During my recent visit to Christian & Friends, Tastekitchen in Fulda, I was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional quality and creativity of the cuisine. Chef Christian Steska's modern dishes, rooted in classical foundations, showcased remarkable depth of flavor and innovative use of regional ingredients. The open kitchen concept added to the engaging dining experience we had there. The cordial service and pleasant atmosphere further enhanced the evening, making it a memorable culinary journey.

Food high quality and mostly very creative. Were there at lunchtime. In my opinion, it could have been a little more sophisticated in one or two courses (e.g. with zander). What impressed me most were the “Snacks around the world” and the dessert (Komuntu). Great value for money at lunchtime!

We went to Masa for the first time for our anniversary and had a wonderful evening there. From the excellent service to the extremely delicious Japanese cuisine. The service was very friendly, accommodating and immediately available for every request. And all of this without being intrusive. The food was of course the highlight and we were able to enjoy our omakase menu for 4 hours in a noble ambience. Of course, the fact that we were able to watch the food being prepared from our seat at the counter made the evening perfect. The matching wine pairing was fantastic and absolutely suited my taste. Although it was a bit much for me as I hardly drink alcohol. The wine sommelier, as well as everyone else, do their job from the heart and you should feel that in every interaction. The ambience was simple and elegant and, despite the full cast, it was never too loud. It was just a little too cold for our taste, but that's a personal interpretation. In summary, I give 5 stars for our stay at this restaurant. A restaurant that takes all the senses on a journey through Japanese cuisine. We can wholeheartedly recommend Masa to anyone who values ​​good food.

EDIT: I'm updating my review since I just realized it was never posted - this time I have added the relevant pictures of the food and menu since the restaurant seems to have report my review, questioning whether I really ate there and claiming no such dishes were served (guinea fowl). I ate there in August 2021 and reviewed when I got home a few weeks later. Downgrading to 1* due to unprofessional handling of this. Furthermore based on more recent reviews it seems I'm not the only one to think their asian interpretations are poor. I think anyone who gets asian food will find it pretty blah and undeserving of any Michelin stars (maybe you can arguably call it a westernized interpretation, though I find it a massive downgrade taste and ingredient wise). Btw there is nothing wrong with being experimental, but if we give feedback it's not working - accept it or not - what's the point in being rude and questioning whether we even ate there?! That they're questioning objective facts like whether or not I ate there and something like time to serve the food. I can even pull up my IG stories with timestamps... I'm sorry but in this day and age everything is recorded online and you can't deny facts like in the past. To the restaurant: you need to educate whoever is responding to these reviews on food from different cultures; to claim there is nothing japanese-inspired when oden and wasabi have been served historically is just weird. -- I don't even know why this is a Michelin starred restaurant. It was also incredibly slow, I'm not sure if they're short staffed but they took 4h to serve everything and was sometimes cold. The food was subpar, Japanese inspired (but they're not alone in this this season) but you're better off in Japan. For example, one of the courses was like tough guinea fowl in oden and a bao. Oden is cheap food and so much better in Asia.

A wonderful team. It's very rare to create an atmosphere in which you just feel comfortable and forget about time. 4.5 hours flew by and every bite was a pleasure!

A new restaurant has arrived. The Tafelspitz from Grabenstrasse has found its new home here. Very tasty Hessian/Rhine-Hessian dishes await and pamper the palate. The ambience is simple and modern. The food was very tasty. Welcome to the new location and good luck in the new premises.

Great dinner experience. The only thing I recommend to improve are the chairs. Their backs are in my view not high enough, which makes it hard to sit their comfortably for 3+ hours. Other than that, everything was great!

Ein wunderbarer Genuss. Wir hatten uns für 6 Gänge mit Weinbegleitung entschieden. Neben den außergewöhnlich raffinierten Speisen sticht die Freundlichkeit des Personals hervor! Die Weine waren exzellent gewählt und vom Sommelier mit Witz gredenzt. Selbst die Kleinigkeiten, das Brot und die Butter (in Entenform) zum Niederknien… Wir haben zum Glück im Hotel übernachtet, denn die Gläser waren immer gut gefüllt! Gerne wieder mal! It was quite crude, undercooked and much too filling as is the case in low quality German restaurants. Extraordinary experience, we went there in summer for a special occasion. The decoration the atmosphere was all outstanding. However don't expect an air conditioning system the solution is to sit outside in the shadows of remarkable trees and a lovely terrace. The food was outstanding and the chef also appeared in the end. The wine pairing was very solid and all came from the Rhein region 👌. Highly recommend
