Highly recommended place to eat authentic Italian food in the black forest, the waiters speak Italian and Spanish, the food is very well priced and the place is very nice.

Not worth a review. Unfriendly staff. The order is not recorded in writing, so the food and drink of a companion was forgotten, the dessert was charred and an attempt was made to cover it up with berry decorations. Main course was good. Rest of the disaster. I won't go there anymore. Simply disappointing. It's a shame because the main course and pizza are good. But you should also be able to feel comfortable. The staff here should urgently receive training.

We stopped to eat with my family since we thought it was a nice and pleasant place, but not only the place, the waiters were very friendly, the pizzas were delicious and the tiramisu was the best I have ever tried. We arrived at 2:10 and they didn't give us anything to eat even though there was a sign that they closed at 2:30.

The pizza makes a good impression at first, but the price is really not justified. We ordered by phone. When we arrived and wanted to walk down to the dining room, we were hissed at in a very unfriendly manner by a service person. We should stand at the top of the stairs and wait as she would check on our food. She arrived with 3 pizza boxes (we had ordered 2 pizzas and 1 bruscetta) I mistakenly got confused and informed her that we had only ordered 2 pizzas and the appetizer. She replied again very annoyed. So we paid (but didn't receive a receipt). When my partner pointed out the price of €44 I was shocked! Online on the map the prices were significantly lower. So we deliver back to inform the service force. She was cashing out a table at the moment, so we wanted to wait until she was finished. She turned around and asked again very rudely what we wanted. I told her we would wait until she was finished at the table. But she says we should say what we want. I explained my problem to her and she said “someone uploaded the card online years ago and the prices aren’t right”. Since we didn't want to bother the table where she was standing any longer, we left. In the end we also received and paid for 2 large pizzas, even though we had ordered a small and a large one. They weren't cut either, even though I asked specifically about them. I also work in the catering industry and can't understand this unfriendly behavior, even on a stressful day. So unfortunately they lost us as customers.

It's very comfortable to sit there and the food is very good. Pizza has a very thin dough with a crispy edge and very fresh ingredients and tastes very good. Waiter was very friendly and funny too. I can only recommend. But you should have reserved in advance, otherwise it is not guaranteed that you will get a place.

Best Italian restaurant in the region!!! Pizza top and all other dishes always fresh and tasty. Nando is the boss and the good soul in the restaurant. Lunch for 9€ salad and pizza or pasta is amazing. I like to go there often 😄

Pizza was okay, service wasn't very friendly, the atmosphere was nice but you were almost sitting on the lap of the person sitting next to you (a stranger). There are definitely better pizzas in Ortenaukreis.

We have been to this Italian restaurant many times! Unfortunately, in recent years it has always been so full there that we thought there was no room! We didn't know that there were more tables in the basement!!! The ambience actually knocks everyone out of their shoes... a lot of attention to detail. Starting from the counter, everywhere in the restaurant there are bottles of wine, various schnapps, whiskey... and much more. Half Fiat car parts staged with light... Lots of clever and funny sayings on the walls. There is a lot to see!!! The old cellar vault does the rest. Feel-good factor!!! The round oven is in the back room! Had 2 pizzas, both times with super thin dough, well topped with fresh ingredients. I didn't know such a dough, it was very tasty. Once I baked three types of pasta... simply top and delicious. My companion had penne with minced sauce and a generous amount of parmesan. Lasagna, pizza ham salami. Everything is fresh, well topped and plentiful. Normal pizza 30cm. Service.....had a great, non-intrusive perfume on it! The gentlemen are a little shy! The boss is very nice... everyone always tries hard, top! Price / performance = totally reasonable I would highly recommend.....1000 thanks for the very good food in a great ambience. Thanks

Just before the lunch break (Italians are strict about this) I ordered a daily suggestion and a large pizza. In the daily suggestion - for less than €10! - a salad, small pizza and cup of coffee were included. Now we didn't think the pizza was "small" even though mine was clearly a bit bigger,... but the pizza baker himself assured us that we were going to process it completely 😉 And he was right ❗️Although I didn't have any for the rest of the day hungry more. A surprise.

The four of us recently had pizza...it was great...it was full, but everyone was still very friendly...the only thing I would like to say is: don't make the Aperol Spritz so thin :-)

Was a little hesitant to visit after reading reviews and seeing negative responses on service but glad I went! The food that I had (The Palrimo pizza and Campari Soda) were both excellent. On the pizza side, the crust was thin but with a nice center with a crisp outside but softer center. The proportions on toppings was a great balance, and the flavors combined well! Everyone also seemed to be enjoying their food as well! The portions are also quite large, with even the small pizza (they offer two, I ordered the smaller) being more than enough for one person. Also they have a lot more pizza options than I see in current photos, id estimate between 30-40 different pizzas. On therl service front, I can somewhat understand where some of the reviewers had issues. First, not knowing any german may make like difficult. As Gengenbach is a smaller town in Germany, most people (that I've encountered anyway) have a limited vocabulary in English, which isn't surprising, but can make ordering difficult. I have limited skill with German but was able to get by with my broken conversational phrases (and quick glances at Google translate) so its not a major issue. In addition, I refrained from even trying to use English so they know more than one expects. People may also have better results with Italian or French given the region but can't say for sure. Also on service, I wouldnt call any behavior I encountered rude, though some is definitely different than what one may be used to. One of my two servers was very direct and to the point, and didnt really offer any recommendations when I asked, instead simply offering a shrug. I've known some restaurants to refrain from doing so, as some view that the entire menu is recommended, that's why it's on the menu, so I understand. Also it takes a bit more than simple quick eye contact to alert the server that you need something, but wouldn't say it's rude, they are just letting you eat. Overall, the staff were nice and courteous, even if a bit different from what I am accustomed to. As for atmosphere, it's a very cozy and warm place, great for night of good food and drinks with friends! They also accept both cash and credit cards (though I don't know which cards)

Bei negativen Kritiken wird mit dem Anwalt gedroht was zum Gesamtbild der Unfreundlichkeit passt. Die Freundlichkeit hat im La Grappa vor allem nach der Pandemie extrem nachgelassen. Zeitweise schwierig telefonisch zu erreichen. Sehr lange Lieferzeiten. Bestellt man auf eine bestimmte Uhrzeit zur Abholung mussten wir trotzdem noch 20min. warten. Die Pizzen sind zwar ok, aber der Service hält uns von Bestellungen oder einem Besuch zukünftig ab. Das macht einfach keinen Spaß!!

There can always be long waiting times, but if you are then treated stupidly when you ask cautiously, that is out of the question. If the lady doesn't like people, maybe she should look for another job. In any case, we won't be coming back.

An absolute disgrace. We had rented something for 16 adults and 4 children, but on the day we wanted to eat it was closed and had to look for another location for the celebration. The next day I called and I was even talked to stupidly. I would prefer not to give it a star, but see it as a consolation star.

A quaint Italian restaurant that reminds me of the legendary La Pulci in Solofra Campania as soon as I enter. Typically the pasta dishes and the pizza are great. And the prices are completely reasonable too.

Rustic economy, incredibly great. Everything was fine. Food awesome. If you don't go here, you're missing out.

Nice atmosphere, but nothing more! Even on the 4th attempt, the food wasn't convincing. Criticism is not accepted, on the contrary, cheeky comments are made. Pizza that doesn't taste good in terms of dough and is soggy. You have to look for the ingredients on the menu on the pizza...Ravioli that were probably next to the truffle and therefore taste, just a touch, like truffle...Parmesan, which will definitely taste like Parmesan in 3 months, there it then matured... It's a shame, after all you're happy to pay more if it tastes good. Unfortunately not in this case.

I don't usually write reviews but the rude and hostile response of the staff made me want to warn people about this place. It's unbelievable that these people work in the service industry and treat their customers.

Was there on a busy Saturday with my child. Had to wait 1.5 hours and the food still wasn't there. When I complained, the service was rude and said you could leave if you didn't like it. We left immediately and will never come back to this unfriendly shop! Friend later told me similar stories about this place where the quality used to be better!!!!

Toll, urig und leckere Pizzen in neapolitanischem Style

Auch ich wurde von Google ermahnt meine Rezension auf Aufforderung von der Inhaberin La Grappa zu entfernen. Ich bin der Aufforderung nachgekommen, es bleibt aber dabei, das Restaurant ist ein Wartsaal, das Essen so so la la, die Bedienung das unhöflichste was ich bisher in einem Restaurant oder einer Pizzeria erleben durfte.

Sehr tolle und schöne Pizzeria, vor allem wenn man hinten im Kellergewölbe saß. Pizzas und Pasta sehr lecker 😋, zum Essen gehen definitiv vorher reservieren 👍👍

Cela fait des années que nous sommes clients et La grappa est de loin le meilleur restaurant italien de Gengenbach (et environs!). Service au top, plats frais et qualitatifs et cadre aussi beau dans le caveau qu'en été sur la terrasse. Nous habitons à 80 kms mais nous faisons toujours le déplacement avec plaisir. Merci pour le chaleureux accueil que vous nous réservez à chaque visite.

Chefin ist sehr unfreundlich, für einen Weizenbier mit einem kleinen Schuss Cola wollte sie Cola nochmal extra berechnen.Sowas haben wir noch nie so erlebt.

Wir hatten uns auf ein gemütliches, feines Mittagessen gefreut und dann so etwas! Selten wurden wir in einem Restaurant so unfreundlich bedient wie hier. Wir fühlten uns überhaupt nicht willkommen - und jede Frage etc. welche wir an die Bedienung stellten wurde mürrisch und mit einem sehr herablassenden Gesichtsausdruck beantwortet.

Nach kurzer Wartezeit konnten wir im schönen und speziell geschmückten Kellergewölbe der Pizzeria ein hervorragendes Nachtessen geniessen. Es lohnt sich neben den dünnen aber grossen Pizzen auch die anderen italienischen Menüs zu versuchen

Pizza war nach meinem Geschmack recht gut, aber nichts besonderes. Auf jeden Fall empfinde ich die Pizza-Preise als zu hoch auch wenn man in sehr guter Lage sitzt. Der Service war sehr freudlich, aber für mein Empfinden leider nicht sehr interessiert. Man musste (obwohl zu diesem Zeitpunkt nicht viel los war) lange warten, bis jemand kam.

Echt super heerlijk gegeten!! Vooraf de Bruchetta classico genomen. Deze was verrassend lekker. Verse ingrediënten, flinke hoeveelheden en helemaal niet duur. Besloten er vanavond nog een keer heen te gaan☺️

Mooie locatie, maar je moet veel geduld hebben. Het duurt even eer je bestelling opgenomen wordt. Mijn man kreeg eerst zijn warm voorgerecht en net voor het op was kreeg ik mijn koude! Vitello tonnato was veel te lopend. Crostini was een pizza. Wel goed van smaak. Penne was lekker, maar kwam veel te laat. Pizza van het huis was veel te zwaar belegd. Al het personeel keek wat nors. Ik miste meer passie.

Wir wohnen weiter weg, aber mein Mann hat immer von der tollen Pizza von La Grappa geschwärmt. Heute waren wir dann in der Gegend und sind zum Essen hingegangen. Es war fantastisch! Die Inhaber sind super lieb und herzlich und hier gibt es die beste Pizza überhaupt! Wir kommen auf jeden Fall bald wieder und freuen uns schon auf den nächsten Besuch!

Obwohl mehrere Tische reserviert waren, haben wir auf Nachfrage doch noch einen Tisch bekommen. Das Personal war trotz Stress sehr freundlich und aufmerksam ....

Het eten was heerlijk. De locatie prima, waar ik moeite mee haar; was de bazin,zei gaf waar iedereen het kon horen,een medewerker een uitbrander, hij was uit het zicht van iedereen een sigaretje gaan roken. Had ze naar mijn mening met hem alleen moeten regelen. Wat mij stoorde was dat ze verschil maakt tussen toeristen en einheimers dit is niet het eerste jaar wij waren hier al een paar jaar eerder geweest. Toen kregen de vaste gasten een aperitief en wij als toeristen niet. Dus geen veranderingen. Jammer want het eten was prima.

Wir haben es trotzdem probiert , leider, wir leben seid 30 Jahren in Gengenbach nur das was hier geboten wird ist eine Frechheit . Eine sehr schnippische und arrogante Dame nahm die Bestellung auf , ohne nur einmal den Gast anzuschauen, man hat das Gefühl man wird halt ertragen. Die Qualität des bestellten ist Lichtjahre von dem verlangten Preis entfernt. Ein kleiner Aufruf „ man lebt nicht nur von den Touristen die einmal kommen und dann wieder abreisen, uns werden sie nicht mehr sehen

Sehr beeindruckend wenn man das Restaurant/den Gewölbekeller betritt. Wir hatten eine super schönen Platz. Der Salat und Bruschetta vorab waren sehr lecker. Die Holzofenpizza war super. Die Spaghetti Aglio Olio hätte etwas mehr Knoblauch vertragen können. War aber trotzdem gut. Für Nachtisch hatten wir keinen Platz mehr aufgrund der großen Portionen. Fazit: wir kommen wieder!!!

Das Ambiente im Kellergewölbe ist ansprechend. Vielleicht etwas zu viel Deko. Die Pizza war mit klein tituliert, es kam aber eine sehr leckere und mehr als ausreichende Version. Beim Mittagstisch war noch ein kleiner Beilagensalat im Preis mit drin. Wir hatten das Essen ruckzuck auf dem Tisch. Eine gute Idee ist der beiliegende Pizzaroller zum zerkleinern. Die Bedienung war nett und freundlich.

Wir waren insgesamt zufrieden. Es war einiges los deswegen gab es nicht mehr alle Gerichte ( bsp. lasagne und calzone) was schade war. Das Essen hat geschmeckt und war prinzipiell gut. An der Spaghetti Carbonara war zu viel Öl. Die Bedienungen war freundlich und das Ambiente ist sehr schön im Kellergewölbe.

Mon collègue et moi même présent pour le travail, nous étions à la recherche d’un restaurant pour manger comme il faut. Pas déçu du tout, j’ai rarement apprécié autant un resto en déplacement. Les prix sont bas, pour la qualité retrouvée dans l’assiette. Je recommande les yeux fermés!

Een enorm leuke ervaring in mooiste stadje van Duitsland. Wel op voorhand reserveren. Zowel de prachtig dun gebakken pizza's als de lekkere pastagerechten waren 10/10.
