Food very tasty🙂 and recommendable

Simple village restaurant, from the 70s. Small menu, but the food is all great, whether cold or warm. Our favorite is always the rum steak with fries and salad with fried onions, very cheap and delicious. Eating like mom's, I love restaurants like this. Very nice boss who still cooks herself and you can tell. 5* We keep coming back. 👌💪☺

A nice, rustic pub in the heart of Gengenbach. The atmosphere is cozy, the service is friendly and attentive and the tarte flambées are super tasty. In summer there is the option to sit outside. We'd love to come back.

Our food was okay, but overall the visit to the restaurant was not convincing. The service in particular left a lot to be desired: the waiter smelled noticeably of alcohol and was talkative, but things became unpleasant when he put his hand on my shoulder without being asked. In addition, our packed food was also swapped as we left. The food was plentiful and tasted satisfying. The atmosphere wasn't right either - the smell of the neighboring pub wafted into the restaurant, which made the stay unpleasant. Unfortunately, the children's corner cannot compensate for such deficiencies. It's a shame, because it was supposed to be a nice Easter dinner with the family. So all that remains is an unsatisfactory impression.

We had dinner in the casket. We made a reservation the day before and unfortunately we still sat at a table that seemed “so seated”. When we made a reservation we wanted something different. One of the two waitresses seemed overwhelmed and stressed, which made an unfriendly impression. The food in general was delicious and we were satisfied so far. For me, the dish could have used more spice. When I asked for pepper and salt, I received a stressed response: "It's all gone, I have to check if there's anything left" -> that implies to me that it wasn't just me that wasn't seasoned enough. In general, it's nice to sit on the terrace & the food is good and reasonably priced.

Also a very good address in Gengenbach for business meals. The employees and the boss herself always give you a warm and friendly welcome. Any special requests will be taken into account and everything will be made possible. You almost feel like you are at home. Not to forget the beautiful beer garden.

We had a small wine tasting (spontaneous) for two people in the Winzerstüble. The wine tasting is arranged in a roulette and is a lot of fun. The staff is friendly and quick. We sat on the terrace, which is directly adjacent to the casket. It's a cozy place! Since we didn't eat, I can't give a review. The dishes that were served at the next tables looked delicious! We'd love to come back 😊 Next time with food!

Very satisfied with all the dishes, whether the 4-course menu with fish, tomahawk steak or cordon blue, the attentive service and the lovingly decorated dining room, we would like to recommend this restaurant to others!

I just came there spontaneously because I was hungry. Since it's still Lent at the moment and I'm avoiding sausage, meat and sugar, I had a vegetarian kebab. Super tasty and above all, it was warm!! A really good warm kebab and without meat. Simply amazing!! And the tomato that was in it had a really good taste. Just like the ones from mom's garden. Definitely recommended!!

I've been spending short holidays in Gengenbach for years and the Steinkellerhaus is always a 'must'. The great, special ambience, the very tasty (Baden) tapas and good service were always the decisive factors for this. We were there again recently and the tapas were once again great, in complete contrast to the service! The cola I ordered was completely non-carbonated, which can happen. In the 'normal case' you get a new drink, but not here... The young waitress took the cola from me, filled it up with mineral water, gave me the cola back and then simply said: "Ok?" I was speechless and the cola was now also watery. Afterwards we were pretty much ignored and not asked if we wanted a new drink, whether the food was tasty or anything like that. The dishes weren't cleared away either, even though the restaurant was half empty. In times of staff shortages, especially in the catering industry, it is of course not so easy to find good staff, but with such service you are not doing yourself or the Steinkellerhaus any favors. Hopefully the next visit will be more enjoyable!

Best pizza I've ever eaten, a real Italian with extremely good prices. €13.50 for a pizza this big is really mega. Drinking is a bit more expensive but it was also imported from Italy.

Unfortunately, the visit to the restaurant was very disappointing. The entire drink order (mineral water, aperitif, wine) was served incorrectly - either in the wrong quantity or as the wrong product. The waiting times for drinks and food were extremely long, even though the restaurant was not fully occupied. On a positive note, the pumpkin soup as a starter was very tasty. The pork fillet tips, on the other hand, were unfortunately fried for far too long and were therefore very dry. The vegetables are frozen and not fresh. The sauce and the spaetzle looked and tasted as if they were not homemade (assumption). We skipped dessert. The staff was very friendly the whole evening.
