Super bad and rude how they serve. The fat lady is a grump. The older lady throws the plates and cutlery into the kitchen and grumbles because the previous people had left a lot of food and drinks behind. I'll never come there again.

Not recommended under any circumstances. Service staff are so unfriendly, snippy, even cheeky. The seating is catastrophic, every inch of profit has been exploited. As soon as you want to move your own chair a little, you bump into the next table. Sitting down at the table had already been a challenge. Unfortunately, the umbrella didn't provide enough shade, so we wanted to move our chairs to the side...immediately the waitress came and warned us not to do this.....! Conclusion: I will never enter this unfriendly and overpriced restaurant again. It's a shame that you are treated like this as a guest.

We had some delicious pizzas for dinner after a walk through Gengenbach. Delicious ice creams also for dessert. Very friendly Italian staff.

You could actually have a fantastic time hanging out here and enjoying the day if you didn't receive such outrageously unfriendly and dismissive service. If you have an exposed location in a highly touristy town, it doesn't seem necessary to treat the guest in a somewhat friendly manner so that they feel comfortable and perhaps come again.

Unfriendly and small portions. We stopped by the outdoor area in the early afternoon and wanted to have a drink and eat some ice cream. The waitress received us so unfriendly that we should have left immediately. Still we stayed, which was a big mistake. Because: comfortable, relaxed sitting is different! The tables outside are so close together that you inevitably constantly touch the people at the next table, probably just to squeeze one more table into the row. Moving a table by 10 cm is not allowed; you will immediately be harshly reprimanded. The portions are very small compared to the many ice cream parlors I regularly visit, and the price is decidedly too high. Although I even ordered the “large spaghetti ice cream portion” for 7.50 euros (!), I was more than disappointed. For comparison: a week ago near Cologne I received an amount that was almost twice (!) as large for 6.50 euros, that says it all... In the end we were refused card payment (also very unfriendly), even though we were only a few cents away from 20 euros. We had enough and left pretty soon and won't be going back there again.

Great pizzeria and ice cream parlor located directly opposite the town hall. The chairs and tables are relatively narrow, but great under the umbrellas. Our starter (snackeria) was very extensive, the pizza, which is a small one, was very large. The bruscetta looked nice, unfortunately it wasn't as intensely seasoned as expected. After a great day of excursions with a delicious lunch (not at Michelangelo) we wanted to end the day with a delicious ice cream. We took a seat outside. Delicious ice cream, good price (€1.50 for a scoop) and good selection. The Michelangelo variety is particularly recommended. You can enjoy the ice cream wonderfully on a bench in the beautiful market square in Gengenbach!

Today I was on a bike tour from FDS to Offenburg and took a break at Michelangelo. I was pleasantly surprised by the price and size of a scoop of ice cream. Service was also nice, a nice stay all in all

Clearly, the pizzas are really tasty. In my opinion it was, it doesn't live up to the hype. The ice cream is good, just as good as anywhere else in the area, the service is a disaster, endless waiting, bad-tempered, loud ladies, coffee was lukewarm when it finally arrived, it's best to pay straight away, otherwise you'll wait even longer.

At first I didn't think anything special for the price, but when I saw the ball size I was very positively surprised. Price per scoop is very fair, spaghetti ice cream is also comparatively cheap. The taste was also great, I particularly liked the lemon and sour cherry.

Stopped here for a drink and look at the menu. Staff were very slow in giving us menus and serving us, but stood about gossiping among themselves rather than attending to customers. Decided not to eat here..an extra large size 58cm was €62 !!!When we wanted to pay by card the drinks should have been €13.50, but the bill was for €15..then told we couldn't pay by card if total was less than €20..Nowhere was this shown or explained anywhere, on menu, or by staff when ordering. We eventually paid the correct price of €13.50 in cash..but not a pleasant experience.

The price/performance ratio for the food is completely fine. The service staff was pretty unmotivated, the scoop of ice cream as a dessert with the lunch menu was forgotten and, according to the service staff, card payment was not possible due to the weather. The ambience naturally suffers due to the immediate proximity of the outdoor seating to the main road.

We have been visiting Michelangelo for a long time now and again at different times, sometimes for ice cream sundaes, sometimes for warm dishes, because the ice cream and pizzas are very good for our taste. But if you go there these days, you should be prepared for absolutely unmotivated, unfriendly and incompetent operating staff. You have to have a lot of equanimity to endure this.

Run by "real" Italian employees, there is sometimes a real, hectic, Italian atmosphere, which is why the service can sometimes seem a bit difficult. Pasta and pizza were tasty and large portions.

We arrived at the Michelangelo with 10 people and only found the space we needed inside. We were turned away because apparently only service was served outside. We then went somewhere else for ice cream. Apparently the Michelangelo no longer needs to sell ice cream for 10 people.

Our sundaes were very good, but also very expensive. The ice cream sundaes here range between 11 and 14 euros. The service was relatively unfriendly and involved lengthy discussions with other guests who complained. Still probably the best ice cream parlor in Gengenbach, which also has great antipasti and pizzas.

War enttäuscht, in der Speisekarte standen Salat mit Calamari und Scampi. Bekommen habe ich keine Scampi (Kaisergrant) sondern viel billigere Gambas! Auch war ich überrascht, keine frischen Calamari, sondern in Panade vorgebackenen Tiefkühl Calamari-Ringe, die in der Pfanne erwärmt wurden, zu bekommen! Alles in Allem war der Salat seine über 21 € nicht wert.

Die Preise stehen nicht im Verhältnis zu dem was geboten wird, so zumindest was die von uns bestellten Pizzen betraf. Kein Geschmack und getränkt in Öl. Kartenzahlung angeblich wegen schlechtem Internetempfang nicht möglich. Das Lokal lebt einzig von seiner zentralen Lage.

The food was really delicious. There is a deduction for service. The tip was accepted casually, without a word of thanks or a farewell. As a guest you feel more like a nuisance; in our presence, other guests were treated extremely unfriendly. The terrace had far too many seats, just too many people in one place.

I asked the server if the Taleggio was gratinated on the bruscetta. The service told me that this was the case and I received it exactly as shown in the picture. And that doesn't represent any value for money. Scampi that are on the menu are actually shrimp and when the deficiency was pointed out, that was the only response. I have no idea.

It's not my style to give a negative review. I ordered a cold drink today. With us I get it ready in the glass. I was given a glass with ice cubes and a can, and I had to pour them too. Then I could have gone to a kiosk. The whole thing for 5 euros.

Pizzas were normal. Bruschettas weren't that tasty. They were too expensive and tasteless. My drink was forgotten. Very unfortunate!

Well, I've wanted to eat there 3 or 4 times in the last few months. Checked the opening times online and every time the door was closed. This also includes company holidays. There is no notice on the website, Google, Facebook or on the answering machine that it is closed. This was probably our last attempt. Now we have a new, better Italian restaurant in Gengenbach!

Delicious food and nice restaurant

Unfortunately, the service was poor in some of the cafés and restaurants I've been to so far, but my visit to "Michelangelo" in Gengenbach on December 31, 2023 really eclipsed - in a negative way - everything I've experienced so far. It started when my parents and I walked into the restaurant and were literally shouted at by the (presumed) boss that we would be assigned a seat and that we should keep our feet still until then. After waiting a few minutes and nothing, nothing at all happened, we allowed ourselves to go up and look around for a place. There we met a waiter who literally told us that the three of us should squeeze into a seating area, even though there were several other seats available in the restaurant. So my parents and I squeezed ourselves into the seating area. In a piece of seating that was so aesthetically horrifying that it could have come from Stanley Kubrick's darkest nightmare. And the disaster began: After another waiter came to us and we ordered two espressos and a cappuccino, we asked him what other cake there was. He said he would look downstairs to see what was left. A few minutes later... nothing happened. Then the "first" waiter (the one who initially ordered us to sit in the Stanley Kubrick memorial chair; you may remember) came over and handed us over - without a tray! - with shaky hands, the two espressos and the cappuccino. We were literally afraid that the coffee would spill on us. And the waiter was probably extremely afraid of his boss's next freak out, otherwise he wouldn't have been shaking so much. But perhaps that was also because the horrific atmosphere of this establishment affected him as much as it did us. After all, the poor guy must be there almost every day. After what felt like an eternity, during which we almost forgot that we had asked about the choice of cake, waiter number two finally appeared again with the message that - tadaaaa! - NOT A SINGLE PIECE OF CAKE left. And that in the afternoon between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. The fact that this establishment can call itself a café is still a mystery to me to this day. My mother was already almost traumatized and asked my father and me to pump down our coffee as quickly as possible so that we could leave this inhospitable place as soon as possible. Said and done. I downed my espresso, put on my jacket and went down the spiral staircase to pay. After I ordered the bill from waiter number two, he calculated the amount and then told me that CARD PAYMENT was NOT POSSIBLE. It just keeps getting better, doesn't it? Unfortunately, I didn't have any cash with me, so I had to call my father to pay. And now hold on tight: the waiter imitated me (!) by saying “Papaaaa!” in a high-pitched voice. shouted and even gave me a nasty grin. At that moment I was about to explode and scream in the waiter's face about what an impudent person he was. It was only with great difficulty that I was able to control myself. We paid as quickly as possible and quickly left the "Michelangelo" before any further trouble could arise. Dear Sir or Madam, I would like to summarize: If you would like to experience a traumatic event in a relatively barrier-free manner and are inclined towards masochism, visit the "Michelangelo" in Gengenbach. You won't be disappointed. However, if you care in the slightest about your mental health and like to be treated like a human being when you go out, don't set foot in this establishment! The salad was a complete disaster, dry and very carelessly prepared and not dressed. There were a total of 5 cloves of garlic in the gnoccis without garlic being on the menu. Pizza was very thin and not particularly good. The service was unfriendly and unfortunately no one came when we wanted to pay. We cannot recommend this restaurant at all.

We were there for New Year's Eve dinner. Unfortunately the staff was very unfriendly. I told the waitress a small apple spritzer (with still water) for my daughter, who is just 2 1/2 years old. Afterwards the waitress brought me a large glass that she would never be able to drink. When I asked if they didn't have a small one, I was given the curt answer "same price" with a very dirty look. The side salad was not dressed and not edible at all. Afterwards we ordered the main menu, pizza salmon/mascarpone with rocket Unfortunately the arugula was missing, so we kindly pointed out to the waitress that the arugula was missing. Then again very rude and unfriendly, we wouldn't have ordered this. “I’ll bring it soon” It was then served dressed in a bowl. Very unfortunate. We won't be coming again under any circumstances.

Very very tasty pizza and very tasty spaghetti bolognese. Drinks and food arrived super quickly. There was a high chair available and no one complained about the noise or how dirty our children were. The decor oscillates between nice and a bit strange, but is cozy.

Unfortunately, prices for the tarte flambée (feta and classic) are anything but justified. Tarte flambées go frozen into the pizza oven. The tarte flambée base ends up burnt from below, still doughy on the inside, on a wooden board on the table. Diameter approx. 25cm - unfortunately the topping doesn't taste particularly good, there is way too much pepper on it in places. To then charge €9.50 for this is quite exaggerated. We are very disappointed and are definitely used to better things at the same prices in the area. It was also a shame that while we were eating we were disturbed by loud vacuuming upstairs and arguing staff. .

The pizza is delicious, unfortunately just totally overpriced... just like my vegetarian antipasti plate (18€) only for some grilled vegetables (peppers, zucchini, aubergine & an artichoke heart👆🏼) some broccoli and cauliflower was also on it, but in my opinion it doesn't belong there ...I would have liked some tomato mozzarella or bruscetta with it... The ambience is quite nice, but unfortunately you sit on the street and the tables wobble. You can do it better!

Localizado na praça central de Gengenbach o prédio é muito bonito externamente, ambiente agradável e aconchegante, comida típica italiana, pratos variados da culinária italiana, o macarrão carbonara estava fantástico e minha esposa pediu lasanha bolonhesa que também estava divina, o atendimento é muito bom, vale visitar.

Si te gusta cenar a una hora normal, este es tu sitio en gengenbach. Nos han atendido en español, italiano e inglés... mucha facilidad por parte de los camareros en adaptarse. La comida ha estado lista en menos de 15 minutos los gnoccis con queso increíbles si te gusta el queso y las pizza pequeña más que suficiente para una persona y espectacular 👌.
