receiving friendly service. It's great here, we keep coming back. We were here recently with ten people, and everything went perfectly. Thank you very much, and please keep up the good work.

The location is great, but the quality of the food and the prices were really poor. The selection was by far the worst I've ever seen at a buffet. Unfortunately, I don't recommend it.

We enjoyed the lunch buffet here and were delighted. The selection is smaller than what you'd expect from these days' large "Mongolian buffets," but the quality is a solid 1. There's a diverse selection, including wontons, beef, duck, and chicken in various sauces. There's also a salad buffet, rice, noodles, fried rice, and a great selection of vegetarian options. From croquettes, spring rolls, and curry triangles to baked vegetables, fried mushrooms, and vegetables. Four sauces and a small dessert (jelly, vanilla ice cream, and fruit) round out the meal. The lunch buffet currently costs €15 per person (as of July 25). Children up to 9 years old pay €1.50 per year of age. The drink prices are also good considering current standard prices. The service is friendly, warm, and attentive, and the ambiance inside is classically and attractively decorated. You can also sit on the outdoor terrace, sheltered from the sun or (light) rain, right on the beach path. All in all, an absolute recommendation!

Unfriendly staff who had trouble understanding our conversation. The food was good. We waited almost an hour for our takeaway noodle box.

We were there today. The selection is okay, but the prices are ridiculous. Holiday destination or not, I can't accept those prices. Crispy fried vegetables for a whopping €23, and if you want fried noodles with it, it's another €4. The price is ultimately twice as expensive here as it is at home. I can easily afford it, but I don't have anything to give away, even on vacation. Now some people will say I don't need to eat there...and I don't.

We had a wonderful evening with seven people. Every dish was truly outstanding...and we have several comparisons from a big city. Our children were also thrilled with the ambiance, the service, and the food. We definitely recommend it!

Very nice restaurant, nice staff & delicious food

Hello, we got some food to take away, the duck was very tasty. As a sauce I had extra peanut sauce for 1 euro, the quantity was very manageable and unfortunately it didn't taste good at all. For 2x duck to take away 27 euros, that could be better. We won't be coming back.

Delicious meals in the beautiful, particularly cozy restaurant and on the terrace with a view of Eckernförde Bay. The service is friendly and very attentive. Of course there are also takeaway meals available.

We chose from the lunch menu at lunchtime. For €13 per meal we were very positively surprised. There were also warming plates for lunch, the sweet and sour duck tasted delicious, the service was friendly and quick. Don't misunderstand, this is not a gourmet restaurant, but the 5 stars are great value for money.

Very traditional restaurant with a beautiful view of the Baltic Sea. The food is very good and the service (probably the owner couple) is very nice and accommodating. Absolutely 5 stars and always happy! Greetings to Eckernförde.

Lunch menu is quite small, the taste is ok. For the price it's right and the view is great. A beer with a view of the beach is definitely worth it.

Main course OK, but not particularly special (too little sauce). Starter soup without any taste. Dessert, a scoop of walnut ice cream with red jelly, didn't taste at all. Unfortunately very expensive for what was offered.

I would like to praise the small restaurant Chen Chen on Borbyer Ufer. Here at Chau and Yeo the price-performance ratio for lunch is not right. In terms of taste, everything was rather bland. I don't have to go through this a second time.

I'll put it this way: it didn't taste bad. Maybe a little too much fat. The special thing is the location of the restaurant right on the beach.

Completely okay for lunch with a view of the water.

We haven't had Chinese food in a long time. This restaurant is definitely recommended. Located right on the beach, the terrace has a beautiful view of the water. The food from the lunch menu is relatively inexpensive and very tasty. The children's plates were also plentiful and delicious. The staff was very friendly and polite. If we're in the area again, we'd love to come by again.

What I really liked was the view of the water. The food prices are way too high, no buffet and no flexibility. The extra four euros for the surcharge for pasta instead of rice is completely excessive. No chopsticks and nothing to season. I won't come here again. For simple bridal noodles then 16€. No thanks

If you sit outside you can have a nice view of the beach in Eckernförde. Unfortunately, you always have to wait a little longer until the staff is ready to serve you. But the food makes up for it.

First of all, a wonderful view when you sit outside. As a starter we had salmon sashimi which was fresh and tasted delicious. Everyone can judge for themselves whether a price of € 25 for approx. 120 grams is justified. The other starter was the "Crispy Finger Food Plate" which had the following: 1 wonton with shrimp filling, 2 mini spring rolls, 3 krupuk, 2 curry dumplings and 2 breaded shrimp with sweet chili sauce. Fried “stuff” at €13 is absolutely overpriced. For the main course we had the sea stew from the recommendation menu. Surimi was sold here as crab meat, fish was breaded frozen fish, the squid was boiled. The shrimp was ok. But everything tasted okay. I was really upset about the description "crab meat" because these opaque descriptions are just annoying and a rip-off. The chicken breast in peanut coconut sauce was ok. All in all, most of the dishes are completely overpriced and are simply tourist rip-offs. An extra charge for pasta of €4 or a portion of jasmine rice for €2.50 is disproportionate.

We were looking for a takeaway meal and noticed the restaurant's excellent sushi menu. All the employees were extremely friendly and the atmosphere of the restaurant was very appealing. The sushi was freshly prepared and there were many guests there to eat. While we waited, we sat on the outside terrace with a view of the Baltic Sea and had a drink. The other dishes we saw also made a delicious impression on us. The sushi was delicious and we decided to go straight to the restaurant to eat next time. Clear recommendation!

Absolutely comfortably furnished restaurant right on the Baltic Sea. The service is great and the food is really TOP. The only disadvantage is the lack of parking facilities. These can then be found directly in the city and a short walk is then standard.

Went to the restaurant for the evening buffet. Friendly staff, good and fast service. The buffet selection was good and food was constantly and promptly replenished. The restaurant is cozy and tastefully decorated. Price-performance ratio absolutely okay. After a long abstinence from Buffalo, the restaurant had a holiday buffet over Pentecost 2024. That was even better than before. We now hope that the buffet offers will come back more often

Overall, a good restaurant that has also been offering sushi since April 2024 because it took over the chef from a restaurant that closed. (This is also evident from the menu, the sushi menu was simply from a closed restaurant when we visited, many prices were crossed out with a pen and higher prices were written down. (quite unprofessional) The food was good, the price was still reasonable. The service was very good and friendly.

We found this restaurant by chance on our Easter trip to Eckernförde and even though we hadn't made a reservation, we were warmly welcomed and given a nice seat by the window. There was an Easter buffet. Nothing was missing! Super tasty selection of meat, vegetables, pasta & rice, etc. The service was also extremely attentive and very friendly. We would love to come back and have already recommended this location to others.

A short excursion to Asian delicacies directly on the Baltic Sea. Chinese atmosphere with friendly service and a wide selection of dishes. There should be something for everyone.

We ordered wonton as a starter. The filling was probably minced pork. The taste was a little scary and almost disgusting. For the main course we ordered duck with sauce. Unfortunately, the duck consisted almost entirely of cartilage and very fatty breading. There was hardly any duck meat on the plate and it had obviously been in the deep fryer fat for far too long. The ingredients of the “dark” sauces served could not be identified. In our opinion, this restaurant is not recommended.

Fast and delicious food on the beach promenade

The duck was great. Unfortunately, the side dishes have little to do with the vegetables on the menu. Pasta instead of rice or vice versa 4 EUR extra per person. No buffet.
