Friedberger Warte in Frankfurt am Main

We held a company event here as an internal Christmas market. Thanks to the open umbrellas and heaters, it was very cozy. The food was good, traditional fare and delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive. Everyone had a great time. Getting there by train or car was easy. The Best Western Hotel across the street is part of the complex and operates the restaurant and its underground parking garage. We felt very well taken care of. We'd gladly come again.

We (6 people) spontaneously decided to go there for the first time and were lucky to get a table. We received a warm welcome and were served quickly and efficiently. Of course, the table was reserved for an hour later. The food was delicious and, in my opinion, the prices were reasonable. We'll definitely be back. Next time we'll make a reservation 😉

Since the restaurant is quite small, you should definitely make a reservation if the weather is bad and the beer garden is closed. I will definitely eat there more often when I'm in Frankfurt.

I ordered Apple Vine, soda, beer, haksen, and french fries, and they were delicious. The haksen was a bit salty, but the skin was crispy, reminiscent of smoked turkey. It tasted exactly like the ones sold at Universal Studios. The pickled cabbage(?) that came with it was a bit sour, but the mashed potatoes were delicious. The french fries tasted like Jerusalem artichokes, but they were chewy. The batter was thick like KFC, but crispy, and delicious. However, there was a strangely sour vinegary flavor. I think they sprinkled some kind of special sauce or powder on it. The castle and watchtower alone are worth a visit, but the food was also delicious overall, so I recommend it.

After more than 15 years, I was a guest at the Friedberger Warte again and was curious to see if I could expect the same excellent food, both in terms of taste and quality, as back then. Yes! The green sauce is still exactly to my taste, and the schnitzel wasn't pounded too thin and had a delicious breading. To finish, there was a delicious Kaiserschmarren (sweet pancake with pancake crumbs), lightly caramelized and served with three accompanying dips. It rained quite heavily for a while during the meal, but thanks to the generous roof (with umbrellas) in the courtyard, we didn't get wet and it remained cozy. There's a play area for children and even a children's glass with a motif. The drink was served in a carafe (little things like that make parents happy). We'd love to come back, and not wait another 15 years!

An honest and down-to-earth restaurant with delicious local dishes from a good kitchen, nothing from the microwave! The service is extremely attentive and friendly. The dishes are well worth the price and very filling. You won't get ripped off like you would in the city center, and the ambiance is beautiful.

Bei schönem Wetter einen Tisch im attraktiven Innenhof bekommen, freundlich begrüßt, rasche Aufnahme unserer Getränkewünsche. Die auf unseren Wunsch erst später bestellten Hauptgerichte kamen auch zügig und stellten zufrieden. Der Service war durchgängig aufmerksam und freundlich. Gerne mal wieder.

Visiting with a larger group is highly discouraged. The pre-booked seats were unavailable despite written reservations. Part of the group had to eat outside in 12-degree heat in April. Taking our drink orders took a long time, and the pre-ordered food only arrived after a very long wait. Overall, we got the impression that the focus here is not on the guests.

Rustic restaurant in a historic building, where a spot in the inner courtyard is the first choice in the warm months. The dining room is quite small, but the inner courtyard offers a lot of space and, thanks to large umbrellas, you can sit dry at most of the tables even when it rains. The menu mainly offers regional specialties and I find the green sauce particularly tasty there.

Was here for dinner - à la card - as part of a seminar. At the moment there are only indoor seats. This cozy restaurant has the feel of a living room, simply cozy. The landlord did everything on his own and did it really quickly. Praise here. My schnitzel with green sauce was very good, the medlar went down my throat without any further effort and the binding from the barrel was wonderfully cool. The Bebel with cider and Handkäs with music didn't have to hide either. It was a lovely evening with colleagues. Dogs are welcome. Simply likeable. I recommend making a reservation while the beer garden is still closed. I would definitely like to come back.

Top location for a delicious bite to eat. The restaurant is located in a historic location and you can find that history everywhere inside, very attractively decorated with many hints to the past. The service is extremely friendly and takes plenty of time for you. As for the menu, there is plenty of choice in typical German dishes. The quality is excellent, the food is truly delicious (the Friedberger Warteschnitzel with Zwiebeln, Schinken & Käse überbacken is fantastic) and entirely according to German tradition, the portions leave nothing to be desired! In short, highly recommended!

Quaint restaurant in a historic observation tower from the 14th century. The knuckle was well cured and the sauerkraut was excellent. Only the mustard from the bag didn't fit in my opinion. But the landlord, an original Hesse, was okay. All in all, highly recommended!

We have dined here several times. It has a fantastic old atmosphere and is a traditional German restaurant and cuisine. The menu is impressive and every dish we have had has been sublime. The service and the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff are simply indescribable. Everyone is very nice and helpful. We have always had a free table, even when the restaurant seemed to be full. Everyone in Frankfurt am Main probably knows it: the historic Friedberger Warte, located directly on the vibrant street of the same name. It is probably less well known that the walls, which are over half a millennium old, house a beautiful restaurant with a garden and a summer cultural stage. The South Hessian cuisine is rock-solid and is crowned by great service. The young people and the operations manager are great guys. The International Federation (IB), an organization for youth social and educational work, runs the restaurant - as well as the hotel opposite. An absolutely round and very good thing…

Sehr netter und zuvorkommender Service, wir konnten den Tisch wechseln aufgrund der etwas lauteren Gäste. Preis-und Leistungsverhältnis absolut in Ordnung. Alles unkompliziert und gutgelaunt, trifft man in der letzten Zeit selten. Die Location sehr zu empfehlen. Wir kommen garantiert wieder!

Classic Frankfurt apple wine bar with everything that goes with it: Frankfurter Schnitzel with green sauce, Bembel, potato pancakes and Handkäs with music. Friendly staff, sometimes longer waiting times. Authentic Frankfurt cuisine with a selection of cider. The dishes are hearty and in generous portions, beautifully presented and very tasty. If you want tradition, this is the place for you.

Went there again for dinner after a few years of abstinence. It was a completely successful evening. The food tasted very good, the green sauce was at a good temperature. The mineral water wasn't too cold either. In the restaurant, a cozy atmosphere. The service was not intrusive but attentive.

A beautiful German pub with excellent schnitzel and draft beer

This restaurant is separate but part of the hotel across the street. Our first visit, food was delicious. Upon receipt of the bill, the waiter rudely informed us that tip was not included. We always tip but the rude reminder was uncalled for. Our second visit, we asked the receptionist at the hotel if the restaurant was open before walking over. She said it was. As we rounded the corner of the restaurant we heard the beer garden door shut, but it was unsecure. We were quickly approached by the same waiter mentioned above and he advised us to wait outside 2 MINUTES because they opened at 5pm. He persisted to shoo us out, slammed the gate and loudly locked it behind us. Meanwhile, we witnessed another couple already seated in the garden area. Instead of rushing us out the door, he COULD have offered us a table and gave us time to look over the menu before serving us and that would have been totally acceptable to us. He really needs to work on his customer service and manners. Needless to say, we weren’t going to wait 2 minutes when we were treated so rudely. I would recommend this location for the food and atmosphere alone with the caveat to make sure you tip, don’t show up 2 MINUTES early and expect to be treated poorly.

We were there on Saturday. It was a wonderful evening in a very nice atmosphere. Delicious food, good prices and very friendly service! We have registered a small family celebration for September and are already looking forward to the evening!

Unfortunately, the schnitzels were fried a bit overambitiously and were therefore dry. The green sauce was tasty.

Ich war an einem heissen Abend auf Dienstreise allein hier, habe aber sofort ohne Reservierung einen schönen Tisch bekommen. Die Karte bietet vor allem eher deftige regionale Gerichte. Ich wählte ein vegetarisches couscous-Rezept von der Wochenkarte und war sehr zufrieden. Vor allem das Dressing des Beilagen-Salates war sehr lecker. Kurze Wartezeit. Einziger Verbesserungsvorschlag: sitzkissen wären schön.

The woman at reception was very disinterested and more or less forgot about me once I was seated. After making eye contact with another waiter, he came over and took my order. However, half of the menu was no longer available, which I was only told after I wanted to order something that it was no longer available. I finally decided on a Wiener Schnitzel, which was unfortunately very small for the price and the breading tasted very much like pepper. I ordered a side salad with it, and unfortunately the carrots in it were definitely not fresh, but tasted like they had been pickled in something. I also ordered a juice and wasn't asked for size. The larger and therefore more expensive drink was simply brought. It didn't taste bad, but I don't think I'll come back here.

I highly recommend this restaurant, it is gluten free accommodating (salad made with turkey and no breaded coating. The salad and a glass of Apple Wine was superb. Staff is helpful and friendly. Located across from Best Western Plus in a historical building. What a gem!

Were in Frankfurt for 3 days in the hotel of the same name next door and had dinner there. Super nice staff and the food was delicious, we had 1 liter of cider, you could drink it but it wasn't to our taste but we tried it. Would eat there again in a heartbeat.

Delicious! We spontaneously fancied a gaddewirtschaft and were not disappointed! Food was good, the dishes were redesigned a bit individually because we wanted semolina sauce and it wasn't overpriced, it's just a gaddewirtschaft and not a star restaurant ;) always happy!! The knuckle was great!

Äußerlich lädt das sehenswerte mittelalterliche Gemäuer zur Einkehr ein. Der Innenhof mit stattlichen Kastanienbäumen könnte eigentlich auch heute noch ein Hingucker sein - wenn man denn viel von ihm sehen könnte. Aber etwa zwei Drittel des Hofes ist nun verstellt durch ein unansehnliches Kunststoffzelt, wie man es auf jedem x-beliebigen Festplatz finden könnte; ist man im Zelt, sieht man von den Kastanien so gut wie nichts (die unteren Stammstücke halt). Vom Innenhof übrig ist ein Streifen mit Biergartengarnituren; hier sieht man wenigstens die oberen Teile der herrlichen Bäume. Immerhin ist der Eingangsbereich geschmackvoll gestaltet. - Die "Spargelcremesuppe" zu 6 Euro hatte mit Creme = Sahne nichts zu tun, eine dünne Plärre ohne jedes Fitzelchen Spargel. Die schlechteste Spargelcremesuppe, die ich je gegessen habe. Eine Tütensuppe ist wesentlich geschmackvoller. Das Zwiebelschnitzel (Fleischqualität gut) kommt mit völlig überfettigen Bratkartoffeln; mit 17,90 Euro (ohne Salat!) viel zu teuer. Der Handkäs war in Ordnung. - Fazit: Das Lokal firmiert unter "Best Western Premier", aber es ist keine Werbung für diese Marke. Wir kommen nicht wieder.

I can highly recommend it. Service was very friendly and helpful. Here you were also asked how the food was. I only gave 4 stars for the ambience because it is a typical apple wine bar. And I wasn't even inside. For next time, I can give the last star. In any case, it was really tasty. Gladly again.

Clocky inn - great service and very friendly staff who can sometimes have fun. 1 A Regional dishes - I chose the Friedberger Warte Schnitzel and was completely satisfied. I'm looking forward to my next visit to one of my photography course adventure days in Frankfurt.

Everything is ok, but I find €7.90 for a bottle of mineral water to be a rip-off and an impudence. Food and service great. Very cozy. You're welcome to go there, but you shouldn't drink water. Greetings FS
