Devil`s Kitchen in Landsberg am Lech

The restaurant was very busy on Sundays, especially with families with small children, so there was a lot of noise in the entrance area. Although the restaurant was very full, the service was very friendly and served us quickly. Coffee was very strong, hot chocolate could use a bit of heat. Chocolate mandrl cake was good and not dry.

I can't rate the food, we went back beforehand. Were there on Sunday at around 2 p.m. Overcrowded, that would be normal, but very unfriendly and tense service. Pumpkin soup costs just under 8 euros. You're not really welcome with a dog, even though we have a toy poodle. The ambience reminds you of a canteen atmosphere. From the outside it promises more than it actually is. It's best to take a snack with you and sit at one of the many benches along the way.

Somehow this is slowly becoming a habit: full-bodied announcements and exuberant self-promotions that are then not kept to... "regional, fresh and with a lot of love". If only that were the case. However, there is clearly too much convenience involved and love doesn't really come into its own when cooking. Here, too, it would be better to announce that you are an acceptable mediocre. Furthermore, as a 'guest' you don't necessarily feel welcome if the staff is more annoyed than friendly. Only the location and the surroundings are outstanding here, the rest can be had anywhere else - and probably cheaper too. EDIT. Dear owner, ...no, this is definitely not a mix-up. Otherwise everything is already there - or do you not know your own website?

Staff unqualified, overwhelmed and sloppy... just because the weather is nice... a shame

Several tables waited over 1 1/2 hours for their food. Despite repeated requests, the food didn't come. People were always put off with “come now”. Some people with children have already gotten up. If there aren't enough staff, you can't set up as many tables. I don't see any reason to come back.

There aren't many guests here in the evenings in October. However, the service is still very good and we were able to order dessert and espresso despite being the only guests at the end. The food tasted good, the Kaiserschmarren was really excellent. The portion is enough for 2. The side salad was a bit drowned in the dressing, but you could still eat it. The size of the tables gives the impression that larger groups tend to come here. For the way back to the parking lot in the dark, it's a good idea to have a headlamp or flashlight with you.

Very pleasant, especially after a walk.

The walk to the Devil's Kitchen past the deep blue reservoir is very beautiful. We somehow expected more from the restaurant itself: whether it was the interior design, the food or the service - everything was neither particularly good nor particularly bad. Mediocrity in a beautiful location - a bit of a shame.

Better to avoid on days when there is a lot going on. As a guest you have the feeling of being a nuisance. The fact that there is a lot going on shouldn't always be presented to the guest by rolling their eyes as an excuse for everything. People are now used to high prices and these may sometimes be justified. But at €7.70 for a small portion of pumpkin soup, a slice of bread should be included. Unfortunately, visits to restaurants of this kind are now becoming the rule rather than the exception. Very unfortunate. 😕

We were there, everything was full. So we waited for 30 minutes. My wife looked upstairs. There was something free at the top. We were at the place, suddenly it was reserved. After some more waiting, a seat became available downstairs, then the unfriendly waitress came and said, there is a reservation here, they've been waiting for a long time. That wasn't true, we had been waiting for 40 minutes. We then went to the beer garden in Holzhausen in a friendly environment with a bad atmosphere

Magnificent location. Big windows. Filling meal very inexpensive and still delicious. It is beautiful here in the rain and in the heat. The surroundings with their wonderful nature are a comfort.

Great location in nature directly on the Lech and about 45 minutes on foot from Landsberg Mitte. The food was very good, the service and the prices were also ok.

Just WOW 🤩 We also happened to pass here by chance. The restaurant was very appealing, I had the Lechpfanne with pork loin, cheese spaetzle, beans and mushroom sauce for 20.10€ and my wife the Reiberdatschi with smoked salmon for 15.60€ which tasted GREAT, the König Ludwig, Dunkel and the Radler were also good. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I'm thrilled. 🤩 Parking directly in front of the door is not possible, but there is a small parking lot about 5 minutes away. Dogs are also welcome. We'll come back when we're nearby. Not to forget, the view is also beautiful, directly over the Lech.

The restaurant is cozy by the water. You can sit both inside and outside. You have to go up to the toilets. The service staff was unfriendly from the start, but conscientious. I would have liked the waitress not to explain (even when asked) that if you have two small children you should get the high chair from above yourself, because that's how they always do it. I would have wished that when I complained about a potato salad that was like mashed potatoes (floury potatoes instead of waxy ones) and was too vinegar-heavy, the waitress wouldn't respond with "everyone has a different taste" - especially not when it comes to the prices. It's a shame when the dish only consists of chicken and potato salad and you have to leave half of it for a dish that costs over 16 euros. The portion of pasta with tomato sauce (children's portion about 7 euros) was large, but tasted very German (with cream). The sauce from the roast pork was tasteless, the meat was very fatty, although the red cabbage was quite tasty - good size, but unfortunately very overpriced for over 17 euros. I think the location is great, the prices are overpriced, the service is too unfriendly and the food is mediocre.

I had the pleasure of dining at Teufelsküche - Josef Schubert restaurant in May and was delighted with the overall positive experience. We were warmly greeted as soon as we entered, and the friendly atmosphere made it easy to immediately feel at home. The ambience is cozy and inviting, ideal for a relaxing evening. The menu offers a good selection and the dishes we tried were solidly prepared and attractively presented. The focus is clearly on a pleasant overall experience, where the food is well integrated into the warm and welcoming atmosphere. Particularly noteworthy is the excellent service. The staff was attentive and courteous, always ready to help with a smile and respond to our needs. It's obvious that great emphasis is placed on hospitality here, which made the visit particularly pleasant. Absolutely top location, what more could you want, direct view of the lake, courteous staff and the best food in the area. The Kaiserschmarn is a poem like a cloud, the tagliatelle on the recommendation of the waiter is incredibly good and pensioners are also fed here and you have to go to the toilet Expect lots of applause. I recently had the pleasure of visiting Teufelsküche in Landsberg and I have to say the food was absolutely fantastic! I was particularly impressed by the Kaiserschmarrn. It was cooked perfectly – airy, slightly caramelized and simply delicious. Every forkful of it was a real treat. The remaining dishes were also of excellent quality and prepared with great attention to detail. The service was friendly and attentive, which made the visit even more pleasant. I can only warmly recommend Teufelsküche, especially if you are looking for a really good Kaiserschmarrn!

I was completely thrilled by the Schubert family's devil's kitchen. As soon as you enter the restaurant you can feel the warm and inviting atmosphere as well as the passion and dedication with which the Schubert family runs their restaurant. The menu is a real feast and I was in the uncharacteristic situation of not being able to decide. Every dish (starter and main course) I tried was made with fresh, local ingredients and superbly presented. I was particularly impressed by the creative interpretations of traditional dishes, which always impress with new, surprising accents. Special mention (from my point of view) goes to the “little greeting from the kitchen”, because although I have never wanted to try eggplant before, I absolutely loved the fried eggplant slices on hummus! The service in the Teufelsküche is first class. The team was always attentive, friendly and professional. Every wish I had was virtually met (without seeming intrusive) and the warm hospitality made my visit a completely successful experience. I found the Schuberts' ability to create a personal connection with their guests particularly impressive. I didn't just feel like a guest here, I actually felt welcome! This authentic warmth, coupled with culinary excellence, makes Teufelsküche a place that I enjoy visiting again and again. All in all good, only the service leaves something to be desired, which is due to the fact that they are understaffed. But they are friendly.

We were guests here on a sunny Sunday and enjoyed coffee and cake. The location is very nice, modernly furnished. Despite the hut being full, the waiting times were kept to a minimum.

The location is nice, near the lake, but we didn't like much the food. Plus, I asked a not so kind waitress a beer in bottle (that was in the menu) but she sharply replied that in Germany they generally drink beer in glass, so she decided to bring me a beer in glass. That I didn't like.

Arrived in a good mood. Put together 4 deck chairs so we could get something to drink on a great day. Meanwhile, the service lady came with an extremely brisk tone, asking how we could do this without asking you. Well how can you... so we went back and stopped at the LL beer garden. Friendly advice and the issue would have been clarified. And so we don't go back there anymore. Appreciation towards the guest/customer is definitely different.

The restaurant was open on the May 1st holiday. completely booked (that was to be expected). There were only two service staff present for the entire restaurant. Who had to serve both the ground floor and first floor areas. Accordingly, you can imagine how long the waiting times were. We waited around 35 minutes for our drinks (2x light beer) and around 90 minutes for our food (2x currywurst with fries). That is not possible!!! Especially since very expensive prices are charged (comparable to an expensive pub in Munich city). If you charge such high prices, then you should have sufficient staff. We were allowed to pay €14.50 each for our currywurst with fries (which didn't taste particularly good). We felt very sorry for the service staff present because of course they couldn't help the disastrous organization and had to endure the frustration of all the guests. The tenant really needs to make improvements here. Otherwise, the cleanliness left a lot to be desired, but that's to be expected given the crowds and the low number of staff.

We were served very nicely, on the terrace overlooking the lake. The food was also delicious. The homemade raspberry lemonade was also very refreshing and delicious. Since we were there on Friday lunchtime, it wasn't very busy and everything went smoothly. Great location in the middle of nature.

Delicious regional delicacies always freshly prepared and attractively presented. The staff is always very friendly and we always enjoy coming to the Teufelsmühle.

The location is great for a stop during a walk/hike along the Lech. You can sit on the terrace or inside. It can get drafty outside, so take something to wear over it in spring/autumn! We have been here twice so far, each on the weekend. It was very crowded both times and we had to wait until we could sit down with the whole family. The food was good both times. Apparently the restaurant is constantly struggling with staff shortages. The first time we had to wait an hour for warm food and half an hour for our drinks. Total no go. The second time, six months later, we were at least warned and didn't order anything warm because of it. We then waited 25 minutes for cake and drinks for a similar length of time. The service seemed overwhelmed. Well, it's actually nice there, but not worth the money because of the service situation. It's best not to come at peak times.
