The Hotel zum Riesen in Miltenberg definitely has charm, but there are a few things you should know before you book. The rooms are quite small and the furnishings are rather spartan. Anyone expecting a lot of space or luxury will probably be disappointed here.
The bathroom appears to be from the 70s and could do with a renovation. Unfortunately we didn't have any warm water in the morning, which was a bit unpleasant.
However, the location of the hotel is unbeatable. Located in the middle of the old town of Miltenberg, it is the perfect starting point for exploring the city. The staff was also friendly and helpful.
Conclusion: If you are looking for a simple hotel in a central location and don't have high expectations, you can have a good time at the Hotel zum Riesen. However, if you value comfort and modern amenities, you may want to look for an alternative.
We were helped immediately despite a staff shortage. A restaurant we had booked in advance hadn't announced its closure, and it was on our 50th wedding anniversary. Come on, we can do it. It turned out to be a thoroughly enjoyable evening for us as a family. The food and staff were excellent. Once again, a huge thank you to everyone.
I came to dine at a typical Munich restaurant. The staff were lovely and the food was excellent and plentiful. My best memory of Munich. I was able to eat at the Stammtich table in company, a great experience.
Unfortunately, the staff is completely overwhelmed at the first rays of sunshine. The friendliness was also much better. 45 minutes for a cappuccino? Really... how many days would I have to wait for a schnitzel... so unfortunately no hotspot.
We went to this bar that we found in the area to eat some tapas and the truth was it was a very mixed experience, we arrived without a reservation and they gave us a period of one hour to eat (very kind gesture on the part of the staff), the service was fast and the waiting time for the food was relatively fast, it must be said that the menu is 80% drinks and only a few food items. If you are looking for tapas you have to go to the bar where they are displayed and identified with a number, write it down on a piece of paper and give it to the waiter, on my visit all the tapas cost 7.60.
As for the food, some tapas were better than others with nothing to highlight and the most negative point was the unbearable noise inside the place, you couldn't even converse.
