München72 in München

Nowhere was there a horrendous price of €33 PER PERSON for the vegan fondue, instead people were misled with an alleged offer price of €23 (there is nothing about per person!) for fondue in January when pre-ordered. We made a reservation including stating that we wanted vegan fondue, but apparently that wasn't enough to take advantage of the offer and of course it doesn't apply to vegan fondue either! Please indicate the price and don't play hide and seek with it! The price of the vegan fondue was nowhere in the menus that we had on the table in the restaurant. It wasn't explained to us what was delivered with the fondue and it wasn't mentioned at all that the stuff for dipping could be refilled free of charge. It tasted very good, but for the rip-off price and misleading presentation, I'd rather make the vegan cheese sauce myself at home next time. Addendum: Let's not quibble about whether cheese can be vegan or not. There are many people who also use the term cheese (or schnitzel, milk, sausage, etc.) for the vegan version, for the sake of simplicity. So yes, as a layman I assume cheese fondue is an umbrella term, of which “vegan” can be a variant. And what other price should I expect if the vegan cheese fondue is nowhere on the menu that was presented to me? Tip: Check out “pre-order” in normal language or just think something customer-friendly. If I reserve a table online at a restaurant and select the vegan fondue from a drop-down menu, then I naturally assume that I have pre-ordered. If by pre-order you mean pre-pay, then say so.

I can't get enough of this restaurant. Despite the numerous options in the area, this one consistently exceeds my expectations.

At Munich 72 you can have a wonderful afternoon with coffee and vegan cake, as well as eat a nice burger. The service is outstanding, always attentive and super friendly. I think the prices for a burger with fries are too expensive. Otherwise everything was wonderful.

I went to this restaurant for the first time today and I have to say it was a fantastic experience. The staff greeted me warmly and I felt welcome from the first moment.

I had the burger and it was absolutely delicious. The service was also exceptional. Both the manager and the wait staff were incredibly friendly. I really appreciated her attention and positive attitude.

New Year's Eve: The cheese truffle fondue and the meat fondue were delicious. However, the dessert (parfait) was not at a restaurant level. The food and drink cost a total of €120 per person and was a bit expensive for what we did. The service was very different, the owner was very hectic and annoyed. The lovely serving daughter significantly improved the service. The ambience was great, the decoration was great, the seating was a flop. You had to squeeze out between the tables to get to the toilet.

New Year A hectic evening with lots of broken dishes. Instead of filling the restaurant so tightly that you can hardly get up and serve, I think the principle of “less is more” should be followed. At around 100 euros per person you can expect this! However, the truffle cheese fondue and the fondue chinoise were very tasty.

Great gin and tonics and the service was great. Would certainly recommend for those in the neighborhood to pop in.

Wow, the food here is absolutely amazing! This has to be one of the best restaurants in the area. Every dish looked so tempting that it was hard to choose just one.

We had a fantastic Christmas party at München72. The staff was quick and super friendly, even though it was busy. Always my pleasure!

The cheese fondue is mild and very tasty. Service was very accommodating, wines were great - value for money was reasonable. Unfortunately, the seating distances are unreasonable, you don't have enough space for your side dishes, you sit on the lap of your neighbor at the table and can also listen to all the conversations. This is often criticized, but unfortunately it falls on deaf ears from the boss. The volume on a Saturday evening was above average, making it a bit difficult to carry on a conversation.

We had the vegan „cheese“ fondue and it was spectacular! I have not eaten cheese for over 20 years, so I can’t compare the flavor. In and by itself it was a very pleasant and round flavor. Refills of all the food was included. The waiter was very attentive and friendly although the restaurant was packed. We enjoyed it a lot.

Thanks for a fantastic Christmas party! The ambience, food and staff deserve 5/5 stars. We had an unforgettable evening and will definitely be back next year! I have been to München72 many times and can recommend breakfast, lunch and dinner. Cheese fondue is an absolute must during Advent. If you really want to get into the Christmas spirit and have a good time, you definitely have to go there!

We only came here because every other café in the area was occupied and this one was was also super full already which is why we had to sit very close and kinda crammed to our neighbors. Even though this café has been rated quite well, the food was honestly a disappointment. We had avocado bread with egg and first of all the avocado was super hard and didn’t taste like anything. Second, the bread with egg was really nothing special - you can easily make it yourself at home. And last, the coffee was watery and cold which is kind of hard to achieve considering it was just black coffee. Bottom line: This was not worth it and we didn’t even take pictures.

Came here twice in a 3-day stay in München. The Münchner Schnitzel was fantastic, accompanied by some of the best fries I've had in Germany. The cheese fondue was also very tasty (requires a reservation, though). Would highly recommend both, and will definitely return in a future visit!

The location is fantastic and the food is absolutely amazing. Our server was extremely professional and had impressive knowledge of the menu. He provided us with detailed information and obviously knew his stuff.

Let's start with the slightly less pleasant points. Service was moderate to poor at the beginning. Music questionable to disturbing. Turn around in the middle of the evening. We end up at Marco's bar after 1:45 minutes when we were asked to pay because the next guests were waiting for our table with their welcome drink. A) there was a welcome drink?” B) our table reservation was 3/4 hours longer? Kudos to Marco and his bar - not only his service deserves 5 stars but also his Christmas Negroni with a cinnamon stick and speculoos surprise as a farewell :) If you love cheese and enjoy sitting at the bar at Marco's, you should treat yourself to an evening at München72!

I was here for dinner on the evening of July 31st. The schnitzel was great value for money and even American Express was accepted for credit cards. However, the toilets seemed very dingy, and on the way there there were dishes and leftover food piled up on the side. Not very tasteful. I would still come back.

Everything is just right here. There's something to look at for sports fans and retro lovers, including loving details on the walls and ceilings and wonderful '72 ashtrays, also a nice relic for non-smokers. In addition, absolutely friendly employees who enjoy what they do and remain relaxed and helpful despite the full café. Plus the extra delicious breakfast with a successful and varied selection. Feel free to clone yourself and open a branch in Hamburg, it doesn't really fit, but we would celebrate you.

I've been a regular at '72 for years. It's always delicious and there's always something new on offer. Lastly I had the vegan currywurst. And I have to say, this was the best currywurst I've had in a long time. Well, I've been vegetarian for a few years and it's been a while since my last "real Currwurst". Even if every meat/vegetarian comparison is flawed, the meal is damn good. Thank you for existing. Oliver

Located in one of the most beautiful corners of Munich with plenty of seating outside. Totally relaxed atmosphere. Very easy and spontaneous online reservation, which is really a big plus. The food tastes great and the staff are impressively nice, even though it can be really busy at times.

The Munich 72 is a feel-good place where you can enjoy good food with great vegan or vegetarian alternatives. The ambience is very lovingly designed and very special with the theme of the 1972 Olympics. I like to come back again and again.

This used to be one of my favorite stores, but after this Sunday I'm not so sure anymore. The guy at the door, in a white T-shirt and with a strange smell, kicked us out at 12 o'clock sharp, even though it was pouring rain outside. We just wanted to politely ask if we could wait 10 minutes until the car arrived. But despite the tip, he told us with a roll of his eyes and a super unfriendly tone that we had to leave immediately. Was this normal service or was it because we are Asian?

Service and food were okay. But then you only pay by card (which was not apparent before). The service was inflexible and couldn't say anything more than that the police allowed it. In my opinion, cash is still legal tender and I see this business practice as pseudo-modern paternalism.

Nice environment for a brekafast and food was ok but I waited one hour for my dish which was already paid online.

We reserved a table for Sunday brunch (11:00), and our order arrived after 1 hour waiting time. Still it was incomplete order! Waiting for the ordered bread, after another minutes of waiting, I went and picked it myself. We also had to wait long for our drinks to be served. The food was okay, nothing special but just good taste. Don’t think I would like to come again.

Please hire more staff during peak times. Sunday, 11:00. Place was packed to the brim, staff were clearly overwhelmed (not their fault, too few servers for so many tables), which caused food to sit undelivered, small orders like cake to take a long time, stuff being forgotten, etc. I’m sure my opinion would’ve been different had I come when it was emptier, but as it was we got lukewarm food for the most part and slow service (again, not servers fault, they were nice and apologetic for the situation). I do like that they have an online ordering system that allows you to order and pay straight away, and they take cards (it’s a cards only place AFAIR). I’ll likely return at some point to see what it’s like during calmer times.

We waited over an hour for the food. The people at the two tables next to us also waited over an hour. The staff is absolutely overwhelmed. The toilets are also very disgusting. The food is good at least.

We had booked for 12:00, and got our orders taken relatively quickly but the food did not arrive for another hour. The food was nothing special but not bad either. When multiple wasps started flying around our food we asked to be placed inside, the waitress said she would check but never got back to us. We ended up having to deal with the wasps by spraying them (and our food..) with water. We decided to leave eventually when it became too annoying. The waitress was still surprised/annoyed when we refused to tip..

Ordered food at the table using a QR code, after 45 minutes I asked for the first time whether the order had worked, the answer was “yes, it’s coming”. After 1 hour 15 minutes another waitress asked where the food was and that I was about to leave. After 1 hour 20 minutes the food came. Food was OK.

Friendly. Very nice to sit on, especially outside. For me personally, there could be a few more healthier dishes on the menu.

My partner and I went here for breakfast on 12/17/23. There's nothing much to complain about about the quality of the food here, but we're over it! Waited an hour for our breakfast. This could also be read in our recession... which lawyers are now trying to take action against. In my opinion, that's pretty petty. A small “sorry” would have actually done it. Fun fact: refuting the “slander” (because we were supposedly never there) is easy because we took some pictures and videos. Have fun in a place like this. Not recommended!

Positive: It's very nice to sit in and the breakfast is really tasty. Negative: The order was only taken after 40 minutes. The food and drinks arrived with such a delay that the last person didn't get their order until 2 hours after the first. The waitresses are friendly but it's just a shame when you have to ask for drinks 5 times and then still nothing comes. It's a shame but we won't be coming back.

Had a great breakfast at München 72. Upon arrival, the gentleman who showed us to a table was impatient. We ordered and had a nice meal. Lots of wasps and we waved them aside, the gentleman got angry that we did that. Because we were in a hurry we wanted to pay but my last ordered drink had not yet arrived. The gentleman was clearly irritated. Furthermore, a nice menu with plenty of choice and value for money.

The food was fine. It was very very slow, however. They apologized, but clearly something is not working correctly with this place.

The place is ok, they have lots of options and the food is ok too. Nothing special, but not bad either. However, what is really bad is the service. I was unlucky enough to have a waitress who clearly had no desire to do her job and was incredibly rude from the start. Honestly, if you're in the mood for a burger, just a few meters away there's Ruff Burger and their service is absolutely great. Maybe this lady could learn a lesson, or the restaurant should be more selective about who they use as wait staff. I will never go there again.

The place is cute and the food other people had looked pretty decent. HOWEVER, we ordered our food and then proceeded to wait 45mins for just our drinks. It was a busy Sunday, and we were all enjoying catching up, so the time went by fast. But then, after an hour and a half of waiting for our food, and watching people around us get a complimentary dessert due to the wait, we decided to pay for the drinks and leave. Such a disappointing restaurant.

We came with a good mood and left with a bad one. We received a very unfriendly welcome and had to wait an hour for the coffee and even longer for the food. Had to hear the boss yelling at his staff, which wasn't a nice experience. We were offered a table for 2 for 4 people. Only after asking vehemently did we get a table for four. When we asked where our food was, we were turned away in a very unfriendly manner. Addendum: I now understand where the “good” ratings come from. The reviews that do not suit the owner will be deleted.

First we waited an hour for the table, then an hour for the drinks, not to mention the wait to eat. I've never been treated so incredibly unkindly in my life, especially the boss was bad and really annoyed us and gave us a table for two for the four of us, so hey, what's the provocation? If the store were bankrupt it would probably be the best for everyone (the poor staff with the boss and for the guests). I worked in the catering industry myself and know that it can be stressful, but like that? Never again Edit: I was asked to change the recession or I would have to fear legal consequences, so the good reviews make everything clear.

Great location, perfect for ending the evening after a long day of assembly. The staff is super friendly, accommodating and funny, the Giant Whim Rushka Burger is an absolute recommendation (+bacon!) There are good drinks, top recommendation and not my last visit to the local 🙏🏻

This place is a gem! We sat outside (there's plenty of outside sitting) and as it got dark, colorful strings of lights created a magical atmosphere. The menu surprised me with its healthy options – there was a delicious bunless veggie burger loaded with fresh veggies, but I went with a halloumi bowl with a perfect balance of flavors (though a few more halloumi pieces wouldn't hurt!). They even serve beer in adorable mugs. Bonus points for the English-speaking staff. The kitchen was still open at 10pm. Highly recommend!

Nice entry dates with very nice employees. However, I don't think there's too much choice for food. Therefore only four stars for the food. Everything else is for us. I ate new food there and it was good.

It's actually a great shop with good food and nice service. Unfortunately, the boss is very unfriendly, runs around the store like a scared chicken and forces the guests to order something to eat so that he can generate more sales, even though they just want to drink something. The boss is the reason why I will no longer visit the store and would not advise anyone to do so. What a shame actually!

We had reserved a table for 8 people for the football game between Germany and Hungary last Wednesday. The game started at 6:00 p.m. and when we made the reservation we were told that we should be there from 4:00 p.m. because a lot of guests were expected. We got there promptly at 4 p.m., but it took a full hour before we finally got a table. When we finally wanted to order our drinks, we were told by the boss that we had to leave at 6:00 p.m. because all the seats were reserved. That was an absolute disgrace! To make matters worse, the table assigned to us was in the blazing sun. Despite repeated requests, we didn't get a parasol, which made the stay even more unpleasant. All our discussions and complaints were ignored, the service was rude and unprofessional. It was clear that the staff was overwhelmed and poorly organized. This experience ruined my evening and I will certainly never visit this restaurant again. Absolutely disappointing!

What can I say? Rarely have I seen/experienced something as unfriendly and disorganized as yesterday. Reserved for 4 p.m. with the condition “please before one Screen because we want to watch the game”. Reservation was accepted AND CONFIRMED (with the knowledge - we want to watch the game). Arriving on site at 4 p.m. on time, we were put off for 45 minutes with the message that we had to wait for “Tom or Thommy” from our boss. Shortly before 5 p.m. (almost 60 minutes after we sat around stupidly in the blazing sun, without a drink and without saying anything) we were brought to a table. After we had placed our drink order shortly after 5 p.m. (with the really nice and attentive waitress), the extremely unfriendly, seemingly overwhelmed boss came and told us that the table would be reserved elsewhere from 6 p.m. This would have been EXPLICITLY communicated in an email. Yes, it says that a replacement is possible after 2 hours. The question is: why do I accept a reservation that is expressly and exclusively for the game and then confirm it when the table has apparently already been reserved for someone else the whole time? And the next question is: If we reserve a table at 4 p.m., why was it not feasible for “München72” to serve us in that one hour and instead leave us standing in the sun without comment. We were a group of 8 people and were all shocked by this rude and incompetent customer service. NEVER AGAIN!

Very nice staff, delicious food and super delicious homemade cakes. I really like it there and can only recommend it, there is also a lot of choice for breakfast.

Good food but expensive. The food came faster and the service was good. People were also very nice. We ordered the cheese platter and olympia eier. But the quantity wasn't enough for the amount they charged for cheese platter (17,20€). Overrall it was good.

We had a cozy dinner at München72 and quickly decided on the “Allgäuer Kasspatzen”. Unfortunately we were quite disappointed with it. At times we wondered whether there was any cheese on the spaetzle and the spaetzle itself wasn't particularly tasty either. But the price was even more “intensive”. Especially as a native of the Allgäu, you naturally expect more. But the service was very friendly and the atmosphere was nice too. Maybe there are dishes that are better at München72 😉
