Devil`s Kitchen in Landsberg am Lech

The food was delicious and the service was friendly and pleasant. The location on the Lech River is beautiful, and it was a great place to relax.

The location is very beautiful and peaceful next to the Lech. Food was tasty, but it took very long to get it. It was also very crowded and the interior not very cozy.

We left after 15 minutes without being served. The waiter walked past us several times without acknowledging us. When we tried to order at the counter, we were told there were enough waiters.

Despite the presence of many service staff, we still hadn't been served after 20 minutes and left without having accomplished anything.

Despite being open according to the website, it was closed.

We've been there twice already. I like this place; the service is great and very friendly. The food is delicious, and the view is magnificent. We'd love to come back. Note: Reservations are recommended for Sunday lunch. Otherwise, everything was great, as always!

If the food had been at least halfway good, we would have happily accepted the poor service – but apart from the location, nothing here is good. Dirty teacups, blackcurrant spritzer with stale soda, and the currywurst with fries taste better at any train station kiosk. The portion was more than adequate, but simply poorly and carelessly made. As with most day-trip restaurants with a view: bad food, rude service, and high prices. Maybe the cakes are good…

Simply wonderful here – the most beautiful spot after a walk or as a break during a bike ride. The path along the Lech River here or further to the wildlife park is worth a stop, despite the hassle of speeding cyclists. At least some Bavarian delicacies tempt you to linger longer in the Devil's Kitchen. The food is excellent and has improved significantly compared to earlier times.

If you close off the entire interior for a private party, it would be nice to mention it on the website or something similar. No space available, waiters disinterested. Shame on you.

The location and ambiance are very nice. Unfortunately, we had to wait 20 minutes for a piece of cake and 40 minutes for a piece of apple strudel. Since both dishes are pre-prepared and arrive with minimal effort, I find the wait times quite long, even at peak times. So, if you want to eat something here, you shouldn't be hungry, but you should bring plenty of patience and time.

Great atmosphere, everything beautifully clean. Incredibly delicious food. The staff is very polite. However, on weekends, when the weather is nice, there are long waits, but the surrounding nature is so beautiful that you're happy to wait. Keep it up! Great!

Another beautiful location right on the Lech River. Unfortunately, the service was completely inadequate. Our reservation was forgotten, despite two confirmations. We were served after 20 minutes, and the food arrived after 1.5 hours. The food was good and hot, but nothing exceptional.

Friendly service, whose friendliness couldn't compensate for an overwhelmed kitchen. Lukewarm dishes had to be returned, and unserved Kaiserschmarren had to be reordered. The Kaiserschmarren itself was tough. The plate of aspic offered on the menu turned out to be "Sauer Pressack." Not recommended! New attempt in June 2025: On a weekday, good service, delicious roast chicken, in short - everything was excellent. Recommended! Visit in September 2025: Delicious daily recommendation: "Summer salad with strips of veal liver." The liver was cooked to perfection 👍.

We've been coming to Teufelsküche for many years and have never been disappointed. Quite the opposite: my special requests have always been perfectly fulfilled, and we're already looking forward to our next visit.

We went to Teufelsküche for lunch with nine people, including children, and were unfortunately very disappointed. We had to wait a full 40 minutes for our drinks, and another half hour for the food to arrive. Such a long wait is particularly challenging, especially with children. The food itself was okay to good. Of course, it can happen that a team is understaffed or is particularly busy – that's completely understandable. But then it's all the more important to treat guests in a friendly manner and communicate openly about longer wait times. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. Therefore, despite the decent food, we cannot recommend the experience.

Unfortunately, we were simply disappointed with our visit. The food was nothing more than mediocre, and of the reserved free tables, only the one in the blazing sun was available. Strangely, the others remained unused for 45 minutes, and the sign on one table was removed after an hour. Our conclusion: once and never again. One star for the friendly waiter.

Since my stomach was rumbling around lunchtime during my bike ride along the Lech River today, the Teufelsküche (Devil's Kitchen) came in very handy. I ordered a Viennese baked chicken with potato salad and a glass of water. The food was delicious, and I was able to continue my bike ride feeling completely full... :-) I'd be happy to go back!

Worth a trip, but the food is ordinary, like any other restaurant.

It was our first visit here. Very attentive waiters in the restaurant, despite the large number of guests, we received our food very quickly, which was delicious. I would recommend anyone who passes by to eat something delicious there.

Super delicious, I have rarely eaten such a good schnitzel, not a frozen one but freshly breaded and fried, highly recommended.

The ambiance was really nice🥰 The cheese spaetzle weren't bad at all, but I would have preferred the salad to be served separately, and for €18 for cheese spaetzle, I would have expected homemade fried onions🙈 They still tasted very good.

A very nice location, but you have to pay accordingly. The food tasted okay, the portions were manageable, but the price was definitely not cheap. The staff was friendly, although one or two people seemed a bit overwhelmed. When paying by card, there was no receipt, and no one even asked if I needed one.

Very long waits for the food. When the first dish arrived, we were informed that the second dish was no longer available. Due to the long wait, we decided not to order the second dish.

There wasn't much or almost nothing going on with us, late in the evening with a fantastic sunset. Everything went accordingly quickly, the currywurst didn't come out wonderfully, a lot of fries, children's schnitzel and children's roast pork were perfect. Nice host, there was also a little chat with the guests from very close and very very far away. I love the walk from the car park, really beautiful and just the right length.

Really very good cuisine in an exceptionally beautiful location. We were traveling with a group of 8 people. We combined the visit with a short walk from LL through the Pössinger Au. Everyone felt really comfortable and was really excited about their choice of restaurant.

Great excursion destination with good food

Unfortunately, the staff is completely overwhelmed at the first rays of sunshine. The friendliness was also much better. 45 minutes for a cappuccino? Really... how many days would I have to wait for a schnitzel... so unfortunately no hotspot.

The meal was very tasty, the waiting time was a bit long as it was very busy. The staff is still super friendly and quick on the move, despite the long distances they walk. A really nice excursion restaurant in a great location! Nice selection of food, large portions.

We waited 50 minutes in the blazing sun for a drink, which was then brought completely non-carbonated after we asked several times. The food came after about 1.5 hours, curry sausage with fries. The sausage was rubbish, the fries were soggy and not salty and the sauce tasted like it had been bought ready-made. It took another hour to pay. The service employee was extremely unfriendly, probably because she was stressed. So after over 2.5 hours we were finally able to leave the restaurant to start our actual tour through the wildlife park. When I expressed my criticism to the employee, she told me very unkindly that 3 people were canceled that day and they still decided to open the restaurant. In my opinion, three more people wouldn't have saved the whole thing, because there were too few cooks or kitchen assistants, too few people at the bar and too few service staff. During the holidays on the first nice weekend of the year. Then you could only pay in cash, which was not written anywhere, which led to various discussions with the service employee. You could have saved yourself and your guests time and stress by either pointing this out directly or putting small signs on the tables saying “cash payment only possible”. The only nice thing was the view from the restaurant. Everything would have been okay if they had said kindly from the start, “Unfortunately, various employees left us at short notice, we can't keep up at the moment, you can expect very, very long waiting times or move on.” But as unfriendly as we and many other guests were treated, unfortunately you can't ignore the bad food, the long waiting time and the lack of drinks.

Location great, staff super friendly. Still waiting times of 30 minutes for an espresso with cake. 1 hour for a meal. With great weather on Saturday, 2 waitresses are far too few, and the kitchen and bar are also completely overwhelmed. You would make a lot more sales if you didn't have to wait so long.

I can recommend it, but the staff is overwhelmed on weekends. In the garden you have to get drinks and food yourself, you have to queue and for us that takes 30 minutes.

I was very disappointed with the service yesterday! I was there with two dogs and wanted something to eat and drink... After I waited on the terrace and realized that no one was coming, I called and politely asked if there was no one serving outside. The answer was no, it was self-service. I then explained to the woman that I had two large dogs with me and that there were other people on the terrace with dogs. I can't hold two large dogs and balance coffee and cake at the same time. Unfortunately, the woman had no understanding whatsoever because the waitress could get sick in the cold weather. My understanding of this decision/reasoning is limited.

Either it was a bad day or I'm spoiled... I honestly had to wait 45 minutes for my “simple” currywurst/fries. They always said it would be ready in 10...15 minutes. I had to walk up from outside three times! In the end it didn't even taste good! The sausage was soggy, there was hardly any salt on the fries and the sauce had no taste and that for the money 😞

The restaurant was very busy on Sundays, especially with families with small children, so there was a lot of noise in the entrance area. Although the restaurant was very full, the service was very friendly and served us quickly. Coffee was very strong, hot chocolate could use a bit of heat. Chocolate mandrl cake was good and not dry.

I can't rate the food, we went back beforehand. Were there on Sunday at around 2 p.m. Overcrowded, that would be normal, but very unfriendly and tense service. Pumpkin soup costs just under 8 euros. You're not really welcome with a dog, even though we have a toy poodle. The ambience reminds you of a canteen atmosphere. From the outside it promises more than it actually is. It's best to take a snack with you and sit at one of the many benches along the way.

Somehow this is slowly becoming a habit: full-bodied announcements and exuberant self-promotions that are then not kept to... "regional, fresh and with a lot of love". If only that were the case. However, there is clearly too much convenience involved and love doesn't really come into its own when cooking. Here, too, it would be better to announce that you are an acceptable mediocre. Furthermore, as a 'guest' you don't necessarily feel welcome if the staff is more annoyed than friendly. Only the location and the surroundings are outstanding here, the rest can be had anywhere else - and probably cheaper too. EDIT. Dear owner, ...no, this is definitely not a mix-up. Otherwise everything is already there - or do you not know your own website?

Staff unqualified, overwhelmed and sloppy... just because the weather is nice... a shame

Several tables waited over 1 1/2 hours for their food. Despite repeated requests, the food didn't come. People were always put off with “come now”. Some people with children have already gotten up. If there aren't enough staff, you can't set up as many tables. I don't see any reason to come back.

A big disappointment! Waited 40 minutes to order food and after 30 minutes of waiting I got my coffee. Had to do another 30 Waiting minutes for my Kaiserschmarn. Cannot recommend this restaurant at all

There aren't many guests here in the evenings in October. However, the service is still very good and we were able to order dessert and espresso despite being the only guests at the end. The food tasted good, the Kaiserschmarren was really excellent. The portion is enough for 2. The side salad was a bit drowned in the dressing, but you could still eat it. The size of the tables gives the impression that larger groups tend to come here. For the way back to the parking lot in the dark, it's a good idea to have a headlamp or flashlight with you.

The walk to the Devil's Kitchen past the deep blue reservoir is very beautiful. We somehow expected more from the restaurant itself: whether it was the interior design, the food or the service - everything was neither particularly good nor particularly bad. Mediocrity in a beautiful location - a bit of a shame.

Better to avoid on days when there is a lot going on. As a guest you have the feeling of being a nuisance. The fact that there is a lot going on shouldn't always be presented to the guest by rolling their eyes as an excuse for everything. People are now used to high prices and these may sometimes be justified. But at €7.70 for a small portion of pumpkin soup, a slice of bread should be included. Unfortunately, visits to restaurants of this kind are now becoming the rule rather than the exception. Very unfortunate. 😕

Beautiful view and very friendly service. The food is quite good, the schnitzel and the Kaiserschmarrn were very tasty. However, it is quite expensive and the portions are rather small.

We were there, everything was full. So we waited for 30 minutes. My wife looked upstairs. There was something free at the top. We were at the place, suddenly it was reserved. After some more waiting, a seat became available downstairs, then the unfriendly waitress came and said, there is a reservation here, they've been waiting for a long time. That wasn't true, we had been waiting for 40 minutes. We then went to the beer garden in Holzhausen in a friendly environment with a bad atmosphere

Many have given their positive reviews. We can only agree with this. From the attentiveness of the service, the quality of the food, the reasonable price, the beautiful ambience to the clean (men's) toilet, this is a place I would visit again at any time.

The Teufelsküche impresses with a very nice ambience and a breathtaking view. The restaurant has a cozy and stylish atmosphere that invites you to linger. The food is very good, the dishes taste great and are creatively presented. Service overall was good, although not exceptional. Overall, a successful visit, with only small details missing to achieve full marks. I'd love to come back!

Magnificent location. Big windows. Filling meal very inexpensive and still delicious. It is beautiful here in the rain and in the heat. The surroundings with their wonderful nature are a comfort.
