The restaurant is close to the SAFO tennis court and I had dinner here. Food is fine and atmospheric is better than expected when you just look it from outside.
Great café with a great ambience. We were able to warm up a bit here from the rain. Breads are really delicious, but also quite expensive. Coffee was good too.
Döpfner’s Goose for Christmas is an absolute recommendation.
The quality is wonderful and tastes by far the best.
The Maingau is a great family-run business and pays attention to quality.
Thank you very much dear Maingau team 👍🏼

Came here by chance on a Friday night when other spots were full, and it turned out to be a pleasant find! The restaurant is right next to the metro station, making it very convenient. Spacious, nice outdoor seating, and a chill vibe.
Service was pretty slow, but the staff was genuinely friendly, so we didn’t mind too much.
Food was good, though not a lot of meat options for dinner—maybe because of the Middle Eastern influence? What we did try was solid:
- Lamb chops – Nicely seasoned, but slightly dry. The polenta was smooth and flavorful.
- Octopus – Cooked beautifully, tender with a nice hint of lemon that made it even better.
Overall, a nice spot for a laid-back dinner, especially if you enjoy Mediterranean/Middle Eastern flavors.
Visiting with a larger group is highly discouraged. The pre-booked seats were unavailable despite written reservations. Part of the group had to eat outside in 12-degree heat in April. Taking our drink orders took a long time, and the pre-ordered food only arrived after a very long wait. Overall, we got the impression that the focus here is not on the guests.
The Feldbergblick has its charm and with the possibility of eating outside, it has always been a popular meeting place for us, so I meet there with friends 2-3 times a year.
Unfortunately, in my opinion, the food has deteriorated a lot, I've always been a fan of the large dirt shovel and have ordered that almost exclusively, but since the last two visits I've been pretty disappointed.
The dirt shovel has lost massively in size and the amount of lettuce has increased. I don't think it's that bad, but the old, well-made fried potatoes weren't such a hit last time and this time they were a complete disappointment. Boiled potatoes are sautéed briefly in the pan and frozen vegetables are used to top it all off, but I expect that to be a little better in this price range.
